[ROM] [T713/T719/T813/T819] [Unofficial] [8.1] Resurrection Remix OS 6.2.x (DISCONT.) - Galaxy Tab S2 Android Development

Resurrection Remix the ROM based on Lineage, Slim, Omni and some original code. see http://www.resurrectionremix.com/
for
Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 Wi-Fi (2016) - SM-T713 (gts28vewifi)
Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 LTE (2016) - SM-T719 (gts28velte)
Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 Wi-Fi (2016) - SM-T813 (gts210vewifi)
Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 LTE (2016) - SM-T819 (gts210velte)
have fun, no guarantees, there's always the sun (for at least some time from now)
Requirements:
- might need to update to latest stock beforehand, reports indicate that eg. T713 bootloader needs to be updated to version T713XXU2BQCO (or newer)
- twrp 3.2+ (https://twrp.me/Devices/Samsung/)
- backup everything before install to be on the safe side
- wipe system, data when upgrading from another ROM
Install:
- flash RR-O-v6.x-<date>-<model>-Unofficial.zip in TWRP
- flash gapps (arm64 8.1) if you want them (see Gapps note below) - https://opengapps.org/
- flash Magisk 17.2+ if needed - https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445
- wipe both Dalvik Cache and Cache
Gapps note:
Google apps should be installed via recovery immediately after installing ROM.
If you reboot into ROM before installing Google apps, you might need to factory reset and then install them again, otherwise expect FCs. Deleting storage (in Settings/Apps) for Google Play Services, Store, Google Services sometimes helps.
Not working:
T719/T819 - no SIM card detected, reason so far unknown
Known issues:
- brightness slider has no effect when auto is on

@LuK1337, @luca020400, the teams of LineageOS, Resurrection Remix, Omni, Slim, @Icewyng, @orfik building RR 6.x for T713/T813 previously
Wanna do it yourself, here is how i did it:
1. setup build env on a debian box as described here (via scripts) https://github.com/ResurrectionRemix/platform_manifest#refer-to-scripts-to-setup-build-env
2. created build folder, repo init, repo sync as described here https://github.com/ResurrectionRemi...r-where-the-rr-repo-will-be-stored-and-synced
3. (new) updated attached roomservice.xml contains all modified repos. simply place it in .repo/local_manifests/
continue with step 6.
3. added
.repo/local_manifests/roomservice.xml
(attached) to make the device known
4. ran repo sync again to include repos for this device
5. added device/samsung/gts210vewifi/rr.(dependencies,mk) (see github device trees) to RRify the just downloaded device tree
6. setup ccache https://github.com/ResurrectionRemix/platform_manifest#setting-up-ccache
7. tune jack https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/gts210vewifi/build#configure-jack-1
8. init environment
Code:
source build/envsetup.sh
9. check if device is there
Code:
breakfast gts210vewifi
and finally
10. start build
Code:
brunch gts210vewifi

Changelog:
2018-11-11
- refreshed sources
- fixed button backlights and reassignment [via ugly Settings hack]
2018-11-06
- refreshed all sources
- push RRified device trees and Settings app to https://github.com/bdhay
- ported multicolumn settings dashboard from Omni

Frequently asked questions - FAQ
Q: How's idle time battery life?
Does this ROM have the same battery drain (when idle) issue as current Lineage builds?
the ROM is lineage 15.1 based and has no custom kernel, so if there is a drain it most likely exist here as well.
reports show that having a t813 laying around it loses maybe 10-15% a day. you can do the math.

No exynos device i see. Is really that hard developing for them, i know

Thank you friend for providing this for us.
I haven't yet flashed a ROM on this tablet, mainly due to battery usage concerns. However that's not based on first hand knowledge.
Cheers

on which device?

Thank you very much indeed...nice to jump to Oreo on the T819 device...

Thank you for this. It has been awhile since I tried RR. This one is exceptionally smooth and quick. Only thing I've noticed that isn't working (for me) is whenever I close up the cover on my T813 the screen doesn't shut off. I have to tap the Power button to turn it off. Not a big deal, just wondering if there is a setting somewhere that I'm missing??...like I said, I haven't used RR in a while, and maybe this was an issue before...I just don't remember.

what's your device?
yeah, for some weird reason is FlipFlap, the LineageOS app for this, not included per default. will include it in some next build and you can report back if it enables the cover on/off. check the changelog i'll mention it.

