How to - unlock bootloader and which recovery should I use?

Hey,
My girlfriend owns Redmi 4A and I need to change system from a crappy chineese miui to Oreo rom. How do I unblock bootloader? I have read that you need xiaomi permission to unblock. How it can be done?
Next, which TWRP version should I use? I read that official have some issues with vendors and there are unofficial ones floating on XDA. Could you share a link?
Thank you

TWRP

Hi, i have unlocked the bootloader on the Nokia 4.2 but TWRP isnt available for Nokia 4.2 yet, does anybody know if somebody is working on TWRP for Nokia 4.2?
I don't think TWRP for N42 will be released soon, but I could release Magisk root guide.

Flashing official China rom on the Z5 Pro GT?

Hi All,
Since this thing is available so cheap, I'm considering buying one.
But I do wonder if it is possible to get rid of the crappy 'Global' rom, by flashing an official China rom and install Play store.
The official China rom has OTA-updates and a complete English language option right?
Se unbrick guide by SrCDA
Hi There.
SrCDA guides are your friend.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=9792389
The unbrick guide is your way to do it, or if you have an 'unmodified' global rom, then the TWRP instalation guide is your way to get TWRP on the phone, and the roms are linked in the unbrick guide.

Is it the same flashing procedure for z5 pro no-GT and z5 pro GT ?
Probably late... However. I got the phone. Flashed the can firmware and locked the bootloader. Perfect. Even a certified device

The 'unmodified' was in parentheses, because there is no such thing, the global rom is a modified and unofficial rom from chinese sellers. So if you rom is a multilanguage ZUI (more then chinese and english) then its a modified version. So if you have a global rom you can use that method.

[HELP] Upgrading from Resurrection Remix - Nougat to Android Oreo, 9 or 10.

I'm using Huawei P8 Lite 2017, with Resurrection Remix Custom Rom by Haky86, on Android Nougat.
I was hesitant to upgrade before (2017) because at that time, many phones were bricked trying to upgrade to Oreo.
There were also some Vendor complications (China & Europe) for custom roms in Oreo.
I remember there were Partitions A & B? I didn't know what were those about.
I also still remember a warning to not use the most up to date version of our Stock Oreo Rom for our phone when trying to install the default stock rom for treble support.
I still have my bootloader unlock code, bootloader is unlocked, rooted, I've also watched a YouTube video how to upgrade using TWRP.
All I need now is some assistance with what not to do, some links to point me in the right direction, some info with what I've missed during these years like is TWRP still the main recovery? Or something I should take note of.
Up? Anybody?
Re-up. I really just need some opinions, feedbacks or experiences really. Someone to chat with would be nice in this thread.

This one? HuRUpdater 0.4: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/tool-hurupdater-0-4-flash-official-firmware-in-recovery.3769279/
Is it easier and verified to be safer (no bootloop/bricked device), than the second guide below?
Do I have to rebrand first my oeminfo to "AL00C/AL00X/TL10C B220"?
I was gonna follow this guide: https://www.xda-developers.com/huaw...e-android-oreo-update-project-treble-support/

Wait, nevermind. I remember that it was only necessary since those versions were the only ones with Oreo updates before.
But now, PRA-LX2 has an Oreo update already, so it's not necessary to rebrand
Thanks, now I feel brave to upgrade.
I'll follow this guide by Fr0nK: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/guide-emui8-and-treble-rom-on-p8-lite-2017.3773216/

yeah, that's the correct topic. I cannot guarantee any tool, use at your own risk.
I use it on pra-la1 and can confirm that workers. use suitable twrp and read the instructions.

Question STILL NO CUSTOM ROM FOR OUR BELOVED REALME 8

Do any of you guys know any custom ROM for this device ?
TWRP is available, so you can root your device and optimise it, but I dont think there'll be a custom rom for your device, mainly because it has an mtk chipset.
Yes
Wish there's one
gsi images is a great way to customize our phone.the problem is the dynamic partition.we must find a way ,to flash a gsi image in the dynamic partition.
i think we can start the fastboot mode over the twrp recovery.i dont no ,how usefull this is to flash a rom.can anybody with more practice test it. iam not sure if i can flash the system.img easily to the system partition.
Custom roms will be available after when realme release official bootloader unlock tool (deepest.apk) because unlocking via mtkclient corrupts dm-verity and fastboot mode.
Thanks Tony for the information
Thanks Tony
Hi together,

Looking forward to your professional experience!
Best wishes

Hi together,
that's what Realme answered:
"

Greetings from realme!
Thank you for writing to us.
We would like to inform you that we are constantly working to improve our user's experience through regular updates based on our receiving suggestions and feedback. We do not provide support for bootloader for EU region
Please note, if you root your device / unlock the bootloader or add any custom ROM to your device and later wish to flash back your device to official version, you may visit service center to get the services within warranty. However, if in case, official version doesn't get installed due to any software or hardware issues, services at service center will be considered as out of warranty.
Warm Regards,
Team realme Europe"
Seems there will be no official bootloader unlock in the future
Sad to hear it !
Guys please don't root your smartphone and don't unlock the bootloader , no need as there will be no custom rom for this device

I asked again but it seems bootloader unlock for Realme 7 is also not supported but there are several custom Rom available…
Here Realme‘s answer:
„Further, on the basis of your concern we are not unlocking the bootloader of any of realme devices (including realme 8) till further update“

If bootloader for Realme 7 isn't supported than how can so much custom rom for that device be developed??
i mean, you guys could just try using KingoROOT to 1 click root your device and then remove bloat/optimise the installed stock rom
