was the phone worth the price? - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Questions & Answers

I just got it through verizon. I could of bought it from ebay new for 800 something but paying 40 something a month for 24 months is just better for me at the time being even though its like 200 more. I absolutely love it! it really is a perfect phone at this point of time. I only got the 128 gb version. does the verizon version have roms and stuff? would you?

got the blue 128GB version from ATT
not a single regret will use for at least 4 years +
not looking to custom rom or even root it not even dev mode is enabled
I'm sick and tired of that stuff tbh ^^^ it just all werks now

Got a Black 128 N960FD, bought it outright.
It's certainly worth the money if you ask me, imo best android phone of 2018.
Would love to have the option to install a custom ROM, obviously it's possible on the N960FD but Samsung illegally voids the warranty if you do, so won't be happening for a while.

Yes, it's worth the money. True flagship not a crippled one.
Display is probably the best in the market with curved QHD+
Stereo speakers. OS liking is subjective but I like how Samsung has improved over the years from S3(my first flagship phone) with no lags.
Only downside coming to N9 from OnePlus is the charging time. It takes more than an hour to charge completely.

I got it for 700$ so I'm happy

56k INR and am not complaining

I got my blue 512GB for £949 direct from Samsung because of the mess around got £150 off which for me was brilliant. I only pay about £35 a month for it for 24months on the upgrade programme which definitely works out great no interest and then only have an £8 sim only deal. When I get round to trying to sell my oneplus 5 and put that towards the phone it should drop to about 25 a month aswell. I do feel it's a great phone. I've never really tried Samsung before. Charging is a pain plus I'm using wireless charge when ever I do and there have been 2 or 3 times already when I haven't placed it on my wireless dock properly so it's not charged. And I dont think battery life is what its cracked up to be tbh. But overall it's a very nice phone.

I love this device, BUT, if I hadn't of got 20% off the price, there is NO WAY I would of paid the full price. In my opinion, it is definitely not worth the stupid amount of money they are charging.

It's worth every penny! You just don't get such a complete package anywhere else. Pretty much no compromises. It felt like a decent upgrade from the Note8 which was excellent too. It's very significant, even though it's only an incremental upgrade! This phone just has everything I ask for in a smartphone. Signed my new work contract with the S Pen! How cool is that?!
I have the 128GB variant but I also have my 128GB Samsung MicroSD Card from my Note8, so I can't complain about storage!
Pre-Ordered it with EE for £68 / month with 60GB of Data and unlimited everything. Got Apple music for 6 months with it to replace my £10/month of Spotify or Google Play, so It's like £58 for the first 6 months.
Also, I found Apple Music better than both!

I paid about $600 (net cost after selling my Note8 on Swappa), and got a free AKG NC BT headset, free Dex station, free wireless Duo charger, and a free Note9 adapter for my previous Note8 GearVR. I'm happy with that combination. No complaints about the phone.

I've had this thing for two days now and yes, it is the only $1000 phone that actually justifies its price. Design, features, battery, spen, beautiful screen and stellar performance. Tried the iPhone Xs max for a couple of days and got bored with it the first 15 minutes. This phone is amazing. Not regretting any penny spent on it. Got it through tmobile for zero $ down at $850. Not bad. Gonna keep it for a while.

Blimey, that sounds awesome. I wish our carriers would offer that many bundles here in the UK.

I've got to admit I'm not bothered about modding it in any way. Touchwiz used to be so bad on older phones but now I think it's a dream

Worth the money? Heck yes.
I traded in my S9 with TMO jump, 0 down. Never owned a real flagship phone like the Note 9. Hands down best performance, speed, battery life I've ever had on any phone.
Once you go midnight black, you never go back!

Would you guys switch from a Note 8 to a Note 9? Debating since I like having the more internal storage.

Yeah it is worth it for more storage and a bigger battery

Was at first hesitant about upgrading from the note 8. After having done it, I'm pleased with the decision.

