Indian Rom already comes with Widevime L1 so not sure why you have L3. Did you do a clean flash?

I am on India ROM as well with L3. Did a clean flash but it didnt change anything. To me thats not an issue though.

Indian rom only has L1 on locked bootloader. OP has a China k20 pro with Indian rom. There's no way to get L1 on a China model right now

simple answer to your question is you can't have widevine L1 on an unlocked bootloader.

Negative ! It's always been L1 on Xiaomi Global Devices on unlocked Bootloaders. See below ! My bootloader is unlocked. Xiaomi doesn't do that ****ery on Global Devices. What you're telling holds true for OnePlus and Asus.

it maybe working on global roms but there is no way that it's gonna work on indian variant.
for people who want to do it, give it a try and you shall see

Umm, you are wrong. Indian variant and Indian rom. Unlocked bootloader. Widevine was still L1. But I got bored with it and switched to Android Q. As soon as I flashed xiaomi EU rom, it switched to L3. But, you are right about one thing. To get L1 back, you have to flash the stable and relock. However, as long as you don't flash another rom, you can unlock again and the L1 stays(confirmed by multiple flashing).

My redmi note 7 pro on pixel experience is still L1 intact..... Hence I assume it is same with k20 pro also?

Then it'll work for you . There is no global ROM for Raphael at this moment hence there will be no L1 support for now. OP has a Raphael and flashing the Raphaelin ROM will not magically enable L1 because Raphael doesn't support L1

Prime video is still not streaming with HD even though my device has L1..... It's shows max as 480p......any suggestions

I really do hope, that after release of a global rom in the following days, there will be a divine intervention, that will bring L1 to Chinese variant. It's such a bs... like I understand the lack of bands, but why damn certification??

Mi8 how to get MIUI10 without unlocking bootloader?

I've just bought MI8 Global Version with locked bootloader, how can I get MIUI10 without unlocking it ?
I'd rather not experiment, because I'm seeing many topcis on xiaomi's forums about bricked phones etc.
Be patient please,I'm as green as grass about that.
You just have to wait until a stable version of MIUI becomes available via OTA update. (no date given yet, could be weeks, would be months)
The only way to flash a rom with locked bootloader is via edl but xiaomi recently blocked it so you can't do anything. Send a bootloader unlock request and wait.
Also do not update your global rom via ota if your mi8 is china version, you are going to brick your phone

If your phone is china version with a global rom on it you can't lock the bootloader or you will brick. If your phone is a global version you can run miui global and lock the bootloader no problems, but you can't run miui China and lock bootloader or you will brick

No i don't think it's my mobile operator problem, and not only xiaomi phones have 2 different icons for each market. So it could be for Europe LTE and other countries 4G.

I think that's more than likely what's going on. I've had numerous Asian market phones and they display 4G for LTE.

Stuck on Widevine L3 on EEA

Guys, my mi 9 is the Chinese model (8/128gb) with EEA rom. The seller unlocked the bootloader and install the EEA. The problem is that I'm getting widevine l3, not L1. It's possible to get L1 re-locking the bootloader? Or if I relock I'll brick it? Is there someway to get L1?
Thanks

Widevine l3 to l1 help

Hello Guys, I'm on lv3 now after I rooted my mi9 and flashed the xiaomi.eu Rom.
Ist there any way to watch HD content in Netflix nkw? Can't find a solution so far?
Already hide magisk and tryed top use a patched version.
Wouldn't be a Problem to flash another Rom but would love to keep the bootloader unlocked.
Best Regards
same problem with rooted Revolution OS
also googled for a solution, for the time being I found nothing. it seems common to all L1 devices
Xiaomi.eu ROM = china base = NO WIDEVINE L1
Stop flashing random roms without reading the fine print or looking for problems in the thread
Root-cause of the downgrade to L3 is basically the unlocked bootloader. Can it be tricked somehow on Global stable/beta unlocked bootloader?

Its NOT like you get a low widevine only because of the rom its more likely to the fact that you unlock and root your mobile.
All In wanted to know is If there is a was to change that.

Miui 11 & android 10

Hi respectful developers,
I bought Redmi K20 Pro from Australia, on the back of the device it is labelled as Redmi K20 pro but in the about phone section it is Mi 9T pro as prior to exporting it to Australia, exporters unlocked the bootloader and installed the global MIUI 10 (see snapshots).
Now the question, will this device in my hand get MIUI11 and Android 10? If yes, when? Will this update revert the device to the Chinese MIUI 11 ROM? If yes, how to get the official global MIUI 11 for the Redmi K20 pro?
I am currently residing in Egypt and would very much appreciate your good technical assistance.
Regards,
Mohamed Atteya
Basically they flashed 9T global ROM in your K20 pro. Which further means the bootloader is unlocked, if yes, you will still get OTAs when they arrive and you will be able to install them, OTA will come of same ROM and not of a different region so rest assured you won't go back to chinese.
HOWEVER. If you will use miflash tool to flash any other region's ROM, MAKE SURE you DON'T check on CLEAN ALL AND LOCK option in bottom right corner. Only check CLEAN ALL. This is because locking a bootloader with different region ROM installed bricks your phone.

General Mi 11 Ultra Unbricking Discussion Thread

Hello, I recently flashed my Chinese Mi 11 Ultra with Xiaomi.eu ROM and I would like to help others if you are new to flashing / working with fastboot stuff / dont know anything about ROMs and drivers. I can help you in my free time to unlock the phone (ofcourse you have to wait 7 days) and flash xiaomi.eu ROM after bootloader unlock. I owned xiaomi phones back from 2014 and I have some experience flashing and rooting phones. I will help you remotely through TeamViewer with no cost( *only in my free time* ) to help the community. For security purposes, i will be connecting through a completely empty laptop without any files in it.
NOTE: I am not the Xiaomi Authorized EDL guy. Just a Mi 11/ Mi 11 Ultra community member.
Thanks!
Hi @saisannihith ,
This made my day and I'm totally happy to be in a community still supporting each others. Sadly first two attempts I tried to get some help, they ignored and finally when I saw your post, it gave me some hope.
Sadly I'm new to Xiaomi world and recently I purchased my first ever device. So now the problem is since it's not release in my country I've gotten myself into this pickle of China ROM Mi 11 Ultra.
I have PM'd you as well (Contacting Method) and it would be greatly appreciated if you could help me out as well to get this device installed with EU Rom. Thank you so much in advance.
I can also help. I am based in EU, so bear in mind my timezone.

You cannot relock the bootloader if you switch.
If you go from Global to China, China to Global or Global to EU, you can't relock after any scenio.
The only time you can relock is if you reflashed the ORIGINAL global rom after getting bored of an EU or China variation.
If you installed the Xiaomi.eu rom you'd have Google Pay, Banking Apps, 12.5.7 and more so it would make sense to do this rather than stick with Vodafone Global and just not relock as it makes no difference to your usage.
P.s. Fastboot install of 12.5.4 of the Xiaom.eu rom is easiest for beginners.
You can use TWRP to update to 12.5.7 afterwards and not lose any data.

In reality, i just follow the tutorial step by step (here or on xiaomi.eu) and everything works fine.
But yeah don't relock the bootloader.
I would like to ask, last Sunday I started the countdown to unlock the bootloader, last night though I was olaying with the theme app of my global unit while all of a sudden phone rebooted and went to bootloop so I had to recall the stock recovery to wipe all data and do a factory reset, will this now affect the countdown and the unlocking process?
