MI 9 fastboot problem - Xiaomi Mi 9 Questions & Answers

Hi everyone,
I'm having some problems with fastboot mode, 2 computers don't recognize my MI9 in fastboot mode.
I tried to install and reinstall adb & fastboot drivers but nothing, I cannot unlock the bootloader.
Someone has a solution?
Thanks in advance

Have you enabled Debug USB?

yes.
In adb mode the phone is recognized, but in fastboot not

Did you already tried some other USB ports or cables?
Try that.
Use
adb reboot bootloader
then as soon as it reboots try again with
fastboot devices

[Q] Connection with PC

Hellow. I have some problem with connection of my One. Atm i wanna s-off my phone. But can't.
After connecting phone to usb2.0 port win8 recognise it well (checked by "adb devices -l"). But when i try to reboot into bootloader i've got "waiting for device" (fastboot reboot bootloader). Ok i'm switch off the phone and boot in bootloader (fastboot mode). Phisical connection is good (fastboot usb). Try to check connection by "adb devices -l" and i got no one device connected. But in same time i can easy flash recovery by "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img". Btw when i put phone in fastboot mode my win8 told me that connected device not recognised and can't work good, but when i start android win8 got my phone well. I've check it with two original htc usb cables and one not original.
Any ideas?
Thx!
When the phone is in fastboot mode, you use the fastboot command, adb won't work. When the phone is not in fastboot mode, you use the adb command, fastboot won't work.

are you using Windows 7/8/10 ?
did you boot into bootloader mode?
(adb debug mode is for adb and bootloader mode is for fastboot)
interaction is: adb reboot bootloader (when device is on and adb debug is on)

Need help (stuck on fastboot)

Hello,
I tried to install MIUI10 so I followed the tutorial. When I flashed I realized that I had checked the wrong case (clean all and lock instead of clean all) I panicked and unplugged my phone.
I only have access to the fastboot but pc no longer detects the phone I have a waiting device error
Your help will be appreciated.
Enter edl mode and try to flash stock rom with miflash.
Do not lock bootloader on custom rom, ever.

It's bricked. Try forcing edl mode by shorting pins. Method given here in the thread.

I see it but I search à software method :/
Thanks
Downloadhttp://xiaomi-miui-ota-3rdrom.ks3-cn-beijing.ksyun.com/rom/u265827351/3.3.525.23/miflash_unlock-en-3.3.525.23.zip this and after extracting open drivers application . boot to fastboot and then connect device .
Already try my device still no detected
There's no other way. I have the same issue (panicked and unplugged my phone) and successfully revived it by shorting the pins. Should try that method, it works!
Thanks you for all your reply. I will try shorting pins
even i tried eld by shorting two pins its not working for me
:crying: bro even i am in same condition bro please do help me if it works for you
hii ,
my screen is stuck on fastboot screen, it asks me to try again or power off . if i try again it asks me to try again or factory reset. dont want to do factory reset as i have too much data on phone. please help me regarding this.
Thanks

Confirmation about EDL!!

Hello!
I think i've bricked my Mi A2.
I have unlocked bootloader but locked critical partition which i cant unlock cause theres no OS to boot into and check the OEM option. Are there any alternatives before opening the phone for EDL?

if you can at least boot on fastboot and it's working, you can enter on edl mode from fastboot, there is a command to do it

Yeah already tried that but adb wont work
"no devices / emulators found". I think my computer cant see this devices mode, i also cant mount it when i use Clockwork.
I can use fastboot commands just fine though

You should try flashing the ROM normally. Just use the included script
ADB commands works only booted phone with USB dev mode.
Fastboot commands with fastboot mode. So you cant use ADB commands when your phone not booted up.

You dont have to boot phone to use ADB, you can adb sideload inside Clockwork (i sideloaded no-verity just fine).
By the way i managed to fix my phone by extracting the firmware and fastboot flash files one by one (2 files couldnt be installed cause they needed critical partition unlocked but it seems they werent anything critical cause phone works fine).

Did you try to just run the script with the fastboot commands? If you didn't modify critical partitions it should just work fine. Just ignore the error messages

I manually fastboot flash the files which i suppose is the same as with running the script, but i wanted to see which files wont get transfered cause of the locked critical partition. Android installed fine but couldnt install updates (edit: Thats probably because i rooted my device, it seems you cant automatic upgrade if you root) so i enabled OEM, unlocked critical partition, flashed normally with MiFlash tool, everythings like new now.
Now i only need a working Xposed Framework version.

unlock bootloader

With your phone on, make sure under developer options oem unlocking is allowed. . .
Then plug in the device to the computer....
Time for the fun to begin....
In ADB
Adb reboot bootloader (it takes your phone to bootloader mode)
Fastboot flashing unlock (warns you not to)
Click Yes when prompted on phone. (YAY!!!)
Please don't forget to save anything you need from ur phone , unlocking your bootloader will fully wipe your device ?
Quick question, Is it supposed to just be text on the bottom left that says fastboot mode?. I've done this on a couple of other phones but this is the first time I haven't seen a menu, also when I run fastboot flashing unlock I'm stuck on fastboot flashing unlock.

Same issues, run adb reboot bootloader and reboots but in funky fastboot. When sending fastboot commands such as fastboot devices nothing happens its not responding. Also if you get into fastboot via power and volume up, and connect to pc and try to run any fastboot commands no response back.

Turn on your phone, and do not connect to pc. Revoke USB debugging authorisation. Disable USB debugging. Enable USB debugging. Now connect your phone to pc. You should get a message on your phone about allowing USB debugging from that pc. Click don't ask again and then yes.
If you don't get that message try accessing phones storage through pc , that should prompt the phone to ask you about allowing USB debugging from that pc.
So click yes.
Now you should be able to run fastboot commands without problems.

No, sorry that is wrong.
ADB permission is not needed for fastboot. These are 2 different programs, with different protocals .
The fact there is no response from phone when in fastboot is a sign that pc drivers are not correctly installed, or the fastboot program needs to be updated.