Coming from a Note 8 I'm happy. I gave my wife the Note 8 and traded her S8+ in that had quite a bad pink hue to the screen. I got the phone for $765 after taxes and trade in. This is the best bang for the buck for what's out there and no notch.

I upgraded from N8 to N9. No regrets here. It's not really that much of an upgrade. Day to day performance, you won't notice any difference. The camera is improved, and the Bluetooth S-Pen is cool. I actually like how the new pen feels in my hand. It's just a hair thicker. And I know EVERYONE had the Deep Ocean Blue color, but I love it. Absolutely beautiful color. And I personally like the contrasting yellow pen.
I paid $700 for mine on eBay. T-Mobile version. Barely used. It still had the factory plastic on the frame! And the original owner put a clear protective skin on the back and had a screen protector on it. So it was perfect. All new unused accessories and a Speck Grip case. It was a great deal!!

I kept my Note 8 as my backup phone, and sold my Pixel 2 XL.

AT&T Price

I'm surprised by the price; $739.00 Heck, before they lowered the price of the Note 4 recently, it was almost $900. I figured it would rival the previous notes without the features. It's actually a couple hundred dollars less if my memory serves me correctly. Course now when you buy the 32 gb that's what you are stuck with.
What is also odd is the Edge+ is more expensive. I guess its all do to the display. Honestly I don't see the worth in the extra money, but to each their own.

How is that odd? The S6 Edge was also more expensive and yes it has everything to do with having the curved screens.
T-mobile has the note 4 at $549 and yet ATT is charging $685. Can't figure it why att is charging so much
I also saw the price difference and was pleased. Honestly, if the sealed battery (which is replaceable, but not USER replacable, the s6 can get a new battery for $45 or free if it has less than 80% of designed capacity within the first year), and the loss of the IR blaster and SD card is the difference then I say cut them all out. I am going to get the 64gb version, and cut my NEXT plan from 18/24 to 12/20 (So I can upgrade next year too!) and it will only go up a couple of dollars from what I am paying now.
Since this forums need some good news on the features conversation...
you add, the wireless charging (BOTH standards!), Samsung Pay (could be a huge protection from data breaches... don't know why it is being dismissed/ignored by so many) a much cooler air command and better pen accuracy (I use the pen daily) the ability to take notes on the blank screen (most of my pen use is quick notes) and the ultimate feature... the death of the lag on the recent apps button!!!!! (I really, really want to use it on my Note 4, but it is just painful, the only way a phone/note device is handy is if it is faster and better than a post it.)
Sign me up, I'm in!
Yes note 4 yas $825 when launched.
AT&T charges a ton for full retail for some reason, normally the base model Note 5 should be $699.
Note 5 64gb is $792 on Verison and $840 on AT&T

What's your next device? Note 7 or something else?

I'm assuming a lot of you are like me, and have had the Note 4 close to 2 years now- close to paid for... wondering if anyone is considering getting a Note 7 or something else and why?
I was all excited about upgrading to a Note 7 but the limited research I've done based on the S7 is the bootloader will probably be locked meaning no root, no roms, etc... so now I'm not sure if I just stick it out a while long with my Note 4 or look elsewhere for another device? (nexus ###?)
Comments appreciated.

