Overwrite TWRP after restart to system on 10.3.5.0 update (SOLVED) - Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi all this helped me, when update version 10.3.5.0 and TWRP was deleted to stock MIUI recovery after the reboot to the system despite reinstalling it by fastboot.
I do not know if it's in the right place but I put it to help others with the same problem.
Below are my exact steps, if that helps someone.
Preliminary:
Download Magisk 19.3 TO INTERNAL memory OR SD CARD
1- In Fastboot:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
fastboot reboot and press vol+ to enter in recovery twrp
2- Disconnect the cable.
3- Install Magisk.
4-Reboot System. You're done! Launch MagiskManager. Device is rooted in the process, too. (Verify with a root checker app).
Power Off. Hit Power + volume Up - You should boot to TWRP.

Flashing everything

I have made a map with ADB and fastboot pre-installed with tools for flashing: recovery, system(not tested), boot. Also i have the tool to delete: system, cache and data for flashing CM or other ROMs. Also it has the tools to reboot in recovery and bootloader. I used almost every tool on my own HTC desire C, but im not responsible for any problems. I can help you if you get stuck but if your device gets bricked than its not my fault. Here is a guide how to flash CM and CWM + downloads:
How to install CWM:
1. Turn on USB Debugging (USB-foutopsporing voor nederlanders) under the developers settings (instellingen voor ontwikkelaars voor nederlanders)
2. download the recovery.img
3. put it in the folder of my tools
4. quick booting must be off (snel opstarten voor nederlanders, im from holland and i don't know what the name of that setting is) then power off your phone
5. hold down volume down button and then power button for several seconds
6. then click on fastboot > reboot bootloader >again fastboot and connect your phone to pc
7. double-click flash recovery and done!
8. there are several ways to boot into recovery but i use the volume down+power button and then recovery
IMPORTANT: Your phone must be rooted and bootloader unlocked.
How to flash CM 10.0 android 4.1.2 or other CM software
1. Download the update.zip
2. open it and copy the boot.img but don't delete it and put the copied boot.img in the folder of my tools
3. place the boot.img on the SD-Card of your phone
4. boot into recovery and install the update.zip
5. don't reboot it, get the battery out of the phone and put it back.
6. hold down volume down+power button
7. choose fastboot > reboot bootloader > and again fastboot
8. now connect your device to your PC
9. double-click flash boot and done!

Root for stock nougat?

I was wondering if we have root for nougat? How do i root my device? Thanks!
http://forum.turkdevs.com/konu-general-mobile-4g-android-7-0-nougat-root-yapma.html check topic.
the forum is in turkish, can you please share how in english here? Thanks
To get root I flashed SuperSu which can be flashed via TWRP recovery only. There are 2 kinds of SuperSu: Systemless (installed as a normal apk in data folder) and System SuperSu (installed in system/app folder). Check this thread if you understan russian.
Otherwise just do the following steps:
1. Install ADB and Fastboot drivers
2. Enable "Android debugging" in developer options
download TWRP recovery
3. Open the commandpromt window and install TWRP using the following commands:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot devices (just to check the phone status)
fastboot oem unlock-go (all you data will be gone, so make a backup in advance)
fastboot0 erase recovery
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (where recovery.img is TWRP file name)
4. Unplug the phone and remove battery. Place it back, press "Volume Up" и "Power" buttons.
5. Flash the desired SuperSu via TWRP.

TWRP 3.0.2 for Acer Predator 8 ported by Ruben.

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT ROOTING:
After flashing TWRP 3.0.2, use the SuperSU 2.46 flashable zip, do NOT use latest version or will result in a bootloop. Good Luck and have fun with rooting.
REQUIREMENTS
1- Unlocked Bootloader (search on google if you dont know how to unlock)
2- Drivers and Adb/Fastboot commands knowledge
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
New TWRP bugfix update! Now you can flash stock rom on TWRP without bricking! Download Page updated!
Bugs:
1- adb shell command needs to be sent before system partition is mounted or it will give an error, after doing adb shell you can mount system and do all the modifications you need.
2- You cant flash any img on twrp it gives an error, im trying to fix.
3- Backups do work, but everytime twrp restarts, the serial number folder seems to change (which means that on /TWRP/BACKUPS/serialnumber/backupsinside/ changes every reboot so you have to go get the backup inside the old serialnumber folder and put on the new serialnumber folder).
Im leaving an unsecured boot image because system does not boot android if anything seems changed. So please if system does not boot after flashing twrp/rooting, flash the unsecured boot img on fastboot
Steps to Install TWRP and root
1. Download and extrct the files: https : // drive. google . com/file/d/0BxzG5iupOOSKNTdlRC1Wd0VmTlk/view
2. Power off the tablet.
3. Enter fastboot mode by pressing the power button while holding down Vol -
4. Open up command prompt and navigate to the directory where fastboot.exe is located.
5. Pass the following commands:
fastboot flash boot unsecuredboot.img
fastboot flash recovery TWRP.img
6. Reboot into recovery (TWRP) and install SuperSU v2.46.zip ---
Continuation 6. Step by Step of Step 6 since people seem to have been running into issues with it:
After rebooting to TWRP and having SuperSU.zip in the tablet storage. Go on Install tab and press the supersu file and install/flash it then reboot the device.

