How do I root this device? - Motorola One Power Questions & Answers

I am quite new to this rooting and all...but I want to try this on my Moto...so if I get any help it would be much appreciated. Thanks!
(My device is Moto one power.)

First you need to unlock the bootloader
For that follow this guide
https://forum.xda-developers.com/one-power/how-to/guide-motorola-one-power-unlock-relock-t3858797
Then root via the magisk app

First of all, welcome to XDA.
Second, you dont need to "unlock bootloader" for themes and apps. Root is enough.
You can find how to root it in Development section of Xperia Z1 forum.
For any question, write here, and i will reply as soon i can.

Hello its a new person as you can see. I do have a few questions for concerning root. I am in the process of trying to learn how to root my phone which is the Z1 S. Would you be able to explain the difference in root with lock boot loader and a root with unlocked boot loader? I have tried the search button but came up little info on it. I would like to be able install roms, themeing, apps, modz, wifi and blue tooth tethering the whole nine yards lol. Maybe I should be asking which method would be best for all that. Locked or unlocked bootloader?
Thank you for all the help and your time it is greatly appreciated.
Not sure if you need this info

You are using Z1s so you cant unlock your bootloader. It's locked by request of T-Mobile...
However you can root without unlock bootloader
Try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53407127&postcount=1004
or just use Towelroot to root
You can install recovery (must have for rooted device), ROM, any many things...but no Kernel for now (require unlocked bootloader...)

Unlocked bootloader is always rootable. But there is no difrence if you achive root with BL or UBL.
ROOT is just admin right and gives you option to mess around your phone.
And if you aim just to modify your phone a little bit, always try to root it without unlocking bootloader.
Hello again I am hoping someone would be willing to help me understand whats in this link a little more!! There are a few things I dont understand. [Q] Experia-z c6602 on Lollipop rooted through Kingroot

1. First, I would like to thank the XDA forum for its excellent tutorial on flashing lollipop rom using flashtool and for the lollipop ftf file. I have successfully flashed my xperia z.
2. I then "successfully" rooted my phone using Kingroot.
3. Please note the word successfully in quotes -- root checker apks tell me that my phone is rooted. Yet there are system programmes that I cannot uninstall.
4. Is it because I have not unlocked my bootloader?
Please share your experience. Thanks to all the people here.
No you don't need to unlock your bootloader.
Kingroot is not a good root tool.
Check this posthttp://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/general/super-su-xperia-device-lollipop-easy-t3119006
Thanks for the reply. I have gone through the thread you mention. But I get the message which says that sdcard cannot be mounted. Thanks again.

You're saying Kingroot isn't a good rooting tool as it is but within the same answer you're linking him to a step-by-step guide which requires him to use Kingroot ^^
I've had good experiences with Kingroot, just dont use the "Purify"-Functionality after the rooting process
Apart from this, if you use Kingroot and it works for you (meaning no random reboots because of the RIC-issue) you're good to go! Otherwise consider replacing KingUser with SuperSU

help rooting.

ok stock cricket htc desire510.
i decided to root this device is there a guide and if so could the link be provided.
also how safe is the rooting and unlock process.
i truely wish some one could have informed the this tool was safe.(link below.)
link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/des...l-windroid-universal-android-toolkit-t2984480
ps: yes i know i assume all risks involved in the unlock and root process.
also if kingo root is needed just forget it one bricked device from that is enough!
as always thanks for all help and keep up the fine work.

Here is the link to get unlocked, recovery, and rooted.
I believe this method is very safe as long as you follow it correctly. I've done it multiple times, but like you said, "yes i know i assume all risks involved in the unlock and root process."
You're in luck. As far as I know, kingoroot does not work, so you don't have to mess around with that.

In a pickle after kingroot

Hello, newbie here. Sorry If I'm in the wrong place, just needed some advice. I recently rooted my moto g via king root then replaced it with super su via wolfdroid method with terminal emulator. I've read it was a bad choice to use kingroot. Well anyhow I wanted to be able to install a custom recovery but have read it's not possible unless I unlock the bootloader as kingroot bypasses that procedure. My question is, is it possible to install a custom recovery on my device with a locked bootloader? Maybe via flashify or twrp manager? If not. What's the best way to fully unroot without doing any damage? Thank you in advance (p.s. I used kingroot as my laptop charger is broke)

Is it possible to root Moto X (xt1052)?

I have the OPO rooted and is great, my son wants some of the functionalities that i have in my phone but it needs to be rooted...
Sorry for my english (not my 1st or 2nd language)...
yes possible to root, i've rooted mine with king root, but you need to unlock your bootloader first, then install the .apk file of king root(the easiest method to root moto x), then get twrp recovery and you're good to go !