It's a pain in the butt shopping for where to go from the Note 4. Where, oh where, is it's successor? I so hate the idea of a non-replaceable battery. Maybe, if it wouldn't be too grueling to take my next "sealed" phone apart to replace the dang thing. The next big screen Nexus? Arrrgggghhhhhh!
Well if I didn't just post a lengthy reply to a similar question in the Intl. forum! (In fact I did; this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/general/moving-to-flagship-t3404126 my ramblings are the first post on page 4 ) Bullet points:
* I think the Note 4 is (still, 2 years in) a great device and I plan on keeping mine after making my last few payments. It will be a super fancy universal IR remote... ...among other things Definitely no shortage of ways to repurpose an old/extra Android device.
* I really hope the upcoming Nexus has expandable storage... I could see that happening this year with Google's "adoptable storage" (and other OEM's failing to... adopt it ) It's equally possible that I just really want that to happen. Either way, if it does, the larger screen version will be my next phone.
* The Note 7 looks beastly and if it doesn't have a locked bootloader I might go for it. The thing is, I'd really like to avoid buying anything from TMO aside from service... ya know, "vote with my wallet" against their abysmally late updates. I have a "new" Tab S2 TMO variant that's now the only model of that tablet that hasn't been updated to MM yet, making it as well as my N4 dead last (including other carriers) to receive the 10 month old OS. No way I can throw down up front for a $$$ N7 though, and I did do a couple of exchanges with the TMO insurance that were super easy, so bootloader unlocked = maybe, locked = not. a. chance. (not that I'd ever pay money for a "computer" that locks me out from self-administration, but particularly since I trust TMO 0% wrt updates and may need to handle that myself.)
* Option 3 = ??? Hoping to find the following: strong/friendly development community, expandable storage, >= 5.5" quality display, standard headphone port (IMO it's ridiculous that dropping this is becoming "a thing" w/o a superior replacement), and "good" battery life. Hopefully not asking too much in 2016, sure was in 2015.
Currently leaning towards a Nexus I suppose... not really in any rush to move on from the N4. Oh and definitely agree @steven.m - sealed battery = planned obsolescence but (clearly) any phone without a completely impractical metal unibody is simply not "PREMIUM" enough for... something something... of today! Note that a removable battery isn't even on my "wish list"... I was trying to make it realistic
I'll keep this N4 until it's dead. Then I'll most likely look at Nexus, HTC or Moto devices. About the only thing I'll miss is the WiFi calling.

Xiaomi Mi Max for me
Xiaomi Mi Max 6.5 inches of Android goodness, plus removable battery and sd card support. Samsung has iphoned their way out of my hands. If I wanted a iphone I would have bought a iphone, but such is life. Wife has s7 edge and she keeps telling me it is the worst phone she has ever owned. With that in house review why would I buy a Note 7?

Edit: Hmmm.... love the size of the screen, but not QHD.... and battery not removable. Close, but I dunno.

Yes, and the capacity can be battery capacity can be maximised this way since they don't have to make provisions for the battery to be removed.
I think I'm done with Samsung for now. Waiting for the Note 4 MM update this long and the fact that they basically abandoned the Galaxy Tab Pro six months after they released it have really turned me off.
I think I'll be trying one of the 'upstart' manufacturers. I've been considering the Huawei Mate line for a while now, but their software has always been a drawback (but at least they update it). Now I've been reading that they are making software and their EMUI skin a priority as they attempt to break into the US/NA market. I look forward to seeing what they've got. Also, T-Mobile specific versions of any phone seem to not get nearly as much development, which is understandable. But I think I'll get an unlocked international phone next time.
I will be keeping my Note 4 (just like I still have my Note 3) for use with the virtual reality headset that I will be getting. It still has enough processing power and a very good screen resolution for that type of activity.
I'm thinking about the zenfone 3 ultra 6.8inch monster lol
The note 7 isn't on my radar, I too am think of going with a nexus if it has a memory card slot but all of this won't be for a while as I just traded in my s7 ( which was part of bogo ) and got my note 4 back that I jumped about 6 months ago. I missed it so much I will keep it for ever, even after its paid off. I also have the s7 edge which just became rootable so I might play with it for a while but it's my work phone and I have until November before I can jump again but it won't be a Sammy phone. I don't really like the s7 edge as those edges are a real nightmare unless you have a case on it you will have accidental touches that will drive you crazy. I'll hold on to my note 4 until next year and then start looking.
I didn't realize the s7 had been rooted

