YouTube Vanced not working? stuck at boot screen [SOLVED] - ASUS ROG Phone II Questions & Answers

I have installed both recent version of microG and YT Vanced (non-root versions). YouTube Vanced just gets stuck at the boot page (the YouTube Logo) forever. I tried reinstalling several times. The exact same version and procedure worked on my previous OnePlus 6 perfectly.
Edit: I did a factory reset and reinstalled without changing any settings and yet it didn't work.
Is anyone else facing this too, and are there any fixes?
Especially ROG 2 Indian variant users, please comment if it works for y'all.
Edit: It actually takes forever to load the app the first time. Wasn't this way on my other phones but I just had to wait a couple of minutes. It works now!
Thanks to the awesome XDA community anyways. Y'all very supportive.

This might do something with battery saving and background restrictions maybe? Although I tried removing all battery and memory optimisations for those two apps alone.

Oh okay and thank you. Looks like it's some battery and memory optimisation of other apps messing up with YT Vanced. I probably need to reset some things.

Working fine here.

I did a complete factory reset and installed YT Vanced without changing anything, yet still gets stuck. You guys are using the non-rooted version right? Can you please share the procedure to install it? I just directly installed both APKs without disabling YouTube or anything and this worked fine on my OnePlus 6.

Make sure to install microG first and then YouTube Vanced.... installing YouTube Vanced first crashes it...

Be sure to install the latest micro. Also try after resetting your device and then install first the micro and youtubevanced, check if its working. If yes then maybe conflict with other apps you installed

Thank you guys, and yes, I did install microG first then YouTube Vanced next. I did that right after factory reset, so there were no other extra apps installed. I also removed all memory and battery optimisations for both of the apps, tried disabling YouTube and Chrome, yet no difference.
Can't live without Vanced lol

Re download micro and vanced

My phone is running Vance well after i uninstalled micro.

All working fine here, vanced 14.21.54 and micro g 0.2.6.17455
Note, 0.2.6 was needed instead of 0.2.4 versions

I used the 0.2.6 version only. Redownloaded and Reinstalled many times. Tried installing only Vanced without microG. Still no luck.
Is there any specific YT Vanced version for this phone?
I just got the common one in the XDA site.
I've got the Indian ROG 2 variant. Maybe something got to do with that?

You mentioned you didn't disable the original YouTube app.
Try deleting Vanced and MicroG and make sure you clear data before deleting them
Then open original YouTube app , then close it and then disable the app entirely. Then try installing Vanced and MicroG

Thank you. I tried this and yet no luck. I tried several combos and still the same result. Tried all these right after factory reset too. I'm starting to feel this has something to do with the ROG Indian ROM or something.

I didn't do anything special using imported tencent version from China. Just the regular app from xda. Haven't disabled the standard version either.. Not sure what to suggest

Well thanks a lot to all of you guys. I finally got it to work!
The boot screen actually took a couple of minutes to get through. I just left it on the Vanced boot screen unknowingly for a long time and was opened the time I came back xD.
IDK what caused the delay but anyways now I can have a peace of mind. Thank you all!

[Q] Decad3nce's 1.1r2 Youtube/Market Broken?

Hey,
So to get to this point I flashed the entire device back to stock 1.01, setup the BN account, rooted with Monster, setup youtube/gmail/market and tested. Everything works fine. I then used CWM to install the update to 1.1. Everything seems to work except that the market fails to connect and youtube just closes upon opening. I tried to fix the permissions, but that didn't resolve it. I also tried installing the Vendor.apk, but just keep getting a message about an invalid cert. Any ideas?
Yes had the same issues with R2 and also the touchscreen worked very strangely.
So went to a backup and loaded R1, that worked great.
I had the same problem. This fixed it for me:
1. Restore to stock 1.0.1 (Don't go from 1.0)
2. Register with B&N
2. Use latest autonooter
3. After you sign in to Youtube as instructed and get Market working, reboot
4. After you reboot, you'll notice that Market works, but Youtube force closes (I think this is where the problem is)
5. Uninstall Youtube (Clear Data first), and then install the signed Youtube .apk
6. After Youtube is working, then you can apply the prerooted 1.1 update.
After many frustrating hours of trying to get Market and Youtube to work, this is what worked the first time for me
I never did R2 but did do R1. My market worked fine but youtube didn't.
Anyway, if you have Titanium Backup then go in there and delete the cache from Youtube. Then go back and log into Youtube like you did with the original Autonooter setup. I think this will fix both. At least it got Youtube to work on mine
And if that didn't work for some reason try removing Youtube and installing it from the apk somewhere around page 20 of the thread.

