Thank you thank you thank you ?

the best,thanks so much

Flashed over @Brunowp8 latest unofficial RR 5.8.5 from May and it works great
The only thing I noticed is that wallpapers were downgraded in your build.
I would also add an "unofficial" to the ROM package name so that nobody could think it is an official build

Since the Oreo ROMs have higher battery drain and some problems - can this ROM be considered as an up-to-date problem-free battery friendly ROM for those who look for something to settle? The new features Oreo brought aren't that important for me but the most smooth experience with my smartphone. Currently I am not sure which way to go.

Yes ^^. But i don't think it's a "problemless" even if it's up to date, resurrection remix roms are full of bugs, like it was randomly rebooting on my klte or even activating a feature that did brick m'y phone (it was pie menu XD)
If really want THE BEST, low battery drain, no bugs, up to date, stable as hell, there's nothing better than lineage os 14.1 and aokp nougat

In my experience, :3 years+ 3 s5's and countless ROM's you won't find a better mix of smoothness, reliability battery drain and customization than this ROM. That's just been my experience with my particular variant. I can find zero bugs.

Yes!
I have used many ROMS and I always return to RR.
I have used LineageOS, Mokee, AOKP, crDroid and many more and none has given me as much battery time as RR, thanks.
Awesome job @IKGapirov
Hope one day you can port a MIUI ROM.

Really ? Don't want to be disrespectful but about customization ,90% of ROM's have that cmz.(10% remains to stock LOS ,others ) ,smoothness and battery life Oreo pass that test for along time now ,you only need to find your ROM.
And I always return to AOSP Oreo ,it's just me ?

Don't get me wrong I love aex/Oreo. I wish that it was more stable from build to build. I wish I could use Dolby atmos with Oreo and I also wish BT didn't break on me when switching from phone to speaker and back. I don't like the fact that I have to delete a bunch of apps to get good battery drain and just when I have it figured out the next build is different.
As far as you being disrespectful about the customization, your not, however you are misstaken.
RR.$.8.5 has more than pretty much any other ROM around and I get excellent battery right out of the box. The only thing I find missing in. This ROM is the option to change system front's without a third party app.
The bottom line is that this s*** is subjective, from user to user and phone to phone depending on how you use, what gapps you use, or don't, third party apps and taste. I love aex but for me I find this ROM is a lot more stable.

I have a noob question. Does this rom include all the commits that were merged by Lineage team up until May/June?

Hello. I have the problem that when I'm surfing online, for example on Facebook, and my mobile phone is moving from mobile data to Wi-Fi, or backwards, it suddenly stops loading the page. I have to kill the app and reload it, then it will work again. Only closing does not help. It does not matter if it's in an app or through the browser.
The same problem exists with the official RR 7.1.2.
Can someone help?

I have not personally experienced this problem. My gut is telling me you need to try formatting data in TWRP. I don't think it's an RR problem. Again this is just a hunch. Are you on the latest firmware for your device? Updating to the latest baseband could potentially help as well... I don't know what else it could be?? Sorry that's all I got for you good luck

Have waited for this one, thank you!
Flashed this rom today and I have only found one bug. I loose signal (or connection) from time to time. Had the same problem with CM13. Never a problem with samsung-roms so wonder why it happens. Is this a bug for everyone? Did full wipe before i flashed Mokee. Also tried to install without gapps, but the bug was still there.
Everyting else works perfect!

I've tested the rom now for about 30min. It's not really my cup of tea as there aren't a lot of features. It seems that it is much more stable and smoother than the other cm13-based roms (since there isn't any lag on high use). Given everthing i said above i would say that it's a good rom. Keep up the good work and hope to see more features coming.
Test runs.
Boeffla CM13 Kernel v8 don´t work, Bootloop
But the ROM is great, test runs again without Boeffla.
Some apps running back who have not previously worked with CM13.
If all sensors are working remains the ROM on mobile

What is the difference?
RELEASE: Tested after integrating new features, more stable than NIGHTLY. (Odexed builds)
NIGHTLY: Built daily with newest code and experimental features, might contain undiscovered bugs. (Deodexded builds)
HISTORY: Final odexded builds once a newer Android version is out and being built.
EXPERIMENTAL: Released when a new device is added or when a new feature is added for public beta testing and feedback. (Deodexded builds)
UNOFFICIAL: Maintained separately by individual developers, usually involves modification of shared code which cannot be merged (affects other devices), therefore maintained by the developer himself.
Note: We always test the shared code for bugs, however sometimes we may not be able to detect device specific bugs. If you have such issues, it will be better to report to the device maintainer.

