OK, I see now from the pictures.

My bad & literally, I don't think this is really worth it. I'd rather add the Qi sticker inside the battery. If you really keen to the adapter, then go for the Baseus.

Worth if you don't want to stick the plug all the time, you can just put yout smart on the desk and let it charge, without more cables. i'm thinking in buy 2 adapters and buy some double charger QI. for me and my girl.

I think it really depends yourself if you're really interested to add the Qi wireless sticker. AFAIK, the Mi 8 is easy to remove the back, but the back cover is quite fragile.

I kinda am, but I don't want to open the phone.. It hasn't even arrived yet

im not sure if the back cover will fit after placing the adapter inside, the case will also hurt the cable with time i think (if no no connect it somehow inside) i was thinking in do the same, but after saw some withous about opening the back cover of the mi8 i dont want take the risk for open it and than it doesnt fit.
btw i use Nillkin adapter: https://www.aliexpress.com/store/pr...-more-waterproof-and/1709362_32809920986.html
(important, short version cz finger print sensor) best also in combination with: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Fre...Charger-Pad-Power-Bank-Built/32889041606.html
i recommended the linked seller, had no problem anmd very fast, official nillkin store i had trouble with shipping and adress ect (not recommended)

How do you add a Qi sticker inside the battery?
This method sounds interesting but quite difficult though

Do you think this Will ruin my mi 8 or it's battery?

Car chargers

Does anyone know of a car charger that fits in perfectly in the cig lighter in the car. All Incar chargers I have ever bought never fit in perfectly and with the slightest amount of touch lose power until I push it in again.
I want a nice snug fit just the the cig lighter has with its own lighter thing. I absiolutely hate the give/movement these incar chargers have.
Any ideas?
Hey there, i bought an adapter and just use my usb cable that came with the phone..
Its a tight fit with just a little movement. Never looses the connection, have had no problems

Belkin Micro USB charger
I use it with this http://www.fommy.co.uk/view-full-page.asp?divid=HTC&model=HTC+HD2&skuno=82268. The Belkin Micro charger can be bought from much anywhere and it works very well.
car charger
I use Igo chargers, never had problem, just buy new tip when you change phone. Don't have to carry charger for every phone. They have multi charger kit, comes with home, car, &tip, & retractable cord. Love it, they fit snug, with led lite. Quig
i got one of these for 3 bucks on sale. and for the price it friggin rules!!!

I use a dual USB car charger from Griffin Technology known as the powerjolt.
http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/powerjolt-dual-universal
No other car charger fits my cigarette lighter slot as well. I think this is quite tight but can still pop out. My high tech solution is to stick a bit of card in there with the cahrger. It works perfectly and doesn't need to be wedged in very far to create a rock solid connection.

Works well, snug fit too.
The leo ´s plastic parts are covered by some kinda smooth coating. I wonder if it takes damage if you use car holders (especially the brodit one - I think I might buy this one). What do you guys say? Has anyone experiences with this?
is 500mA enough to charge the phone + use navigation or play music?

I bought this one at walmart on our way out of town one day to run my HD2 and my daughters iPhone 3G...My HD2 always overheats when I use it (the LED flashes orange and green after about 15-20 minutes) Even if I dont have anything else plugged into it.
Mine may be an isolated issue (though I dont see how)...but I dont know if I would recommend this...as overheating the battery often cannot be good in the long run.

Does this sit flush on the top of the lighter jack?...that would be the perfect solution so I could unplug the cable but leave the adapter in and still be able to close the ashtray (change drawer) lid.
...Have you had any power or overheating issues?...(see my post above)
It looks like the price in your link has gone up to 12.99...but a quick google search gave me a price of 5.99+free shipping

Personal review of the Nexus S KiDiGi Desktop Dock

KiDiGi dock
I got tired of samsung taking forever to release a desktop dock, so I went and bought the kidigi and have been using it for a week now. I have to say the dock is amazing . It fits the phone perfectly and holds it in tight . My test for a good dock is if i can place the phone to charge when im drunk, and i have to say its a good dock. . I had a seidio and it was a pain getting the micro usb to line up.
maybe a few picture of the dock?

