unlock bootloader - Blu Bold N1 Questions & Answers

With your phone on, make sure under developer options oem unlocking is allowed. . .
Then plug in the device to the computer....
Time for the fun to begin....
In ADB
Adb reboot bootloader (it takes your phone to bootloader mode)
Fastboot flashing unlock (warns you not to)
Click Yes when prompted on phone. (YAY!!!)
Please don't forget to save anything you need from ur phone , unlocking your bootloader will fully wipe your device ?

Quick question, Is it supposed to just be text on the bottom left that says fastboot mode?. I've done this on a couple of other phones but this is the first time I haven't seen a menu, also when I run fastboot flashing unlock I'm stuck on fastboot flashing unlock.

Same issues, run adb reboot bootloader and reboots but in funky fastboot. When sending fastboot commands such as fastboot devices nothing happens its not responding. Also if you get into fastboot via power and volume up, and connect to pc and try to run any fastboot commands no response back.

Turn on your phone, and do not connect to pc. Revoke USB debugging authorisation. Disable USB debugging. Enable USB debugging. Now connect your phone to pc. You should get a message on your phone about allowing USB debugging from that pc. Click don't ask again and then yes.
If you don't get that message try accessing phones storage through pc , that should prompt the phone to ask you about allowing USB debugging from that pc.
So click yes.
Now you should be able to run fastboot commands without problems.

No, sorry that is wrong.
ADB permission is not needed for fastboot. These are 2 different programs, with different protocals .
The fact there is no response from phone when in fastboot is a sign that pc drivers are not correctly installed, or the fastboot program needs to be updated.

Can you reboot into recovery again and enter to fastboot mode?
Can go between fast boot and the Bootloader menu but if I hit reboot, it just comes back to Bootloader. If I pick recovery it just flashes for a second and comes back to Bootloader. I am S-off btw.

ok so the guide walks me up to the point of installing fastboot for unbuntu using a couple cmd lines but for my specific situation will I need any files saved in specific locations? I have never used Ubuntu or Linux before so youll have to bear with me.
Ok so im in Ubuntu, I think I have the guide pretty much figured out, but It still doesnt want to detect my device. I installed ADB according to the guide, but "sudo fastboot devices" comes up blank and the phone only says "fastboot" not "fastboot usb"
entering the command to flash CWM gives me the same waiting for device message. I have tried multiple USB cables as well.

the phone has to say FASTBOOT USB, otherwise it's a problem with the port (phone/PC/cable).
ubuntu doesn't have driver issues, but when you connect your phone to the PC, it has to change from FASTBOOT to FASTBOOT USB.

It doesnt change, so then its likely something with the system partition as it relates to the USB port? Because the port was working fine until the failed flash. But what it sounds like is this is a brick?

doesn't sound like a brick at all, as long a hboot (ie bootloader is fine) no brick should be involved.
but i have to call it a night, hopefully someone will be along shortly, and take over... (timezones ) take it ease, DO NOT PANIC, DO NOT RUSH things!!
Cool, all your help is greatly appreciated. So I should hold off on the trip to the phone store?
Any other ideas to get communication to the phone?
Different Computer, USB Port, and USB Cable. Without saying FASTBOOT USB on the phone, can't do anything.

Fastboot Flash <remote failure>

I was on my phone and an app closed. Then it closed again when I tried to re-open it. Third time's the charm, it closed again and then google services stopped. Then my phone shut off. I wouldn't turn on, so I had to do the power button+volume down to get into the bootloader menu. I tried to boot up and was stuck with a bootloop. I downloaded a factory image and the latest android sdk.
So here is where I hit the issue. No matter what command I issue "fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img" or even "fastboot format cache" I get the same error "Failure <remote failure>".
I tried a different image to see if that was the issue and it didn't help. The device is being detected through fastboot. Any ideas?

My idea is that the bootloader is locked.
Bad cable or USB port perhaps or drivers not installed properly. The result of these can often be fastboot devices will show the device as connected yet be unable to flash.

The quotes from you posts gave me the impression that the hardware is OK.
Probably the drivers on your PC are also OK.
I assume the command 'fastboot devices' responded a device ID.
Other issues could be:
- the dosbox and fastboot commands on the PC are not started as administrator;
- the driver on the pc is an adb-driver and not an adb combined driver;
- the version of fastboot is obsolete;
- images flashed before were corrupt;
Possible actions:
Make sure the fastboot and also adb files including the dll's are up to date.
Check if the command 'adb devices' works.
Try to adb sideload a (stock) rom.

Use Linux dude, also try different cables. My stock g4 came with a bad cable that only charged.
I've had exactly the same problem as hammy88. Is what is referred to as "fastboot mode" the same as download mode? I know it's relatively easy to get into download mode. But "adb reboot bootloader" doesn't work for me.
Fastboot mode ≠ Download mode
If you did tick "Enable OEM unlock" , and adb reboot bootloader doesn't work, then I guess is BL is locked now.
I tried the method , i found that Android Bootloader does not have a green light, so i went to device manager to try to update the driver but it wasn't even there, clicked on view to show the hidden items or whatever then found android device, when i clicked update the driver i could not find the Google fastboot thing to update it with, all i got was either LG usb or ADB interface even thoough i downloader google fastboot usb drivers few days ago

yes.
In adb mode the phone is recognized, but in fastboot not
Did you already tried some other USB ports or cables?
Try that.
Use
adb reboot bootloader
then as soon as it reboots try again with
fastboot devices

You install fastboot rom with locked bootloader or unlocked?

Boooader locked in developer options but root working fine

Developer option shows bootloader as locked but after reboot bootloader shows as unlocked . twrp working but Fastboot not working so I'm afraid I might brick my device as I can't flash fastboot rom. Please help.
I wanna know what you mean by 'Fastboot not working'. Does it mean you can't boot into fastboot mode, or does it mean you can't access fastboot commands on your pc?
Also i wanna know, while unlocking Bootloader. Did you used commands
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
and
Code:
fastboot oem unlock_critical
?

If it's not responding to fastboot commands I worry that if correct drivers are installed on your pc.
Plug-in ur device while in fastboot mode to your pc.
Open Mi Unlock tool(this works very first time, you don't even have to install this tool). There's a setting icon on top right corner.
A dialogue box will appear, displaying to install drivers.
Install 'em. It will ask you to remove and plug-in your device again.
Now, download the platform tools file.
Open cmd in the platform tools folder.
Now try using fastboot commands.
It's same for me.
You can ignore that safely.

Boot your phone, connect through USB to PC. Now check in Windows File Explorer. Is your device visible there?
If not, open Device Manager and you'll find something with the name adb (You can go through this guide). In my case it was under Acer. Just update those drivers manually and see if your device is visible now.

If you're rooted and have magisk hide enabled, it's normal, Magisk spoofs locked bootloader to pass safetynet in MIUI
