[guide] steps to unbrick Redmi note 7 (lavender) - Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi guys,
I) My phone status before hardbricked:
- Bootloader unlocked
- twrp installed
II) Cause to hardbricked:
- I flashed the global rom "lavender_global_images_V10.2.7.0.PFGMIXM_20190408.0000.00_9.0_global_082cfb72fb", then flash the china rom "lavender_images_V10.3.1.0.PFGCNXM_20190403.0000.00_9.0_cn_a2cbd6207b"
III) Way to unbrick:

1. Download and install QPST.
2. Download and Extract fastboot rom folder. You can use any latest fastboot rom. If you have Global variant use Global fastboot rom and if China variant use China fastboot rom to prevent being stucked on recovery (Miui version can't be installed in this device).
3. Download patched prog_emmc_firehose_Sdm660_ddr.mbn and copy inside fastboot rom images folder.
4. Remove back cover, remove battery. While connecting 2 Test-Point, plug in USB cable into PC

Instead of opening the phone short circuiting the usb cable may work too more info on this thread (bottom op)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-zuk-z2/how-to/lenovo-z2-plus-zuk-z2-plus-hard-brick-t3713126

what do u mean hardbricked? it doesnt turn on anymore? or u cant go to fastboot or recovery mode?. and why would it hardbricked if you were just flashing global to china rom?, u forgot to wipe before flashing?.. sorry for lot of questions, im a bit paranoid since im about to flash mine.

My redmi note 7 stuck on redmi-recovery 3.0 after I flash global rom to my chinese redmi note 7.
I can open the fastboot, I tried to flash chinese rom,but it said 'error cannot flash in lock state.'
then I think to edl mode, I have deep flash cable (DFC). I tried in fastboot mode but I cant open the 9008 port. any idea?

Hi!
This method helped me recover my Redmi Note 7 from bootloop. Thank you very much!!!
My situation was the following:
I flashed Global Rom onto phone Chinese version and accidentally locked the bootloader. After that, only opening the back cover and short-circuiting Test-Point contacts with battery unplugged helped get the COM 9008 port in Windows. Next QFIL flashed Chinese ROM into eMMC without problem, and the phone could boot into UI again!
I followed the steps precisely and confirm it works.
Also, while opening the back cover I realised that my phone had been opened by seller before me! The Test-Points contacts had distinctive dents from tweezers! I bought the phone from AliExpress from 'Xiaomi Retail Store' seller as a brand new one, but it turned out to be the contrary :|
Wish you successful restoring of your phones , mates!

How unbrick redmi note 7 pro. Now in loop mode
Hi I need help to unbrick my phone. Please help!!! I need a last guide in details! I try many time with fast boot mode and adb. But i wrong something ...

