[Guide] Solve Standby and Android system Drain - Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 Guides, News, & Discussio

I will give you 3 options to solve android system drain and it will 100% solve un-necessary drains.
1st Method this most probably solve issue
*Don't use fingerprint scanner use Face unlock or pattern
Note: If you will use fingerprint scanner it will give you alot of wakelocks because fingerprint scanner detects very little dust(which barely you can see with eyes) not only fingers. If you have phone in your jeans or trouser pocket it will drain battery 100%. Device will also heat while you get cdfinger wakelocks almost 5000+ in 10 minutes.
2nd Method Re-calibrate battery
Charge to 100% and use untill 0% . Charge while Mobile switch off upto 100 and use again do this 2 times.
3rd Method
Install full firmware from asus site copy this file to root directory and reboot and you will see update notification.
Note:This is for stock recovery and will wipe all data.

Thanks for reading hope this will help someone. I found this solution my self by detecting wakelock and flashed full firmware i did not get any drain later.

Still Fingerprint reader problem not solved in 323 august update. Just lost 10% while phone was in my jean's pocket under 2 hours and there was little heat as well.

Try this little trick which worked for me real good. After charging the device, restart it and go to Android system app info and trun off background activity (if it is already turned off turn on and off immediately). Do this every time you charge the device. Share your experience if you try it.

It doesn't do anything look at the wakelock detail its the faulty fingerprint scanner and stopping or changing system activity will give you negative effects on overall usability.

Recalibrating the battery may fixed the problem, but to completely fix it you probably want to switch to another ROM completely, plus installing stuff like Amplify + Greenify. You do need to root your phone for this. Don't ask me which ROM though since I'm on stock myself and too lazy to go through that process again for now. Maybe sometimes early next year we'll see.

Its Normal wakelock while using phone or having data connection or wifi connected and only problem is cdfinger wakelock which heats phone and eats a lot of battery and can not be solved by any app. For ex greenify. Ampify etc only can be fixed by asus by making changes in kernel.

[Q] Why My Note is always Awake?

Dear All,
here is my Note 2.3.6 stock rom with Franco #6 kernel Battery usage (in pic 1&2)
It shows that my note was awake mostly all the time although as you can see from the pic that the phone screen is off most of the time (almost did not use it that day)

1-is this because I was leaving the wifi on most the time?
Edit: I turned the wifi before sleep and after 6 hours I found the phone was awake all the 6 hours and sygic was off
this an old pic (couple of days before) and you can see my wifi was on all the time while the phone was not awake most of the time
2- Why my signal bar in pic is yellow and not green as usual?
and in pic 2 here is my apps, so which one caused this awake?
Final results after long day of asking, getting help from replies here, reading and trying, everything is fixed after doing restart

Don't keep your WiFi and GPS (Sygic) on all the time. Looks like that's what's stopping your Note from going to sleep.
Don't know if this is an actual fix, but what I discovered is that turning the screen off by pressing the 'Power' button on the side helps tremendously in preserving my battery life. If I just let the screen time out, my battery gets drained big time.
This may/may not work for you, but it's worth a shot...
(EDIT: This still holds true even when I keep my wi-fi on)
thank you to all who replied here, the main thread is updated , please read it

Well both old and recent screenshots show the same battery drain and quite similar usage, they lasted for a day and a couple hours.. I think it's a glitch in the system info.
Had a problem a week ago with heavy battery drain in a quite similar manner and I can guarantee that if the phone didn't entered sleep mode it wouldn't even last those 24hrs.

do you mean that the phone entered deep sleep but the results are not correct or not true?
I have also CPU Spy and it shows that my phone did not enter deep sleep during the last 30 hours (or more)
try uninstalling Sygic.

Well that translates to 33 hours of battery life so that's pretty good
This phone is different from others in that the lowest frequency (384mhz) is very high (my nexus 7 stays at 104mhz a lot), so minimizing the number of apps that make use of the phone when it's locked is key, as they would make it run at 384mhz, stamina mode is good with this but I assume you already have it on
So try to search for apps that use services that always run in the background and uninstall the ones you don't use very often
The same thing happened to my SP but only for 3-4 days after flashing a rom, then it was stable and the battery decreased from 100 to 15% after 2 days (light-use) or 24 hours (3G and Location based Wifi were on, without Stamina or Low battery mode enabled).
So, have u flashed rom already?