The apk or the flashable install? The only apk I found wasn't signed correctly. I tried clearing the cache, but still no go. Just closes immediately.
I would try the flashable one. I did push the apk on mine but I think I later delete it. Besides I think the apk was the exact same as the one I had on there
I really think deleting the cache from Titanium Backup is what did it for me. Of course if you don't have it then getting it without the market makes it a little harder
Also try logging in with gmail and then going to the market. I see where one person said that fixed that for him. You might try gtalk. I just remember seeing the post and didn't have the issue myself
Some more info for you
Never tried this but if you're still having problems after all the stuff above with youtube then you may try removing data\data\com.google.android.youtube\shared_prefs That's what someone on page 5 of the thread recommended. I think I would just copy it off the nook and then remove it to see if it works
And if nothing else works with the market then there's a flashable vending app on page 24.
Not to threadjack but has anyone see an issue with DropBox with r1/r2 of this sideload? It just hangs on downloading and never does, evening erroring out.

These and lots more grievances are described in my blog. Decad3nce answered to me that whatever my experience with r1 is irreproducible to him, then recognizes he used "wrong" kernel, decided to put signed_YouTube into his ROM r2 -- instead of more stable HQ YouTube I proposed a month ago. There's tons more of broken stuff both in r1 and r2, I won't quote the whole list here. Staying on 1.0.1 with fake build.prop is probably the best way to deal with 1.1.0 "upgrade".

I don't know, but the youtube app for me when I goto certain youtube videos displays an HQ logo topright at beginning. Does that not mean HQ is working?
What else for you is broken. You state tons and yet with the exception of the XDA app and LCD density (which I suspect is more due to the B&N changes than his 1.1), everything works as good or better than on 1.0.1

How do I clear the data and uninstall the Youtube apk? It's now a system app and doesn't show up under "manage apps" I tried installing it again as an update but that didn't work. I uninstalled the update, but it still shows up under my "Extras". It just fails to open.

USB debugging doesn't work with this update. It keeps turning off which is a real pain in the butt. That on top of the XDA app being borked was enough for me to restore my old build.
USB Debugging and Market....
I found usb debugging turned itself off once connected to PC so I'm using adb over wifi for the moment. Otherwise, USB Debugging can keep itself running without problem and button savior works fine.
The newer market(vending.apk is about 2MB) doesn't work on 1.1 preroot. It worked on the first boot but after first app was downloaded/installed the market FC and would never open again. However, the old market(file size is about 1MB) came with autonooter works with 1.1 preroot. So if you've updated the market, try the older version.
Not sure about youtube, mine works but very slow when opening videos, takes forever to buffer

I had the same problem on mine. What I did was to open Titanium Backup, find Youtube under Backup / Restore, and do a Wipe Data on it. At that point Youtube started to work again and I had to log into my channel as in the original autonooter
bitnerd, that worked like a charm. Simple enough. Thanks.
No problem. If you have other things that you can't fix otherwise it may work there too. I've noticed one or two apps that behaved strangely and then were fixed by clearing the cache data

Root and Playstore issue

Hi folks. ill make it quick:
i have an issue with my note9 (960f) whenever i use a stock-based-rom. after the first boot there is no problem with root (magisk) or installing apps from the playstore. works as expected.
but after a while it takes up to an hour to install any app from the appstore (no issue installing apks or other stores). during this installation process the playstore stucks @ 1 or 99% and wont progress any further.
after a while the install is done, the playstore presents me all the apps that i can update. if i que several apps to install then they will be installed after the same amount of time spend waiting.
restarting phone, clearing cache of playstore and google play services does not help.
second problem is the root. after the first boot i can give any app root permission but after a while i get the error "su request rejected". everything i found on google does not help.
what i tried: clearing cache etc, reinstalling rom. unlocking bootloader (first time the playstore issue occurred on stock rom before unlocking and rooting), rooting, tried differend stock-based roms, uninstalling several samsung services like the galaxy store, different kernels, remount namespace. nothing helps
both issues do not occurre on aosp or similar roms, like lineage 16. no issue at all.
i hope anyone has an idea how to solve this.
(p.s. sry for my english)

disable 'google' in apps
update your magisk version to v18.2xx or v19
be sure magisk manager front end is also updated
Magisk is up to date (both)
Cleared data of Google and disabled it then and... Magic. It works
I love your mate!!! Can you explain me why? How can I keep the app and be not affected by the bug?
Thank you!!!

