How did you flash it?
Give me more informations, decryption works? (are you able to see files in internal storage?) Vibration work? Are you able to flash magisk or others zips? You see some problems in the recovery.log? Some red write?

is the zenfone 6 an a/b slot device like the zenfone 5z? Do you have to set the slot with fastboot before flashing?

it seems to be an A/B device yes.
Fastboot reveals the following:
Code:
(bootloader) has-slot:system:yes
(bootloader) current-slot:a
(bootloader) has-slot:boot:yes

Most if not all new high-end phones are A/B phones now. Normally you don't have to specify the slot as it will just flash to the currently used one.

tried, can't get it to work. when I do the fastboot boot .img command, the phone reboots, showing the whole "bootloader is unlocked, press power to pause" screen, and then it goes back into fastboot, except now the device is frozen (it also vibrates after a few seconds, but nothing else, buttons don't do anything), and I have to use the reboot command to get back to where I started.
I did let the phone update when I got it the other day, not sure if that affects anything.

same here. I also updated the phone today before unlocking the bootloader, so probably twrp must be updated with new firmware

I am asking this because on the 5z you needed to switch to the inactive one and flash or it would no longer start.

Hi, i have not the device and Teamwin Founder User (Dees Troy and Bigbiff) got the zenfone 6 from the developer programm, i think i will not update the twrp for now

and you have some advice to me to manage to install your twrp on my zenfone 6??? even with the new system update of asus

I can confirm it does not boot after the latest firmware-updates. If I used fastboot boot "recovery", I got the same result as @Tannuu had.
Is there already a TWRP-Version from @Dees_Troy or @bigbiff ? If you are working on it, it would be very nice, to let us know about the current status.
Thanks for your work.

Hello,
I flashed with this recovery and it works well. Btw I tried to root the device (by using provided SuperSu, I flashed it and installed supersu app) but it didn't succeed. The supersu app says it need to update su binary and when continue, the app freezes. Previously I used revolution recovery rc2 with elite kernel v4. Any solution?
Thank you.
P.s.: My device is VNS-L31C636 and I'm using Android 7.0 with EMUI 5.0

Android 10 TWRP flashing guide without fastboot boot (Much more articulated but perfectly functional):
Please use only magisk 19.4 on Android 10 or the TWRP will not be installed, more details on this post
1. Follow this guide to root your device: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6/how-to/patched-boot-image-magisk-16-7-beta-t3818853
2. Flash the TWRP installer like a magisk module
3. Flashing the TWRP installer you will lose the root, so you will need to flash magisk again from magisk manager before reboot the device or you can reboot the device and flash magisk in twrp
Old Install guide:
1. Install fastboot tools from google's sdk on your PC
2. Enter fastboot mode
3. Unlock your bootloader
4. Run "fastboot boot recoveryimgfilename.img" in command line (if you want to have it permanently you should flash the installer)
5. If you will flash the installer and you are stock you need also to flash magisk or your phone will not boot again
6. Enjoy it
Download:
So little update, after some tests i'm sure there is a compatibility problem between twrp and magisk, i was able to get only one of them, so actually i don't know how to proceed, i need to understand if it is a twrp problem or a magisk problem, TWRP is in stand-by for now.
There are not problems on Android Pie, if you need of the twrp on android Q just flash in boot partition the Q .img (fastboot flash boot twrp.img) and then reboot from fastboot in recovery. Before publishing the twrp I had not tested magisk and twrp together.
On Android 10 use only magisk 19.4

The official one doesn't support android pie, this supports android pie. This is similar to the blue spark, i removed also twrp app pop up.
Thx, I'll give it a try.
In Blu I always get crash dump modus when I make backup.

I've not tested backup, but it should work. If not You can try to exclude cache partition.
Looks good. The only thing I miss is vibrations In twrp. The rest looks awesome. [emoji1360]

@mauronofrio When it says fully themeable, that means tjeme options are inbuilt in twrp or using third party zip like G.M.L?

inbuilt twrp
Decided to do an ultra clean start with 9.0.2 and went with this twrp. I just wanted to say that everything worked as expected. Nice and clean. It's unfortunate that official trwp is so far behind, but grateful for the unofficial versions that have filled the gaps.
On 9.0.2, after a clean install, I flashed .img, than magisk, than the .zip.
Choose any kind of reboot (system etc) the phone reboot solely to recovery.
I had to install a different twrp to solve this.
(Backup is okay, but restore maybe not. After restore and reboot only the bl was ready.)

