help installing twrp - Redmi K20 Pro / Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro Questions & Answe

hi i'm having problems, for some reason my phone isn't recognised in cmd. it shows up normally under my computer and can transfer files but i can't flash twrp to it (yes the bootloader is unlocked). when i type ''adb devices'' it never shows. not sure what to do here i'm stuck.

Usb debugging enabled?

Looks like ADB doesn't recognize your device. Meaning there is no driver as to where the computer can communicate with your phone. You first have to install adb drivers to get it to work the way it should.
Try this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979

okay mad, you're my man <3
you sent me on the right path, if you or anyone want to know what was wrong i'll explain it here
adb driver wasn't properly installed i had to manually install it on the device manager. the second issue i had was misc.bin didn't come with any of the downloads so i had to download that from somewhere else then flash it. after that twrp installed successfully. when i flashed the custom rom i wasn't able to reboot the system it would just go back to twrp. after removing the sim it worked then i just put the sim back in, and now everything is working well. thanks for your help

Need help getting my phone working again.

Hi all.
I have CWM Touch installed, but I can't run ADB Sideload to flash a ROM. I just keep getting an error that the device can't be found. I have no OS installed, so my phone won't boot up. I can't access the phone's memory as that doesn't work with the One. I also can't flash a RUU to return to factory settings as I have S-ON and am on HBOOT 1.54.Is there anything I can do to fix this and get my phone back working?
Many thanks.

First try to reinstall you Drives for ADB and HTC so you know it's not a Driver issue. If that doesn't work try using a different PC and see if you still get the same issues.
And also try using HTC One AIO to flash TWRP or something to see if you can Sideload a rom then. Because AIO toolkit uses the fastboot menu to flash Recovery images.
If you can flash a different Recovery then try to flash a rom and see if that works.
If not let me know what the results are

Got it! Thank you. I reinstalled the drivers. Weird though because ADB was working fine before. The drivers must have corrupted or maybe it's a Windows 8 issue. Sideloading the ROM now, will let you know if it is a success.

Okay, do you have any rom(eg. ARHD).zip on your phone? If you do, flash that via twrp, and you're done
If you don't, copy a rom to a USB flash drive and connect it to your phone with an OTG Cable, and flash it via twrp
If you don't have an OTG cable, try this to sideload a rom to your internal sd card http://teamw.in/ADBSideload

Does it list your phone?
If it doesn't, try changing USB ports/cord, and also try uninstalling and then fresh installing new drivers after restarting your pc, then connecting your phone.

ok so fastboot is working, as suggested before post a "fastboot getvar all" (remove IMEI and s/n).
If sideload isn't working you can use "adb push", but first thing is to reflash custom recovery just in case it's corrupted.
so download CWM or TWRP (from the threads in xda), then
fastboot erase cache
fastboot flash recovery <name of recovery>.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
-> enter RECOVERY
then
adb push <name of rom>.zip /sdcard/ (this will take anywhere between 5 to 15minutes and not show progress, eventually it should come back with "success")
then
install zip in recovery, and choose the <name of rom>.zip and install it.

Have you read the first post in the TWRP thread? Did you follow the instructions? Have you tried flashing the update? Did it fail? Was there an error message? Have you installed the latest HTC Sync Manager? Are you running Windows? What version? Are you plugged into USB3 port? Do you have a recent version of fastboot? Are we supposed to guess everything?

I apologize for my post, I've been at this for four days and i'm about ready to toss the phone in the bin.
If you mean the thread about HTC dumlock, yes i tried that and i think i did it right following the instructions, But it didn't work.
And i believe i followed the instructions right and tried flashing the update but it also didn't work.
I have installed the latest HTC Sync Manager , I'm also running Windows 8 but i'm working on a Windows 7 laptop because my Win 8 laptop when i install fastboot and adb and put the phone into bootloader the HTC isn't recognized no matter what i try.I also don't know whether it's a usb 2 or 3 port. I'm looking for the latest version of fastboot now........And the HTC Sync Manager so i can use my Win 8 computer.
Also on Win.7 comp. when i try to put in a cmd eg (adb devices= list of devices.it doesn't list anything) so i assume my htc isn't there.
Put the phone in fastboot mode, you need to run the command on your pc:
fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-<version>.img
Saying "it didn't work" is not useful. Was there an error message?
Use the Win7 laptop.

