OTA PP029.114-134 (June 2019 Security Update) Repeatedly Fails to install - Moto G7 Plus Questions & Answers

As the title states. I have the Moto G7 on Google Fi Network and got notice about System Update PP029.114-134 for this. No matter what I try, it starts to download and after 2-3 seconds or so, if fails with "Software Update Unsuccessful". I have tried to google with only one hit in an article, but nothing more. Any help and/or direction would be appreciated.

Well, I found a reference to Lenova Software Management tool (https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds101291; https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/moto-g...pdate-software-update-fails/m-p/4514564#M3183) and followed instructions precisely, but it soft-bricked my phone and now when I get home I'll try to restore it using this https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g7/how-to/how-to-fix-g7-xt1962-1-stuck-bootloader-t3917792. I'm open to suggestions

OTA Error, XT1064

Note- Please read thoroughly and answer my question with the utmost honesty if that is okay------Hello, developers, I am in need of help. I currently own the unlocked (gsm) Motorola Moto G 2nd Generation, US Version. Around February, I rooted my XT1064 with Kingroot. I did this, to get iOS 7 emojis, and nothing else. My phone is soft bricked. I recently recieved an OTA notification for Android 6.0 (marshmallow). While rooted, I tried to update the phone 3 times. Each time, the update downloaded fine, but when it came to installation, it went halfway through, flashed the android bot with the x (for errors) for a half second, then rebooted. About 2 minutes after boot, I receive an on screen pop up saying that "the installation had an error. no changed were made to your moto g" with no error code. After getting tired of this, I went to King Root settings, and did "uninstall and clear root" I kept the root backup checked. So, after unrooting, I factory reset and thought that I was all good with the update because factory reset right? WRONG. It still shows the same error message, even after factory reset. Does anyone know if this is a phone common OTA error, or if King root took some files that were needed for the OTA when I uninstalled? Help, please! PS: Marshmallow has been a long awaited update, and I hope you can help me. PPS: If you tell me to flash stock android, please provide instructions for my specific device. Also, please name the risks involved. I am fine with a soft brick, but tell me if a hard brick is possible.
Please Help
My xt1064 died after the marshmallow update. Ended up buying a new phone.

Huawei P9 Update. Please help me

Hi, for the past 4 hours i've been trying to update the huawei P9 to android 7 with firmware finder and i can't get that damn thing to work out.
I either get a failure of pakage verification even tho it said that the update is compatible with my phone or i just get a software failure and it says i can restart or go into erecovery. I've read through countless threads and i tried the suggested pause turn off the proxy and proceed the update and that didn't help either.
I don't know what to do anymore. Please help me internet

If you are stuck on Marshmallow (EMUI 4.x) with c900, see instructions how to rebrand and update to Nougat:

Manually updating new device to 9.0 [UPDATED]

I just bought a new, unlocked z3p direct from Motorola. Unfortunately, the OTA system update in settings is telling me I'm up-to-date at Jan 1 '19, OPWS28.70-31-8. I've read some pretty awful stuff about using LMSA to flash updates, so I'm curious if there's an official repository of stock roms/updates/etc. and if I can just use ADB to update this thing myself. All I want is latest stock rom+security updates with root. The less involved the process, the better.
Additionally, if I go this route, do I need to manually install each intermediary update, or can I just grab the latest and put it on? A thorough reliable guide is enough; I'm just having trouble finding one that connects all the dots for a simple 'new phone' situation.
I'm fairly well versed at using ADB/flashing/etc. (nexus 4, 5x, g4 play, etc) but it's been two years since I've messed with it. Additionally I have very little idea how to navigate the unusual A/B partitioning.
Thanks!
UPDATE: My Z3P is now up to date with the September 1st security patch and Android 9. I bit the bullet and used LMSA (there's a trick to it) and am posting here so it can help anyone who was in my situation. First I'll list steps that should work for you, and then detail how I did it (which was a little different).
How To:
1. Get LMSA: https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/general/update-moto-lenovo-moto-smart-assistant-t3951714
2. On your device, enable developer options and USB debugging. Ensure you have no screen-lock enabled.
3. Plug your phone in with LMSA open. LMSA app will install on the phone, give it every permission it requests.
4. Select your device model and LMSA will detect the latest build available. Download it.
4a. It might seem like the download is hanging once it reaches 0%. It won't tell you, but the file is being unzipped. Just leave it alone for a while. If the unzip fails, delete some stuff on the volume it's unzipping to.
5. Follow the steps on LMSA to update the phone. DO NOT TOUCH YOUR DEVICE. Just leave it be. It will look like nothing is happening, and/or LMSA will notify you of delays. Ignore them and let it go.
5a. Your device will be on a fastboot screen that prompts you to push the unlock button to "start". DO NOT TOUCH YOUR DEVICE.
What I did:
I got up to step 5, and kept seeing the 'delays'. I thought that it was a signal that LMSA needed me to press 'start' on the device end to help it begin the installation process. Incorrect. As soon as I did so, the LMSA process failed and my phone failed to boot with a message about a corrupt device.
At this point, I switched to the 'recover' tab in LMSA and let it recover with the same image I had downloaded for the update. However, this time, I just left it the hell alone at step 5. It took forever, so I walked away from it, and when I came back, my phone was booted into Pie.
When the fastboot screen is up, LMSA is working in the background to install the image. I'm quite certain that if I hadn't pressed 'start' on my device, my phone wouldn't have corrupted, and the image would have updated correctly. My suspicion is that many of the people having trouble with the LMSA are pressing 'start', which corrupts their devices because it boots while there's an incomplete image flashed to the phone.

