convert EVAtl 00 to EVAL09 - Huawei P9 Questions & Answers

Hi everyone,
I started a thread before [https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/help/european-rom-eva-tl00-t3605638] asking how to convert a chinese phone into european.
i couldn't get it working because i didn't have a boorloader code. now i do.
I'm reading on various threads, one thread says you can just flash a eva l09 onto the phone another says you have to change th oeminfo or it won't work.
i'm confused. what do i need to do to flash european frimware onto a chinese eva tl00 phone.
is there a step by step guide on how to do it?

You have to change oeminfo.
For rebranding (including oeminfo) use the tool HWOTA7 from
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/rebrand-update-tool-hwota7-p9-eva-t3820849
Look into the post #3 - skip the first part about unrooting and downgrading from Oreo (supposing you are not on Oreo).
Read also posts #1 and #2 in the same thread, they contain general usuful and detailed info about using HWOTA7 (although these two posts describe the opposite process, rebranding from EU to Chinese AL10)

thanks

Btw, per your other thread (two opened?!), you have dual SIM (is it?) EVA-TL00C01B377.
In that case you're still on Nougat - as needed for HWOTA7.
But then you can also use HWOTA7 to rebrand to EVA-AL10C00B399 (exactly as in the HWOTA7 thread), where from you upgrade to b528 Oreo.
As explained in the HWOTA7 thread, you can keep dual SIM functionality, you will have GApps (stock), debloated from Chinese apps, you can root it by Magisk and you can even flash treble OpenKirin AOSP ROMs (instead of stock).
It's all described in the HWOTA7 thread. Many of us have just rebranded from European Lx9c432 (Mediteranian and other custs) to Chinese AL10c00b528 because of otherwise we cannot and we would never have Oreo on P9.
So, it's strange that you go in the opposite direction.

lot of trouble

Of course, your phone, your choice.
I'm just saying that EMUI 8 (not 7) works great on that same P9, and fully in English, as on the screenshot

Same here!! EE is pesky, i wonder if there is a way to flash the stock huawei firmware.
I think you guys need to try searching the forum first before simply just posting a question and expect people to simply do the work for you. Also you post a question in the wrong section of the forum too.

Rebrand honor 9 lite from chinese frimware to Asian/Europe

Hi, I have purchased honor 9 lite mobile in China, it contains Chinese firmware (LLD-AL00). Google apps are not working, I am able to install apps from hiapp or through apk however after installation apps are not getting opened, so I want to rebrand to Asian (Indian) version (LLD-AL10). Can any one help me in re-branding phone?
Hi, I did have same probelm as you before, you may install a gms installer to activate google account as well as google play, as I'm a junior user so ca n not post link to you, you can search following keyword " 應用匯 gms 安裝器 " , it 's a 55M apk file, current version is 1.2
I believe final solution would be install a india rom to replace it, awaiting other fan to update if resource is available.

c185 firmwares always support google apps.
For flashing I plan to use the tool in this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-9/development/tool-flash-official-firmware-recovery-t3769279
Read it carefully, it has been used to flash several Huawei devices.
But so far I didn't get the oeminfo of this firmware so can't flash it because my device is from different region.
If you want to try do it at your own risk.
Thank you.
Hello,
I would like to change my phone from LLD-AL10 to European firmware, so I'm interested is there a way to use zip file from this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/9-lite/development/honor-9-lite-update-zip-lld-l31-8-0-0-t3767781 and can I simply put this file on my phone and run update or it's not that simple ... I'm new to this and for now I've managed to unlock bootloader following video tutorial from another thread.
Thanks
I'm still searching how to re brand phone to Europe version, so apparently I need something called OEM info, so is it available for honor 9 lite to download from somewhere?
Still the same for me. Buy a LLD-AL10 version, with no B20 band (800mhz). Is it possible to install LLD-L31 rom (stock) ? And does anybody know if it the same hardware (to have B20) ?
Best regards
seb
Hello,
Does anybody knows if I use Firmware Findert and download latest OTA update for european version (there are three files - update.zip, update_data_public.zip and update_LLD-L31A_hw_eu.zip), can I use these filese somehow to rebrand my phone or do I risk to brick my phone if I force these update to install?
Thanks
I’m also want to know how to flash from chineses rom to India or Europe version.
Mind is LLD-AL00 8.0.0.163(C00)
Why not install a generic AOSP instead of using firmware from a different region?. Honor 9 Lite is Project Treble supported. As advertised on XDA Features, AOSP brings out more juice from the device. This is just a recommendation as I haven't tried it yet, but it is on my to do list after the return period for my unit lapses.

