Found in china weibo wzsx150 page.
This is not my work.
I just only sharing for redmi note 8 user.
Saying no bug found with this recovery in the original weibo post.
But backup data is highly recommended.
PS. This twrp come with Chinese and English language.
First time boot of twrp language was Chinese, so you need to change language to English in language setting.

It was run once, but not after that. I give up...
OK, I had successfully installed this twrp on China rom redmi note 8.

Then I tried install Global rom thru twrp and when it reboot, it came to the new phone setup screen.
When setup to region there is only China option, no other country else.
So no choice have to choose China, it starts to hangs..."Find device has closed unexpectedly"...
Tried to flash back China rom and it keeps booting into twrp.
Update
Since it keep getting into Twrp,
I do factory reset and flashed global rom.
Now it is working in global rom but without twrp recovery.
I think this twrp is not for global rom.
If flashed it will keeps getting into recovery mode.
Need experts to verify.

It wasn't a problem with my phone.
It seems that the twrp can only flash in 'china rom'.
I am also a 'global rom' but twrp doesn't flash.

-A computer (i use windows 10, x64)

-read this guide few times
*you must run android 7x, if not, you must downgrade to 7*
-turn your phone to download mode by holding <volume +> and <power> buttons
*follow TUT. from @wolfyapl*

Is any way to get OTA updates so that the root is preserved? Even if there TWRP will be broken, the main thing is to keep the root access.
Can i not downgrade my phone to android 7 and just unlock the bootloader? or is it necessary to downgrade it? i have nokia 5 android 8.1 btw..

I downgraded my android to 7.1, then unlocked the bootloader. Problem is how to run that twrp, i renamed it to recovery.img and copied it to the ADB file, is this correct? or should i just type the command "flash recovery recovery.img"? and after downloading the oreo update zip in the last part, in what file should i put it in?

Hey noob, i did try it and it worked. Its a temporary unlock so everytime you will need to be doing it before flashing any thing.

Currently on version 8.1.0 at patch level Nov 5 2018.

Hi!, I have the same problem here. I got yesterday my mi a2 and can't update to android pie, I'm in the same patch that you are.
hi the same thing has happened with me. received my red mia2 4/64 today but with 8.1 and nov 5 2018 security patch. i am on a strong wifi network but still no updates visible. tried flashing recent rom from mi website but i get the error flash error mismatching image and device.
i am out of ideas now.
Intersting to point out, that about a month ago we bought another MI A2 from same dealer (different color) and it was already running version 9 and not 8.1.

simply download the files from given link. they are edited bat and sh files to fix mismatch error which you might receive as i did while flashing the stock image.
i faced a similar situation today. mi mia2 red didn't receive any update since 8.1 nov 5 2018. so had to flash stock rom.
extract copy paste and overwrite.
so icant post links as i am less than 10 postshere . so looking for workaround

can you explain and send a PM with the link used?
experience this yesterday, probably this corresponds in Xiaomi server. Maybe they take down the patch after November 2018. You can download the official stock Pie version at MIUI website.
Updaing to PIE was successfull.
Used this guide to unlock bootloader: https://www.androidexplained.com/mi-...ck-bootloader/
Then used the MI FLASH tool to apply the stock rom. First atemp failed with "write error" after 55 seconds, but I tried a second time and this time the process completed.

One more info, can you share the link of the ROM used to flash with the MI FLASH?
I have the same issue with OTA updates. I went back to stock (V10.0.8.0.PDIMIXM) from that thread:

And I wanted to check if OTA is working, but it says there are no updates available.
I did it before and everything was working fine.

I will do it if there will be no other option. Didn't try yet, because my intention was to check of OTA updates will be working for the further updates.
If I will update in this way I will not get any info about next updates if OTA will not be working.