Unable to get the Android 10 update

Hi all,
I am writing from India. I am using a nokia 9 pure view device. I have not gotten the Android 10 update. I am on Android 9, the November security patch.
I am blind so use talkback. I know there is a way of loading the ota update via using adb and the recovery mode. However, in recovery mode, talkback does not work so I am wondering how to get this update.
I have contacted Nokia support without success. The India support did not have any official information on the update and when I contacted Nokia on twitter, I was told to wait as the update would be rolling out in patches. This was in December. I understand that we are up to the first security patch of Android 10 and still no update. I cannot determine if this is a problem with India or something with my phone.
What can I try to get the update?
Pranav
Other than continuously trying to run the Update check manually via System Settings, not sure there could be an alternate solution.
Or, perhaps a fellow Android enthusiast around your area who is familiar with running adb commands may help you out?
Good luck with updating, hope your phone receives it soon.

PL] Thanks for your message. I have been checking since December 6 without success. However, I have extracted a logcat dump after running the manual check for updates via adb. The log is on my blog but I do not see how to paste the link because I am not permitted to do for anti-spam reasons. I'll try below and hopefully someone will be able to put the link together.
techesoterica dot com /wp-content/uploads/2020/01/update01.txt
something that's easy to miss is to make sure you don't have ad blockers running. I had blokada and it interfered with the phone's ability to detect the update.
It's not a problem with your device.
Nokia 9 Pureview in UK and India are not getting their updates delivered on time. Others having the same device are also experiencing this problem.
Hi all,
I have fixed the update issue and am posting the solution here for completeness. I do not think I can post links. The answer is on my blog at techesoterica dot com.
The fix involves using recovery mode to apply two updates manually after which the regular patches show up.
February security update has been issued.
Does it fix A10 issues? Wont upgrade to 10 again unless they are fixed...

LG G8 LMG820UM not updating OTA stuck at April 2019

I recently got LG G8 LMG820UM and I am not able to get the update.
Then I tried to go to bootloader. Google security message is shown there that bootloader is unlocked.
There is no bootloader menus and the LGUP tool cannot detect. Cannot go into recovery mode.
I tried LG bridge to update but stuck at 5%.
On the phone I am seeing Modified E/L/ R0 / Id() in red color.
I tried adb. I can view devices via adb and can give commond to reboot to bootloader but phone reboots to system.
Can anyone please help me to update the phone.
Thanks in advance.

I saw on here if you remove your Sim card, then factory reset and don't connect to anything including wifi, so skip everything to get to the home screen. Then connect to WiFi and check for updates it works. I did it and boom, I had to go through about 5 updates, but it all worked.

Thanks, but I am sorry that it does not work for me. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I Factory reset the phone without SIM. Then I skipped everything to reach home and then connect to WiFi. I checked for updates and It said, I am using latest version in this phone
My current phone security patch is April 2019 under Android 9.
I don't know what I am doing wrong.
Anyway, thanks for the help.

Were you able to update to Android 10? I'm having the same issue and also tried to reset without a SIM card in it.
Does anyone have a solution to this issue? I am having the same problem. Android 9 ROM with April 2019 security update. LG820UM.
No method worked to get an update. Neither OTA nor via LG Bridge
have you guys tried manually updating thru LGUP?
I'm on a different version (Sprint G820U10i) but also stuck at April 2019.
If someone could provide me the OTA file I can try to use the LGUP software to do manual upgrade.
Thanks in advance.
