Exynos Variant GPS output - Samsung Galaxy S10 Questions & Answers

Dear all,
I am looking to buy a Samsung Galaxy S10, or Note10 Exynos.
For S9 and Note9 Exynos, GPS chipsets provided Accumulated Doppler Range (ADR)
I was wondering if this is the case for S10 and Note10 as well. (Snapdragon 855 does not provide this)
I want to check in person, but I live in US, and it is hard to find Exynos variants here (some sellers say it's Exynos as it is GSM compatible, but GSM is not necessarily Exynos...)
One way to check ADR is:
1. Install Geo++ Rinex Logger (Available in Google Play Store)
2. Press start logging when you can see satellites
3. This makes a .19o extension file that can be simply read using any text editor, or can be read by changing the extension to .txt
4. If there are 4 values,or 8 values, it supports ADR. Otherwise, it does not support it.
No e.g. G02 22428494.340, space, 3164.750, space, 28.700
Yes e.g. G02 22428494.340, 19532684.629, space, 3164.750, space, 28.700
There are other methods such as installing Google's Logging app, but the above is the easiest
If anyone with S10 Exynos or Note10 Exynos (plus models are ok as well as it is the same processor) could confirm that this is or is not the case, I would highly appreciate it!
Thank you

Hi, I have a Galaxy Note 2 (duh) and I am getting into more running, and over-all health related activities.
I use Runtastic, and there related applications to track my information.
I am wondering whats the best device for tracking heart rate and all that information that works with those apps? I am asking in this area because at the same time I am looking for an arm band that can hold my note 2, maybe even have one of those heart rate/health devices attached to it the arm bad that supports the note 2 as well.
I hope I am making sense.
Ideas?
Thanks.

before putting on the market it was written that my Note 8 will record 4K video and 60 FPS. hell where we got it?

That's nothing to do with Samsung. Its an app developed by an independent app developper.
During the unveilling of the Note 8, they only claimed 4k at 30fps

I have no idea what independent sites reported but do check the video of the unveilling. It was NEVER claimed that the Note 8 will do 4k at 60. The site you linked must have a typo.

I suspect the confusion has arisen from tech sites quoting the capabilities of Exynos 8895 vs Snapdragon 835.
The processors maybe capable of 4K @ 60, but thats not to say it has been enabled in the phone its been put into. Samsung have their reasons for not unleashing its full power. Would love to know what they are.
Samsung is working in high-level fools who are subject to US influence as it is from all of them and Europe is just paying for it

Yeah but they never deceived anyone... Lol. They said it was possibly capable of it. In the reveal they said it would be 4k @ 30fps
Hints:
http://www.samsung.com/global/galaxy/galaxy-note8/specs/
https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_note8-8505.php
Both sites (and many more) list it as 4K @ 30fps.
EDIT: And about that "US Influence" thing, I don't know why we would influence 'our own products' as well, if anything we'd also like that feature. They have their reasons.
SD835 does not support the video allegedly shoot 60 fps. but the Exynos Yes. so because of this Samsung disable overall. This is my opinion but I could be wrong. We are far advanced in technology but this one I consider to be someone. because the camera can do that but the Samsung yet to limit us? a big mistake. Cheers.

Not everyone on XDA is all about rooting and roms. Some of us LIKE to use things like Android Pay and other apps that require Safetynet to function. This thread is about shooting video at a certain rate. sheesh.

Note 9 or P20 Pro

Hi all i currently have a P20 Pro dual sim but i am bored with the current lack of roms etc and im think of selling and getting a Note 9.
Which is the best version (Snapdragon or Exynos) looks like Exynos after a quick look in the forum?
Buy a Snapdragon because he's a little bit faster and you will have better battery economy

get the exynos because there is a wider range of roms.
( dont think the guy that replied before me realises that)
plus only the n9600 snaldragon has the ability to be rooted the n960u and 960w are useless in that regards.
the exynos n960f /ds and n960n are the prefered devices for people that enjoy root.