How did you flash magisk? I mean first you gotta unlock bootloader. Did you successfully use in-depth test.
will try it soon..
On screen shot its lineage os.. ?
How to unlock the bootloader on Realme 5 Pro?
I mean there's no any tutorial to unlock it yet.. I found some tutorials on google but it doesn't look trusted..
Mustn't we unlock it first then eventually can install twrp ?

Instructions :
Backup all before flash!!
Check if you have unlocked bootloader and updated firmware if not download and flash it with twrp and reboot recovery before start flash
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1FfYb6hWviggupkQRBNfE-ah85MSl-1aB
First of all you need to flash or boot @Giovix92 TWRP (I recommend)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a1/development/recovery-twrp-3-3-1-0-tissot-manager-t3976117
or official twrp
Boot into twrp and factory reset
Flash the rom zip
Flash twrp installer (skip if you use twrp survive option)
Reboot recovery
Flash opengapps nano or pico
If you want to root, flash Magisk
Reboot to System.
Upgrading from earlier version of crDroid:
The only difference between clean flash as above and upgrading is you just wipe system & cache, leaving data. Everything else is the same. ***Remember to always clean flash before reporting problems. Clean flashing is always the best method of ROM install.
KNOWN ISSUES :
You tell me
Some QS theme maybe have color problem but default QS works. Source bug,I can't fix for now
A very special thanks to @Giovix92 and my telegram friends https://t.me/XiaomiMiA1Italia and who tested this rom.

Yes but for now I wait stable public trees for us,for now I keep android 9 updated and I try to build 6.0 soon!
until the situation of android 10 remains "beta" I will stay on android 9 for stability.
android 10 is a great working in progress, right now I don't feel the need to go to 10 but I'll work on it willingly! The development of tissot needs people who keep it alive!
Awesome, unless q stabalises pie will do dont rush for q, btw why not take official maintainership, its abandoned afaik.

You're right but I'm learning. I only claim to continue building this rom for my only smartphone because I want to keep an updated rom 9.0. For now the tag isn't essential for me but I'll see what I can do!
Any particular opengapps recomended? I've found some trouble installing latest opengapps builds in LOS 16. Latest opengapps is working fine in crDRoid?

Tried to do everything by the book:
Was running the previous cdroid version.
BAckuped everything.
Wipe clean (not the Data)
Flashed the new one with twrp
After that I could not load the twrp recovery anymore and it kept loading the lineage recovery tool which I have not seen before.
I ADB flashed the twrp but not on recovery partition. Recovery was not found and therefore I flashed it on boot(the command that worked: fastboot flash boot twrp.img) But then I could not flash any Gapps . It gave me a message that a partition was missing or something.
What seemed to work but not quite:
Wiped everything with the lineage recovery tool
AdB sideload the new rom
After no success on any Gapps package with this method, I tried the MindtheGapps and it sort -of - works: I got google but cannot restore my google data

You shouldnt flash img from fastboot only boot that, fastboot boot twrp then flash installer.zip file of twrp from the hotbooted twrp, then do reboot to recovery.

Sorry I don't get what you are saying. I did this:
Open the folder where your TWRP Recovery .img file is saved.
Then open a CMD window inside that folder. To do that, Shift + Right click on any empty white space inside the folder and then select Open command window here.
Connect your Android device to the PC. Type the following into the command window to boot your device into bootloader/fastboot mode:
adb reboot bootloader
└ If your asks for permission to “Allow USB debugging”, tap OK.
Once your device boots into bootloader mode, type this into the command line.
fastboot flash recovery twrp-2.8.x.x-xxx.img
└ Here modify twrp.img with the name of your TWRP recovery .img file.
Once TWRP is successfully flashed on your device, type this final command to reboot your device.
fastboot reboot

BIG thx for this TWRP, BUT ... seems like i did something wrong: today I got the unlock.img from lenovo, unlocked ok. I rebooted bootloader, came over here and installed vbmeta and your TWRP, without any errors. Then tried to reboot TWRP manually and suddenly there's this startup warning about "unsafe", then a Lenovo sign comes up for a few seconds, followed by another Lenovo in a red field...and thats it, nothing boots up, tried several times. I can still enter fastboot or your TWRP, but TWRP has no ADB-communication so no sideload...and still no possibility to boot. Any ideas to get the system working? Thx...

I can still enter fastboot or your TWRP, but TWRP has no ADB-communication so no sideload...and still no possibility to boot. Any ideas to get the system working? Thx...

Why you mounted the partitions? Don't do that, just reboot in twrp and flash magisk

Thought to mount partitions would be ok...but grazie MILLE: just flashed without mounts and it worked. Now I'm waiting on it finishing boot, for 15 minutes now
Just wanted to say thank you for this thread and release !
Very helpful and deserves an 'up'.