Praised be thy guide. I rescued my phone from brick hell with this.
A few things to notice though:
I was using the European rom "lavender_eea_global_images_V10.3.5.0.PFGEUXM_20190716.0000.00_9.0_eea_5213a13935" and then stupidly flashed the global version.
With the "This MIUI version is not compatible with this device" message, my $250 phone instantly became a beautiful shiny brick.
Even when I selected keep user data (not lock) the device locked.
I tried to flash another rom using MiFlash to no avail. You need authorization from an official account to do that.
Then, I attempted this method with the european rom instead of the chinese one. Did not work.
This was out of fear as I did not really know the variant of my phone. After looking at the box the phone came in, I found the serial "M1901XXX" which pointed me that my phone was the chinese variant with an european rom.
I finally decided that I would give it a shot with the latest chinese rom. Followed the instructions *to the letter* and I got the chinese ROM working.
Closing thoughts and things I learnt from 16 hours of googling:
Be more careful with what you flash. Always check and heed warnings.
Always select clean. Never keep data or clean and lock. That is how I bricked.
There are two bootloaders in a phone: Primary Bootloader and Emergency Bootloader
All Qualcomm devices have this special mode (EDL) to directly flash a ROM to the EMMRC memory. This is done through the sahara protocol
Qualcomm has developed a special framework called Firehose programmer for creating partition tables and other low level operations.
Xiaomi locked down this EDL mode and made updates through it only available from authorised accounts due to malware and blah blah blah. ("Only noop and sig can be received before...")
ChocoML has provided us with a Firehose programmer file that bypasses these restrictions. However, to my knowledge, it ONLY works with the Chinese ROM and therefore, with devices that support that rom.
THEORICALLY, you can keep user data even after all these low level operations: http://en.miui.com/thread-235865-1-1.html (Scroll to blue text).
Every device/processor has a different Firehose programmer file. For other devices, look for the appropiate Firehose file.
Redmi Note 7 Pro (India) has a different chipset (violet). Do not attempt to use this guide.
Make sure you've got a fine USB cable with data transfer properties. DO NOT EVEN THINK OF BREATHING NEARBY THIS CABLE WHEN FLASHING. Lest you get a permabrick.
"Receiving hello packet" Error: Reboot the PC and phone to Solve it.
You cannot dawdle when flashing using the QFIL. As soon as you establish a connection to the 9008 port, click on download. Lest you get a Sahara Protocol Error.
Useful tip: Do not connect the USB cable last to your device. Connect it first to the device and last to the computer. It's easier to short the testpoints this way.
Heat guns are hard to regulate. Hot plates with temperature displays are recommended to avoid display damage.
Have a great deal of patience. It's touch and go with these things. Do not try to rush.
Unplugging the battery is compulsory. You do not have to physically remove it: just remove the ribbon cable that connects it to the MB.
Make sure you are flashing a Fastboot rom and not a recovery one.
After I flashed the Chinese rom, the phone rebooted yet again to recovery. Reboot and check if it works. If not, wipe data and reboot.
Exercise circumspection when updating or changing ROMS. Be sure not to trigger the Anti Rollback, which has a similar upshot as flashing the incorrect rom version
You can no longer apply for an authorised Mi account. Thread 404'd
Do not pay extremely high fees for unlocking online. Try this tutorial first. Then service center. Only then pay.
Do not lose hope. This is the most important point of the list! It took a while and it certainly was a surly experience but you can pull it off. (Unless you've got the global version; may God be with you in that case)

Good Luck my ditzy friends.

Tôi đã làm đầy đủ theo hướng dẫn báo thành công nhưng nó không khởi động điện thoại xách tay redmi note7 China chuối

Does it work for the Moto G7 Power? they bring the same processor

Analyzing Qualcomm protocols, rewiring cables, opening back covers. I will happily stay on my Global and just root in 2 days after the waiting period is done as I see myself doing the same once I successfully kill my phone by accidently pressing the wrong button while flashing something that I shouldn't have changed in the first place.

Gracias. Me ha funcionado.

Maybe you flashed a rom for lavender (redmi note 7) instead of rolex(redmi 4a) so now your device is bricked, but thanksfully, there's a way to fix it. Follow the link below:
https://c.mi.com/thread-1479882-1-0.html
For easiness, here's the link for mi flash tool.
MIFLASH TOOL
And here's the stock firmware:
ROLEX FIRMWARE
Also, next time, whenever you dowload a rom, remember that your device is rolex. In the rom file name, see ROLEX.
Good evening,
I followed this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjHMp9ayjak&feature=emb_rel_end
to be able to connect my redmi 4a with the pc. I was then able to launch Mi flash Tool and flash the stock global developer rom.
at this stage, the mobile still does not turn on. No connection via fastboot or adb.

Why did you flash developer rom. Try to flash the rom which link i gave. Also, check if your usb cable is working or not.
Edit:
Also, do you tet the ful method.
You need to remove back cover.
Then using a tweezer, press the two edl pins on mobile motherboard(be carefull not to damage it)
Then connect to pc and open mi flash and flash the ron which link i gave you above. It should restore your phone. Otherwise, show it to a shop.
The usb cable works because I was able to connect to the pc and Mi-Flash tool.
I always put a stock developer rom because I want to be able to install behind a custom rom. So I need the unlocked bootloader.
I will try with your rom. No, I have not tried the full method. I will do it.
I hope the battery is not dead ...