How's idle time battery life? I'd love to give this a try!
Thanks!

Hmm... this looks really interesting, actually I think this is great news for T819 owners (very little for us around so far).
Can anyone please confirm that phone, mic and bluetooth work fine in the T819?

not intentionally, no. can't check it though, no lte version at hand.
is it missing as Quick Settings button only or also in the Settings app?

it is missing in both locations. i am on a workaround now using WIFI direct and pdanet+ app.

The hotspot option is unavailable both in the quick settings and the main settings. Oh, and SIM cards are not detected. My tablet is a T719.
Apart from these bugs, this build is excellent; snappy, with a million and one configuration options, which I particularly like.

Will try this rom and give you a feedback ...
Hi, I wanna give you a quick feedback after 1 hour on the thor rom...
1) after the installation (did a factory reset) it comes with a bluethoot error and the service doesnt work.
I did a restart and switched it on ... off ... on ...off the first and secound time bluethooth seems to work (but did'nt make a link) but after that the service didnt come back.
2) After I switch off the display I have to reboot to get it back. So I only get a blackscreen with backlight.
3) Rotation works well but a few apps rotate in the wrong direction. But this is not a big thing!
4) Batteryusage didnt show apps and the graphic locks buggy
this are my first impressions

- To be honest I developed this on apollo
- Didn't really test much on thor so probably problems in the kernel causing blackscreen for thor
- seems to work flawlessly on apollo
- will look into thor issues before next build

Excellent work @ggow, I just dirty flashed Apollo version, and must say I am pretty impressed, everything vent smoothly, the only FC I get was from clock app, but that was expected... :good:
Is there any recommended xposed version working with this ROM?
So far I found one small graphic glitch, you can see it on attached picture (you can see only half of the first notification)...
OK that's all for now, going to test how fast this can burn through hdx battery, so far every LP ROM I tested on my phones was really power hungry...
I've tried this ROM.. smooth as hell...
but if I not geting wrong, no LTE...( I am on Apollo)
Is that right? Or I made something wrong...

- OTG support isn't available at least at the moment.
- Not completely certain what the story is with OTG on Apollo and Thor
- I have seen various comments about this
- Some have said it might be a limitation of the hardware or a limitation imposed from the bootloader.
- Needs investigating to be sure of what can be done.

I just had to try it and it's working!
So if anyone wants to try xposed for lollipop, go for it (make sure you don't have any "xposed leftovers" from KitKat like me (gravity box i. e.) and uninstall them first)
be sure you did nandroid backup in TWRP before you flash xposed for lollipop in TWRP (yes, framework needs to be flashed)
I used xposed-v73-sdk22-arm.zip
Reboot into ROM and install XposedInstaller_3.0_alpha4.apk
That's it, happy hacking...
YouTube in FullHD
And I don't know what magic @ggow did this time, but we finally have here YouTube app where we can choose 1080p streaming ! Yay! This just made my day!
Or Google finally allowed this for every mobile users in latest YouTube app? Anyone on CM11 or Nexus 4 can check if its there too?

I haven't made it for the n8000, because I don't own the 3g to test things on. But, if I can have a tester, I can make one.
This build is fantastic. Working like a charm. Definitely breathes new life into the Note.
Thanks for all the help. I'd be willing to test newer builds for the 8013 if need be. It's still my daily driver, but I'm always looking forward to testing new builds on it.

lirokoa, your build from last year was great and convinced me to keep my Note for a lot longer. Lots of appreciation for what you did.
Hey sw98, is there a quick way to flash a recovery img without root? I used, I believe, TWRP 2.8.7.0 for flashing your build and it worked perfectly. I'm not rooted, so cannot use the TWRP app from the Play Store, and for the life of me only remember flashing the recovery wayyyy back in the day with Odin.
EDIT: I ask because I wouldn't mind being on the newer version of TWRP that you posted.
Awesome!
Thanks your new Rom, LineageOS 14.1 work fine on N8010.
It seems fixed "settings has stopped" dialog when every boot.
Currently found issue:
-When start stock file manager show "MTP.....host has stopped". I disable it, no errors happened.
-Spen cursor not working.
-Visual touches not working. (In developer options) But I can see it working in the video, using AZ Screen Recorder.
-When open camera first time, device reboot. o_o I disable it and use Camera ICS, though I rarely use tablet camera.

