Ringtones help

I wanted to have mp3 and wav ringtones on my 8125 from my old files but i dont want to use the phone memory since all ringtones are being copied there .... i searched the forum and found this registry tweak in REGESTRY WIZARD thread :
Follow these steps to change the default ringtone location:
1) Locate
HKEY_CURRENT_USER ControlPanel Sound Categories RingDirectory registry key
2) Edit the default value of "WindowsRings" to "Storage Card"
3) Place those ringtones into Storage Card
i did that and i created the folder on my storage card but the files still dont show in sound section of my phone...
Can somebody guide me in the right direction?
thanks
Forget the registry hacks.
The only thing I did to use MP3 ringtones on my Wizard is this:
- Create a "My Documents" folder on your Storage Card (so you get \Storage Card\My Documents)
- Copy your MP3 ringtones to the My Documents folder.
Regards,
Molski
p.s. This does not work with Profile programs, for selecting different profiles, but it does work on a "standard Wizard"
this registry hack didn't work for me neither, can someone enlighten us, on how to use ring tones from the storage card?
worked!!!

Add sound to alarm clock !Help!

Hello,
can anybody tell me how i can add sounds to "the normaly alarm clock" or "Alarming 2.1.2".
I have the [ROM] CyanogenMod and only one sound *buzzer alarm* in the list.
Thanks for Helps.
Andreas
Simply create a folder structure like that on your SD card:
/audio/alarms
or
/media/audio/alarms
Then copy your alarm sounds (preferably in the ogg Vorbis format) into the "alarms" folder, reboot and you should have additional alarm sounds.
Alternatively you can copy your alarm files to /system/media/audio/alarms.
On your sdcard make the following
Media
In that make
audio
In that make
Ui, notifications,ringtones,alarms.
The download the resources.zip in the cyanogen thread and copy the ones you want to their proper folder
Or use a media2sd script.

ringtones on CM10/hellybean

Hi,
i just flashed hellyBean CM10, looks great.
not sure why my apollo "stopped working" everytime, but my real question is how to change the alarm tone and the phone ringtone to a custom .mp3
couldn't find the option.
thanks.
I know two ways to do it:
1. For ringtones on your internal SD card create a folder named ringtones and put there the mp3. I guess it may work the same for notifications/alarms
2. Go to /system/media/audio and you will have 4 folders there: alarms, notifications, ringtones, ui and put here the mp3, fix permissions then reboot. But you will lose them on your next flash.
For your apollo issue: try to clear data and cache from manage apps/all/apollo then reboot.
Go to apollo-> long press a song->set as ringtone
then go to the ringtone and or alarm settings, the song you selected to set as ringtone will now be available in the list of ringtones.
Edit:this is the same I had to do on CM7.2 btw
Great!

What's the process to install custom ringtones?

Hi,
I'm trying to install sound package which has ringtones and notifications. The files are ogg format.
I figured out how to install notifications. I have to use the built-in Samsung My Files to copy them into the Notifications folder. Then it will be picked up by the phone and I can see them in Settings notification list
However, I can't get the ringtones to show up in Settings ringtone list. I can use the plus button to choose, which shows all notifications as well.
What's the trick to install ringtones on S10?
Thanks

Just copy ringtones into the folder Ringtones! If the folder doesn't exists, make it!

I already did it twice, once with My Files. However, they don't show up in Settings -> Sound -> Ringtones. Instead, I'd have to click on + sign at the top and choose folder.
Does it require a folder structure inside Ringtones folder?
Thanks
Unfortunately, it happens to me all the times I've manually placed files into the Ringtones folder, even on internal storage not external SD. What I found worked reboot many times or use media scanner to refresh
How do I trigger media scanner?
Thanks
