No luck with Recovery mode in SmartSwitch PC app, it says "smart switch does not support initializing, please contact service center"
Tried to flash magisk tar file via odin after enable oem unlock in developer options. However, at the end of flash device shows boot-loader locked and device always boot to screen showing " An error has occurred while update the device software. User Emergency recovery function in the smart Switch PC software"
Mode: S10 5G SM-G977B
AOSV: Android 10. DTM-G977BXXU2BSL2
Any input how to enter into download mode?

Kozmike, wait until the phone battery dies, charge to 40% and boot into download mode. Flash the original firmware for your Model.

@zeroktal, The device never boots directly into Download mode, FYI on S10-5G (SM-G977B) the download mode standard key combo(Vol-Down+Bixy+Power) is disabled and the only way to enter into download mode is to first boot into recovery mode and select menu option boot into boot-loader.

Did you wait for the battery to die? Also you CAN boot directly into download mode. I know this because, I literally just did it 10 minutes ago. This exact process, dead battery and all.

Heyya guys, I've personally could always boot directly into download mode full battery or not. Regardless if you manage to boot to download mode, flash stick non edited firmware first to see if you make progress, the bootloader being locked is a little scary but I'm 50% sure you can flash stock firmware still. Also you've stated you can get into recovery, is this stick recovery menu or twrp?. If twrp format cache, if stock have you tried a normal format?

Yes, the device will show the "Emergency recovery mode" screen only when I plugin the charger cable. and will die when unplugged the charging cable. tired different approach to enter into download mode but no luck, the device always boots to emergency recovery screen.
BTW is your device SM-G977B 5G with android-10? may be android-9 has standard key combo to get into download mode.

I had stock recovery, may I know how did you unlock the bootloader? Please explain the steps in detail.

I'm android 10-sm-g977b too. Standard button combos work for me. I unlocked my bootloader over 6 months ago, but the steps are available. The generally gist is going into developer menu, turning on OEM unlock, booting into download mode and holding a certain button to finish the process. Though im not 100 sure but it may wipe your data. Also if say you don't go download mode and unlock straight away you may need to wait a week to try agajn as the option would be greyed out

Also remember you must have your phone plugged into the computer with the computer having all the correct drivers for you to get into download mode, otherwise the button combo will do nothing and holding those buttons without the cable will just turn your device on and off as the phone thinks your just holding the power button down and that's it ?

Good job guys, i'm happy to see you guys helped each other and it was awaken from the dead! :good:

Hi XDA community.
I have the same issue as CP-93. I own a SK Telecom Galaxy S10 5G SM-G977N.
I tried yesterday to flash a custom rom, so first I flashed the TWRP recovery using Odin, then I was stuck after flashing the recovery in a bootloop with the same screen as CP-93 attached in this thread, with no access to recovery mode nor download mode, it just keeps rebooting until the battery dies I guess.
Can someone please explain to me how can I access again the download mode so I can reflash the stock rom?
Thanks in advance for the amazing support of this community.
Best regards.

I have the same problem ... how is he?

You could try to enter fastboot mode after having removed the battery.
This will work, as I'm always getting rid of broken kernel builds that way.
Try to connect the phone with removed battery and power/volume up buttons pressed simultaneously.

Moto X - Stucked in Bootloop (No recovery)

Hello everyone , Maybe it was a mistake or something my device is now just looping in. I searched a lot and followed different methods but not succeeded.
Previously I was on
Android 4.4.4 (Stock) with bootloader unlocked. NO ROOT
I tried stock recovery method but failed
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/guide-moto-x-return-to-100-stock-using-t2446515
I am just able to run fastboot (Volume Down + Poweroff) and tried to flash TWRP recovery.
Code:
C:\adb>mfastboot flash recovery twrp-2.6.3.1-ghost-4.4.img
(bootloader) Variable not supported!
target max-download-size: 768MB
sending 'recovery' (9854 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.864s]
writing 'recovery'...
OKAY [ 0.905s]
finished. total time: 1.777s
After flashing I reeboted but no success. Just showing Motorola boot animation and shuts down.
Help me please. Stucked badly.