Sorry cant show you phone on the dock, i dont have a camera besides my phone.
Does the dock fit the phone very tightly or would there be room for a silicone case?
Looks good though. I wondered about mounting one of these permenantly in the car instead of using a brodit active holder

This fits really tight and no room for case. Would be a really good car mount, the phone doesn't move at all, but don't know about permanently mounting something to a car.

using this as a car mount is actually a good idea, just use some strong velcrow. but the downside is that you wouldnt be able to the 3.5mm headphone jack due to the design. what a pitty for people like me who use aux for audio
Does this dock cause the Nexus S to go into dock mode?
I have dock from Odds and Pods.
It looks exactly the same as one described in this thread but no KiDiGi label on it.
Few things which might be helpful for some.
Mine phone did not went into dock mode until I modified dock:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12160799&postcount=40
Dock working fine with Best Skin Ever attached - so there is some room for protection also.
I would not recommend this dock to use it in the car. Not in the place where I live.
If you have only smooth roads, no bumps at all - then yes - maybe. But your phone is not hold in docking station by anything but small USB plug.
Imagine what will happen with this on some bumps.
Consider buying this one for car instead:
http://www.kidigi.com/product_lv2.php?pid=1265
http://www.4u-mobi.com/onlineshop/online_shop_detail.php?pid=5694
Also I have a question to thread author.
Does your dock working OK in USB transfer mode?
Mine just showed up and I was pleasantly suprised of the build quality. Fits perfect.
I got the one with the spare battery compartment.
Best part about it is that it charges the phone, syncs usb, and charges the spare all at the same time rather than one at a time like some of my older versions i've bought.
If it only had an audio out jack in the back it would be the ultimate.
Ordered it here but can be found cheaper with some research: http://www.4u-mobi.com/onlineshop/online_shop_detail.php?pid=5692 showed up in 10 days

So the usb sync works, transfer files, on the one you got? Just want to make sure since the other person said it only charged his phone (unless I read it wrong).
Works perfectly fine.... They ship it with 2 different cables, 1 is obviously for data transfer and the other is for charging... you can tell because one is thick vs the other very skinny... so I hope whoever said it didn't work didn't get their wires crossed up!

Could you please tell us where you could find it cheaper ? Because, personally, I find that is has a very nice design compared to other alternatives, so I would really like to buy it. Preferably cheaper than 27$. So, again, please tell us where to find it cheaper. Thanks !
Also, on their site, it says that under DC and USB charging, the output is 500mAh. My Nexus S DC charger says 700 mAh. How is that going to affect the charging time ? Almost +1/3 of what it is right now ?
I also understood from other sources, that USB can only give a max output of 500 mAh, is that true ? So the only down-side for this dock is the 500 mAh DC output... it would've been better if it had 1A.

Bump. Does the phone enter dock mode?
Does this fit with the I9023 also?
So, where do you find it cheaper ?
Anyway, I found it on shop.brando.com (I think it's a replica of the KiDiGi model). Unfortunately, I can't post links here, so if you want to find it, do a search for "Google Nexus S USB Cradle" on their site. It's 18$ only for charging the phone and 25$ with a slot for charging the battery. That's compared to 27$ and 31$ respectively for those 2 from KiDiGi.
Also, apart from the KiDiGi models and these replicas, I've also found the chinese ones on eBay. Those are around 10$ each, but I don't quite recommend those. They also come with a 500 mA DC charger each, so there's nothing good here, opposed to the 1A charger that comes with the KiDiGi and those replicas on brando shop.
Hope this helps somebody.

When you solder to the flex board there are small metal pads on the circles. If you apply enough heat the "pads" come off revealing the solder points in which you can apply direct solder. Use a thin layer or the battery door will bulge.

At the risk of looking like a complete noob and being flamed, which charging pad do you suggest? Also, the link is to a replacement battery door. Im assuming that the wireless charger is attached in some way to that door and needs to be removed? Or is it just something that comes along with the door and sits inside the door like in your application?

