It's possible without brick the phone??

I have flashed from twrp with the tool hurupdater Pie system and I have no way to return to Oreo.
Hisuite does not allow you to do it or through a dload suitcase.
Is there another solution to return?

Boot into twrp recovery and flash stock oreo rom using huru updater.
Download the stock oreo rom from firmware finder.

TWRP wont run on P9

I recently installed twrp eva 3.0.2 on my P9 L19C636 but it wont boot into twrp. It gets stuck on your device is booting now.
Thanls
Not every recovery can run on any firmware. If you are on the newest firmware (N) try the newest TWRP 3.1.0-0.

For stock rom try the newest superuser or if it doesn't work the pre-rooted boot image from this forum. (flashed via fastboot)
For me I had no success with the superuser install for some reason but the boot image worked.

P10 Oreo system update (B365) on L29-C432B360+Magisk v16

Hello, I have a P10 L09C113 rebranded in L29-C432B360 and then rooted with Magisk V16 installed via TWRP 3.2.1-o by Blackball (https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10-plus/development/recovery-twrp-3-2-1-0-oreo-t3734993)
Today I received a notification about a system update to 8.0.0.365 via OTA (about 300 MB) on system settings app.
Is it safe to accept the update?
Or do I have to flash the stock recovery first?
Or do I have to uninstall Magisk before and then to flash stock recovery?
Or ?

Exciting!
I recommend this method as it will ensure it works correctly:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10/how-to/guide-manual-updgrade-to-update-oreo-t3758286
You will indeed need the stock recovery, and this method does it all for you. Simply re-flash TWRP and Magisk after its installed and booted once. Good luck!

at the end I flashed stock recovery and used Firmware Finder App.
In this way I downloaded the firmware from system settings app and updated successfully.
Now I will flash TWRP, but I'm looking for the best one:
@Blackball that cannot decrypt /data or @espaciosalter20 that decrypt /data, but I don't know if is able to flash Magisk

TWRP 3.2.1-0 for P10 v0.1 from Pretoreiano80 works well for 8.0 ROMs (like stock firmware you have flashed.
(Blackball's is useful if you're exploring 8.1 ROMs (such as the available Treble images))

Thank you, but I read on thread:
Some of you have been reporting that mounting /system or another partitions doesn't work. I have discover that you need to decrypt data *before* to mount any other partitions.
I didn't set pin or fingerprint on my P10.
May I use this TWRP to backup and restore partition (system/boot in readonly image) and install Magisk v16?

The worst you can do is try. Seriously, backing up will not damage your system and if you see any errors then try a different TWRP version. You can flash as many of those as you like through fastboot until you find one that works for you!
Backup for sure, but flash magisk?
Could it corrupt system or data?

When I try to to flash twrp I get reroll to mi recovery every single time. All guides I found in the Internet are dedicated to older android versions. Xiaomitool don't help too.
Can someone point me to the right direction? It is time to change rom on my Mi5 finally to give him boost b4 I buy something new.

Your bootloader is unlocked, right?
Then you need reboot to fastboot mode and flash latest official twrp via fastboot.
Like
Code:
fastboot flash recovery <path to twrp.img>
Have you tried it that way?

Bootloader is unlocked.
I did it that way but after twrp is installed I reboot and there is no twrp available. Only mi recovery.
To make it easier...
I would like to:
Flash twrp
Flash magisk and root
Flash firmware (why i need this?) Havoc os asks to flash it but I don't know why.
Flash havock os and gapps
Flash some mods for camera and sound
I don't understeand why twrp can't be flashed and I have no idea what is modified firmware for? Do I need this?
Thanks for your time
Try the the xiaomi eu rom guide .
I think you may need its custom bootloader , not the actual rom.
Than flash the firmware required for your custom rom and reboot directly to recovery again from twrp than rom and gapps , I hope that helps
Hi, i had the same problem, try this:
1. Flash twrp as usual(fastboot flash recovery twrp.img and then fastboot reboot)
2. When rebooting, you have to enter at recovery (vol up + power) . Don't allow phone to boot! In TWRP official page, on installation instructions , they say after installation you must enter in recovery to allow TWRP patch recovery rom, because some Roms after boot reinstall original recovery.
3. Now you should have TWRP installed.
If you do
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
and then do
fastboot boot twrp.img
It's simpler and it will boot to recovery and patch the ROM to be permanently installed.

First,fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
and then no reboot your phone, just to hold the key combo (vol up + power), and then you can enter the twrp mode once because the recovery will be changed when your phone has rebooted.
But you can use the only once twrp mode to install the zip .
If you just want to use MIUI 10, you will flashboot twrp everytime when you need twrp to do something.
PS: Forgive me pool English.

You can root this using canary module magisk. But you will not be able to use the recovery while it is rooted because in pie you do not have ramdisk to patch so we will have to patch recovery_ramdisk using the canary build magisk manager and have to flash the patched recovery_ramdisk to the recovery_ramdisk partition in fastboot, hence we will not have recovery, but magisk root will be available.

Should I replace "oem hwdog" and "oem get-product-model" and "oem get-build-number"
in
Code:
fastboot oem hwdog certify begin;fastboot oem get-product-model;fastboot oem get-build-number
2. Where can I find TWRP for my Honor 9 Lite (= Huawei)
3. Magisk in aptoide is adequate or not ?

Where is this canary version? I flashed magisk but get bootloop from xposed. I just extracted my current recovery ramdisk and patched then flashed but as xposed is causing the loop it doesn't matter what I flash. A fix would be wipe and flash but I can't wipe at the minute. I haven't heard of canary though, do you have more info?

If you have TWRP recovery you can try to flash your current firmware using huawei updater tool without performing any wipe.
Which twrp you used? The one for emui 8.x, the only available twrp for honor 9 lite?

a GSI is a generic system image, i.e. a rom that runs on all project treble capable phones.
that makes it sound easier to than it is. join the group here for more help http://t.me/S20FeModding 5G and 4G snapdragon users are welcome too.

have you rooted the firmware since this post ? on telegram you mentioned being rooted.
you can't flash anything other than official fw or images until vbmeta has been flashed. if you are rooted now then check telegram for the reply there. if you're NOT rooted you'll probably need to flash stock to flash stock recovery back and start again.
vbmeta doesn't flash every time for a few people, me included. rooting by patching the AP archive can be a workaround for that problem. again see telegram reply for more details of what to do after that.
I will restart again
i have now copy the gsi on my phone.
i want to install it now but after i selected install img
i dont have system
i have only:
Boot
Recovery
optics image
Prism image
Super (System,Vendor,Product,Odm )
which one i must select ?
thanks