Hi there
Thanks for you advice.
I want to use different regions because China version didn’t have google services and so many useless applications that I can’t remove.
Thanks
Paul
PS: I just read some aosp articles around here, seems it still have some unstable issues like camera and battery, so i’m still going after the original rom.
In fact, what kind of international version is he using instead of the China versions rom in this video? https://youtu.be/AyBX1YoHtMc

There seems to be no issue with the camera on AOSP, it's just that battery suffers a bit compared to stock EMUI. Again, this is based on the XDA review, so I cannot really vouch on how the AOSP-GSI performs on Honor 9 Lite. But if you're really looking to flash stock ROM from another location, there's no harm done in trying this one first to see if it is to your liking.
As for flashing firmware from other regions, read here (google translated). It's an alternative site I use to supplement the info I obtain here in XDA.

You can upgrade by HWOTA

So no way to update using the FirmwareFinder directly from that FW? I already run a lot of custom ROMs with Samsung and Motorola devices, it's my first Huwaei and I don't want to brick it...
(I'm from Brazil, but the phone was bought on Mexico or Colombia, I'm not sure)
Thanks,

Actually I see now you are on b135 which is probably MM EMUI 4.1 -in that case HWOTA as there will not work
I don't know about OTA upgrades from c605 b135, and why they don't come for you - but if you debrand to c432 you will have more options (OTA till b399 or even b502) and custom ROMs
Otherwise, DLOAD method must work for FullOTA-MF-PV versions (you can find FullOTA-MF-PV among older builds on FF) but you can't jump from b135 to b3xx, you must go gradually (people with c605 should know details)

Would you please tell me the Build Number of your phone (Settings.. /About phone)
I am asking, because it is a different situation if you are on Oreo, or if you are on Nougat.
And your original model is VIE-AL10 (not rebranded) right?
For further questions ask as @zgfg mentioned in the Rebrand Thread for VIE:

Okay..
Rebranding is not possible on Oreo - this could hardbrick your device.
For Rebranding to c185 or c636 you must downgrade to Android 7.
You can do it on this way:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77650687&postcount=4
Soon you are back on Nougat, you can use my Rebrand-Update-Tool HWOTA7 for VIE:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77650651&postcount=1
You need to download the oeminfo related Firmware (3 zip files, two renamed) and put it into the update folder.
Just read the Guide and follow the instructions.
It's so far the easiest way to do it.
But you will not have Oreo on Android 7, because it is only available for Chinese models.

[HELP] Upgrading from Resurrection Remix - Nougat to Android Oreo, 9 or 10.

I'm using Huawei P8 Lite 2017, with Resurrection Remix Custom Rom by Haky86, on Android Nougat.
I was hesitant to upgrade before (2017) because at that time, many phones were bricked trying to upgrade to Oreo.
There were also some Vendor complications (China & Europe) for custom roms in Oreo.
I remember there were Partitions A & B? I didn't know what were those about.
I also still remember a warning to not use the most up to date version of our Stock Oreo Rom for our phone when trying to install the default stock rom for treble support.
I still have my bootloader unlock code, bootloader is unlocked, rooted, I've also watched a YouTube video how to upgrade using TWRP.
All I need now is some assistance with what not to do, some links to point me in the right direction, some info with what I've missed during these years like is TWRP still the main recovery? Or something I should take note of.
Up? Anybody?
Re-up. I really just need some opinions, feedbacks or experiences really. Someone to chat with would be nice in this thread.

Wait, nevermind. I remember that it was only necessary since those versions were the only ones with Oreo updates before.
But now, PRA-LX2 has an Oreo update already, so it's not necessary to rebrand
