Well i told ya it's not safe, and @KevMetal said it's impossible to brick and the worst that could happen is that it refuses to flash.

It could be, that does seem like an old firmware, or some service type firmware.. what is the security patch date?
---------- Post added at 05:48 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:40 PM ----------
Maybe you can find older firmware here, seems to me that you flashed firmware for wrong region.. do you remember what firmware you had before you flashed it.?

Mmm , like I said ... it's easy IF you download the correct firmware ...my suspicion is that you flashed the system image of another device or model

It's for my device but I think it was some incompatibility issue. The only wrong thing is the status bar which it's a bit lower than before but there's no hide notch thing so I think it's from my device and everything is fine. The good thing is that It is from March 1, 2018 so I don't care! You both helped me and sorry for like 20 thousand posts
Oh and another weird thing is that there are no updates (I don't need them but it's weird I guess) even if this is from march 2018 and it's 1 year old

Dude I accept your apology but next time you are angry, dont try to be so mean about it. When he posted this he probably didnt know about the not rooting thing and maybe there are people who dont root in the first place and just want to update to the latest security patch. Just dont be aggressive next time. You could get banned for cussing btw.
Thats cool this is posted just to let everyone know the update is here. However, if you care at all about root do not flash this,,,you will lose root forever and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. Why Samsung decided to lock down a three year old phone is beyond me??
I guess it's at least partially positive I went from the sprint to the u variant before my stupid self let everything else update lol.

u can flash using odin any pie firmware if same model number, ie n960f/d.
sure u know how to flash via odin since u in xda forum, also whether simply flashing odin firmware will void knox or not.
Funny how Samsung is handling this. Having a Note 9 in Malaysia is like having the best hardware with appalling after sales software support. ... Even Chinese competitors like oneplus 6t and huawei mate 20 pro are on Pie here. No wonder Samsung is losing its ground!!!

Just flash it with the latest firmware like everyone else, there are guides on how to do this. Malaysia isn't the only country that doesn't have Pie yet, not sure what isn't being understood here.

Hi,
I'm curious and really tempting to do so.
Just wondering - by doing this - will not affect our installed apps, right? Finger cross (as i don't see anything saying required to wipe data / internal / factory reset)
How's the One UI performance overall after you installed it?

i did a factory reset after installation. but that was my choice. i was still able to use the apps without the reset. performance wise.. the phone felt smoother after the reset but that will be the case even if i did not update i guess.

[TA-1012] Downgrade from Oreo/Pie to Nougat

Hi everyone.
I have a Nokia 8 for months, and I tried to downgrade my phone but I'm still stuck atm.
TA-1012
00WW_4_88B_SP07
Oreo 8.1 - December Security Patch
From what I understood, there isn't prepatched boot image for security patches above November, so I can't flash other firmwares...
Is there a way that I can rollback to NOUGAT by updating first to Pie ? And with april patch ?
I'm wondering if I could have Nougat one day
Thank you
I'll answer my own post since I managed to do it :
So I used NOST to flash NB1-303A-0-00WW-B01.nb0 (the first Nougat firmware for TA-1012) and it worked like a charm.
Sorry for the useless topic.

Battery, RAM and CPU consumption.
On ALL of my devices, I compared the oldest ROM with the next one and I always get better results on an old ROM. I mean, new firmwares are for new phones and can't be adapted perfectly to old devices in order to keep the same consumption.
It's like updating apps, in most of the case, your phone will lag more and more when you update your apps.

Need help to downgrade my note 8 to a previous update (N950USQU7DTA3)

So, couple months ago AT&T released an update (in January 2020) which I saw a significantly improved battery life by 25% I was planing to disable my updates for future updates because I really liked it! However, 2 weeks later one day i wake up and my phone forced a new update and the battery life got back to the same even worse that what it used to be before that first update! Now, I am looking to downgrade my update to (N950USQU7DTA3) to be specific. I cant seem to find the file. Is there a source to find it? Also, Its been years since I've done this. Is there a way you guys recommend doing it without causing any issues?
Thanks!
At&t does not post firmware. Just flash any US firmware it's all the same. It will provision to your At&t sim

Sad to hear. Downgrading will not fix this Screen issue as i heard. I alo stucked on 202 june 01 update when i had my Note 9. Because of this screen burn issue. I thin you may try by updat or downgrading. But screen replacement is the one and only option in this time.
Some replaced their screen and the problem came back and when i use an app called oled saver the screen get fixed like 90%. Its a mystery or purposely done but over a thousand dollars phone that last 2 years is really not fair....