New XL can't install from the playstore

Hi all, just got a brand new pixel 4 XL and cannot update Chrome or System web view , any ideas how to fix this? Already did a factory reset but still get the same issue, all other apps updated just fine.
Mine was having issues with chrome yesterday as well, eventually it installed. However, still unable to do system webview, not sure why, but Im guessing Google hasn't made them compatible in the app package with the new devices yet.
I had the same problem, then I loaded the apps from apkmirror and updated them.
ditto. Force stopped chrome. reboot. play store update chrome, then system web view. sorted.
Thanks, will try apk mirror ?

Are you bootloader unlocked? Neflix wont show up in the play store if your phone is modified in anway. You need to get it from APK Mirror and then it will update in the playstore.

Apologies if you already did this, but before uninstalling the newer version of backup - try clearing cache and data a few times, force stop and then uninstall. This method has helped me with other apps in the past when wanting to downgrade and getting an error about newer version even when uninstalled.
Why you should I do this? I updated Backup app from AppGallery and I also got the last version of sistem update and everything works ok with GMS installed. Is there something that I must check or .....?

Viper4Android on Pixel 4A 5G

Has anyone been able to get Viper4Android working an Android 11? i flashed using the April 2021 Factory Image and have tried following multiple threads and guides, but have never gotten V4A to work consistently/completely.
Viper4android Android 11??
There is viper4android for android11 or I need to wait?
forum.xda-developers.com
This is the Viper4Android I've used for 6+ months. Its the only working, plug and play version I've found for Android 11. You simply download the zip, flash in magisk -- and done. There's nothing else you need to do.
Its 100% safe. Its 100% working. So easy.
I can vouch for it... And love it!
Click on the youtube link, and the zip is in the info there. No need to watch the video. Just flash with magisk or a kernel manager... and done.
I'm on LineageOS for microG 18.1, Proton kernel 1.4, Magisk rooted and this is not working for me. Further more, it mess up with SElinux making it disabled. Fortunatelly, there is an app SElinux switch, that on every boot make it Enforcing again.
I have the 5a but there are no posts yet.....
are any of you getting V4a to work using the USB port ? I run my phone usually into a dac via the usb, but Viper's only working on my phone through the headphone jack.
That YouTube video has been removed. Any chance someone could post the .zip? TIA
Root with magisk and install the Viper plugin, works like a charm on my 4a 5G. Not much else to it.

Not as simple as that for me I'm afraid. Magisk module causes bootloop.
Had the ViperFX_Android11.zip before from that same YT vid (purple/white GUI) and it worked well.
No luck or erratic performance with other versions (black/green GUI), the one from the guy with the name that looks Thai -- Pittanddwwitt idk lol.
Are you rooted normally with magisk per the instructions in this forum? Thats all I've done. Do you have a phone from google or from a carrier?
I got mine from google. Im rooted per the normal instructions. I have magisk v2.7.2.1 and the magiskhide props config modules installed. Ive never had a bootloop with either.
Not really sure what else to try. For what its worth, I cant get viper working on a rooted pixel 3, no bootloops, but the status always says abnormal.

Magisk version (from Canary channel) is f822ca5b (23001) -- that doesn't look right lol... oh, and Systemless hosts module installed only.
I only lost Viper when I updated to the September factory image
<shrug> idk why </shrug->
don't think it happened with other updates.
I'm pretty sure tho that I'd be in top shape, also indebted, if someone could post ViperFX_Android11.zip since the above referenced YouTube vid is gone and, with it, the link and I can't find the same version anywhere else. Thank you very much.
I just received my used 4a 5g. Got V4A v2.7.2.1 downloaded from Magisk v23 working last night...but it was a long trial & error ordeal. First download it showed Unsupported and Abnormal. Thought maybe it needed the Audio Mod Library but that didn't work. Then I tried the Audio Compatibility Patch to no avail. I tried V4A Legacy. Mulitple installs and uninstalls of all the various modules and combinations. At this point I'm not even sure what I did, or in what order/combination, but V4A is installed and working as intended. I do NOT have any of the Audio modules installed, just V4A. Don't know why it didn't work originally, or what made it finally work after fiddling with it for about an hour, but for me, that's my story/advice. Wish I could give an exact process to follow.

Thanks for posting this! The version I had (v2.7.2.1) didn't work as reliably as it should. Often times it wasn't "processing". I uninstalled it and installed yours. So far it seems to be working well.
BIG BONUS - your version allows to view settings for the speaker, ear-buds, & blue-tooth without actually being connected to said devices. I never liked that "feature" of the newer V4A versions.
what about android 13?
