Per the forum rules, you may not use XDA to promote your YouTube channel. You may write up a guide here on XDA and post a video to supplement it, but you may not simply tell users to see your video for instructions.

(Apologies for this) Today Screen

Hi all,
MEGA apologies for this....
When I got my xda mini s in August 06 I joined this forum and you guys taught me a load of stuff.
One of the pages I particularly followed was about today screens and various peoples versions of it.
Unfortunately in the last 2 or 3 months my PC has died and I had to rebuild a new one, as a result all my bookmarked pages have been lost.
I HAVE SEARCHED, and can't find it so can someone please post the link to the thread I'm talking about?
Thanks.
Matt.
P.s I've recently seen a fantastic pool game on the wizard with tournament mode etc., I know there must be loads but any ideas on program names?
I'll take that as a NO on both counts then shall I.

[Q] Hello All! Can I have a minute please...

Hello and Good Day to you all...I just got a Galaxy Tab GT-P1000T and instantly became a great fan of Android. I even wrote and article about its very basics. However, I'm absolutely new to Android and would like to know more about it.
At present I'm looking for a simple solution to:
Rooting my Galaxy Tab and installing something better than Froyo (like Gingerbread)
I know this is a Guru's Forum - newbies like me will have some initial stumbling here. I'm somewhat lost in the crowd of threads here. Would somebody tell me the simplest procedure of doing the thing I want to with my GT-P1000T
Thanks and Regards
M.Y.
Just go to the overcome thread and download the guide.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074759
Before you ask any more questions I highly recommend spending some time reading threads as all the questions you could possibly ask have already been asked and answered, like this one has a million times.
PS. This topic is a question and thus should have been created in the dedicated questions forum.
Thanks
Thanks to you The ATHEisT
Yes I should have surfed around and read related posts - but the problem of forum (great ones like this one) is there are so many threads that you get tired soon looking around and not finding what you're looking for exactly.
Anyways, thanks for the link - I already downloaded the pdf guides, and I hope I shall not damage my new Galaxy Tab
Hello,
If you follow the instructions to the letter, you should not damage your tab.
FYI, that the current overcome 2.0 gold still has a few bugs, so if you like things to just work, you might need to wait for a while.
The older overcome 1.6.4 is still using froyo but it is much more polished and not so buggy. but you will be missing gingerbread.
If you have battery problems, just search the general forum for this thread: fake status of battery.
The easiest, without rooting, is the Italian gingerbread flash via Odin, Takes about 5 minutes and there is even a video on youtube going through the whole thing. You can pause it and do exactly as he is doing (he is a member here)
Thanks conchchowder

Nexus 7 Video Tutorials

Hey everyone, I'm newly registered to the forums, but a long time lurker
I just wanted to make a thread to let you guys know that on my YouTube channel, YouTube.com/JStrauD, I do a bunch of Nexus 7 / Android tutorials and reviews. For example, I've done a video tutorial on how to unlock and root the N7 and I've also started a new mini-series of my favorite Custom ROMs that come straight from the XDA forums! I also do iPhone & gaming videos but I'm only making this post to let you know about the Nexus 7 videos
Feel free to check them out and if you want your Nexus 7 ROM reviewed or have any ideas for video tutorials, either leave a comment here or PM me on YouTube! I'm really hoping these videos come to help some people out!
Thanks guys,
JStrauD

Hello there,
Thanks for giving us the ability to request videos. This is more of a suggestion than a request as I know what to do if this should happen to me. Would you make videos for users who softbricked their phones/ ran into a bootloop to allow them to fix their devices? I've seen a fair amount of softbirck/ bootloop questions posted here and maybe this could help the others out.
Thanks again

I was definitely going to make a video about that, the only problem is that I still didn't get into the developing scene with the nexus because im wondering about Google I/O and new android, but anyways I will definitely do it when I run into it. Thanks for your suggestion .
