[KERNEL] [OREO] [G9650] [G9600] klabit kernel - Samsung Galaxy S9 & S9+ (Snapdragon) ROMs, Kernels

This is my kernel compiled to my liking.
I may consider requests/suggestions but that does not guarantee I will add it.
This kernel is upstreamed to 4.9.151 which I will be continuing upstream as I get time.
No need to reflash magisk! The kernel is patched for magisk during the install!
I can only recommend what I and trusted others have tested so I recommend ARK1 bootloader.
If you find any issues please don't hesitate to post in the thread. I will do my best to resolve any issue.
As of now, there are no issues at all.
Please enjoy and provide feedback if you choose to use it.
Thanks.

I don't see why not but what's the difference between a wakelock blocker in the kernel versus an app like Franco Kernel manager or any other wakelock blocker? Just an option? Wireguard is planned in the future as well just not sure if it will be in Oreo or Pie.

First Things First, Thanks for your work and contribution to the Snapdragon variant.
Where are the changes of your compilation, what's different?
Is it possible to use with BL subsequent to ARK1, such as ARK3?
UPDATE:
REPORT: It is working normally in my G9650 Latin America MXO; with ARK3, No problems for now.
Thanks to @ klabit87 for his work I hope to see more work on his part for the varinate snapdragon. Greetings.

Yes it will work fine. Okay changes as of now are upstreamed to 141 and I've set the default gov to schedutil and it's permissive. Other than that, nothing else has changed as of yet. I will have a proper changelog done later.
Although the git commit list is the same thing lol

my doubt arises because of the release of Android 9.0 for China in the month of February, and I want to try it out recently to the public, but I do not know if it goes well with the variant of Mexico, with respect to the CSC I think it would be risky to flash the. tar of the CSC of my country.

You will see two folders "Normal ROMs" and "Alternate ROMs"
Use the normal one if you are running: CM, AOSB, Slim, or Beanstalk.
Use alternate if you are running: Carbon or Omni
Since PAC adds its own custom frameworks, it will have its own version.
If you flash the wrong one, you will be stuck on the bootanimation. Easy fix, just go flash the other one.
Installation:
Flash in recovery.
Then flash SuperSU
Goals of this kernel:
The objective of this kernel is to have a kernel for daily use. It does not aim for best battery life, or best smoothness or best benchmark scores. It aims more for a good mix of all, not sacrificing stability and functionality in the end. With that being said, I am open to any suggestions and contributions, but I will only implement it in if it makes sense to me and does not hinder one's experience using this as a daily driver. Also, try to limit talk of benchmark scores because they do not accurately depict real life experience.

Yeah, I was planning to so flashable zips in the future. This first release is like a beta. I need to make sure all 3 variants work properly. You have the n5100 right? I heard from tejkkarani that it takes forever to boot so hold off on flashing for now. (Great if anyone else could confirm this) I'm going to take a look at it today.

EDIT: The flashable zip should be available soon. I'm testing it on my n5110. Check your PM in a few mins.

I apologize for the inconvenience. Just realized that this kernel does not work on anything but PAC. Therefore, I will spend a lot more time testing before releasing again. Thread will be closed until further notice.
Thread re-opened. Figured out the problem faster than I initially expected. Downloads are up for the N5110. I have personally tested them on the ROMs we have. There are two different versions for now so please download the correct one. Enjoy!
FYI: N5100 builds will start shortly (approximately 12-24 hours from now or so), and N5120 will start a day or two after that.
Edit: N5100 should be ready now.
Using on CM 11 (cm-11-20140226-NIGHTLY-n5100.zip) .. not bootloop for me. Works perfectly. As I have installed it just now cant comment on the performance or battery life. Using GravityBox (KK) with Xposed Framework. Didnt face any issues yet.
working with AOSB 1.3.0 on N5100 from 23rd February 2014 , no problem so far.

whoops, just checked the code. I forgot to enable it in the defconfigs (files and everything are all in place though). I'll enable it next release. And no its not, I'm going to change the name to DracoKernel in future releases. Currently, thats not too high on my priority list.
Edit: Boeffla sound may take a while. Enabled it but app isn't recognizing that the kernel has the feature..

That justs means the kernel is set to permissive. Personally, i think its better that way.
The rom is lack of simplified chinese characters. Is there a ways to fix it too?

Also fixed all the symbol error like pounds "£"
New rom repacked let me know if better or worse I'll give it one more shot if its worse lol, but am waiting for N for our devices just like you. Just wanted the community to feel Nougat that wasn't Chinese firmware. I'm waiting for the release too so I can update the Lineage 14.1 drivers and ramdisk and kernel. I'm afraid if I do that now, a bit will change when its available via ota and make my work moot.
Enjoy
Thanks!

Hi @travis82, The rom works so far so good, just one question, why the samsung theme store is in Chinese, and it ask for phone, contact, and storage access. I flashed Dave's auroa N before yours, but I did format the data. so I'm wondering if the theme store is embended in the rom? And why the app's name displays in Chinese?

