2. Installing Updates/Restoring to stock
NOTE: I do not take any responsibility what you flash to your device.
I recommend to not downgrade to a previous EMUI version - it might trigger a brick.
This has been tested on my Mate 20 - i upgraded sucessfully to B171 -> B183 -> B188.
Install the app i wrote from here (EMUI Flasher 1.2)
Make sure you are rooted
Select the update_full_base.zip you downloaded (the second firmware file can be ignored)
Tap flash button - device should restart to recovery and install the update
3.1 Rooting (Simple way)
NOTE: you need a unlocked bootloader, those can be bought online for ~30 bucks
Download the recovery ramdisk image i patched in magisk manager here
Flash the image to recovery ramdisk through fastboot
(Command: fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk recovery_ramdisk.img)
Reboot and keep the Vol+ button pressed to start to recovery mode (Don't worry, it will boot to system anyway)
install latest magisk manager canary build - download here
Enjoy magisk

hey,
you can update although you are rooted? after the update is finished is the rooted boot.img still there or do i have to flash it again? And nothing gets deleted? (in best case?)

you have to reflash the patched_boot.img to recovery_ramdisk (via fastboot) after an update to regain root access.
Your userdata should stay intact - atleast it did for me when upgrading from B171 -> B183 -> B188.
Regards

I tried updating my phone to 188 but now it seems to be stuck in a boot loop and I can't seem to get out
I was previously on 182. I have an LYA-029 C636 (if that makes a difference)
I tried flashing another image but it still won't boot. I then tried selecting "Download latest version and recovery" in eRecovery but got an error getting package info from server.
I don't know what to do
EDIT: All good got it working again. Found my original 182 image that I got from auras76 thread and flashed it again and also flashed the patched_boot.img. Fixed.
EDIT2: Actually.. it's not completely fixed. Chrome doesn't seem to open anymore for some reason.. and safetynet fails both basic integrity and cts profile
EDIT3: So I ended up having major issues and soft bricked my phone after a factory restore failed. I had to buy a credit from FH and used their method to restore the phone to 187. Was an absolute pain. I'm not sure if I did something wrong when I used your app initially but I'm reluctant to try it again. I'm currently re-rooted and just going to chill on FH's 187 firmware for now.

because the 188 build is a build for the Mate 20, not for the pro
@OldDroid change that 188 build, because its a wrong one and seems to cause a brick
afaik, for the M20Pro the hightest revision is 187

Do I need to follow your sequence (B171 -> B183 -> B188) or I can just install the last update (188)? I am on a 182 version now...
Also, there is no difference for location? My one is C636.

Kenzo/Kate Firmware **UpToDate-7.3.9-Download**

Kenzo/Kate Firmware by @reemar
The newest firmware there is, made by me:
- it came from latest version of global beta by miui.
- extracted firmware and create zip u to flash at Recovery!
Q/A:
It is VoLTE working on this firmware?
It should work now, but i can't test It becouse my provider has no VoLTE. Try and tell me!
Any risk of relocking bootloader flashing this firmware?
Absolutely not. NO emmc_appsboot.mbn = NO BOOTLOADER F****ups
aka - it will not relock your bootloader
Why i need this firmware?/What it is good for?
If you want to flash a CM13/14/14.1/AOSP N rom, you need to flash this updated firmware first.
it FIXED and improves Signal, Gyroscope, Accelerometer, Magnetic sensors in Redmi Note 3
For what reason i have to choose this firmware instead of another one?
If you have flashed another firmware, you probably have those issues: battery percentage not working, camera autofocus not working, low signal strenght. If not, stay on your firmware.
BUT, this firmware is the great and latest, so u probably should ONLY flash that Firmware
Where are you getting it from?
I'm extracting the firmware from official beta/developers release of xiaomi miui.
i'm taking the firmware only and give it to you to be use, on any rom u want!
How to install:
-reboot to recovery
-wipe whatever u want, (i wipe dalvik and cache cos i'm dirty )
-mount everything u can tick such as firmware and system
-install firmware
-afterwards factory reset is recommended although not must cos we R dirty
-install your rom/gapps/kernel whatever
-reboot and say thanks!!
-Enjoy
Dictionary:
Dirty = dirty flash, not wipe everything, aka 'flash over' cos we lazy to backup and restore stuff's
KENZO = the official global version of Redmi note 3 SD650 and its 150mm height
KATE = the Special Edition version of Redmi note 3 SD650 and its 152mm height
SD = snapdragon motherboard, come on guys, u suppose to know that..

