Availability and LTE bands - Xiaomi Mi 9 Questions & Answers

Is the Mi 9 already available for purchase somewhere (outside of China)?
Also, there's information circulating that the Mi 9 (Chinese version), does not support band 20 (800) for LTE, which is widely used in Europe. Any official confirmation on what bands are supported?
Thanks

Not available outside of China yet and Band 20 is not present on the China version.
I am waiting for the global version to hit the UK, i also Want to see if the transparent version will be available globally

I wouldn't get your hopes up, I'm also hoping the transparent edition gets a global variant, but according to previous leakers it's very unlikely, fingers crossed, 24/2

You're right, but worst case scenario for me is that I get the China version and flash the global rom on it. I am in the US and the China version has the proper LTE bands to work here.

Hardly surprising considering the mi 9 is the newer device

Just watched the mwc conference 449 euro for 6/64 model and 499 for 6/128 model, pre orders now in Europe looks like great deal but thought there might be a 8gb ram version

Have been trying to find one myself, seems like it's only in Spain and Italy,I'm in Ireland so might have to wait for a UK release if I want a UK plug.

Would be great if it'll be available to buy from their London store soon

Currently it's only available in the 6/64 and 6/128 black variants. Any idea about the 8/128 version hitting EU?

I've noticed that the position of the main microphone (four small holes) at the top varies.
On some variants it is next to the headphone jack :

On others it is on the opposite end from the headphone jack :
Almost all the back covers I've seen online cater to the first (I believe the Tegra - TD version).
No offense though, but MI3W isn't only the India version, it actually is the international version.
AFAIK
TD-CDMA - Mi3 Tegra Version
WCDMA - Mi3w - International version
Since when there's a Mi3s? I thought Mi3W is used internationally
The original poster is seriously wrong about the MI versions. He should edit his post.

There is No MI3S
Only two versions
Mi3 TDCDMA version with Tegra4 CPU (Only for China mobile)
Mi3W WCDMA version with SnapDragon 800 CPU (for China Telecom and all International Markets)
Mi3S? Are you sure about that?
Xiaomi usually adds an 'S' to the model number only when they release a revamped version of a previous model.
like
Hongmi / Hongmi 1S (Redmi)
Mi1 / Mi1S
Mi2 / Mi2S
Also 2G and 3G frequencies in Singapore and India are same, so there is need to release a seperate model for each country unless the Singapore version supports 4G.

Hi, I am in China at the moment looking for the Mi3W WCDMA version with SnapDragon 800 CPU (for China Telecom and all International Markets). I did see a shop with the Tegra 4 version which I did not want as I want the phone for Australia and I imagine that most ROMS here will be snapdragon 800. I was ready to buy the phone today at another shop but they couldn't give me a clear indication as to which version they had. Language was the main issue and when i looked at one which was working, I couldn't see ARM or snapdragon.
I really want to get this phone but need something in Chinese to indicate that they are supplying the correct phone to me... maybe there is a clue on the outside of box I could look at ID sticker that may confirm the processor. It seems from this thread that if it is China telecom model then it will be the WCDMA.
Any help appreciated.

Man, stop this! Mi3s does not exist, never did and never will. The phone in your story is a mi4. Mi3s was the name given by the media, since they didn't know how the next xiaomi phone is gonna be called.
For Mi3W WCDMA in Chinese:
联通版 WCDMA
SnapDragon 800 -> 晓龙 800
If I were you, I'll not buy the phone from any shop other than Xiaomi, especially in China because there are a lot of fake out there.

N6 - XT1100 vs XT1103 ... No difference?

Guys,
I was doing a comparison on a few different websites and noticed that there's two different models, XT1100 & XT1103 (US & Global models), but there didn't appear to be any difference on anything - including frequencies/bands?
Can you guys confirm this?
Thanks!

Nope. There is a North America version which should work on all US and Canadian carriers. Then there is the international version, which should work on most others in the rest of the world.
The great thing about snapdragon is with only 2 versions of the phone, you can cover pretty much all the LTE bands in the world.
So if you buy from Play in the US. You get the North America version. If you buy one in Europe, you get the international version.

Do you know for sure if Model A support VoLTE? I'm pretty interested in this phone (coming from a Razer Phone 2), but the lack of VoLTE is kind of a killer (especially if T-Mobile is going to mandate it). I tried contacting Asus's support about it, but the guy I got in chat really didn't seem to know anything.
Also, does anyone know if it supports wi-fi calling? Since T-Mobile's coverage isn't... always the best... this is also a pretty important feature.

Question Why its so hard to get the Global Version?

Hey, I've been waiting for 2 months now, and literally, there is no normal Global version for a fair price, I don't get people that buy the global version for 1500$ while its suppose to be 1-1.1k
Can someone explain to me WHY the hell the global version is that rare?

Hey you had to be quick. There was a flash sale on Aliexpress and I got my Global Version for £888 and Wonda Mobile had around 50 units 2 weeks ago of Global Version for £900. It's in demand and supply is low due to chipset and component shortages globally.

I've never seen those prices on Aliexpress and Wonda, Aliexpress is 1400$ and Wonda was some ridiculous price too, are you sure it was those prices?

Absolutely agree. Also, I tried to get one on Mi UK at release time on release date. I missed out only because I didn't yet have an account set up! It could be supply shortages - or it could be deliberate of course, but that would be an odd decision given the demand for the handset!
I got my Global unit from Wonda for about $1268 USD, but I paid $34 for express shipping. AliExpress had it for around $1,200-1400 during the sale, but they couldn't ship to the states. I'm not too sure why it's showing more expensive in GBP. When a conversion of $1302 USD should be around £916 GBP. Unless it includes some other customs and fees? Idk, here is the screenshot.

Rocking my global version for almost three weeks from AliExpress
The global version’s price is so high compared to the China version. Someone posted a Global version on Mercari for $1,550.
That’s insane. I have yet to see a Global version go any lower than $1300.
i managed to snag a Global version for us$1000 off my local marketplace, but that's it.. no more, it was one of those limited sets released in Malaysia.

I do feel like the bands could be a big deal depending where you live with the Chinese to Global difference.
Well, I have the global version and still on base SW version, 12.0.1.0, with not a single update yet, nor is it possible to get any information on coming releases.
Somewhat disappointing considering the money spent.

That's weird.. since if you look at the build list in the Mi 11 Ultra thread you'll see that it's 0.1.0. What's your build number ending with? Mine is RKAMIXM.
I just hope to get any update.

I use a china 12/512
It's blazing fast at everything except data transfer through that USB 2 port!
All the carriers in my country use band n78 for 5G anyway and it has n78
All of the 4g+/LTE stuffs also working fine

I bought the global I'm on the USA it should have 5G which will be nice. I'm curious of how the global will differ from the Chinese.

I wouldn't be surprised if you end up flashing the Eu ROM onto it eventually to get the features that are months behind on the global version lol
Technically, you probably couldn't tell the difference between them unless you live in an area where there is only one 5g band
