damn near 4 hours sot!
system stand by time is amazing!
running a fresh install with no hibernation apps what so ever.
ui feels very fluid as well.
camera works fine also.
ill post logs if i encounter any bugs but so far so good.
thanks man!
---edit---
just a minor update posting actual usage results. kernel is stock from rom and im actually impressed.

I try to use back kitkat with this ROM from nougat. I though it is better use android old version again.

Thanks a lot.

Sorry for abit offtopic from a rusty hobby developer, but how does one update security patches on a LineageOS 11 build? Working on a project which dates back to 2017 for security.

CyanogenMod 14.0/14.1 for Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Snapdragon version
Hi all,
This is a initial WIP cyanogenmod 14.1 build based on nougat. Since cm is very much in alpha stage there are bound to be lot of cm related bugs and device related bugs as well. Flash only if you want to.
What works ?
Wifi
Bluetooth
Audio
Camera
RIL
GPS
Fingerprint
Other basic things
What doesn't ?
CM related features or anything that's out of my scope and in CM scope
Goodix fingerprint should not be working ( not tested yet )
Stuff that i might have not noticed
Changelogs :
16/11/2016:
Sync with latest CM source (android_7.1.0_r7 and latest CM stuff)
Note : Cm has added Reliance jio apn by default now to their apn list and there seems to be a small bug related to this. So check your apn properly if data connection isn't working in Jio ( I had to modify APN type to default, supl on my personal usage)
Older Changelogs :
Note : I would recommend a clean flash of 05/11/2016 build as CM has database upgradation issue due to which you might face sim detection issue if dirty flashed
05/11/2016:
Sync with latest CM source.
Night display (accessed via quick tiles) is a addition from my end and is not a default CM feature
30/10/2016:
Initial CM14.1 release (please be noted that cm14.1 features might malfunction / totally nonworking )
Sync with latest CM
( VoLTE continues to work on a dirty flash if you were on my previous build) [ I just wiped cache and dalvik ]
17/10/2016 :
Sync with latest CM (some CM features work now)
Video recording should work fine now ( I recorded a couple of videos and captured few images. All look fine )
Initial blob level ( library support in ROM ) support for new camera sensors ( Kernel might still lack one or two new sensors )
Flac support
Improved device level performance
Other minor improvements
05/10/2016:
Sync with latest CM ( not much feature side, button backlight works nowthough)
VoLTE should now work out of the box. You don't need to flash tonnes of firmware zips ( Make sure you are clean flashing )
Camera fixes (Photo capture will work perfectly fine and won't crash anymore. Video recording is not still fully functional/functional totally)
Slightly improved performance and battery stability
Other misc changes
21/09/2016:
Sync with latest CM
Fixed the lags (device is smooth and normal now)
CM side issues such as external sd permission fixed ( fixed from cm side)
18/09/2016:
VoLTE support
Initial goodix support ( not tested yet and might be broken most likely. If u are going to test goodix flash my latest cm13 build and then come over to this rom )
Battery % bug fix ( -2%,50% thingy) [ I couldn't test because i have a older hardware]
Sync with latest CM
Minor improvements
13/09/2016 :
Sync with latest CM
Camera (photo capture) for other sensors
Night mode ( Access it from systemui tuner)
Should fix some performance issues ( make sure to switch to interactive after first boot)
other minor device level cleanups

Latest build (16/11/2016)
Requirements to flash :

What method did you use to build? Cherry pick or the provided manifest? I had problems with the latter when I tried.
Edit: I see you manually merged them. Good job.

Yes, I tried with the merge_script, but it failed because the outdated LineageSubstratrum repos, so I merged it manually. It was easier than fixing the merge_script somehow, and now it's perfectly fits to my build script.

By the way anyone using this ROM now or just me? I keep updating this, I just wrote a little patcher script for the easier and more automated ROM building. (Later I'll migrate to a LineageOMS + microG ROM, if anyone want I can share that too, but with the right resources it is very easy to build it for yourself.)
Thanks @iamnotstanley, this rom is pretty good, used it for almost 1 month and still no problem so far :3
Btw, i just saw some OTA update notifications, should i update it? Won't it wipe my personal data ? (tho i do backup before, but.... restore them is really painful =_= )

Thanks for the feedback!
I release a new build every week (you can look at the LOS14.1 technical changelog here). I recommend to make a full nandroid backup with TWRP and update the rom. It won't wipe your personal data, it's like any other OTA update, it'll only wipe your system partition, so if you have Magisk or any other mod you'll need to flash it again.

Thanks for the report. Well, I'm always upload the builds to my OTA server as soon as I built them.
I tested the updater on my device, and the response is a bit slow (mainly because the OTA server software that I'm using), but working, and the download speed is fine for me.
If it happens again, wait a few minutes and try again or download it from sourceforge.
EDIT: I think I solved this response lag issue. Now the OTA update check is much faster for me than before.
Yes. Everything works fine and download very fast. Great job.
:good:
Just uploaded the new weekly build. You'll need to update the firmware to version 8.1.4 or newer before updating to this build. You can download it from fjtrujy/capricornCNFirmware repo.
Also sorry for the OTA server downtime, I had issues with my domain service, but I already fixed it.
I'll update my RR build tomorrow, sorry for the late updates, I don't really have time this week.
By the way, I started using Telegram again, if anyone wants to send me a message about anything, you can do it there.

