Pie beta: How can I bring back the dot on the navbar to hide it? - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Questions & Answers

How can I bring back the dot on the navbar to hide it?

You can't.

What about navstar?

I just switched to the gesture navigation.. That way it gets hidden and I can still go home/back/recents, but even faster

Install it and try it. Let us know if it works.

Yes, but no way to activate Google Assistant by holding for home button. Deal breaker for me. And I HATE through nav bar.

Navstar doesn't work

Dang it! I also miss the dot to hide the navigation bar. Thanks for trying NavStar!!

I would suggest trying the full screen gestures as well.

Full screen gestures?

[Q] Is there a Way to Disable Pie and the Navigation Bar? [BeanStalk;Slimkat]

Is there any way that i can disable the navigation bar without beeing forced to activate the Pie Controls? I used Slimkat, Beanstalk and LiquidSMooth. None of this Roms allowed me to do that. I already tried Apps like "Auto hide soft keys". Although editing the build.prop doesnt disable the softkeys. Any one can help?
I have the same question, but for my Note 2. The phone has hardware keys, so it's annoying that the ROM disallows disabling both nav options.

You can install xposed and gravity box to resize the nav bar to zero, also in liquid smooth there is an option in the setting to do this without gravitybox. Settings/navigation/dimensions/navigation bar height set to zero dpi. This however is no good to me as i want a toggle for nav bar to be on or off and this solution will not work for that only to hide it and then to go back into settings to enable it again.

Vertical scrolling

OK. I think I'm going crazy here but I went to grab my phone and hit the app drawer button and noticed that it was now showing up vertically with most used apps on the top instead of the normal horizontal. Was there a way to always change this that I never saw before. I didnt do anything different unless something got presses and changed while it was in my pocket.
I'm just looking for the option to go back and forth if there is one.
Thanks!
OK figured it out. Apparently google updated their launcher and thats just how it is now vertical, same with the widget. What have been nice for some kind of notice from Google at least!
Same
Same here. I was looking on internet and testing all settings option and i was going crazy too. I hate vertical menú on app drawer, i like horizontal slide.
Where do you read that Google update The launcher and are you're sure is update and not a configuración problemas?.
Thanks.

Update to marshmallow launcher. You can rollback like they said.

Anyone installed Custom Navigation bar?

Has anyone managed to successfully install Custom Navigation bar?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=xyz.paphonb.systemuituner
Right after I sent the ADB command, my systemUI consistently crashed. I had to do a factory reset and wasted quite a bit of time.
Wondering if anyone got this to work...
Thanks!
Similar to me, waiting for update.
Setting the navbar color via ADB was easy and works great. That said I didn't do anything else with it.
It is not only about the color. That app is also allowing to add 2 extra buttons to the nav bar with any key code. It is extremely useful, it works great in Note8, but it fails in Note9. Can't wait for an update.

It seems that even though the app got an update for Android 9, in the mean time, Note9 was set as incompatible device (which should prevent others getting into trouble).
Hopefully a fix is on the way, as it was very useful.

Perhaps not that much customized, but I'm using wings substratum to darken my navbar icons and swift for amoled black navbar.

I was using it to add 2 extra buttons on the sides:
- menu button - very usefull in old applications
- sfinder in the other one
But you could map those 2 buttons to whatever keycode you wanted... which is extremely useful!!
I'm using substratum with no problems, yeah it can't add extra buttons but 3 is all I need.
NAVBAR Apps has only been installed a few minutes on my Note 9, but dynamic navbar seems to be working well.

I haven't seen that, but I haven't chosen a color. I have it set to let the app in use dictate the color. I have seen only one app that I dislike the color choice, so far.
I too dont like default nav bar button looks. However I use more safer way to get customization. There are quite a few samsung themes (paid most ones few free ones) provide nav bar custom look buttons such as below. Ofcourse they wont provide new buttons but merely change the look.
Invaser Soft theme I use on note 9 gives the attached look.
so, is there any update on this for the Note 9?? I'd really like to add a power button to the bottom rgiht.....

Force app to full screen

Greetings,
does anyone have an idea how to set/force an app to go full screen?
Thanks
I don't have the phone yet and was gonna ask a similar question. I didn't know if Razer had implemented any software tweaks to hide the nav bar, I guess they don't? Having a 5.7in screen and no way to hide the nav bar kinda sucks.

Hey try this app, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gmd.immersive, I used this on the essential phone and it worked pretty well. There's also other ones on the store.
Yes there is a way to hide the Nav bar via Fluid N.G.
It's in the app store
No need for root, but with root the process is easier.
With root all you do is accept the permission to hide nav bar on all apps.
Without root you will need ADB on your PC and you have to run some simple commands that are in the app.
If you need more help let me know.
Here's some sample screenshots of the GMD Immersive App you can download at the play store. I have the paid pro version of it. When I first installed it, it didn't operate correctly, after a reboot it has been working fine now. You can find the app here: (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gmd.immersive)
Anyways this let's you either hide the nav bar by itself or hide the nav bar/notification bar so u can have a completely full screen when surfing the web or in your favorite apps. It's takes some getting use to but works fairly well. My phone is completely stock, no root required.

Can we get a normal Pixel-like Pill Navigation System in EMUI 9 (Honor Play)?

The Single Key Navigation that is available is not as per the expectation. It is not customisable either. A normal Google Pixel-like Pill Navigation System is required.
Is there any way to get those?

Here you go..

If there will be need of any help you can tell me..
But then this won't have those dedicated animations and the feel that the stock Google Pixel-like Pill Navigation System would have...