Umm, i have never installed a developer rom and i am still able to flash custom roms. Currenlty i am using crdroid 6.3 rolex
It seems all right
Thank you
Hello,
I started the procedure twice.
Each time, for the mobile to turn on again, it was necessary to disconnect and reconnect the battery cable and the one that allows the EDL (small cable next to that of the battery); otherwise, the mobile remains off whatever we do.
This is not mentioned anywhere in any tutorial. I put it here in case it could help one out.
Another thing, your stock rom seems better than mine because I got the scale in landscape format. However, I read in the tutorial that you transmitted to me that there could be fakes in the global stock roms ...
Hi. I cannot download the custom crdroid rom 5. I only have 6. and I cannot install the 'viper4android' module from magisk on Android 10. It seems that the application cannot be install only on android 7.8 or 9.
would you have a link for crdroid 5?
Hi. Do you have a valid link for a global developer rom?
I explain: by installing 'your stable rom' via edl mode, I got all my sensors. then I flash twrp and the problems start. I have error messages during installation. then the lineages os 17 rom installs well except that ... I no longer have my sensors ... So I was wondering if with a rom developer, it would change something

It happend with me too, all you need to do is re-flash your persist (it contains all the sensor files).
---------- Post added at 01:46 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:43 AM ----------
To flash persist,
join the official redmi 4a group in telegram (if you use): t.me/redmi4aINT
Here, you will find persist zip.
Also, persist is device specific.
OR.
From the stock rom file. copy "persist.img" to you internal storage.
in twrp, open terminal and type
Code:
simg2img /sdcard/persist.img /sdcard/persist_EXT4.img
dd if=/sdcard/persist_EXT4.img of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/persist
It will fiix it.
Hello,
Thank you for your help. Everything is working. On the other hand, the rom 'crdroid' does not work correctly. I returned to lineage 17.
I don't know how it says [solved] in the title?

General [X60 PRO+] Chinese variant - Official Stock ROM Collection

thats good!
and how can i flash it?
My device is last week broken . is the rom flashable with fastboot? thx mike
How did you broken the device?
You can simply upload zip on device with adb command and flash by using stock recovery mode
adb push .....
I tried to flash my patched boot.img (via_magisk) with the MTKROOT V2.5.5 tool. -https://www.ayudaroot.com/root/vivo/como-rotear-los-telefonos-vivo-x60-pro-plus . The first problem was unlocking the bootloader. That did not make the tool. The tool failed .. I unlocked that manually in fastboot mode. After the bootloader was open, I tried the tool for the second time.
That was probably the serious mistake! The tool has transferred the patched boot img. So far everything was o. K. Then I booted to the Recovery Menu to clean the data and cache partition. (Factory Reset). Then restart system. Since then I have a bootloop and it was not possible to boot into recovery mode.
Then I flashed from the Indian Rom the boot and the recovery image.
Now the device booted again in Indian Recovery Mode (English). Then I tried to execute the recovery WLAN update. Unfortunately, the system has found no access points when searched.
!! F *** K !!
The next day I tried to flash the original CN-ROM with the QPST flashtool from https://www.needrom.com/download/vivo-x60-pro-plus/ ..
Here I had problems installing the Qualcomm driver for the EDL download mode or to boot the device in the EDL mode.
Without success!
Finally, I tried to flash all the items of the CN-ROM from Needrom via Fastboot. The Flash order of the items I had from the partition.xml file on the CN-ROM.
But I still have a bootloop ..
No access to the recovery WLAN Update-No networks are displayed ..
Do you have an idea for the EDL download mode?