I have the Honor 5x which is from Huawei also., bought it a few months to test, for $200 premium looking, metal casing, 2 sim slots and external sd... but no removable battery and we are supposed to get MM any day now..
but yes I think I want a google phone, but it has to have external sd, maybe I can deal with non removable battery, but who knows. and they better start lowering prices of phones, they would sell more and sell every year selling at about $500.. that's just me thinking out load.. :silly:
because I have my father in law had the S2 very outdated and giving him problems.., so off went my note 3 which was my sons, so he plays with it,
I started with HTC, had almost every single phone till the M7, then moved to Samsung from S2, S3, Note 2, 3, 4.. and on the Notes had 2 of each, for me and my wife.. also with the M7.. I have paid to much on phones and then they don't take care of the updates which the dev do it better than Samsung is very disappointing since manufacturing them is really under $200 coming from the take downs of the devices.. way to much profit, then they expect us, to buy new phones every year...
try to return a new phone u buy in T-Mobile, they offer u half of less after 3 or 4 months then they sell it back as certified phones for double than what they paid getting it back from you... really sucks..
remember a phone is for making phone calls......
I have a pc, laptop,
2 tablets Samsung as well, and they stop with the updates after a year. u get lucky maybe give it a year 2 or 3 months...
super surprised about this MM update on our phones giving that we are almost on our 2 year.. very surprised, guess they are trying to say we will support them longer... remember Note 4 came with KitKat, then Lollipop, and now MM... wow....
darn even apple updates the phones till the older phones can't except the updates to slowing it down or not enough space left..
opps rambling, let me stop... haha
This is a good question I guess it depends on if note 7 comes with 820 or something better I won't buy a 820 phone there are cheaper options with same processor. Im thinking Nexus. But if note 7 has 4000mah battery it may get my money. My last 2 Samsung phones have had bad gps

I am getting to the point where I can no longer justify spending $650-700 on a phone. You're right, there are so many decent options now for half the price.
I'm waiting to see what the Nexus phone phones are like this year. I'm hoping they'll have a nice premium phone this year. The 6P was a nice start. HTC may kick it up another notch. Rumors are that Google wants a phone that will directly compete with the iPhone. Well see if that happens. I've had only Samsung smartphones (Galaxy S, Note 2, note 4, galaxy light). It's time for something different
Jeez the note 7 is going to be almost 1000.

Agreed... but then again, do I have enough time to monkey around with ROMs again? Realistically - no. If I get an Android device again, I'm just going to have to get the latest Nexus. I'm tired of TW and trying to hack things to make them behave like I want them to...( I'm looking at you NFC icon ).

What are your choices for upgrading from note 4?

I decided the note 7 wasn't for me. Thankfully. I would have hated to end up with an exploding one (my luck).
So my family all got iPhone 7 plus(es) and now of course I have the itch for a new phone also... With 2 payments left on my note 4 (about $60)...they're worth about $200 so I'll probably just keep my note 4 perhaps as a remote control if nothing else.
Now the question to all of you, what are viable replacements?
The Pixel Xl didn't impress me with the exception of unlimited full res Google photos.
The LG v20 looks nice, but not sure about the IPS lcd screen - no amoled? Really?
I wouldn't consider a s7/edge since it's successor is just a few months out at this point.
What other phones are worth considering? Or why would the LG v20 be a logical choice?
Let the discussion begin.

Go for s7 edge or nexus 6p the best tiĺl now in my opinion.
I'm in the same boat. I really want the Phab 2 Pro, but that processor...... Gimme that phone with the sd820 or better and I'm all smiles. I'll likely end up with one of the funky Chinese phones if the LTE bands match up. They're actually putting together decent stuff at a decent price. Or, the v20 if the pre-order extras are good
There is NO upgrade for the Note4. If it doesn't have Amoled, SPen, removable batery / Micro SD, and touchwiz, then I don't consider it an option. I most likely keep my Note4 until it dies.

