[GUIDE] Unlocking Bootloader/Rooting Device/Custom Recovery (TWRP)-NOOB Guide-Oreo

Hi everyone, first thing my English is not good so don’t laugh at me, I just try to share some knowledge which is easily understandable by NOOB. This guide is for NOOB with detailed steps and for those who face problem installing TWRP (i.e. no matter how hard or how many times you successfully install twrp, but always end up with stock recovery or bootloop or system freeze on boot image).
From several years I use the universal approach for rooting devices i.e.
UNLOCK BOOTLOADER  CUSTOM RECOVERY  ROOTINGBut recently I encountered a problem installing TWRP in REDMI 4X, I carefully follow each and every steps successfully but always end up with stock recovery or device freeze on boot image, i tries so many times and frustrated then I discover a solution and successfully installed TWRP.
Same things happen with my OnePlus 3 A3003 and the same solution did the job, so I decided the make a comprehensive guide which easily understandable by NOOB.
In this guide my approach is:
UNLOCK BOOTLOADER  ROOTING  CUSTOM RECOVERY
Prerequisite:
• Install adb command line tool. Download it from here https://mega.nz/#!zMxkhAob!y9ykzuULkPiccZGHGsJ_NzspqxynyikHhHr-uLywnwo
• Copy recovery.img to location C:\adb. https://mega.nz/#!qQIGTJQI!E6I2sHEBMy5z3k02jeTB-M3I4iZvPoSOHQHb612YBFs
• Place Magisk-v16.0.zip in root directory of phone storage. https://mega.nz/#!aIpSnbBC!DE5UIkABgxQNdfkNqqHPidHj-ywaZzT6RgEQwmpFqyw
• I tested this method on Oneplus 3 A3003 Oxygen OS 5.0.1
Unlocking Bootloader:
• enable developer option: go to SETTING  ABOUT PHONE  tap BUILD NUMBER 7 times.
• enable options in SETTING  DEVELOPERS OPTION (ADVANCE REBOOT, OEM UNLOCKING, USB DEBUGGING).
• reboot device into FASTBOOT/BOOTLOADER mode with the help of ADVANCE REBOOT.
• connect your device with USB.
• Go to location C:\adb and hold Shift key & do right click, you see option in drop down menu Open command window here, open command window.
• Give command “fastboot devices”, it shows the connected device and its serial number.
• Now give command “fastboot oem unlock” allow oem unlocking from your device screen. Your phone will restart after oem unlocking done.
(this step will wipe all your data)
• Congrats your phone is successfully unlocked. (you can check you unlock status in developer option)
Rooting:
• reboot device into FASTBOOT/BOOTLOADER mode with the help of ADVANCE REBOOT.
• connect your device with USB.
• Go to location C:\adb and hold Shift key & do right click, you see option in drop down menu Open command window here, open command window.
• Give command “fastboot devices”, it shows the connected device and its serial number.
• Now give command “fastboot boot recovery.img” this command will boot the recovery.img temporary you placed in C:\adb. Your phone will restart and booting TWRP temporary.
(if you wish to flash TWRP permanently you give the command “fastboot flash recovery recovery.img” instead, but it didn’t work for me I always end up with a stock recovery or freezing at boot image or bootloop)
• In TWRP allow system modification. Go to INSTALL select Magisk-v16.0.zip and swipe right to flash it, wait until the process done.
• Press HOME button in TWRP go to WIPEADVANCE WIPE and wipe system delvik & cache.
• Restart the phone and wait for approx. 10 min.
• You successfully rooted your device.
Custom Recovery:
• After successfully rooting your device, place the same recovery you placed in C:\adb to your phone root directory.
• Install Flashify from google play store or download it from here https://mega.nz/#!ydI3hAKC!gcH4T8Wd0mKxTFgsFxLLppnxMYPYto5PI3ahonewf1Y
• Open Flashify choose flash recovery, browse recovery.img and flash it.
• Congrats you successfully installed TWRP custom recovery now you can check it by rebooting into recovery mode by ADVANCE REBOOT.

Why download that wierd zip at stage 14 and not just flash TWRP.img file to recovery partition? :S
I think it disables encryption in twrp so you don't have to do the factory reset. Anyways I did without this zip. Unlocked bootloader, fastboot flashed twrp, fastboot booted twrp. Made factory reset in twrp. Flashed twrp.img in twrp (just in case). Wiped dalvick, cache, data, internal storage and flashed my desired rom (miuipro). Of corse I used memory card to make this process easier.
Yeah it worked for me as well, dident use the zip at step 14. Just fastboot boot twrp, flash to recovery partition, factory reset wipe. (data, cache & dalvik) and then flash rom of choice.
Thanks a lot!

