I never heard of it bro. For me it speeds more, because it will not recognize several at the same time, only 1 at a time, always the closest to the position that was registered.

[Q] Waking up the screen Without pushing a button

Good evening everyone,
There used to be an application on HTC HD2, Which was allowing screen to wake up when passing by the finger over the presence detector.
Has anyone heard about such a possibility on our GN please?
Or is there a possibility to do it's just moving the phone In a certain way that we would be able to learn him?
Thank you in advance.
hi, i have tried Tasker . it detects the proximite sensor, but it tells me it is not able to turn on the screen on galaxy note.

Dude! thts an awsome app!! i mean its like totally sci-fi! gud find bro!
only regret is tht in order to unlock it we have to keep the sensor covered for atleast 1 sec, sounds short but in reality it seems a bit long, only if it cud unlock just like it locks with a swipe!

What about "Tap Tap App"? If I remember well, by just tapping (or swiping) twice, the screen got unlocked... tested once for y pal, worked fine in my opinion...
Cheers,
I
I tried tap tap off and it works really nice. Do you think that leaving the proximity sensor on for all the time could cause some issues?

All I can think of is a higher battery drain and maybe some wakelocks or in the worst case it's unable to enter deep sleep at all.
Yes thanks this app is really great too.

Sometimes there's an error retrieving the status of just a single country's status. Refreshing the whole thing just to refresh that seems like a burden on your server to me. Maybe have a little refresh icon next to each country in the list that refreshes the status only for that country? Just a suggestion.
Good job though, thanks!
Nice

This in nice.
Also a feature to add a number of seconds/minutes to automatically refresh. ( most of us know how to do it but a suggestion is a suggestion! )
Also a "notify me" when availiable thingy might be nice. Not with e-mails or anything like that....with rss or a sound maybe?
P.S. Saw this website 2-3 days ago. Love it

One thing that comes to mind is a direct link to the device in the Play Store. Or maybe it does this when one is actually in stock?
Thanks ! I just wish that it showed that the nexus was in stock. I now know that I can not buy it anywhere in the world.

It isn't a burden on the server, but it's a nice suggestion (that I also thought about) - will consider it, thanks.

There's already a mailer set up for 5 emails , but it uses php function's send() which works REALLY slow on my server and it would be useless with more than 10 emails. I'm looking for other solutions anyway. Thanks for the tip.

A direct link could be very easy to implement but useless as you need to be under the country's IP to view it, and relying on web proxy to link it seems not praticable to me.
EDIT: please advise this as Newsworthy thread (if you wish)!
Updated with "Sort by country" option : http://ludalex.soupwhale.com/n4checker/ - hope you'll find it useful.

Shame I can't buy it from Spain. Nice job.
This is fantastic, thanks!
Could you perhaps color the availability status? Green for In Stock and Red for Out of Stock?
Makes it easier to see when further away.
Thanks
EDIT: Perhaps you could create direct links to the Items as well.
Wow brother its nice, BTW when i clicks on main refresh button it shows me one result but when i click on specific country refresh button it shows me different result..why so ?
So does this auto refresh or is this just an easy way for us to click the refresh button and check?
Thanks, but how is this better than going to https://play.google.com/store/devices/details?id=nexus_4_16gb

It happens when you switch country/device too fast, not giving the time to the previous selection to load.

Its possible the phones will go on sale again by region Australia then Europe then USA /Canada based on timezones. In this case it would give some advanced warning.
Some people are trying to buy out with their own country this means they don't need to have proxy etc set up all the time.

Galaxy Gear vibration failure

Hi everyone,
My GG was on null 10.1 working fine. This evening i realised that the watch was not vibrating at all.
I restarted. No vibration.
I wiped. No vibration.
I am now downloading the stock firmware and am going to flash via odin because i think it is a hardware failure and the watch needs to go to service point.
Anyone with similar experience?
Thank you in advance!

Thank you mate for your time and everything you've done that made the Gear a better device.
Will post back after flashing stock.
Flashed stock and the vibration still is not working. Didinthe *#0*# test and it does not vubrate at all.
Very displeased with that.
Off to the service point.
I am having the same problem. My gear isnt vibrating. Any luck getting it fixed?
Mine just started doing the same thing as well. And vibration test did nothing.

Flashing cursor in the middle of the screen

Sometimes I have a sudden cursor flash on the middle of the screen. It seems like its totaly random, I can't even tell if its a cursor, because it lasts for like half a second. But it gets very annoying. Anyone else with this problem? Possible solutions? I have the Tab S2 8.0 inch version.
What OS?
I thought I was crazy but yes I also have it. I'm on 7.0 with my S2 8.0 t713

Yeah first I thought the same, like if my eye was tired or something. But then it happend several times, there is nothing we can do about it. Let's just wait for a software update and we shall see if that solves it.

Holy Crap! This has been happening to me and it's driving me nuts.
Edit: I found a post for another device with a similar issue.
Hey!! I just saw this post. I actually think I resolved this issue by checking the "Large Mouse Pointer" option in the accesibility section of the settings and just leaving it checked.

That's encouraging! It hasn't been that long since I changed to the large curser so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. So far, so good.

auto brightness issue

My Xperia 1 ii was supplied by Vodafone and has latest software update.
I have noticed an issue whereby when I wake my device up and I'm in a fairly dim room it wakes up on full brightness every the and quite slowly reduces down to just off of minimum.
Don't understand why it always starts on full brightness?
Same thing happening here, I assume it's a bug that'll be resolved in the future.
I don't have this problem. But I do have issue with the brightness in general. In bright sunlight it's very hard to read the screen, even at 100% brightness. (Much worse than my wife's fruit phone for example.)
I agree also that the brightness could be better in strong sunlight however on a positive note I do think the issue I has has been fixed in the last update I received a couple of days ago.

Settings, Display, Cover Selection -> select others. This resolved the problem for me.
Same here. Auto brightness is actually a mess (indoors and especially @ night).
Need an update to sort this ASAP.
I'm pretty sure this was an issue on another Sony phone I had also..
Other than this the phone has been great and battery life is really solid for me.

This happened to me as well. The problem went away after a couple of days. Probably the adaptive brightness learning itself.

I'm curious, is it the case that the adaptive brightness learns? More specifically if it sets a brightness level automatically and I up it a little manually using the slider, does this help it learn my custom value in that environment for future use in its automation?
I haven't really used auto brightness before however feeling now it would be handy, as I was finding myself adjusting it a lot. Been using it for a day now and so far it's doing a good job, just occasionally I'll adjust it.