1% in 20 minutes when display is off. i charge my phone after 15-17 hours. that's how much it actually lasts.
Stamina mode is not enabled. i will try with it too in few days. thanks for the advice though

[Q] Why my battery drains faster every update?

Hello,
Something that I've been noticing...
Every time when Sony launches a new update my phone's battery is draining faster.
I'm not a hardcore user, I only use wi-fi or 3g, barely use 4g because my city doesn't have the greatest coverage, I don't need to use GPS and all other functionalities... Sometimes I use Whatsapp, Instagram and Snapchat and that is all.
Today for example I only used Whatsapp through their website, didn't use my phone that much and look at these stats:

}
In a couple of hours I lost almost 40% of battery
I'm used to my phone lasting 2-3 days before needing to charge and now every day I have to do it.
Can someone explain to me, or help fix this issue?
Thank you all
PS.: I didn't root my phone or did anything with it yet....
Not sure since I use cyanogenmod but those stats just tell that you have the screen on a lot. For advanced battery usage diagnostics you would need root but you could try Wakelock Detector: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.uzumapps.wakelockdetector&hl=de

But that is what I'm talking about, each update my screen and android seems to use more battery.
I did nothing different with him from when I first got the phone and updated it to Lollipop.
The first update was great, then the others started to make my phone use more battery...
Are all your apps up to date? The second to last Snapchat update caused wakelocks and the latest should fix that.
Asife from the wakelock detector (which is a great app) you could also try Gsam Batterymonitor.

There is also an app called Deep Sleep Info and that tells you, over time, how much sleep your phone is getting. This app does not require root and does not consume any cpu or battery power.
Before 5.1.1 I was getting around 90% when the screen was off but since 5.1.1 the phone is only sleeping around 60% of the time. I think there is more to the problem than just one rouge app because Gsam is reporting sensors.qcom and mediaserver as using more resources in the latest lollipop.
Did you do a factory reset after the update?
Before doing that, my phone also has poor battery life, but after did a factory reset, my battery life turns a lot better!
You might consider give it a try!

Moto G2 Strange Battery Draining Issue.

I am using a Moto G 2014 Device from last 2 Years. All of the sudden since last Marshmallow Update I started facing strange battery draining issue. The phone battery goes from 80% to 1 or 0% instantly and device get turned off. I also noticed that it happens while jumping between the apps. For example if I am using any social networking app and I start a low end game the battery meter shows 0% and phone gets turned off. And If I turn on the phone after a while without connecting it to charger it get turned on with some different battery %.
I tried to calibrate the battery with old school method but the device wont let me drain it coz if i turn any app it shut down instantly.

Question Sudden battery drain on cherishOS

Hello, this is my first post on xda so sorry for any mistakes.
I've had CherishOS 3.9.5 on sweet for a good while now and this problem started a month ago.
Device does not go into deep sleep at all, idle drain is so high that it doesn't even make sense.
For example today, when i went to sleep, i closed all apps and turned off the mobile network. There was a drain from 57% to 19% over 6 hours.

I rooted my phone and installed betterbatterystats for further investigation and found this
I found this today. Previously i scoured through forums for a similar issue and found that disabling double tap to wake should fix the issue. I did that and it did fix the battery, but only for 2 days and then it went back to the god awful drain. It's a real pain to have my phone charging all the time.
Any help is appreciated and I can post anything further if I missed anything here. Thank you
What Kernel u use? Had this issues too with different Kernel and Versions, but with AGHISNA-OSS-12-03-2023-signed seems all fine and working decent.
Give it a try, i wont touch my Kernel for a while, because never touch a running system.
Attached is the Aghisna OOS for LQ8000. If u have that other Chargingboard, u have to search on Sourceforge for it.

And kill the battery in the process. Another reason to avoid google.
calibrat your batterie try to using your phone until it turns off completely and wait 3 hours while it is turned off after that plug in without turn it on until you see 100% icon battery in the dark page and try to give it another 3 hours after that plug out and power on your phone and use it until 15% ..and voilà your batterie is fresh and calibrate and happy
Update to Cherish build 4.61 not newer nor older
this precise build specially the vanilla one with nikgapps core is very satisfieng combination with superb bb and barely noticable drain
try it and report back
ps: clean install is a must to have the best results
Good luck