Have them both P20 pro & Note 9
I'm not that interested in Unlocking or installing roms on these devices .
I have the P20 Pro 6gb/128gb in use for some months now and last week i bought the Note 9 8gb/512gb Exynos.
When i compare these 2 phones they are both verry good phones i can get used to using any of these as a daily driver .
The only thing that makes me a littlebit worry is the camera .
In my opinion the P20 pro takes better shots but the Note 9 takes better video ..
For now i'l keep them both .

what mode was the n9 camere on?
Get the n9600. It is simply the faster phone.
The exynos may have more custom roms to choose from but since they're all based off stock, they're all pretty much the same. You really need only one rom with one dedicated developer and we have that with @Mentalmuso and WETA rom.

I didn't forget them. All aosp roms are pretty much the same these days too. I just upgraded from the Zuk Z2 plus and we had about 10 pie roms to choose from. All great, but you can pretty much close your eyes and choose one and be good.
As for gsi I've never used it but i understand it to be pure android? If so no thanks. Why would anybody flash that and give up all the features of the note 9? I guess that goes for aosp based roms too. It only made sense on stock boring android but never on Samsung. The loss far outweighs the gains.

the goal of rooting always was about choice..so selecting the device that can give you the wider range of choice would make sense in my opinion....
It's also worth noting that the Exynos version has a slightly better DAC compared to Snapdragon. Good to know if you want quality sound out of it.

Firstly, the note 9 dev section is actually quite lonely - only one kernel, few ROMs and that's all. Secondly, the snapdragon variant is A LOT better vs the exynos in every regard - better battery life, faster CPU in real world, ~30% faster GPU on average, smoother UI (less frame drops), faster emulation on emulators. It's the better variant to get by far.

This is not that true anymore, qualcomm really improved their own DAC in the last two generations. There are enough materials on the web about exynos 9810 - go read Andrei's articles (anandtech) how to improve exynos 9810 (part 1 and part 2). Also his article with direct comparison between the two note 9 variants in real world/real tests not antutu etc. - the snapdragon note 9 makes a joke of the exynos versions. The difference is like high tier midrange device vs the highest tier device. It's not even close and buying the midrange device just because you have two more ROMs that are the same (flashing AOSP on note is absurd as you will give up all the features, you are better of with s9, BUT even then there are compromises like camera quality/features) - is a mistake. Yes, I have the exynos note 9 and while OK, I perfectly well understand and see how mediocre the SOC is, even the sd 835 beats it in some cases and it shows in real world usage.
I am saying all that with warmth of heart towards fellow xda member that can choose between the two variants.

I know right. Choosing an inferior variant solely because it has more of the same rom to flash is beyond crazy. I guess it's true you can only lead a horse to water.

Why the Xperia 1 ii hasn't 4k 120 Hz recording option?

Hey everyone,
since the Xperia 5 ii is officially announced: why the Xperia 5 ii has slomo video support in 4k and the 1 ii does not?
If I read the technical details correctly, both phones have the identical 3 cameras. [emoji23]
That means for me: it's only a software thing.
Does anyone have more information about that?
Cheers

The snapdragon 865 can't run at 120hz a 4k resolution

Imho, i prefer a display with a higher dpi and resolution than a higher refresh rate, I don't spend time scrolling menu as a zombie to try to see how fluid it is :silly:
Ah ok, makes sense! Yes I like 4k and would prefer that over 120Hz

Same. I use Sony 4k phones since 2016. [emoji28]

still may be possible for them to add it as the screen isnt 4k all the time, it runs below that, only when viewing 4k content it comes on, either that or they could increase the motion reduction blur to maybe 120 Hz.

Are you referring to this section:
Rumored specs: The Google Pixel 5 is a 5.8" phone with a 1080x2340p resolution display. The Qualcomm SDM765 Snapdragon 765G chipset is paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The main camera is 12.2+16MP and the selfie camera is 8MP. The battery has a 4080mAh capacity.

If so then it states it is a 5.8" phone, not that the screen is 5.8".
If this is not what you are referring too can you give more detail as to the location of the error?

The Pixel 5 is real, no rumors anymore, the screen size is 6.0" not 5.8"
Please change this , this is my only point here...