Great work. I've always wanted to try out those add-on chargers. I've have a leftover Nokia charger that I bought for my Nexus 7. I would have to think that the module will fit inside the case after you pry it off. I currently have a thin magnet nestled in the case to use with my car dock.
Does anyone have url's for people in europe?
Ordering these stuff on ebay takes way too long and Amazon won't deliver most products.
I haven't found european suppliers that can deliver the pad + receiver + skinn for under 50euros

These really aren't that great, I was forced to use the USB port since the stock rom is buggy/bloated because I use the PA Rom. My DT-900 charged hopelessly slow and being able to toss it on for 10 minutes and get 3 hours of charge is something I have to do sometimes now that my battery has worn down.

I would love to see pictures of the charging dock as well.
Just a quick note for everyone viewing this thread, there is a lot of info on this type of Qi Charging coil in another thread: External Qi Charging Coil.
Some of your questions might be answered in that thread, such as charging rates, and how it works. I've been using it for some time and enjoy it. About the only problem I have with it is that I want to add a chunk of steel and a magnet so that the phone will "auto align" to the charging pad. That and to hold the phone to the charging pad, as a slight bump with the case I'm using will cause it to slide right off.
Also one last note, if you are using a horizontal holster, it can snag on the usb plug. So make sure the case you are using protects the plug, or you are very careful. The Poetic case I have doesn't protect the bottom and top, and thus the cable can get caught by the holster. Vertical holsters work quite well with the Poetic case, you just have to find one that fits....

Does anyone have url's for people in europe?
Ordering these stuff on ebay takes way too long and Amazon won't deliver most products.
I haven't found european suppliers that can deliver the pad + receiver + skinn for under 50euros

Looks great!! gonna build and report back later
AT&T had the Nokia Qi Charging docks for $5 plus free shipping the other day. It uses a barrel plug to charge, but great for permanent positions like by the bed or office. I moved my Samsung (microUSB) over into my travel bag. I'm actually VERY surprised how well the Nokia Qi is at "pairing" with my Verizon. I seriously just drop it on there and it starts charging where my Samsung had to be "generally" in the same area to get it to go. The Samsung still had play room unlike some of the cheaper $10 ebay models where it required exact precision to "pair" and start charging.
I don't know if the deal is still on but would be worth a look.
UPDATE:
Yup Still $5

"Hacked" built in qi charging:laugh:
The insert is think enough to fit underneath the battery cover.

Magnetic charger from other Xperia devices?

Hi,
I recently bought a magnetic charger on eBay, and it said it was for 'Xperia devices', but it didnt connect properly with my Z2 Tablet. Do people know whether the tablet has a different connection to the other xperia devices? And if so, is there a magnetic charger for the tablet that I can buy? I'm just not able to afford the dock.
Thanks for your thoughts.
This one actually works well.

I second jismail's recommendation. It works pretty well, though the magnet is not super strong and might cause a loss of charging connection if you move the tablet around.

Bought this one in the Netherlands from a small shop that sells "under the umbrella" of bol.com.

Cheap and it does the job.
I know bol.com sells to Belgium, don't know what it means for the shipping costs...

Got it and agree it works, but, at least to me, it seems really pricey. Not compared to a dock, but ounce for ounce, it must be about the price of gold.
To those of you who bought the magnector from amazon, has anyone got this message? I bought the full cable version and I'm using the wall adapter from Sony, but I get this message.

I have to say the magnetic charger is flakey, but I can't determine if it's the magnector or the power source or just the outer drain of the Z2T - probably a combination of all three. To start, the magnector actually pulled the Z2T circuit connection out of its body, so I have to get Sony to look at that (guess my waterproof feature is gone ). It's hard to get good contact and occasionally loses contact when sitting undisturbed. Even my 2.1A charger doesn't provide enough juice to charge unless it's shut down completely. Love the tablet, but charging is problematic.

I have the magnector and have never gotten this message. I agree, though, the charging is slow. Don't know if it's any slower than the conventional way.

I agree that the magnetic coupler is weak, but I've not found it to be flaky. I have to leave my Z2T flat and undisturbed on a surface to ensure that magnector and the tablet stay connected. Sorry to hear about the the magnector pulling out the Z2T circuitry. I'll have to check mine to see if I have this issue.
My connection is pretty strong, I can hold the tablet and it doesn't move. Wondering if I should contact amazon and have it exchanged.