I think it's very good. There isn't much change in the code so nearly same in the official LOS14.1. I can achieve 5-7 hrs of sot with the stock kernel and day-to-day usage.

This thread is abandoned.
Work is continued here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/go...t-roms-hammerhead-oreo-roms-01-09-18-t3733094

Xaif seems to be too busy to maintain his list, so I'm starting one here. I'll try to keep this updated with bugs and features so the best rom will emerge.
ALL ROMS:
Volume rocker wake - Highly requested due to the Nexus 5's failing power button. Most roms don't have this feature. Only Liquid Remix seems to have it.
Bluetooth calling audio bug - all oreo roms contain this bug

I thought maybe 8.5 was a typo. Not sure why it jumped from 8.0 to 8.5.
I'll add git repos if you have the links.

I don't sadly :/ I asked because I wanted to build one of them.
I must admit: the acip 13.1 is outstanding!!!! It has a LOT of customization possibilities. Thank you Soo much !!
Anyone knows how to root acip on a secondary? (MultiRom)
Tried magisk 15.1 - installed without errors - no root
Then tried superSU Systemmode - bootloop
Thanks in advance
Blade
EDIT: Nevermind xD
I linked some git repos. I've never built android, so I don't know what's entailed.
Also added Bliss rom
You don't need to create new thread with same name and everything. You would have just created a new post on that thread.
Bliss 10.0 Beta is highly buggy. Use AICP for now if you want a hands on 8.1.
I have terrible battery life with AICP 8.1. 1:30 screen time and the battery is at 15%. Anyone else with that problem?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Crapatalk
Ambient display not working on AICP 13.1's latest build.
Having used AICP 13.1 I can say the battery life was terrible and there were some times when the UI felt like lagging. I suggest Liquid Remix 8.5 28/12/2017 out of them all. Good battery life for an Android 8 ROM plus it has lots of tweakings to do in the kernel and it doesn't feel as laggy.
aicp
security lock cannot work
is it normal that none of the oreo roms provide hardware acceleration on videos? they're always very pixelated. ive tried liquid rom aicp etc.
I'm facing an issue with Bliss 10.0 where either Setup Wizard and SystemUI keep crashing after booting into the OS. This occurs on a clean flash (with all partitions wiped). I'll try the latest AICP 13.1 build and report back.
Edit: This seems to be an issue with Gapps. I installed AICP without flashing Gapps.
Edit 2: Reinstalling Google Play Services from APKMirror fixed all issues with Gapps. Everything works perfectly.
Edit 3: Sound seems to be mysteriously broken! There is no audio from the speaker. I'm investigating the issue, and will report back.
Edit 4: Formatting /system and reflashing the ROM brought the audio back. I'm investigating what caused this to occur.

It's a similar thread but different. And to be the most useful and visible, I decided it should have its own thread. I mean no disrespect.
Recent activity lock is not working for me on LR 8.5.
Also is there any way to change font? Anyone tried it on LR 8.5?

Yes.
I'll post a project roadmap and a kind of "support policy" in a couple of days to set expectations. Basically, all comes to "if you made any modifications - it's your decision and you can't expect any help". It's pretty... spartan-stylish, but after all we're focused on walking the walk, not talking the talk.
@karevn Thanx for your work on this Xiaomi forsaken phone, as well as all the other devs! I'm using the rom since about a week, very stable so far.The only problem i have with latest build is some "click" sounds when i'm talking on whatsapp on wifi, didn't test it with data or any other app till now.If anyone else having this problem i'll try getting a logcat, else i'll try a clean install first.
A small request, since it's unofficial, can we have a network monitor on the status bar? It's very useful in general.
And a question, is 2.2 ghz the maximum we can squeeze from this cpu?Can we reach 2.4-2.5 even at the cost of increased power consumption?I'll be happy to help in this direction since i have some experience.

The main goal of this project is to provide a stable usable rom with smooth performance. So, I'll never integrate any bells, whistles or serious overclocking/undervolting. Snapdragon 625 is good as it is - fast and power-efficient with careful configuration.
On the WhatsApp thing - check if the is WhatsApp-specific or system-wide. If it's system-wide - post an issue at my github tracker.
Using your Rom for months now,
No major issues,
Happy you are here. :good::good:

Flash audio fix kernel. Thanks goes to @karevn
Karevn (and Razziell, and Anomalchik and others) THANKS ALOT for all your efforts!
I'm using your ROM since November if i remember correctly, and it is fantastic!
I'm even reading 4pda thread (translated by google) just to check your messages, updates and whatsoever!
This rom is fantastic, but i have to tune a bit because on MY Redmi (not on others, since i did not read anyting related in xda nor 4pda) i have spontaneous reboot.
I'm mitigating them using "interactive" CPU so i get about 1 reboot a day "only" (i even tryed to use only 3g or 4g). With impulse i have many reboots
With Voodoo Kernel i have no reboots. It seems some tweaks you did, don't work very well with just my own device
However with one of your rom/kernel it was all perfect (it was the one you gave us just without hotplug, about 2 months ago).
I know you are asking for logs, but it is just my device who has such problems, so i will not ask you to check just for me
Keep up the GREAT work and thanks alot!