Unlocked the bootloader with "fastboot flashing unlock_critical"
After the update (I have no error using the process) I received an OTA security update from setember 5, 2019 that installed without problem too.
I found that cn rom has few updates allready in v2.21 with a quite big changelog.. someone knows if is possible to flash it in global device?also is cn rom multilingual? FINALLY INSTALLED . Steps 1 Unolock bootloader!!Be SURE it stays unlocked by rebooting and see the message "this device is not safe ..etc... " Step 2 downloaded ad cn rom V 2.17 and install via updater!!!after that follow the "clean user data"etc.upon reboot you noticed that it will try to reboot till the icons prior to see homescreen.but it will reboot and reboot!!DONT PANIC!!! STEP 3 REINSTALL V 2.17 VIA OTG...MIRACLE congrats you are on CN rom.after set up feel free to update ,first in v 2.20 ,then V 2.21....P.S. i havent manage yet to add my google account,and playstore doesnt work even ive try to install google framework etc with Google installer v2,or v3.... UPDATE 2!I μanage to install GAPPS! I also want to try the v2.21 CN ROM and I tried it few days ago but without results. I flashed the original files downloaded from Nubia but the phone does not boot.

Yes, I've format data before flash the zip but the phone doesn't boot. Chinese ROM only has English and Chinese languages and I think it comes without gapps.

Pitty.... I wonder when comes update to global version.i read in fb group that V.2.0.5 is in internal test.cant found any info btw...but ive found a working gcam w xmls (at least works on main sensor w night mode and astrophotography)

It recommends to flash the ROM via FOTA in the Settings section... and before flashing it also recommends to restore the phone and delete ROOT access.

I'm referring to the instructions from nubia website for flashing global rom. Can you use same steps for flashing chinese rom? It obviously doesn't involve roo5/adb/twrp

Guys , The UPDATE Version RMX1921EX_11_A.16 fixed all issues relating to unlocking and rooting.
Fingerprint works, no lock screen pin error, no magisk installation error (fix for core only mode is below) , safetyNEt bypass also works.
.
Here is the step by step guide.
1- Update to firmware version RMX1921EX_11_A.16. link available in reame website (fingerprint fix is fixed from updates here after)
2- Unlock bootloader
3- Flash twrp by thesprintster, https://forum.xda-developers.com/realme-xt/development/recovery-unofficial-twrp-realme-5-pro-t3985459
4 -flash magisk
5- Flash magisk Core-only fix (this fix is for 5 pro, however i have tried and it works for xt https://drive.google.com/file/d/108eV7pOuX50wQeO84kxmW-wQbZVdx0DZ/view
6-Reboot
Done.
If magisk shows core-only mode, go to settings and untick coreonly mode, enable magisk hide and reboot.
everything should be working now.
when you boot back to recovery the second time, twrp might be lost. flash it again. it will work perfectly from there after. worked for me at least.
This is how i rooted my phone today. I'm not a expert or anything. I took a leap of faith and moved forward.
For those who are going to it, I won't take responsibility if your phone breaks, so try it on your own risk.

no i haven't tried custom rom. but it works in stock rom after bt unlock
I have checked firmware version on my device. The last update was RMX1921EX_11_A.14 not RMX1921EX_11_A.16

Once done , Flash custom recovery/magisk and reboot once..and also you may need to update build prop to have Sdk version updated in file or there is forum to flashable zip ..Once done Magisk works like a charm

How did you made it?
Nothing different as with Android P,
1. boot unlocked
2. installed twrp with odin.
3.Instantly restart in twrp after installing.
4. install magisk
works normal

Is there any procedure that properly roots Android 10 stable without leading to an infinite bootloop?
I am able to root but biometric stopped working.

Right, install twrp through odin, make sure you boot straight into twrp from download mode. Then wipe date and reboot recovery not the system. Then flash the multi disable zip from the download link. Then flash magisk and reboot. All done

You got me there bud, My advice would to try a dirty flash to android 10 with Odin, but chances are you may need to flash twrp again not to sure.

Just follow the instructions above with the link you need to flash that file after you flash twrp to stop the boot loop. Obviously you need Odin to flash twrp

You can do this as long as Indian firmware also labels as G960F. I am on Philippines and I'm using firmware from United Arab Emirates.