Download the latest fastboot version of the latest firmware. Compare to see what's in these flashable firmwares and check the Images directory of the fastboot firmware. Copy them over to the flashable zip. That's probably the easiest way.

Maybe the easiest way to do that by downloading custom miui rom like multirom, xiaomi.eu, epic, etc as ur wish then, extract only the firmware-update and meta inf, inside meta inf look for updater-script and edit it with any kind of text based app editor like notepad++ or else, or the meta inf you can take from the strix cm14 firmware, or psyman, etc. Finally repack it again, using rar, 7zip, or else, with .zip format. And enjoy.

It's possible to flash this firmware on my rom aicp 7.1.1?? Reblock bootloader it???
MIUI beta 7.2.16 firmware is identical to beta 7.2.9 firmware. Those who have already flashed 7.2.9 don't need to flash 7.2.16.

{Android 7 - EMUI 5.0} VNS-L** C***B360 - links

Small guide to update to B370-B371 Nougat!
1. From anywhere you are (B336, B329, B170-160-130) you have to prepared in dload folder a B160/B161 stock firmware (B160 for DS, B161 for SS).
2. Flash oeminfo/custom.bin (for SS phone or DS phone ) for your phone localisation: C150, C185, C432.
3. After that firmware become corrupted and need to be repaired from dload folder via 3 keys pressed / dialer code / emui error message.
4. Once you have a functional B160/B161 firmware install Firmware Finder (+proxy addon) and check <Use new firmware> and <Use system updater>.
5. Reconfigure WI-Fi connection from indications in Firmware Finder Proxy.
6. Search for B370/B371 firmware (B370 for DS, B371 for SS) of 1,94 Gb size for your phone localisation and send it to updater.
7. From there it is downloaded, verified and reboot to emui updater wich make his work and bring you B370/B371 firmware.
PS: - for flashing oeminfo/custom.bin i recomand this tool which make that work just fine.
- if you have a flash-able zip of oeminfo/custom.bin i recommend flashing with twrp.

Hey there,

1. Create a folder DLOAD in the external SD card.
2. Unzip the file update.zip into the DLOAD folder.
3. Disconnect your phone from your PC, if still attached.
4. In the dialer app type the following: *#*#2846579#*#*
5. Select Software Upgrade [option 4], then Update SD Card.
The phone will reboot and install the update.

[solved] B608 need a specific version!? No.

Hi!
To update to OTA B608 you need to be in 2 Specific versions with his 2 fingerprint in build prop:
Android 6
Code:
hi6210sft/hi6210sft/hi6210sft:6.0/MRA58K/jenkins08021733:user/test-keys
or
Android 5
Code:
hi6210sft/hi6210sft/hi6210sft:5.0/LRX21M/jenkins02151221:user/test-keys
Huawei is getting smart...
Who have this versions????
Forget this... In HWFF page one link is OTA and the other is Default update.app
They write wrong ... lol
.
What? What this means?

forget it.
They write wrong the id from rom.
One is full ROM (update.app) and the other is OTA ( patch + update.app), they write the 2 as FullOTA...
The ( patch + update.app) you can install but the full update.app you can!
So, they have write the same in the 2 and i download the 2x the ( patch + update.app) and i start to think that need to be in sopme proper rom to install...
but i try again and download the right one ...
lol
Is the B608 a rebuild of an older version? I mean sure it has August patches like B604 but the changelog is old, from when EMUI 4 first showed up...

Is the best version i crossed! The changelog can be old but all file are updated. It have the best battery usage from all roms i had.
Some times when you change to much you can make a mess up, so you pick the best of all and insert in the most stable version!
Is what i do! ::silly:

Yes the recovery file is for TWRP, but you need an unlocked bootloader for both.
It's not for twrp it's for factory recovery. I tried it and it keeps returning me to twrp. When i flash from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-mix-2/how-to/mi-mix2-global8-6-14-miui-10-v1-t3804471 it loads normally and i unpacked both of them and they are not similar in structure.

That one is modded I think. To flash official stock rom using TWRP, you shall flash lazyflasher after the rom flash to avoid bootloop.

Does fastboot method relock the bootloader?
Weird. TWRP method has me stuck on the initial bootloader image.
Edit: fixed after going into recovery again, wiping and not installing the no verity script
Also to you the ROM is so slow to download from bigota server that I'll take 6-8hr?!
Is the third time I kill the download and decide to download in other times

Yes I can change it. If you have problems with this google "miui region fix", download the zip and flash it in TWRP.