Bit noob here, how can I flash the zip to disable encryption when I'm not able to read my internal storage after flashing twrp through fastboot. So basically I'm not able to flash twrp. Do I need to buy a sd card for flashing twrp, no other way? :crying:
Well. Noobs should read first before post. Read at least the post bofore yours.

Noob read the first post as well the post above but pros didn't understand what noob is asking. Without sd card can we do this? as I'm not able to read internal storage after flashing twrp image, also we need to format internal storage to disable encryption and obviously that deletes the twrp.img file. So my simple question was can I flash twrp without sd card? If yes please tell me how, as I am noob. Thank you.
Put twrp on internal storage.
Flash twrp with fastboot:
Fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
Fastboot boot twrp.img
In twrp flash img again (just in case) to recovery partion.
Then factory reset in twrp or flash disable-encryption zip. Reboot recovery.
Put your rom from pc to twrp via mtp (you can do this along with twpr.img if U will flash disable-encryption zip). Twrp should work in mtp mode. And then flash it with necessary wipes.
Its says like cannot add more accounts to this sim card

How to root SM-J337P

Prerequisites:
- Samsung USB Drivers

- Stock firmware img (To find version: Settings > About phone > Software version)
1. Activate developer mode.
- Settings > About Phone > Software Information
- Click "Build Number" repeatedly until it says "Congratulations! You are a developer!"
2. Enable USB Debugging and authorize computer.
- Settings > Developer Options > USB Debugging
3. Disable screen lock: Settings > Lock Screen > Screen lock type > None
4. Remove any Google or Samsung accounts: Settings > Accounts and backup > Accounts
5. Unlock boot loader WARNING: THIS WILL ERASE YOUR DATA AND RESET THE DEVICE

6. Copy the stock farmware img to your phone. You want the file that starts with "AP"
7. Install Magisk Manager by going to the magisk manager website on your phone and hitting "Download Magisk Manager" button and installing the app. The first time you open it, it will need to do additional setup and reboot your device.
8. Open Magisk Manager and select "Install" next to "Magisk." Click Install again, and then click "Select and Patch a File"
9. Select the firmware img you just copied to the phone.
10. Wait for process to complete. (Writing: system.img.lz4 takes a minute)

13. Turn off the phone
14. Open Odin on PC
15. Boot phone into Odin mode: With the phone powered off, press and hold Vol-, Home, and Power until the blue warning screen appears, and then press Vol+ to enter Odin mode.
16. Your phone should appear in Odin on your PC
17. Click the AP button and select the "magisk_patched.tar" file.
18. Click "Start" and then DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING!
19. When the process is complete, a boc in Odin should say "PASS!" and be green. Your phone will reboot. (It will take longer than normal.)
20. Close Odin
21. Initial phone setup. Blah blah...
22. After initial setup, you may get a notification on your phone warning you of unauthorized changes. (Duh.) Just select it and hit cancel.
23. Install Magisk Manager on your phone again (repeat step 6)
24. After a reboot, open Magisk Manager again and it should say "Magisk is up to date."
You are done! Enjoy root access!

How to install
custom rom
******************
You will need:
*PC with Odin 3.13.1 or above
(https://samsungodin.com)
*TWRP .tar image for your model
Flat: https://eu.dl.twrp.me/herolte/
Edge: https://eu.dl.twrp.me/hero2lte/
*Rom
(Stored on external memory/sdcard)
*Unlocked OEM
To unlock OEM
********************************************
Go to settings, phone information, and tap build number until it says developer options unlocked, press back twice and go into developer options turn on OEM unlock
********************************************
1. Put your phone into download mode by turning your phone off, now press volume down, power and home key at the same time until the screen turns green, then release the buttons.
2. Open Odin on your PC and plug the USB cable into your phone and press volume up.
You will see it is connected to Odin, (there will be a blue rectangle saying com(number)
3. Select the AP section and load your TWRP .tar image in there.
4. Get ready to press volume up, home and power button at same time on your phone now press start on Odin, it will only take a few seconds, as soon as the box goes green and says pass, press the volume up, home and power button combo until TWRP splash screen shows up on your phone screen. Now release button combo and unplug USB cable from your phone.
5. In twrp press wipe, then format. A keyboard will appear, type yes and press enter. Now press back to go to TWRP main screen and press reboot and select reboot to recovery. It will now reboot back into TWRP.
6. Press wipe again, then format, type yes, press enter. (Do this 3 times)
Press back to go to TWRP main screen and press wipe, select advanced wipe, check all boxes apart from OTG and SDCARD and swipe. (Do this 3 times)
Press back to go to TWRP main screen and press wipe then swipe to factory reset. (Do this 3 times)
********************************************
Your phone is now completely clear with no operating system and ready to flash a custom rom. When you downloaded your rom, you stored it on your sd card or external storage, you need to do this as when you do all the wipes it wipes your internal storage but not your sd card, that's why it says in advanced wipe don't check the sd card or OTG boxes.
********************************************
7. Press back until you go to main screen in TWRP and select install, select storage, external (sd card) and select the rom zip. Now just swipe to flash.
Normally it will go into aroma which contains check boxes of extra items to add into the rom, this rom however is a straight flash, it will automatically detect your phone model and select the correct kernel and battery capacity. It will say Installation finished when done. Now go back to main twrp screen and select reboot and press system. The phone will reboot, leave it 10-15mins to allow it to load the rom, be patient. Then you will be at the set up page just like starting a new phone. Set up from there and enjoy the rom.