Important notes:
Why does the initial boot take so long?!
- I had to sacrifice dexpreopt because of wifi issues while it was enabled. This can result in pretty long initial boots or upgrade boots, and dexpreopt might run during the first time setup wizard as well, slowing down the system for an additional couple minutes. I also suggest to wait some minutes before running the SetupWizard if you use Gapps.
My RIL doesn't work, i don't get mobile data!
Sorry guys, some of you tried to force me to release Nougat Roms (and here we are) even if i haven't solved known bugs like RIL issues. Source is open for everyone, feel free to fix it yourself.

Perhaps you didn't noticed, but besides your grateful expression there's another that can be interpreted as a complain to the project, and thus to the dev. Please, don't stress the situation any more, the only thing stopping you to upgrade to 14 is your lack of knowledge to fix the issue, it's not Andi's fault, he is doing nothing but progress here, maybe you could make some too.

thank you Andreas for keeping this device alive :good:
I saw your post of LineageOS 14.1 on XDA when I was in school... I was so excited to get home to test it...
I tested it on GT-P3113, 100% stable, 100% fast, no errors.
Awesome work! Thanks, @Android-Andi

Awesome work, all works fine, camera works but the image is rotated to right but nevermind because I not use the camera in my Tab, thanks for the N ROMs
Don't let that idiot ruin your day Andi, you have powered my Tab 2 since KitKat if I remember correctly and I really appreciate it. I had a Nexus 5, and now a Redmi Note 3 but I still keep my Tab 2 for media purposes. It feels so good that my old device is still kicking and rocking Nougat and some newer devices are still on marshmallow. Thank you Andi.
I've never seen a developer like you even on the Nexus 5 thread or the Redmi Note 3.
@Android-Andi john99ap and me found a bug in custom builds of nougat that make it unusable. The custom builds of nougat will be smooth as butter one sec and super slow the next.
@theportal2 without logs I don't look into anything. Also detailed information are a must have.
@Android-Andi how would I do logcats, plus what I think is the cause of this bug is a mix of reboots with bad caches cause when I rebooted it started happening and when i cleared the caches the slowness was fix temporary.

Important Notices
Proved works on MIUI (r9+ with latest Xiaomi patch), LineageOS variants, e.g. LineageOS, Mokee, AOSPExtended...
This project does not offer warranty. It may bricks you phone
This project considers daily battery life optimisation in the first place, since I don't play any game so far lol...
Installation
Download the flashable zip from one of these places, then flash it by recovery:

Compatibility
What it should works:
MIUI 9 7.11.x to 7.12.7
LineageOS variants
What it might not work
Someone mentioned that this kernel may not boot with MIUI Oreo (7.12.8+, Chinese dev version?!)
On some Oreo ROMs, it may causes boot loop. MORE INFO NEEDED!! PLEASE REPORT TO ME IF YOU HAVE THIS ISSUE
Donation

Wow, it's the first 3rd party kernel for Mi6!
Thanks for your hard work!
Thank you, testing it on mokee 1013 nightly. Seems abit warmer but maybe because of first couple hours of booting.
Kernel level volume mod is greatly appreciated.
this kernel suppot f2fs?thanks.....
I loved the gpl parenthesis hahahahaha

It will be warmer after first boot when you've wiped and flashed a new ROM.

I think it doesn't, at least I didn't port any related stuff to this kernel. But I'm not sure if upstream kernel source maintainers (Qualcomm, xiaomi and/or mokee) did or not. I don't have time or plans for porting this filesystem so far.
Here are some battery usage statistics taken yesterday. Screen brightness was set to automatic, screen-on time 3hrs (2hr59min for Android and 15 mins in the recovery). I've also listened 2hrs music in total with my Bluetooth devices and Netease music app.
thanks for your hard work

Okay I will try it later. I guess it may caused by ramdisk?
works fine with @xiaobai112220 LineageOS 14.1 1013 ROM
thanks
Works great, but would be nice if you upstreamed it to 4.4.92.

Hmmmmmm... I think it's not quite useful since Qualcomm did some backports in their upstream branch. So simply following them is enough I think.
Shenzhen? A look is the percentage of Chinese people, hehe
Compile two branches, one los and other third parties, one MIUI series.

Actually I would like to ask that is there any differences between the kernel itself (not ramdisk or the whole boot partition) in AOSP/Lineage variants and MIUI? I haven't start diving in and figure out the differences but if someone who knows some hints, please reply me soon. @xiaobai112220 @coderstory
Sorry this is the first time I do kernel mods as a public project instead of school assignments lol...

at least, then version of kernel must match to the version of blobs 。otherwise camera will not works in miui

Version 2 has uploaded.
Changelog:
- Allow 900mA fast charge when connecting to computers
- Upstream changes from Mokee
- Change compiler to Linaro GCC 7.1.1, but may also uses original GCC 7.2.0 later on Mac

No, you need to also flash magisk right after the kernel

Cool, is it possible you could add support for HID devices/android_keyboard_gadget? (Nethunter HID attacks)
I'll be waiting for the US997 release

Nice to see another kernel for our device. You wrote inOP that is based on v20A. Will it work well with 20c firmware? Hasn't LG updated the sources?
Thank you for your work

Running your kernel on my H870, V20C, so far so good, great work ?
Heya, thanks for the Kernel, I flashed over from Melina kernel - noticed less CPU governeei options - missing my old elementalx setting. Any plans to add more governor settings or have you tuned/optimised the interactive governor in the Kernel