$200 for a phone on contract? That's a good deal. We don't get those affordable rates here in Jamaica. If so be the case, I'd have paid the $200 upfront and be done with it.
No not on contract... The current price of the note 4 on ebay is anywhere from $175 to $250 (usd) that's complete... On contract when I got this phone is 2014 it was like $750? I think.... I've been paying $32 a month for it for 22 months... I've 2 got payments left.
Looked on ebay earlier and saw one seller had some for $148 unlocked (again, on ebay)
I've been looking at the LG v20 reviews and stuff on YouTube. And I'm not sure I could call it a good enough upgrade for $800 usd!
It's a cool phone, but.... Yeah is sd820, and yeah it's HD audio, and yeah the extra little screen is all cool but just about everything it does the note 4 does too.... 4k video, 16mp camera (note 4), qhd amoled note 4 not ips lcd on the v20. The reviews are good but I dunno.
I guess I'll wait and see what 2017 brings to the table.
I am with you, on my last payments as well and have the itch beyond the itch, but really nothing out there. The wife has the S7 Edge and all she does is complain about it, but it is not rooted, debloated, etc...It might be the next one for me, or like you hang on till 2017 models start coming out. Honestly, think Samsung will figure things out so a Note 8 does not scare me, but must be packed to gills with tech and the latest and greatest processor.
I'm itching for the v20. But I have this feeling the next Samsung 2017 phone is going to be amazing.

Are you planning to upgrade ?

So the OP5 is coming soon, we have few leaks about it but are you thinking about an upgrade ? Or you will keep this beast for one/two more years ?
I just got mine yesturday so i plan on keeping it till at least the 6 comes out.
I'll upgrade if the specs are good. 2k screen with a good camera and easily unlockable with good dev support. If not I'll get a new different phone either the international Note 8 version with unlocked bootloader or the new Pixel.
Just saw the news said they drop support for the op2. Hope OnePlus won't drop the software update support on op3t. Otherwise I will use 3t until op6 comes out.
Nah, I´m really happy with the change from a Nexus 6P to the 3T. The only downside is the camera at night and to be honest with myself I don´t use the camera enough to justify an upgrade. I love the 1080 screen, 6gb ram (especially at the beta, app management is the best on any android phone I´ve experienced). And regarding android upgrades, as long as i get security patches I´m happy. Google seems to f#ck things up more and more along the road..
I didn't buy 3T to upgrade it just after the next gen comes. Like seriously, the purpose of all those specs like 6GB of RAM is to last long and endure technological evolution process as well.
BTW I had an opportunity to get my hands onto S8 recently and even for free I wouldn't swap these devices even though 3T is from the previous generation of flagships (which apparently means nothing in this case).
I have the 3T since January. No reasons to upgrade. I'll keep it for 2 years, I hope.
not yet, unless the OP5 is groundbreaking
Maybe
Oh I'm upgrading but def not to the OP5. Probably gonna grab an S8+ pretty soon and then the Note 8 when it comes out. I only buy OPs if I need a new phone and there's nothing out that interests me. They are great interim phones, for sure.
If it'll be under 500€ i'll buy it
Im going to go with a solid maybe. Normally i dont buy phones for cameras. Never have never will. but im very interested in this things camera, those picture samples leaked are SOOOOOOO damn good looking. Normally id reach for my nikon but holy moly the detail. You know youve got a good camera if you can see the scales on a strawberry. The 835 sounds amazing 6gb ram is super useful and if that new leak is true with the 30 minute full charge on dash, thats a buy right there just for the charging feature. My lord-y thats just smartphone bliss right there. Forget battery banks imagine what you can get in a 5 minute charge. Theyll change the tag line to a whole days power in a 10th of an hour.

But if the camera is the only *major* upgrade, while you still consider buying it or you will just keep the 3T ?
Its a low chance that is the only major upgrade. They will definitely be using the 835 or hopefully even thr 850 if its delayed enough.

They've already confirmed it will use snapdragon 835. That's about a 10% performance increase over snapdragon 821.
I do belive that the 5 is a good idea. Im sure they way they use the 835 it will be more than 10%
I've owned alot of phones in my time, but the OP3t is hands down my favorite. The OP5 is gonna have to bring a lot more then just a camera upgrade for me to drop 500 bucks on it.
If the price is between $400 & $450, I'll buy immediately. If it's qHd I'll buy immediately, below $600. If the materials are new (ceramic) I'll buy immediately.
If not, I'm going to wait and see what the Note looks like. Or the Mate.
I love this phone and only got it in March or something.