In terms of the S Pen and the visual touches, I would not know what to do specifically about those (since I don't bother about them personally).
The "MTP Host has stopped" error message can crop up from time to time (I have seen it when I delete apps from the Play Store), but I wouldn't worry too much about it. It has never given me any issues.
For the camera issues you are having - the stock camera that comes with LOS reboots the device when you open it. Have you tried installing the Google Camera (whether from the Play Store or the APK)? It should work (I don't use the Note's camera at all, but I believe I have installed the app on the tablet on the past when using LOS 14.1).
Let me know.
I don't know MTP Host's function, but i don't like his existence,
so i disable it, All the file transfer still work fine (upload, download, install, etc),
No error message have occurred so far.
others issues not important for me too,
just report possible issues,
thx your reply.

Awesome! Some updates going for this stone age old device.
I don't assume you have any plans to work on Oreo 8.1? While Android GO might be awesome in this device, getting the old hardware running might be impossible.

[ROM][7.1.2][N8000/N801x/N8020][UNOFFICIAL] LineageOS 14.1 Nougat [EOL]

THERE WILL BE NO MORE UPDATES HERE!
This thread hasn't been updated in a while as I'm working on mainline support and a kernel 5.10 release for the Note 10.1. There are excellent releases of Android 9+ from @html6405 now and I don't intend on updating this thread. I'll leave everything as is, but don't expect me to view this thread on a regular basis. Most questions are already answered, use the search.
For the new mainline kernel version, please don't ask for any ETAs, there's still some things to be fixed before there will be an official release and I have a normal life to take care off.
If you have experience with kernel / ROM development and want to help me out? Leave me a message, I'd appreciate any helping hand no matter how much you can contribute, every little bit helps. Even looking at the device tree and giving me hints would be great as I would still consider myself being intermediate at best at putting everything together, it's just a lot to dig into with the little time I have.

Hi, I'm currently trying to get this device officially supported again as I really love it and it never let me down in the last 5 or so years. It still works amazingly fast and I have no need to replace it with anything else.
As I'm a Java engineer for my day job there is a lot of new stuff here, I had some contact with C/C++ when I studied CS a couple of years ago but never actually wrote anything bigger than two or three files in these languages. This is quite an adventure and I learned a lot already but I'm open for any help you can offer. After all, I'm doing this for fun and getting better at whatever hits me in the face while doing it.

FAQ
Q: Why another thread?!?
A: The ROM provided by @lirokoa is great but it is based on sources that deviated quite a lot from the official LOS repo, I try to close this gap and get the ROM aligned to the remaining devices based on the SMDK4412 core so that everbody profits from the development going on there. This ultimately means that we can get a 8.x alpha version "soon" after fixing the remaining issues.
Q: How can I help to improve the ROM?
A: If you are a developer, I'd be happy to discuss the remaining issues with you and how to approach/solve them. I'm open for pull requests on Github. If you are testing the ROM and can provide log files for issues this is also a great thing, even more so if it is one of the devices I do not own.
Q: What's up with the performance?
A: Disable Live Display, it's actually not supported by the GPU (or at least by the current driver)
Q: The camera is crashing!
A: Use Open Camera
Q: Wifi attempts to connect but never succeeds!
A: Try reflashing again, including wiping. This usually fixes it.

Wow!
thank your development for this old Pad.
will try it in a free time.
: )
Downloading. Will post some feedbacks later. Thanks for continuing the development on this old brick. ?
i couldn't get secretwolf98 version to install on my n8013 so i am keen to see if this one will install for me when the n801x version is ready
There is a new build with basic camera support, the back camera has some issues with recording videos which will crash your camera app. I noticed that activating the torch while having the camera app open in the background/foreground will also crash the camera app, so still some issues there.
The work on the camera will go on after the big party, I wish everyone a good start into 2019
I still use 2 of these and thank you for getting back into it. Using lineage 14.1 now. Will keep watching.
Great. I've just incidentally gone back to this forum after a long time to check if there's any newer ROM than lirokoa's for my N8000
I'll check it out. Thanks a lot
Got it all installed - but can't get over an error code 190 ("can't download app")when trying to install chrome. Unsure if this is rom related or gapps related.
Also flashed the 14.1 su package - works well with the rom as expected. Youtube from the play store does not work - plays audio but no video. Other than that as I play with this I'll see if I can find any other bugs. Really appreciative of you picking this up!
Thank you very much for continuing the development of this tablet!
My N8000 is presently running on lirakoa's latest build lineage-14.1-20170810-UNOFFICIAL-n8000 with open gapps micro and as root solution Magisk 18.0.
Recovery is TWRP 3.02.
Everything is working fine except the well known bugs, and it seems that most of these have been fixed in your latest build.
I've never tried video recording with this tablet but had some camera crashes recently when using the ClearScanner app, in fact it's not usable with this app.
Otherwise I think it's usable as daily driver, and it was.
My daughter used it for university until recently.
So, as far as I understand, your build should be on the same level and I'm gonna try it very soon.
Do you think a dirty flash could work?