[ROM][UNOFFICIAL][14.1] Lineage OS 14.1 by karevn, razziell and anomalchik. Nosgoth V3+ kernel
Introduction
We were building this ROM for last 4 months and published it on 4pda.ru since Razziell refused to release his RR build here. Most of the work on this ROM is an unique product of @Razziell, @Anomalchik and @karevn efforts. To this moment, this build is most-popular and top-rated build on 4pda. I hope you'll enjoy it.

Any of you need any translations or proofreading, just in case? I'm a frequent visitor on xda and an occasional visitor of 4pda and fluent in both languages. Would be glad to help.
Using this ROM right now, extremely stable, battery life is probably the best I've seen on markw - 12 hours later I still have over 50% and that's with a lot of usage including videos and music, OTAs actually work (are they pulled from the google drive? I'm just curious how someone managed to make it work on an UNofficial ROM, it's amazing) albeit only on the next day after the installation, only had one app crash a few times and I probably know the cause. Very smooth, LED works fine, no longer randomly reboots on low 2G signal or at all. No bloat or random apps I just don't use that other ROM devs force in there (some launcher - I either use the google one or Trebuchet, Substratum - I don't even use it at all, I much prefer the stock look, Xposed - If I really want/need it I'll rather install it myself). Generally very pleased to actually get rid of MIUI AND also have a fully functioning device running a ROM that doesn't need 10 fixes and a kernel flashed afterwards.
Thanks a lot for the efforts.
Big thanks for this Rom is the best what i have use! But i have onley one Problem. The LED dont works for any App. But wen i Charge my Phone IT works. I have Do a clean wipe install. Is there anywhat wat i can Do?

I will look in to it. What Bluetooth thing did you try to connect to?
the short characters is new .... hahaha, it has been when selecting the English language or when recovering the nandroid without wipe.
I will do a format before trying again.
I know it was not necessary but, install clean, all wipes and the result is the same.
the bluetooth switch is dark, I have limited the permissions of the application and the result is the same as all the permits granted or denied.
I have recovered the boot.img of lineageos 14.1 and I have flashed it on AEX, the result is a nice animation of endless AEX.
Personally AEX is the rom development that I have used in all my devices for its smoothness and custom settings.
Do not stop trying, Suzuran is a great device that is being forgotten by all developers. I'm waiting for Mokee to work on 8.1 for Z5 compact, but I have no hope that it will happen.

Why did you flash the lineage 14.1 boot.img? my AEX build is based on that one.
I'm trying to fix the Bluetooth issue right now. Is there any more errors?

My fault. I suggested that.
I thought it was worth a try.
I just dropped the z5 compact ... I know you do not care, but I say goodbye to the forum is the third z3-z5 that bursts the screen with a slight fall.

Lineage is often better than stock ROM in performance. But I can't live without bluetooth. Gonna wait for the next build, then...
Does it have voltage control? Snap 810 needs it.
What about temps?
Thanks for your work, with proper development the Z5c can live well. Better then most new low/mid devices.

The ROM is based on Lineage OS kernel and it keeps the phone in the same temperature as if you would use lineage(much cooler then stock).

Thx, me my self I own a OnePlus 6. But sometimes I miss my Z5C(I use it as a backup phone). It's a really good phone. And it's really hard to find something that good in that form factor.
I don't know when Bluetooth would be fixed beacuse I don't know how to fix it.

That's great, Snap 810 were really bad with temps. Unfotunately I use BT daily with speaker and car stereo. Then I'm gonna wait.
I have a Mi 5s with broken screen, so bought the Z5 Compact. Once a fix my Xaomi gonna keep the Z5c as backup and play around.
Whoe!!! OP6 from a Z5c is a great upgrade in hardware and size. I can't have big phones, doesn't work for me. The limit is 150x70 mm, always try bigger ones from friends with no success.

Have you considered a XZ1 Compact or XZ2 Compact at the time you bought the OP6? I like both of them...

Back then when I bought my OP6 did I not think about the Sony phones. Somehow did they go under my radar. So I did not do much research about the Sony phones. But I think they are pretty good, I hear alot of good reviews.
But actually do I not see so much difference in the OP6 and Z5C performance. I know that the OP6 is much faster on paper. But in regular use googling, watching yt, scrolling through apps and even light gaming are there almost no difference. The only downsides I can see is the ram and battery life (and Android version, I really would like to have 9.0 on it but I know that it's hard to build).

I hear you, Sony phones have gone under the radar for many people. It's hard to get back on the radar, now with new devices in 2019 it seems Sony is gonna make it and I really hope so. Xperia 1 is very beautiful. Pity it does not have a Compact device of it's own...
Here in Brazil Sony phones are hard to find, pretty expensive with no discounts. Hard to buy in these conditions.
