drm info - Motorola One Power Questions & Answers

So I've been asking this question on almost all the new phones' forums recently because it's never mentioned in any of the spec websites or the manufacturers website. None of the YouTube tech channels check it either except for one which he also forgets to do for some of the phones.
The question is.... Is this phone Widevine L1 certified?
Anybody who already bought the phone can check through downloading an app via playstore. App name is 'drm info'.
Screenshot would be appreciated for anybody who are looking for this particular feature in the next phone they're gonna buy. Thanks in advance guys.

At the launch, today, mentioned Widevine L1 certified.

I contacted LG for unlocked bootloader.

Hello there,
I just contacted LG support for a unlocked bootloader, and they answered.
I talked in dutch but Google Translate will help a lot.

Google Translate FTW. I really hope this phone gets unlocked soon. I'm planning on picking this up this weekend or next week. Price is too good to pass up on such a high end spec'd device.
Thanks OP for the info, but if the Google translation was remotely accurate, I didn't see anything that suggest LG has any plans to unlock it.
The LG representative only said that it's a new model and she assumes that some more updates will come. If I am not much mistaken she even said that she doesn't even know what a bootloader is.
In any case what were the OP doing talking to a woman about tech stuff?
j/k
Let's hope that LG will come clean with their updates.

Sonds to me more that she said "Update will come, don't know when, and no information about unlocked bootloader". I wouldn't be surprised if the local support people don't know anything about any update plans. It has always been like this with LG, tell nobody and suddenly it's there. Only chance might be that more support people file the user's wishes to LG and some intelligent people there get it done.
I think that the only way to get **** done is to contact Korean lg support.

I make sure that the boot-loader will be unlocked for LG O4X , but we need a little bit time to wait and contact LG Developers

I've read the transcript in Dutch and I've got the same feeling, so it's not the translation. It sounds like a "don't call us, we call you".

You can't unlock your bootloader after 22th July!

Received this notification that says the company no longer support unlocking bootloader after 22nd July. Attaching the screenshot here.
What you think? The future is dark?

If you already have your unlock code it should be fine.
If you don't you should still be able to use DC to get it.
But this is for current phones, for future ones we may not even get unlock code from DC (as P20 can not, for example)
Which ends the ROM scene.
No need to go and unlock it. No developer will support this phone ( or Huawei) for buy long..
Luckily, due to Treble, existing customers will not be left in the cold. Not sure what Huawei will gain from all of this though. They also lost me as a customer. And my friends, and my family.

Where's DC, what is this?
Just boycott their products : )
I think it makes sense for them to avoid users from unlocking their devices. I have seen several people returning their devices for installing custom stuff badly and then when they revert back to stock, some features are lost (again, for doing things the wrong way). Stupid people costs any company lots of money, ergo, they rather remove the feature and remain safe.
Any idea how to register for an account on the Huawei website? It doesn't give an option for the US (or Canada for that matter).

Is there any working method (free or paid) for unlocking the bootloader of P20 Pro?

Hi everyone!
I am wondering if there is still a way for unlocking the bootloader of P20 Pro.
Basically, as you might already know, Huawei has removed the "bootloader unlock" page from its website. The paid service (DU-Unlocker) also does not have the device listed in its supported models.
Is there any working method now in 2019 whether it is free or paid or as a service that can unlock the bootloader of this device?
Your help will be greatly appreciated.
I used this guy on eBay:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/fonzdirect
It took him a few days to do it, but it worked great!
Cheers
Steve

It would have been much better if you took a minute to share those posts here rather than finding it "funny". I sadly did not find those answers that you are talking about. Thanks anyway.

Hello, pardon me for inquiring further if you truly meant bootloader unlock code for p20 pro from "fonzdirect" on ebay, the seller you mentioned, as he does not provide bootloader unlock codes. His service only unlocks the SIM card to be used on other mobile phone carriers outside of U.K. "02 network", Vodafone, and perhaps others. I did not find his store to provide the service in which this thread is referencing. For the sake of accuracy, might you be conflating the two?
I have paid MinistryofSolutions the 30Euros on Christmas Day for the p20 pro bootloader unlock; however, that was the week his unlock services went down. I was refunded my money that same afternoon and have noticed the website reflect his no longer being able to provide the codes. I cannot justify paying a cent more for FunkyHawaii for what I will use it for. I simply want VoLTE and VoWiFI to be enabled on AT&T through property flags. Cheers.

Anyone tried HalabTech?
I've never dealt with them before and I don't want to risk paying to mess up my phone.
I'm not allowed to post links but googling "halabtech p20 pro bootloader" should get you there if you feel rich and brave.

Read some threads.... The informationis out there, there are better alternatives.
I have never seen a device be abandoned so much.. I'm not going to write everything I've already written again because people won't be bothered to look themselves, the info is there, have a look.

Abandoned by developers...100% true... Not only that but oppo/oneplus are locking these devices down. Unlocking the bootloader on the 10T is already an issue.
Think it's you who's confused pal

They're mostly referring to the fact that OnePlus, once developer-friendly, has reversed that stance and with every flagship phone, has found more and more new and exciting ways to make developers' lives a living hell. Hence, no developer support. Meanwhile, OP releases updates that only seem to break things more than anything else. Buyer beware, as they say.