Many thanks Looks amazing love the fact it's debloated. Downloading now
So far it looks very good, so brisk.
One thing I'm looking for - automatic call recording. I don't know if this version allows it in the usual place in Phone - I haven't found the settings yet.
Strictly good work. Thanks for that.

[ATTENTION]
Before proceeding with this guide you must have performed the unlock the bootloader, HERE you can find the guide made by me
[Download the necessary files]
(1) Download:
- Twrp by DarkJocker360 (Download the most recent, even if there is script P10 lite is perfectly compatible with our mobile)
- Magisk
- Aosp10
- MagiskHidePr op s
- Gapp (select ARM64, 10.0, nano)
- Fix NFC (without this the NFC module does not work)
- Encrypt Disable (Without this nothing works)
- Kernel Morfuz
- Magisk Unistaller
(2) Now we have to put everything (except the Twrp and the Aosp10 which instead will be put in the folder created on the desktop) on a microSD that we will insert in the mobile
(3) Extract the Aosp from the archive, always in the folder created on the desktop, we should obtain a file with a silmile wording DarkJoker360_AOSP-10_prague-20201009.img
[Recovery installation (all commands are without quotes)]
(1) Connect the mobile phone to the computer and provide the debug permissions as in the previous points
(2) Let's move to the folder created on the desktop and open a powershell as in point 4 of [UNLOCK BOOTLOADER], give the command "adb devices" to verify that our mobile is displayed
(3) Now we give the command "adb fastboot bootloader" and we send, we will see the same screen as in point 7 [BOOTLOADER UNLOCK]
(4) In the powershell we give the following command to install the recovery "fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk TWRP_3.4.0-0-warsaw_DarkJoker360_20200611.img"
(5) It will take very little, once finished we give the command "fastboot reboot" and just the screen of the mobile phone turns black immediately disconnect it from the computer and immediately hold down
the volume key up + power, as soon as we feel a slight vibration we leave only the finger from the power button, as soon as the huawei logo appears we can also remove it from the volume. After a few seconds two words will appear, one white and one yellow, let's wait a bit and we will be in recovery mode
[Aosp10 installation (all commands are without quotes)]
[To enter RECOVERY MODE, always from the mobile phone off: combination of volume up + power keys, as soon as we hear a slight vibration we leave only the finger from the power button, as soon as the huawei logo appears we can also remove it from the volume]
[If during any procedure from recovery the screen should be turned off, just double-tap or lightly press the power button and slide the slider to unlock it]
(1) In the screen that appears, drag the slider to enter the recovery screen
(2) Let's go to Wipe ---> Advanced wipe ---> and select Dalvik / artcache; cache; date; system and drag the slider to confirm
(2.1) Whenever we are installing something from the twrp and a new screen with two blue ticks appears, we remove them and drag the slider again
(3) We press the home icon at the bottom center to return to the initial screen of the twrp
(4 ) We connect the mobile phone to the computer and in the twrp go to Reboot ---> Bootloader
(5) We will see the same screen as in point 7 [UNLOCK BOOTLOADER]
(6) Let's move to the folder created on the desktop and open a powershell as in point 4 of [BOOTLOADER UNLOCK]
(7) We give the following command to install in the real operating system "fastboot flash system DarkJoker360_AOSP-10_prague-20201009.img" and send it, it will take a couple of minutes
(8) Once finished we give the command "fastboot reboot" and as soon as the screen of the mobile phone turns black let's immediately disconnect it from the computer and immediately hold down
the volume key up + power, as soon as we feel a slight vibration we leave only the finger from the power button, as soon as the huawei logo appears we can also remove it from the volume. After a few seconds
two words will appear , one white and one yellow, let's wait a bit and we will be in recovery mode, we can do the slide again to access the twrp functions
(9) Go to Install ---> Select Storage ---> MicroSd card and select "magisk-phh-v19.3-for + v218.zip" ---> scroll the slide to install, once the installation is finished, press the home button
