[Pie]Camera Fix For Android Pie On FW 52.0.A.++ For XZ2/XZ2c - Sony Xperia XZ2 Themes, Apps, and Mods

Hello People !!
As we know Sony did something in the Dec Patch Buildnr: 52.0.A.3.126
with the camera, If we update from the Nov patch to the Dec Patch,
We have a black camera and also a black preview,
I grabbed some stuff from FW 52.0.A.3.84 and make a flashable zip of it,
and the funny stuff is... I fixed the camera ^^
So yeah i can yell Haaahaa ! to Sony
.. Requirements:...
Android Pie FW 52.0.A.++
Root + Twrp
Brains howto flash
.. Installation ..
Download the zip
Flash in recovery
Reboot

Before flash fw 126 delete in the folder this file: vendor_X-FLASH-ALL..sin

Yes and if you read the 1st post, camera is not working on unlocked bl with dec patch fw 126

Instructions:
1. when using newflasher, remove vendor_X-FLASH-ALL-B6B5.sin from firmware directory!
when using fastboot, Exclude VENDOR! or remove vendor.sin from .ftf file.
2. flash .126 fw (without vendor) over .58fw.
3. fastboot flash twrp.img (use latest xz2 pie one)
4. fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash vbmeta vbmeta.img (use latest xz2 pie one)
5. reboot to recovery
6. install twrp_for_stock126.zip (stock kernel and twrp installer are both included in this file)
7. install magisk (i recommend using latest - 18.0 for now)
8. Install camera fix.
9. Reboot to system or install anything else u want.
Thats all. Enjoy!
And, dont worry about video recording, its working even with preview too. but cannot be captured to screenshots.

It is not the same.
We need a drmfix.
It will be the same quality like the camera had with November firmware.
So we are missing nose reduction.
It only foxes the black camera preview.
But sadly we need the november vendor partition.
So we don't get the December security fixes in our hardware drivers.
And not the bug fixes in these drivers.

@Guetto Design - Thank you very much for creating this port! Will you do a port for the new pie firmware (47.2.A.4.45), too?
Is the port provided in the OP working on the last oreo firmware (47.1.A.16.20)? Since I want to stay on oreo till pie is running smooth, I will test this, if no one else has done this.

Did you find the answers to your questions? I will delete both cache and dalvik cache (should be name art cache!?) in TWRP before flashing this port on the last oreo firmware.

Did you made a full wipe before using PIE?
It solved problems at my side, including the touch problem.
Does a full wiped .126 still drain?

Yes you need to unlock the boot loader (it's in the instructions). On my firmware (52.0.A.126) the camera works (including denoising) using the camera fix as instructed. I don't know about later firmwares.
If you flash an AOSP ROM the camera will always work, maybe even better than stock.

I have a couple more questions, if you don't mind, please
1) Installing "liboemcrypto disabler" module will enable HD/FullHD/QHD video quality back into Netflix etc?
2) Do you still receive OTA updates from Sony to the latest firmware?
Thanks

Netflix uses a device whitelist for 1080p and higher based on Netflix ESN (Electronic Serial Number). Your ESN gets wiped when you unlock your boot loader. Liboemcrypto disabler just makes Netflix work at 540p with a rooted device (provided you also use MagiskHide).

You receive OTA updates but you can't install them because the recovery partition (used for 2nd stage OTA) is overwritten by TWRP. So OTA will just attempt to update -> reboot into TWRP -> reboot back into OS -> update failure.

Question Lineage 20 for Pixel 7 - Panther

Ok guys per request i will post my personal Pixel 7 lineage rom . Is update to december and it has the minimal gapps built inline . I will call it Beta but all i use daily is working for me . I know face unlock is not working because never add the commits . It wont pass the safety net unless rooted but again i dont use it , also all apps from play-store are working . Maybe will update maybe not will see . Cheetah is booting too but apps is force close and cant fix now because i dont got the device . So please dont ask a lot of questions ! Installing is simple , be on December , wipe factory default from recovery and fastboot update the name.zip .

I don't want to do a full wipe. It would be nice to have a ROM like the one from November, which you can simply install in recovery. Too bad it probably won't be available any time soon.

This is exciting. How's the battery life? I'm not too impressed with the stock ROM battery performance. I unlocked my bootloader just waiting to hear some feedback before I try it.

Will update tonight .
Updated to January ........
I appreciate the work! I've downloaded your updated build, bootloader is unlocked & ready to flash,,, Just not sure how to flash it (I'm good at following directions). I really haven't done much flashing since the Galaxy S5 & S6, and that was with Odin. I'm guessing with the Pixel 7 it's done with some fastboot commands and pretty simple, just don't know the procedure.

Bootloader is already unlocked. So just one command "fastboot -w update name_of_rom.zip" ? Do I need to factory reset before I boot or anything?
There are flashing instructions on this, the command I supplied is wrong, my mistake Its a build for Panther and Cheetah, ive used his roms in the past and can vouch for them
[ROM][UNOFFICIAL][cheetah/panther] LineageOS 20.0 for the Pixel 7 Pro/7
LineageOS 20.0 for the Pixel 7 Pro (cheetah) and Pixel 7 (panther). Known issues: NOTE: This is an early-stage build, and may not be the most stable. It works fine for me as a daily driver on a Pixel 7 (panther), however. The status bar is...

*EDIT" Just tap power & up keys for half a second. I was long pressing them.
How do I boot into recovery from fastboot? I can select " Recovery mode" but it boots a dead android and under it says "no command" . I'm just doing a dry run, I don't feel like bricking my phone. I'm stuck on step "8." of the link you sent.