ok, i was typing it wrong, it seems to be working now.
So the update of TWRP worked fine...... thanks for your help.
Now i'm trying to turn S-OFF. When i do the CMD:
adb devices=
*daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037*
*daemon started successfully*
List of Devices attached
C:\fastboot>
Is the phone booted or in bootloader? Adb won't work if it's in fastboot mode.
Windows 8.1 will only work with newer hboot version, 1.55, I think.

[Q] Updated Firmware and lost root and recovery

I need some help...I updated my firmware and I must of updated with the wrong firmware...did they one with stock recovery or something. Now my phone doesn't have a custom recovery and I do not have root. I tried to download the trwp tool and flash but it says I do not have root. Also when I try to adb connect to my phone it doesn't recognise that the device is there. I am running Insert Coin 4.4.4 version 5.03. Any help is much appreciated! Also I should mention the firmware was from Captain Throwbacks thread with the latest. I am also Soff.
Very strange @Captain_Throwback's firmware should not have stock recovery included.
You can fastboot flash twrp.
ADB = OS/Recovery
Fastboot = Bootloader

Uninstall everything HTC and reboot PC
Install these drivers
Plug phone in (drivers should install)
If not try this:
On your PC go to device manager and find your phone, right click and select properties
Select the driver tab
Select update driver
Select browse my comp
Let me pick
Look for ADB USB device or similar should be one of the first couple choices
Select MyHTC install and you should be good
Thanks that worked...flashed the recovery successful but wont let me go into it. I think its because I am not rooted. Do I just use the all in one tool to get root back?

If it flashed successfully you should be able to get into recovery.
Are you sure you flashed the correct version? There are several for the M8.
I ended up flashing another version and I got into recovery. Root Checker still says I dont have root so I am going to wipe and reflash my rom. Hopefully that will do it. Not sure what happened but I really appreciate the help with getting the drivers corrected so I could communicate with my device again. With out adb I didnt know what I was going to do.

Can I please get some help I think I might of bricked my phone

So using a root app disabler I disabled "telephony service" and when I restarted it shutdown immediately, on the newest WW rom it doesnt have a recovery so I cant go in there and wipe to factory reset. Right now I'm getting slot_b is unbootable. My computer recognizes the phone as "Android Bootloader Interface" but when I run "adb devices" it doesnt show up and I cant run fastboot commands even though I'm plugged into the side usb port. Please help me.

Was the boot img rooted, is that why you have no recovery? If so, just boot to fastboot mode and flash stock boot instead of root, that should have recovery

But you get fastboot mode, just plug the USB in side port and flash latest raw WW Rom.
Here's the link to 1908.21
https://drive.google.com/file/d/13Mgz9GhopE-DUsGT3N_5qC283cKkUxYb/view?usp=drivesdk
Once in fastboot mode (the first menu you see, before selecting recovery, start, power off etc is fastboot mode) check your device is recognised with fastboot devices cmd and then run flashall_AFT.cmd that'll get back your working rom . But also, delete or move the original zip from that same extracted folder, the raw rom with the same name confuses the flashall_AFT.cmd
So I flash the most recent firmware you linked and double checked in recovery that it was pushed to the device and it was, but when I try to boot into android I get the asus logo for a second and then it restarts and it will give me a screen that says "Your device is corrupt. It cant be trusted and will not boot" and then has a link to google support .

Did you let the raw rom flash entirely? It should take a minimum of 10 minutes... The phone should reboot twice (I think) as it completes... Maybe try again, but I'm not familiar with that message...
If the phone doesn't reboot, I would let it run for a half hour or so before rebooting...