My PC is over adb unautorized, after the Factory reset...
I managed to get this full rom from Recovery, there is a option to download the full last rom and burn. I use another phone with photo google translator to navegate in the menu.
I know this option with the update from the WLAN - but this option is no longer available to me - after the search for a network is completed, no further networks are displayed. He doesn't find any networks.
And the second problem was - I cannot import this Update.zip into the main directory because the PC is unauthorized.
It wasn't just the MTK tool that was wrong.
I think our mistake was you mixed recovery and boot of another Rom. I did that many years ago with Huawei but for me it was a hard brick. Better not mix!
yes i think thatat too. first step now- i try to put the phone in EDL download mode. Then I could try the Qualcomm Flash Tool -. .. But thank you anyway.
with which command did you unlocked the bootloader? I can't find a way.
@88user88 : i wish you the best.
Do you see a way to flash the indian ROM?
Question was not for me but:
I think i have a way that works. But for that I need the command to unlock the bootloader. Because none of the normal ones works.

hello i am a new user in vietnam, can you guide me in detail how to install . Thank you very much
I spent almost 5 hrs yesterday tried to flash from CN ROM, Origin OS to Global ROM, FunTouch OS. I used several methods including AFTool, QFIL, and QPST tool. None of them succeed.
AFTool - failed to flash because missing Fastboot batch file in the global firmware.
QFIL - failed to flash because, Qualcomm Driver 9808 not detected.
QPTS - failed to flash because, Qualcomm Driver 9808 not detected.
I like Origin OS but the reason I want to change to FunTouch OS is because Origin OS didn't come with Google Mobile Seevice package. In fact, 'Hey Google' also didn't worked out.

OK, if we manage to restore my device, I'll give you instructions on how you can unlock your bootloader. then at least I know that in an emergency you also have the option to restore your device.
otherwise it would be too unsafe for me ...
ok?-now you come!

You can flash your device using only the flash_all.bat without miui flasher tool. Just boot your phone to Fastboot mode, connect your phone using usb cable to your Computer/Laptop and launch the flash_all.bat and your phone will reboot automatically when the flashing is completed! If you get stuck into the MIUI Boot Logo, go to your recovery and clean the data..
I think it works because I've tried it several times and it works!
Download the official firmware from Here:

Question Hard bricked

Hey (*´∇`)ノ
So I guess my redmi note 10 pro is hard bricked
Condition : Phone won't boot to fastboot or recovery. Phone won't turn on. Phone is on EDL mode by default and reads on 9008 port.
Case : I unlocked the bootloader and flashed custom recovery then loaded a custom rom on an external usb hard drive. I connected the usb to the phone OTG then flashed the custom rom from it through custom recovery. The flash failed for some reason and the phone hard bricked. (Didn't have root)
Solutions I have tried:
1- flashing fastboot rom with latest MiFlash and got edl authorization error.
2- flashing fastboot rom with old MiFlash and got edl authorization error again.
3- searching for Firehose file for the phone and I found none.
4- flashing fastboot rom with latest QFIL and no luck.
Any heads up for your brother and I'll be grateful.

1)Does the phone get to proper fastboot with logo? Or to something else?
2) Edl usually requires authorization
Unbrick Xiaomi using miflash | Authorization EDL flash Xiaomi | Authorized Account
Unbrick Xiaomi using miflash | Authorization EDL flash Xiaomi | Authorized Account DOWNLOAD MODIFIED MIFLASH AND Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 DRIVER The following actions : 1) Connect phone to pc in EDL mode 2) Open Miflash and specify the path to the firmware 3) Click on flash 4) A window...

3) Have you tried asking ROM creator for help?
Try flashing the standard Xiaomi MIUI Full ROM via MiFlash to see if you can boot the phone to System. Then go custom ROM from there.
Good luck.

Well, can see it's claimed but you can never be too sure about it can you? Or did you get that link from a trusted source. Unless it's from a trusted source I wouldn't flash it.

2- So no work around?
3- No I haven't, but. That sounds like a good idea.