Yes I heard it from many users about this rather strange problem including touch problems. But I never faced any of these issues on any Nougat based ROM on any kernel whatsoever. Although I have once or twice found my SIM selection option greyed out on Resurrection Remix N but a simple reboot solved it.

Did I mention this would not be possible without the work by @kyasu, the crDroid & LineageOS teams.
Will try it rom, tks u for support
Thanks for posting, I personally still use version 14.1 of crdroid.
But what is the purpose if you're not gonna debug and maintain this rom?

I personally am currently using my own build of Nougat ResurrectionRemix, which I have also shared here at XDA. I personally wanted to check if I could build a non LineageOS Oreo ROM using @kyasu LOS device tree's. ie Hopefully, in the future, when all the source code code is more stable, I will be able to build another ROM for my personal use (which I would also share).

ALL the oreo code is still VERY early days, I dont think there are even too many official devices with releases yet ie not even Alpha's. You don't need to look too far before something "pops up"

Thats one of the brilliant things of open source code. There are a team of people working on LineageOS (the basis for crDroid and ResurrectionRemix), as well as people working on crDroid and RR, as well as the work being done by @kyasu specifically for our device. Any work they do, would flow through to anyone building the ROM from source. ie "I" do not specifically need to do the debugging, hopefully. And that makes me think of another reason, maybe this build will inspire someone else to give it a go.

Big thanks @DiamondJohn for providing us with some options besides LOS! By the way, was the "ks01ltexxd" in the title intended?

Each Dev has a right to include all the crap he wants. I'm not saying that DiamondJohn does but still, some roms are faster and more battery efficient then other.

Yes that's true, but since almost every custom rom is based on LOS I wouldn't expect a huge difference. Also in my experience the apps installed by the user or Google services eat up the battery, not so much the rom (of course the system consumes battery, but most of the time it's something else, if one has unusual high battery drain). I think if you really want to save energy you probably need to throttle the CPU. And Oreo isn't too great at saving battery at the moment (I am only talking about the builds available for our device of course). I hope this will get better in the future. I am using Oreo nevertheless because it's rock stabil and I like the features.
Interesting, what features are they?

I'd like to hear the answer to this question.
I dont think you should be looking at ROMs like ResurrectionRemix or crDroid if you wish to be running "light", and I would also go for PICO GApps (which is what I run).

As this was a build straight from the source (I only changed one line to make it permissive), its the decision of the devs at the crDroid Team, not me.
By the way, whenever I have looked at the changes made in crDroid, the non-device specific code changes has always been by a single dev. I am sure its a group that decides on bigger things, like what to include, just interesting that shared (between devices) code almost seems to be maintained by a single guy.

I am running Nougat ResurrectionRemix, and to limit my battery drain, I have Greenify running VERY aggressively. I also have the CPU at standard max, but a conservative governor; Tripndroid, which doesn't seem to lag for my usage, but likes the lower frequencies.

I am guessing you are running LOS. The latest build appears to have caused some "noise", which worries me as this build is based on similar code. GPS also appears to be a common issue. I tried GPS on this build and it didnt connect to any satellites (I was inside, and it was heavily overcast that day) but when I restored my daily and it didnt lock a location either (but at least connected to a few satellites). I'd be interested to know by anyone who tries this ROM if the GPS works? That's a deal breaker for me personally. The "efs" partition talk also really concerns me.
New build!
There is anew build up (see OP). This build was basically a test to see what would happen (ie would it even boot) if the SELinux was ENFORCING
Make sure you flash GApps along with the ROM before the first boot. I accidentally booted without GApps and then flashing it after caused issues.
I also tried Magisk 16.0 for root, and that appeared to work. Instead of the LineageOS add-an
I also tried flashing Viper, and that worked as soon as I switched over to permissive. I also took a log to see what permissions/SELinux statements would enable it to run enforcing.
I did appear to have issues the second time I flashed it with ADB over WiFi (it didnt pop up the request/confirmation).
I am also hoping that the GPS will be fixed soon in the LOS 15.1 builds which will hopefully flow through to crDroid:fingers-crossed:
Remember, this is unofficially an an unofficial build:silly:

Feature wise, it is NOT light; as it is very featured. Those features come from code.
To me, if you truly want light, you go with a "vanila" AOSP ROM. I am NOT talking about how they run, but their contents. On a different device (xt907) I built a number of Nougat ROMs, and AICP actually seemed noticeably "snappier" to me than crDroid or RR. A ROM not being light, does not mean it is slow.
Not that's its an accurate comparison of anything, but comparing the Oreo file sizes,
LOS 15.1 = 359MB
RR v6.0.0 = 329MB (I recently did a test build, and it booted and ran :victory
crDroid v4.0 = 385MB
also, the main build section has "steps" when compiling a ROM, below are the results from the last time I compiled each of these
LOS 15.1 = 75755
RR v6.0.0 = 76872
crDroid v4.0 = 77145
On a side note, I have another device (Nexus 5, the xt907 has died) and that has an RR Oreo ROM at around 359MB and an AOSP ROM (v8.0) at 297MB.
By the way, RR is my ROM of choice, as (I think) this device is much more than capable of handling just about any ROM we can thrown at it, at least thus far for me.:good:

Hi DiamonJohn,
I'm giving a daily test although this is not the case, but I'm even amazed by the result even with this state of the ROM.
In terms of apps, everything works, at least the ones I use daily basis that are; Facebook, Messenger, Inbox "2 email accounts", Outlook "1 email account", Google Keep, DropBox, Skype, Twitter, Youtube, etc..., bluetooth works and I'm going to test the GPS tomorrow when I go running
What I mean is that even though not being for daily use (for now) this ROM is not too far from that in my point of view, of course you still need a lot of work ahead and the battery does not last long but what does it matter at this stage since the RR roms happens the same
With spirit and with head this rom can get very good at level ★ ★ ★ crDroid ★ ★ ★ Official[7.1.2][ks01lte][V3.5][09 JUN] and by the way, it's the rom I use every day and it's great.
I was going to forget to mention, Magisk Manager, Xposed and Greenify they are installed and working properly.
For now is everything and I hope this rom go forwar, I am very interested because my GALAXY S4 LTE still has much to give :good:
And I say even that this ROM in the point that is, deserves the title that I gave

I would not expect the GPS to be working. It was built without a change from LOS that would fix it. But I tried including the code, which didn't appear to work for me, and only after realised that I had a hardware issue (my antenna wasn't connecting well physically on the device fixed now) I am now waiting (patiently) for @kyasu to update his actual device tree with the changes.
I have also built an Oreo ResurrectionRemix. I am hoping someone will test applying a substratum theme against one of these Oreo ROMs (although I haven't made public the RR one) I have built. That (and the GPS) are probably my roadblocks right now foir me to upgrade and thereby be more frequent with new builds; ie I dont know if Substratum works or not. I have tested Viper (another one of my personal deal-breaks, and that works)
GPS Works well
Surprise LOL, GPS works well with me!
I use Endomondo - Running & Walking and GPS and continued to work well, without having the 4G connected!
I installed the GPS TESTE to see how many satellites it picks up and the accuracy and it seemed to me everything normal (view image link)
https://www.dropbox.com/s/kycoe6blbovs78g/Screenshot_GPS_Test_20180327-082957.png?dl=0
About the Resurrection Remix I tested (Nougat) are good, but the battery is the weak point, because until now they all drain very quickly, which can not be for me to be daily use. As I mentioned, the crdroid ★ ★ ★ ★ Official [7.1.2] [ks01lte] [V3.5] [09 JUN] the battery is very good and for now is my choice for daily use.
I want to update to the OREO and so far and I have always liked crDroid for better results this your unofficial ROM is very very good :good:
Of course I'm here to test your Oreo RR

The screenshots are far from useless. They bring a plus and thus give a preview of the ROM on the device. Each ROM is different and has its own features on each device. Just take a look at the other topics.
A presentation made this way really does not make me want to install it. We are not even sure of the compatibility of the ROM! I will not take the risk of installing it on my phone at the risk of bricklaying it.

