Where did you get this information? Mate 20 cannot get this feature because it doesnt have 3d front camera like Mate 20 Pro.

Netflix HD and HDR for Mate 10 Pro now available.

https://www.androidpolice.com/2018/05/16/netflix-hdr-support-arrives-sony-xperia-xz2-huawei-mate-10-pro-p20/
According to multiple sources Netflix has finally added the Mate 10 Pro to it's HD and HDR list of supported devices.
Anyone already tried it? Unfortunately I don't have the more expensive UHD/HDR subscription.
m10 pro BLA-L29 C432 with B142 from early May.
does not work.... have the premium subscription...
I have the premium subscription and it is still not even looking like 720p. Compression artefacts are horrible. No hdr.
Mate 10 Pro with Netflix Premium here... No HDR
Friend had his Note 8 and Annihilation showed HDR, mine did not. Compression far more evident on the Mate 10 ?
Just US version Works
https://help.netflix.com/en/node/23939
Netflix only supports HD and HDR on two variations of the Mate 10 Pro.

Youtube HDR - Mate 10 Pro

Hi all
Maybe I am wrong, but some time ago I could not see HDR mark on the video in YT,
Now with the latest updated (from 21 May) it seems that new app supports HDR on Mate 10 Pro
HDR is working now on YouTube app.
And I want to mention that I've compared mate 10 pro display with samsung S8 plus and S10 plus playing hdr videos and the result is that Mate 10 pro has the most beautiful display, collors are more realistic, there is a huge difference..... Mate 10 pro display is better than samsung one, the clarity is superiour, collors more realistic and it is an oled pannel too. I can't believe that mate 10 pro display is soo good, I'm a Samsung fan but Mate 10 pro impressed me.

They may have some different displays' settings, you've got it?
So, it's a tnin matter – the real test on the same settings.
And we know nothing about yours, dude.

As long as he is happy lol. Anyways its mostly subjective.... nobody cares about some HDR video testing. to this date HDR is barely available for normal youtube content nor other apps etc. so who cares? In the end any decent oled screen with decent brightness will do the job.

Displays were set to vivid to all the phones. Mate 10 pro showed more realistic collours. Test it yourself and see if I am right.
My phone is Mate 10 pro bla l09 single sim model.
The other two phones are from some of my friends.
Galaxy s8 plus refreshes at 1080p with hdr, and at 4k with hdr it runs even harder. Galaxy s10 plus works well in both resolutions. Iven the display resolution is higher on samsung phones the clarity and the colour calibration is better in my mate 10 pro, in my opinion.

Huawei Mate 10 Series Will Get The P20 Pro’s “Long Exposure Without Tripod” Feature

I`ve heard the Mate 10 Series will get the P20 Pro`s "Long Exposure Without Tripod" feature via update.
Du you guys have any information on this? When can we expect this update?
Here`s the link:
https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/05/30/huawei-mate-10-series-will-get-the-p20-pros-long-exposure-without-tripod-feature-via-update/
Yeah I saw this 2 weeks ago.
And I bought Mate 10 right after this news.
But well...
No more info sadly
I think that latest Chinese firmware of Mate 10 Pro has the tripod long exposure shot added.
You guys can check changelogs on FirmwareFinder web site.

wont hold my breath for the USA variant.
What version of the mate 10 has 8.0.0.145 come out for so far? I just received .134 last week in Australia on my BLA-L09 . Can only imagine how long i will be waiting for .145. I go on a month long holiday overseas in 6 weeks, i need this feature before then so am seriously considering FunkyHuawei to get it.

Not dead, just very slow.
We're on April Security patch and no updates since.
I guess it is related to Huawei's decision on pulling out from the US market. National security may be a good reason/execuse to reject Huawei from biding the network infrastructer developments but it doesn't make sense to banning them from entering the consumer market.
Politics aside, I have an A09 and really need the hand held nighshot update in 2 weeks for a vacation. Hope I can figure out a way to rebrand it to a Chinese model.
I took some quick shots just to test it, I hope to have time tomorrow to put it to test in a more photogenic scenario.
But let's get something out of the way first, because I see the following question / complaint coming up already.
"Oh but the P20 pro takes much better night pictures, Huswei promised us a night mode and gave it half backed"
This is the B145 firmware for the C432 region, it's not released and as it sometimes happens it might never be, even if they release this firmware, nothing stops Huawei from fine tunning the software in future updates.
The P20 pro has a bigger sensor that's capable of absorbing more light and it has a bigger Pixel count so Pixel binning will result in a better picture if the software is doing it's job properly.
Last but not least, unless you have both phones comparing side by side, you cannot say that one is better than the other by looking a pic some reviewer took in Paris and comparing one you did in your back yard.
As for the software interface, no we haven't got the P20 camera interface, you will still need to swipe from left to open the mode menu and choose night mode.
As for the software it self, it's not magical, it compensates small hand movements that even the steadiest hand will have trying to hold a phone for 4 seconds, it won't perform any miracle if you don't keep steady or of the object is moving.
Comparison between auto mode and night mode.
Will have better samples over the weekend, I'll try to have the files up tomorrow on Onedrive if anyone wanna look at them.

the p20 pro night mode did not blur photos when holding by hand unless you're having a sneeze attack.
To me this doesn't look any different than the normal night mode that came with the mate 10 pro.
I dont think the AI stabilization has been applied. Possibly the change log is wrong about the camera improvements.
Is there actually a new mode to select or does it just upgrade the night shot? To me it doesnt look that great either :/

I understand what you mean but on version 145 I haven't felt any chenges made..
The photo can still take up to 22 seconds and its still gdts blurry holding by hand
Can you check to see if an extra mode was added. It might not be Night Shot, there maybe a new mode???

I played very little with the P20 pro, but aside of the clear hardware differences, and maybe some more optimization in stichting the frames, I see a similar result, besides the college that owns the P20 pro managed to take quite a lot of blurry picture, specially when the phone decides for a longer exposure on extreme situations.

Like I've said here on top, I see a similar result on the way it works.
I've tried using night mode before and it was unusable holding it on hand, even with a tripod slightly movements due wind would result in blurry pictures.

You always have the option to sell it and get something better.
The only difference is the way the interface looks, on the P20 pro the most used modes are on a slider in de botton like on the iPhone, in the Mate it's a separated menu.

The stabilization only works in automatic mode, if you set a slower shutter manually will not work

3D Panorama app for P30 Pro

Guys, someone kindly port the 3D panorama feature from P20pro to P30 pro,
It's a pretty useful feature.
