I think you misunderstood. You must have the bootloader unlocked in order to do the above procedures. That means that you still have to pay FH for an unlock code

Installing OTA on rooted XT1064

My wife's XT1064 has on OTA (22.46.12.en.US) available which is a Stagefright fix. It has downloaded but when it tries to apply the OTA it boots into TWRP and I have no frigging clue where the downloaded file is or if it can be applied through TWRP.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am unfamiliar with the Moto G's ins and outs.
Thanks.

no as its recovery for xt1064 - if you replace the recovery with a xt1063 that would work
Would I lose my data stored in the internal memory if I unroot my moto g 2014?
BTW: I am rooted using the the stock firmware.
EDIT: Do I have to re-lock the boot-loader in other to successfully install last update?
Thanks man!

But it's not 3.0.0.
I am trying to build Marshmallow for A700F and i don't know if it will require 3.0.0 to flash it.
But i am still having some build issues. I have a basic Device tree but i am not sure that it's enough.
Unfortunately no one I ask responds to my messages. Not much help from people i'm afraid. Real pitty........

It doesn't matter what recovery version you have any will do as long it can flash update zips, which pretty much every custom recovery does.
Ok. Thanks.
I know from my HTC time that we did need certain versions of twrp for a specific android versiion.
And i saw in RR thread that someone had to use twrp 3.0.0 for it.
But i will first try to get my rom to build fully.

[ROOT] Full Root for the Mate 9

I DIRECT YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS THREAD INSTEAD: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-9/how-to/guide-how-to-root-mate-9-decrypt-data-t3569986
It's easier as you don't need to get a decrypted boot image.
Thank you ajsmsg78 for your work on this.
If you rooted using this method you don't need to re-root. Only difference is that SuperRoot patches boot image to "decrypt" automatically.
Perfect. Will try this later and report back. Thank you!
Just a tip, wipe dalvik & cache after flashing, fixed some small bugs for me (Not being able to get into developer options)
Also, RSA breaks if you flash the wrong boot image (165 on 138) so no adb

About safeness, worst case you can use FunkyHuawei to restore (Unless you're using the US C567, and it's not a free service). But restoring stock boot using fastboot should be enough, and you would do a data wipe in vain.

Download the zip and install using TWRP recovery. If you don't have TWRP use build.prop edit method. Once you activate camera api2 you will lose lot of features only in stock camera.

Just open YouTube and search for "how to install twrp in Lenovo p2"
A short note:
# unlock bootloder (takes 14 days)
# download TWRP.img (rename it to recovery.img) (most guide follows this)
# install minimal adb in your PC (install properly and make sure it works)
# install Lenovo driver in your PC
# after 14 days
# connect mobile in fastboot mode (vol up + power button) to PC
# type the below command in (minimal adb - cmd)
fastboot oem unlock
#then you can follow YouTube guide, still have doubt ? Feel free to ask.

Yes bootloader unlock required ! If you want to install twrp + zip files
is the activation zip USELESS for latest custom rom like aex, havocOs? i am on an old RR rom and with some apps downloaded from play store i can see my phone is supported. i use capera2probe app and i see i am HW level "full".
so am i already with cam2apy enabled?
