When you solder to the flex board there are small metal pads on the circles. If you apply enough heat the "pads" come off revealing the solder points in which you can apply direct solder. Use a thin layer or the battery door will bulge.

At the risk of looking like a complete noob and being flamed, which charging pad do you suggest? Also, the link is to a replacement battery door. Im assuming that the wireless charger is attached in some way to that door and needs to be removed? Or is it just something that comes along with the door and sits inside the door like in your application?

Apparently you beat me to the punch on the charging pad you're using. Thank you for that as well. Further proof that patience IS a virtue

I ordered a "Black QI Standard Wireless Charger Charging Pad+Receiver For Samsung Galaxy S5" from ebay. Under 10 posts otherwise I'd hyperlink.
Hasn't arrived yet but seems like a simpler solution?

I applaud your commitment OP, but...

My logical reason was because I had the parts and the coming soon of the official product led me to this 5 minute modification. Thank you.
Furthermore. I'd rather not wait 20+ days for delivery from Hong Kong for something I can get for $8.00 prime on amazon along with now needing to get a base charger after spending $18.00+.

Qi Wireless Charging Kit for Sony Xperia Z

just found this, would be nice, if more cases will get this function
http://au.mobilefun.com/38074-qi-wireless-charging-kit-for-sony-xperia-z.htm
nice!
Too expensive for a charger, but it's great they're already working on accessories like that
So it uses the pogo pins to charge? That's clever. Hopefully we see some cheaper versions around, otherwise two docks (One for home, one for Work) would be easier.
Not a good idea for people who wants to keep the phone naked.
I'm more interested in the dock I think. Not much difference in placing your phone on a pad or sliding into a dock

Yeah, works alright. Wireless charging is kinda limited to 600-700ma or if you tinker with some wires and solder you should be able to run around 1-1.1A of charging current.
To get wireless charging on the Verizon Note 2, you have to remove the back cover and solder 2 connectors or cut away the plastic concealing the 2 protectors - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slD48Zm_uBM&feature=youtube_gdata_player.

I think they are different. I got the SainSonic wireless charging pad and receiver for mySamsung S3, so far they workes well.
Yeah, it works well for me on my AT&T unit. Slow, but I use it overnight so it doesn't matter. I wish they would go ahead and release the damn OEM door already, because my charging pad comes loose now and then.

I have that but with the "Input: 5v -- 1000mA" model and it works like a charm with n7105. I understand that there is very thin 2013 model (color green) of the receiver that fits better than the one that we have. Just stick it at the back, secure the two metal connectors with tape so that it would continuously stick to the metal connectors of the phone, and it'll work.

I'm with you on wanting a new battery door. I hate the slight bulge on the back the charger coil creates. It doesn't affect the functionality but I'm a bit OCD so the fact that my phone is wobbly on a flat surface bothers the heck out of me.

mine does about 6-7% an hour, but you will have to solider a connection inside the phone
Sent from my SGH-T889 using Tapatalk 2
Works fine with the AT&T version of Note 2, a bit slowly ofcourse. I sorta stopped using it after a while cos.. the phone seemed to need to slign quite well with the charging pad, and I'm used to picking up the phone a couple of times at night to see the time or web browse (only kidding)... and if you don't replace the phone properly on the pad, it wouldn't charge...
In the end, I realised plugging in the mini USB just before going to bed isn't as big a deal as I thought it was when I was ordering the wireless charging pad.!!
are you sure about soldering?

[VIDEO REVIEW] Newisdom Qi/NFC Sticker for LG G4

Don't want to spend $60+ for the circle case, get this sticker for under $15 & keep your original back! Doesn't add bulk, but adds Qi Charging & keeps NFC working.
I'm confused, in your youtube post you or someone else states it works for an AT T G4 but the listing on Amazon states it does not.
Can you clarify?
Thanks

The upgraded version has bigger pins, some people were having issues with connection. Also doesn't need the little back sticker for a more secure adhesive to the back of the back cover.

Yeah I took the original nfc sticker off. Wonder if my charger is to blame. Just a little puck shaped charger, worked fine with the nexus 5, but the nexus had a flat back, my g4 naturally isn't making as big as contact with it due to the curved back.

@han4mi You have a smart charging feature on the edge force, can it manage when the adapter (not just the mod) starts and stops charging the internal battery? Or will plugging in have to top up every single time you plug in to charge the mod?
I'd like to use a battery mod as an alternative to wearing out the internal battery since the Z battery is sealed in tight. Even if I managed to only use the charge off the external battery most of the time, I'd still be using some unnecessary charge cycles if the internal battery topped off every time I plugged it in. Just curious. Thanks

Hi, the internal battery charging is handled by Motorola's software/ hardware, contained within the phone. As far as my knowledge goes, we can only control what we do with the mod, not the phone. I can ask the engineers about it, but there are no plans to include this feature in our mod for now.

Sorry but we cannot offer shipping to India due to air shipping regulations. We can only send the bumpers for now. This might change in the near future though

Do you have a picture of what the bumpers look like on the Moto Z Play? Will the volume and power buttons be covered by the case or look how it does on the Z? Also are they easy to press?

Each bumper is made for a specific phone model, as the dimensions are slightly different. This means precise cutouts and a perfect fit. The buttons won't be covered by the bumper.
40h left and we've almost hit the 25k $ stretch goal!
I have one of these bumpers on order... Hopefully it does ship next month as expected...
From which material bumper is made?
I ordered one

OK, I see now from the pictures.
My bad & literally, I don't think this is really worth it. I'd rather add the Qi sticker inside the battery. If you really keen to the adapter, then go for the Baseus.

Worth if you don't want to stick the plug all the time, you can just put yout smart on the desk and let it charge, without more cables. i'm thinking in buy 2 adapters and buy some double charger QI. for me and my girl.

I don't know if it is worth the hassle of opening the phone...

I think it really depends yourself if you're really interested to add the Qi wireless sticker. AFAIK, the Mi 8 is easy to remove the back, but the back cover is quite fragile.

I kinda am, but I don't want to open the phone.. It hasn't even arrived yet
im not sure if the back cover will fit after placing the adapter inside, the case will also hurt the cable with time i think (if no no connect it somehow inside) i was thinking in do the same, but after saw some withous about opening the back cover of the mi8 i dont want take the risk for open it and than it doesnt fit.
btw i use Nillkin adapter: https://www.aliexpress.com/store/pr...-more-waterproof-and/1709362_32809920986.html
(important, short version cz finger print sensor) best also in combination with: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Fre...Charger-Pad-Power-Bank-Built/32889041606.html
i recommended the linked seller, had no problem anmd very fast, official nillkin store i had trouble with shipping and adress ect (not recommended)

How do you add a Qi sticker inside the battery?
This method sounds interesting but quite difficult though
Do you think this Will ruin my mi 8 or it's battery?