[SOLVED] Phone Stuck on fastboot

Hi,
I installed mi Globe successfully on my Xiaomi Mi8 SE. Got going using my phone with no problem for almost a month.
BUT.........
I had never restarted the phone since ROM installation, today I restarted and now it goes straight to fastboot (without holding vol-)
Please someone help me!
It would be preferable not have to format my phone.
==SOLVED==
What I did:
1) Boot on TWRP
-fastboot flash recovery TWRP-1227.img
-fastboot boot TWRP-1227.img
-reboot recovery (power + vol up)
2) Sing TWRP (i guess this is optional?)
-Advanced -> sing boot
3) Do not reboot after install
-Go to setting and uncheck "Reboot after installation is complete"
4) Install same image used when you installed the system
-Click on install and select the zip the system image (don't use the "install image" button)
5) From main menu press Reboot->System

[GUIDE][REDMI 7A] Root with Magisk on Miui 11.0.7 Global

Well, a lot of people wanting to root global miui 11.0.7 and not being able to... So I did it on my Global redmi 7a - MIUI 11.0.7 Global.
Simple though. Apart from whats being said, u can update Magisk to v20.+ after flashing
the 19 version, through the app Magisk Manager automatically installed after flashing.
Prerequisites & Downloads:
- Your bootloader must be unlocked (https://en.miui.com/unlock/)
- ADB and Fastboot -> I did on windows version, maybe can be done on linux...
- patched boot.img for miui 11.0.7 global
- vbmeta.img
- Magisk v19.3 zip -> place it on the root of your external sdcard
This is basically copied from cg730620's post [Guide][Redmi 7A] TWRP, Root with Magisk, Custom ROM [GSI][Pie] and Avedroid's vid
1 - Unlock bootloader and flash stock miui 11.0.7 recovery rom, using miflash 2017
CAREFUL! On the lower right corner check the first option, "clean all", or you may end up with a locked bootloader.
-> exactly the same from the quoted post from now on, what differs is the files and we are only flashing magisk v19.3
"2. Install Minimal ADB and Fastboot
3. Rename patched boot file to boot.img
4. Rename custom recovery file to recovery.img
5. Place boot.img, recovery.img, vbmeta.img in Program Files (x86)/Minimal ADB and Fastboot/ folder
6. Turn off your phone.
7. Reboot phone to fastboot mode by holding Volume-down button while pressing On/Off-button. You know you are in fastboot mode when you see a cartoon bunny.
8. Connect the phone to your PC via USB.
9. On your PC open command prompt and nagivate to ADB folder, or open command prompt window directly from right-click menu in ADB folder; just right-click on empty space and choose 'Open command prompt here'
10. In command prompt, enter the following commands:
Code:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Code:
Code:
fastboot flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
Code:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
11. Now reboot to recovery: Press Volume-Up button on your phone and enter the following in command prompt:
or just turn off the phone and reboot by holding Volume-Up and On/Off button (release On/Off when phone turns on, keep holding Volume-Up until you see screen of TWRP recovery)
12. Swipe to allow modifications. If TWRP asks for PIN, enter the PIN code you set for your unlock screen.
13. In TWRP choose Wipe > Advanced Wipe. Select 'Dalvik / ART cache', 'System', 'Data', 'Cache'. Then Swipe to Wipe.
18. In TWRP choose Install. Select the Magisk zip-file on your phone and then Swipe to confirm flash.
Reboot to system, open Magisk, update and there u go.
Same steps of the beginning of Avedroid's video, only with modified boot.img and Magisk Version
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSs08O6uGVI&t=324s
After 16:30 of the video he flashes a custom gsi rom which is not of the interest of this thread, just flash magisk.
Thanks to all who made it possible, especially Avedroid and cg730620
Post questions and answers here, please, NOT in PM.
Good luck!
Thank's it's work fine on custom gsi too, i just flash patch boot, vbmeta, finally install magisk success
I did everything right, however, when it came to installing Magisk, the following error occurred: "Updater process ended with ERROR: 1".
So I redid the whole process, but before installing Magisk I did the following: I went to Mount, I deselected the System partition and after that the installation proceeded normally.
Well, I don’t know if this is the best way to fix this problem, I don’t understand much of these things, but it ended up working for me.
Thanks for the post
I will do some tests to see if everything is working.

I wish to obtain root / access to magisk,
Wanting to know if I can do this without losing data (having to delete system data)
Thank you
Hello.
So I was trying to root my Redmi 7A - v10.2.1 with TWRP 3.3.1 but now I am stuck in a bootloop.
What I did:
1. Flash boot.img
2. Flash recovery.img
3. Flash vbmeta.img
4. reboot
Phone rebooted to system and TWRP was installed.
Then I booted to TWRP to install Magisk-v23.0.zip,
I went to Advanced Wipe, then wiped 'Dalvik / ART cache', 'System', 'Data', 'Cache'.
When I rebooted, it went into a bootloop, when I go to TWRP it says 'No OS INSTALLED".
What did I do wrong? And how to recover?
Thanks.