(10) Back in the home we proceed as follows: Mount ---> Select storage ---> internal storage; here we uncheck everything and select ONLY the VENDOR item and press the home button
(11) We continue like this: Install ---> select internal storage ---> microSD ---> Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_08.18.2019.zip --- > slide to install and wait for it to finish, it could give an error in red but does not compromise anything ---> press on Reboot Sytem (see point 2.1)
(12) If everything went well, our phone will start up in a couple of minutes, but that's not all
(13) Recovery mode
(14) Slide to enter recovery ---> Install ---> Select Storage ---> MicroSd card ---> press on open_gapps-arm64 ---> slide to install
(14.1) If it gives us an error in red with the number 70 we solve as described in the following line:
(Fix error 70) Key home ---> Wipe ---> Advanced Wipe ---> Repair or Change File System ---> We select only the System item ---> Resize File System ---> swipe to confirm ---> home button ---> Install ---> Select Storage ---> MicroSd card ---> press on open_gapps-arm64 ---> slide to install ---> reboot system (see point 2.1)
(15) Recovery mode
(16) Slide to enter recovery ---> Install ---> Select Storage ---> MicroSd card ---> press on NFCfix ---> swipe to confirm ---> reboot system (see point 2.1)
(17) Recovery mode
(18) Slide to enter recovery ---> Install ---> Select Storage ---> MicroSd card ---> press on MagiskHidePropsConf-v4.0.0 ---> swipe to confirm ---> reboot system (see point 2.1)
(19) After the mobile phone starts you can connect to a wifi network, set up your google account and install from playstore ONLY AND ONLY, the two applications below, I leave you the lnk to verify that they have the same icon:
Termux and BusyBox
(Once installed we open Busybox, we will be asked for root permissions and we grant them, it will start loading all the modules and it will take 2-3 minutes, once finished we press on install, we close the window that will appear)
(20) We return to the applications, we open Termux and provide root permissions if asked and type in order:
su (and we give enter)
props (and we give enter)
1 (and we give enter)
f (and we give enter)
(21) At this point we enter the number corresponding to Huawei and send it; number corresponding to the model which is "p8 lite" and we send; at each next entry that comes out we type the y to confirm and so the mobile will restart
[Attention! the next two steps I don't know if they are really necessary but I did them and the phone is fine]
- Recovery mode
- Slide to enter recovery ---> Install ---> Select Storage ---> MicroSd card ---> press on Magisk-uninstaller ---> swipe to confirm ---> reboot system (see point 2.1)
- Recovery mode
- Slide to enter recovery ---> Install ---> Select Storage ---> MicroSd card ---> press on Kernel_Morfuz5.6_HI6250 ---> swipe to confirm ---> reboot system (see point 2.1)
- Recovery mode
- Slide to enter recovery ---> Wipe ---> Advanced Wipe ---> and select Dalvik / Artchache and cache ---> swipe to confirm ---> reboot system (see point 2.1)
[ WARNING! THESE STEPS ARE FUNDAMENTAL TO MAKE ALL APPLICATIONS WORK]
- Recovery mode
- Slide to enter recovery ---> Wipe ---> Advanced Wipe ---> and select ONLY internal storage ---> swipe to confirm --- > reboot system (see point 2. 1)
[END]
Now you can enjoy the call and download from the back all the anxiety you have accumulated during the procedure: P

Do we really need flash Disable_DmVerity*.zip? Is it equivalent of replacing edited fstab.hi6250(like in this post) via TWRP. Second, what is the advantage of using TWRP for p10 lite over official TWRP for p8 lite.

Yes is necessary, all kind of twrp aren't able to disable encryption automatically
Did this on WAS-LX1A. Got into bootloop after installing the "Kernel_Morfuz5.6_HI6250". Reinstalled stock through recovery and did the whole thing again without installing the kernel and it's all fine.

i can't handle the external memory card. I want to be able to use it as a storage device without losing the possibility of exchanging files with a PC.
I am convinced that it is not a Rom problem.

I could try.
the problem occurs when, from the device, you choose to use the sd card and therefore you are asked to format it.
from this moment the card works perfectly for applications and device data but if you try to transfer files by connecting the device to the pc, no external memory available is detected.
It gives error 70 even after step 14.1...can someone help me?