Not quite yet, lirokoa put some effort in the ROM and there are probably things that I don't know about yet which are broken. See my last quote above for example. I'm still learning the inner working of the linux kernel and Android which is quite a huge task.

It could work but there is no guarantee as always. There are some changes here and there which can potentially break it.

The 190 issue was fixed with a reflash and and formatting my system. Took 3 times - not sure but I think it was on my end. The youtube however is still at issue. I was able to view in browser w/o issue though. It is just the app. Side loaded a bunch of older APKs of youtube with same result.

I can confirm your observations. Chrome is running smooth but the youtube app is only giving me audio with a black video stream.

It is really good ROM for N8000! But it seems not all video codecs are switched on in assembly. Except YouTube any IPTV application does not work, there is no video in Instagram (the still image of the first frame only) and in browsers many videos cannot be reproduced too.
Samsung SmartThins and Samsung Galaxy Apps application and is not started too. Sadly, as I remember, only from Galaxy Apps can be install the S-Pen application. By the way, somebody knows where to take .apk for Samsung Galaxy Apps? And how to work with the stylus?
Thank you very much for this ROM I'm new here on XDA, however I have recently flash this ROM to my n8013 it's running pretty good, but I have 2 issues so far.
First, I'm having some troubles accessing to my wifi network, I have a Spectrum router which have 2g and 5g but it keep saying that the password may be incorrect, I have try many apps so far changing settings on my router but no success; but when I go with my phone on Hotspot I can get access and establish connection.
I'm also trying to get root access, I already flash the path for LineageOS 14.1 but when I go to developers I can't get access to the manage option. And when I run the root checker app I shows that I don't have root access.
Thanks,

UPD.
Found Samsung Galaxy Apps. It's no S-Pen application too. There is a Google hand-written input. It is possible to cost them also and not to found S-Pen any more.
So, will be great if there is a video's full support and will earn Samsung SmartThins and if earns the IR-port for control of household appliances (now does not work on N8000). After everything it will be a masterpiece!
many thanks for the new build :good:

There is an issue with decoding the video stream but I'm not quite sure what's the root cause yet. Still investigating.

[ROM][PIE] PixelExperience 9.0 [S9/S9+][19.02.2019]

Pixel Experience ROM for the Galaxy S9+ and the Galaxy S9
What is this?
Pixel Experience is an AOSP based ROM, with Google apps included and all Pixel goodies (launcher, wallpapers, icons, fonts, bootanimation)
Our mission is to offer the maximum possible stability and security, along with essential features for the proper functioning of the device
Based on Android 9.0

This it not a GSI. It is built on actual device trees
What's working/not working?
First up:
-HWC is disabled
-The signalbar always shows 0, altho calling and data have no issue and should work as intended.
Obviously Samsung's own features such as Samsung Pay, KNOX, Theme Center, Game Launcher, etc. won't be ported to LineageOS Pixel Experience. We may have our own implementation to similar functions, though.
Iris sensor does not work because AOSP upstream does not support that yet.
IMS services (VoLTE, VoWiFi, etc). Samsung has their own proprietary implementation. It is not really possible to easily port that to LineageOS PixelExperience.