Your sad rhetoric deeply illustrates your inexperience and low ability. A screenshot is as such. No "compatibility" judgement can be drawn from a screenshot.
Ever heard of the phrase "don't judge a book by it's cover"? I think your compatibility with ROM reviewing needs work.
Advice - when a maintainer (like @Skorupsi) comes along with tried, tested and respected ROMs....try them for your compatibility. You know how to Nandroid backup I hope? If you do...you won't be "bricklaying" your device.
Anyway, I digress slightly. My comment stands. Screenshots are useless in determining a ROMs compatibility, performance and worthiness. Wind up.

Do you do it on purpose or what?!
A screenshot is primarily intended to provide an overview of the ROM and its contents. After that, I don't force anyone. If Skorupsi doesn't want to post any screenshot, this is his problem.
In addition, take a look at https://download.mokeedev.com/ and you will see that there is no version for the A5 2017! So we are dealing with an UNOFFICIAL VERSION.
That's why I think screenshots are welcome on this topic. That's all.

You really need to wind up now. Both @Skorupsi and I have discussed this with you already.
Unofficial is given to any ROM that has not yet been put through it's paces. LOS 14.1 is currently UNOFFICIAL...you avoid that too?
Learn about the ROM community and how it works. Then come back to discuss further.
For now, I would be careful how you conduct yourself on these forums and request that you respect the community standards, developers and members alike. If you continue to bombast, then it will not look good in your part.

To build a ROM you need something called device tree and everything depends on it, A5 and A7 have it nearly perfect, A3 is different SoC and McFy is working hardly on this, so trust him and let him work

A good idea would be to make a backup of your ROM without data and then make a separate backup of your data. That way you can flash a new ROM and quickly restore data after you setup your new ROM.
Also, please allow the ROM a few days to settle onto your device so you can then fully assess it's worthiness for your needs. Often, so many users fail to do this and do not see the full ROM - only a small part.
All these ROMs are classic examples of brilliant custom builds and have stood the test of time in so many devices (I've had them all on Xperia SP and Moto X Play)
Following my suggestion would allow you to pick and choose your favourite flavour without too much time restoring apps (takes around 6 minutes via TWRP restore)
Good luck and have fun finding your way

I sorted out the lagged issues withe the ROM, I forgot to enable root, and flashed Dolby Audio mod, hence the lagging.
I flashed the latest version of Magisk and my issue concerning lagging was solved.
All other Oreo Roms works well except that in DotOs, it takes a bit of time to recharge the tablet and the battery also drains quicker.
With RR Oreo ROM, the battery recharge well and does not drains fast as the other Oreo Variant ROMs.

Yea very sad, I will hold onto with my Trek 2 a bit longer to see if development will continue later on even though I am considering other tablets with good XDA community support. @tdm, @juniorgerman, thanks for your efforts in this forum with regards to the Trek 2.
I like the tablet more for the size of the screen to read books, comic book, etc ... and more

Absolutely, I do lots of remote connections to my clients PCs and the tablet serves as the perfect tool for that purpose.

Same here, the size, form factor and weight is perfect for longtime reading.

Honestly, I don't really care much about further development. A stable AOSP oreo is more than I was expecting from such a budget tablet. I am gonna hang on to this tablet for the foreseeable future.
I had a MI Pad4 before this one, that was a perfect tablet development and performance-wise, but the weight was too heavy for long time reading, especially at night. So I sold that one and purchased this for less than half the price! Besides, being that cheap I don't have to always worry about dropping or losing it!

All other Oreo Roms works well except that in DotOs, it takes a bit of time to recharge the tablet and the battery also drains quicker.
With RR Oreo ROM, the battery recharge well and does not drains fast as the other Oreo Variant ROMs.

Hi, since you are using the RR Oreo rom installed, I am assuming you have the latest twrp too. Did you save a copy?
I am on an older version of twrp and that doesn't seem to work with RR, but strangely works with DotOS.
Battery life with DotOS has been decent for me, but I want to try RR based on your recommendation. Thnx.

Looks like tdm's site is back up. Link in 1st post [ROM] Oreo test builds worked for me. Now I need to figure out how to update TWRP.