If you just got it in March no need to upgrade in my opinion, your phone is still new

Anyone jumping ship?

So it's that time of year again when a new and honestly beastly lime of Samsung flagships is announced. The Galaxy S20 line looks legitimately promising but is it enought to give up the Note 9 and S pen though? Or are you gonna wait to see what the Note 20/+/Ultra has to offer a few months down the line.
I wanna see everyone's view on these new phones that ol Sammy has announced. I'm personally on the fence. I want the new tech but I just know the Note line will blow it out of the water later this year so it leaves room for a potential bait and switch lol.
What about you all?
Note line for me. Still have my Original Note1,2,3,4,5,FE,8,9,10...gonna see what Note11(20) has in store. If anything like the S20 I I'm sure it will be a beast.

It'll most likely be even more of a best but I'm still on the fence to be honest. Like I want to check out the 20 Ultra but I know it's be upset if I got it and then the note big brother died up later lol

What do you mean
Note line as long as the hole in the screen is gone. Nothing about the S line has ever really want me to part with money.

I'm intrigued with just about any new midrange to flagship phone that comes out.
However, I usually steer clear of the S lineup for a few reasons.
1) No S-Pen. I rarely use it, but, it's nice to have when you want/need it. The price difference between the top of the line S series & the Note is negligible considering you get the S-Pen & usually some newer hardware/software features.
2) I don't particularly care for the curves on the S series, preferring the boxier look of the Note.
3) The hole punch. Yeah, you can (probably) hide it, just as you can on the Note 10, but, that kinda sux that you sacrifice screen real estate for a cleaner look. The fact that all the marketing pix hide it w/dark gradient wallpapers & having a software option to hide it is an admission that it's an awful stopgap before the hidden FFC's are available.
I'd be lying if I said I'm not tempted to get the S20 Ultra. The 5G speeds alone are definitely appreciable, both the Note 10 & OP7T Pro are definitely snappier with it. However, the eye-watering price of $1400-$1600 USD is a hard pill to swallow.
The only way I'll jump ship is if pre-order trade-in offers on the carriers (T-Mobile US here) is a lot better than the $300 that Samsung is offering. Otherwise, I'm hanging on to the Note 9 until the Note 20 arrives, or longer. Mine is running just as well as it did on opening day & battery health is still around the 95% range, kinda hard to trade it in for the measly $210 that T-Mobile is currently offering. (Not particularly interested in bothering with listing it on Swappa & the like, last time I checked, way too many available for sale,it's a buyer's market)
In the meantime, I scratched my itch for new hardware yesterday.
T-Mobile slashed the price of their Pixel 4 lineup:
Pixel 4XL was $899,sale price as of 2/12/20: $499.
Pixel 4 was $799,now 50% off as of 2/12/20: $399.
Got it (4XL) on T-Mobile's JOD, $0 down & free overnight shipping, ETA 2/14/20.
Will use it as a daily driver for the first week or two, long enough to determine if it's a keeper (for a backup/secondary phone) or, send it back during the buyer's remorse grace period.
Is the S20 worth getting?
I wouldn't fault anyone who doesn't want to wait for the next Note to land, but, I'd definitely stay away from the smallest one, as it doesn't have the MM Wave variety of 5G. Yeah, I know 99% of the US doesn't even have it available, present company included, however, @ $1000, no sale here.