Troubleshooting/FAQ:
Q: Videos aren't playing on youtube
A: Make sure you don't have any kind of adblock installed
Q: I'm on a dualsim variant and (a) sim isn't detected.
A: Try reinserting your sim and rebooting. This wierdly nuff only happens on some* dualsim variants and no one has sent me a logcat yet.
Q: My mobile data (3G/4G) is not working/only 3g shows
A: Go into mobile network settings and select/create an apn, also select 4G as the preferred network type.
Q: How does this compare to GSIS?
A: Much better all around. Faster, smoother etc. I don't think there's any reasons to use pie gsis anymore.
Q: How good is the camera?
A: Actually,(by my standards), pretty good. Almost comparable to stock. Ofc the aosp cam doesn't have the fancy filtering, features and stuff but by far not bad. Alot better than 8.1 roms anyway.
Q: Safetynet doesn't pass?
A: Yeah, i guess that's a thing. Go into magisk and download some module called props hide or something. Don't forget to run it from terminal. It should work from there
Q: The rom isn't booting/camera doesn't work
A: Flash/make sure you have the CSB3 vendor and fw, and try again. This has been tested. It's prolly something on ur end.
Q: The rom is in a bootloop/google apps keep crashing
A: You did read the instructions and NOT flash any gapps riighhttt?? smh, wipe /system,/data and /cache and start over
Q: I have another bug; How can i tell it to you while slightly increasing my changes of it ever getting fixed.
A: You can tell me what's going on either here or on telegram WITH A LOGCAT attached(required);if rom isn't booting at all attach /proc/last_kmsg.
Q: I don't know what/how to logcat. Is it really necessary?
A: Logcat or gtfo
Q: How can i support you?
A: Awwww thanks; On most of my posts on the left side there's a "donate to me" paypal button;. Send the seal some fish. Seriously. The seal realllyyyyy loves fish. You can do that, donations are more than welcome, or if you don't have any $ to spare you can also post here about how awesome i am (this surprisingly helps very much)

It's happening boys! Thanks for this rainbow
Thanks for the Rom! Working good
Some things I noticed:
-SD card isn't working. Always says tap to fix
-some animations could be smoother but it's because of the HWC
Great first impression so far.
Thanks again!
Does any kernel work on this rom? This rom is really smooth and very good am surprised" greetings..

Every reboot yes dualsim. I have to removing sim tray and no signal is shown never and mobile data not working at all.
Please can you fix that. I love it because EdXposed work with it.

I have dual sim and it works.
Some bug report:
1. Gboard sound and vibration disappear every time after restart or vibration mode on/off.
2. Settings menu randomly change its theme form white to black. Killing in recents helps.
3. All system vibrations are f.... You know that
Everything else is pretty smooth though

You could use open gapps, you'll need 32 bit arm 7.1 version. I'll update the OP.
Weren't kidding about screen tear. Looking good so far. Will report back issues.
Waiting for device tree. Great work!
Curious if LOS 14.1 variant will be back ported to unlocked Ford and/or Austin? Assume not (perhaps due to older kernel) but wanted to verify.

I was planning to go straight to los16 for ford, austin and suez at some point.
I flashed this on my tablet and it works great for the most part. The vertical sync issue is annoying but on some media playback it seems non-existant. The biggest issue I've had so far is that for some reason the tablet appears to die. Every now and then it stops responding to the power button and the display just stays off. Connecting the charger does charge it but nothing comes to life. I have to force shut it down and restart it, and it works again.

Traffic not routed through Open VPN tunnel
Hi @ggow,
first of all, thanks a lot for your effort in bringing lineage to mustang. A working custom rom was the only reason for me to purchase an amazon fire
I followed @xyz post to unlock (thanks a lot for that by the way) and flashed your lineage rom.
I used OpenVPN Connect to connect to a vpn server and even though, the connection seems to be successfully established (OpenVPN Connect indicates a successful connection) , traffic is not routed through the vpn tunnel. When visiting different whats-my-ip sites, the "real" ip address is revealed. Please find the logs here: https://privatebin.net/?e1bc0fbde46a0809#CXvsF8SjyjwsqL1CXt6uLu5QAVAg9QKRF21JSxNLssFa
Is anyone experiencing the same problem?
Thanks and regards,
Chris
Same here for both the random black screen problem and the VPN issue. I'm connected to NordVPN, but my IP shows my actual location.

Thanks for the reports, I'll look into the VPN issue and the power issue. I included the md32p and md32d software but suspect that code is not running for some reason and causing the power/blank screen issue.

Thanks for this! So far everything is working ok. But yeah, a lot of screen tearing with Chrome, etc. Otherwise its pretty cool though!
Yikes. I see what was meant about screen tearing.
Seeing as the CPU is 64bit, what's the likelihood of the being a 64 bit ROM for this device?
I need to further investigate this but I'm fairly sure that the battery drained exceptionally quickly. I only flashed the ROM yesterday and the battery was dead when I looked this morning