Still loving my note 9. I see no reason to upgrade. Note9 still is peak smartphone for me. Note 10 was a step backwards (I don't like notches or holes in my display, and I like my headphone jack).
Note 11 or 20 or whatever likely isn't an upgrade for me either. Note 9 still goes two days on a charge unless I game on it, still fast as when I bought it, and still takes great photos. I'll wait until some of that changes.
My wife and I might be switching to something a little more stock related later this year. Just tired of bloat, crappy support when it comes to issues, and definitely something a lot cheaper. Maybe if Google does things right, I might just get two Pixel 4a/XL or whatever when they eventually come out? Not sure to be honest. OnePlus is now up there with the big guys in pricing so that might not happen. Don't know, but I do know that I will be keeping my Note 9 as a backup.

Fam, please don't start that here. That subject has been killed by dark matter long after humans were wiped out the first time around.

I'm gonna try my best to keep my 9 but I can't do pixels only because Google refuses to put in a micro SD card slot. That and the specs don't ever really impress me. There's never a wow factor. Besides it being stock Android there's nothing cool about it

C'mon man it's basically the truth. Why are there so many similarities then if Google supposedly didn't clone iOS 12?

Did you know cars have 4 wheels, and some even have 3? Brakes, windows, and engine, some gas, electric, diesel, and now hydrogen? They even have lights. Whoa. Wait, they should stop cloning each other!!!! I want a car without disc brakes!!! Needs to use polarity transfer for stopping before I buy it....
Bruh, it's called competition. You have to use some of the likeness of your competition if you're trying to tell their customers, "hey you can do the same thing over here, but a little cheaper." Well, you don't have to, but it sure makes it easier to win. I don't know what to tell you man. Go buy a windows phone? Oh wait those are the same too....
By the way, at the core of ios and android....same architecture...tsk, stupid clones, they're even using the same screens...?

Yeah, the one thing I hate about the pixels is the affordability no longer really being a bumped compared to my Note 9. Putting shiny wrapping on a turd doesn't make it hot sh....you know where I'm going with this.
Luckily for me, my wife doesn't even use the spen, so I just need to make sure I get her a phone that's compatible with xfinity mobile that won't cost an arm and leg. ?

Not liking the price though, it's getting to the point where it's outside my price range, no justification in spending so much on a pocket pc that can be damaged, lost or stolen so easily...
And the note lineup is gonna be so much more expensive than the S20 variants...
Nope, kinda pissed that the plain note 10 is smaller than the 9 the 10+ is the same size as the 9 so you pay more for less? I kind my full rounded screen. The notch hole punch, whatever their doing these days. I like having a whole screen. The biggest thing for me is personalization. You look at iPhone and everyone has the same layout and everything. With Android is free reign. I like being in control of my device more so than the other way around

Exactly!
I may skip yet another year in the Note upgrade game, & this is coming from someone who got the Note FE (still have it).
The Note 10+5G (T-Mobile US) is a beast,warts & all.
However, while the 5G speeds are nice,if you have already fast 4G LTE &/or Wi-Fi most of the time, it's a hard sell when you have a perfectly fine Note 9 & that's why I returned mine during the buyer's remorse period.
If the Note 20 is priced much more than the S20 Ultra, I'll probably sit out another upgrade & will continue to do so until my Note 9 battery takes a nosedive....

I'm actually waiting to see what Samsung does with the new note. I just came from IOS to Android and I've always loved the Note series but I couldn't afford the Note 10 + currently so i got the note 9 for like $350 and it's so damn good. By the time Samsung announces the new note I should be financially stable enough to get it on launch day so I'll be patient and continue to use this beast of a phone.
Ladies and gents the Note 9 is the goat! When the 10 came out with the hole punch I was not loving it but I tried the 10+ before I bought the 9 I was using my note 8 which was great but the battery was poor life otherwise note 8 was great. So the note 10+ I bought was having very poor reception and when I was gaming some of my buttons were near the hole punch and it was effecting game performance so I looked at note 9 specs and seen that it's the last note with headphone jack no hole screen and 4000mah battery! Plus when I had finally decided to upgrade from note 8 the 9 had been out a year and a half so the prices were coming down, I bought not 1 but 2 note 9 from Samsung on ebay for 349.99 brand new! I am fully prepared for this to be the last phone I ever use...