Ok you are on the 4.4.4 bootloader. All you need to do is press and hold power button until the screen shuts off. Then quickly press and hold volume down button for about 3 seconds, keep holding it then press the power button and hold them both for about 3 seconds then release the buttons to get you into bootloader mode.
Then reflash your 4.4.4 stock system and recovery images using mfastboot. That should do it.
Are you using the correct system and recovery images for your model? What model do you have?

Thank for replying, I went to the bootloader and tried to flash an 4.4.4 Asian Moto X firmware using fastboot. After completing all the steps when I reboot, it again just shows Moto boot animation. Nothing else, even further when I choose "recovery" from bootloader, it goes to a dead screen with red exclamation mark.

If the system image is a single file system.img, you will need mfastboot to flash it. If it is in sparse chunks, then regular fastboot can flash it.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/guide-newbies-how-to-revert-to-stock-t3104208 take a good look at this thread. All you need to is to revert to stock through Rsd lite. mFastboot causes many issues AFAIK. Read everything in the thread and implement it... I've mentioned information for people in a situation like you are right now... Use RSD LITE to flash new firmware. I think your whole phone needs to be erased. Rsd lite will do this for you. Also make sure you have an unlocked bootloader.

Great news!!!! If you are going to flash, you really need to know how to force a hard reboot and get into bootloader mode. If you can do that and your bootloader is unlocked and you have the stock firmware for your phone, you can recover from anything!!!

[Q]

Hello.
Cant get any help anywhere, hope here someone will help me.
I have LG G2 VS980 32Gb version. I have rooted it myself, I installed on it TWRP bootloader and xdabbeb_vs980_3.1.2 ROM and everything worked perfect.
But I wanted to install CM12, when I was doing that TWRP "told" me something like "your device is not rooted, do you want to root the device" with yes button. I thought "why not?" and pushed the button.
After that phone has no reaction on any combination of buttons, but Windows 8.1 see my phone as qhsusb_bulk.
P.S. I cant get it to download mode.
can someone help me?
If you installed TWRP, then boot into it by holding pwr + vol down until lg logo shows then do it again it will then load twrp. Click yes twice to factory reset.. Its not reallly gonna do it since your rooted. The rom probably isnt enabled in settings.

pluged it with ac charger it did not charge.
pluged it in PC with Windows 8.1, sees it as qhsusb_bulk
pluged it in PC with Slax Linux 7.0.8, it did not see it.
pluged it in PC with CentOS 7, it did not see it.
So there is a unbrick utility in the verizon forums G2. If you was in twrp before and you didnt Reflash the recovery then its bootable to twrp. What happens when you turn the phone on. Vol down and pwr when turning on release the buttons and then hold those buttons again and it will load twrp. Do you see the LG Logo at all or you in fastboot mode?

You have to make sure you are using a fastboot cable
Edit: TWRP is a custom recovery not a bootloader. 39a bootstack is required lollipop for the LG G2 verizon VS980 model. Have you try flashing stock. If you bumped twrp to your device then you should be able to access it. If the device is fully dead find a fastboot cable just so it will show the LG logo and that point you can load twrp. You cant revive a dead device or can I? Lol also your selinux must be set to permissive or your device will not boot. TWRP doesnt require root to flash roms and make backups. If you have a sign of any life your device is not bricked. I have bricked many devices and i have found a way back. Just stay positive If you need more help post screenshots of your cable and use a wall charger not usb!!!!

I have broken volume up button so I cant go to recovery by power+volume up, and, I dont know why, after pressing power+volume down, my phone turn off and I cant even go to fastboot.
Any ideas what can I do?
Please try to press the power button for at least 10 seconds to force reboot the phone, when the MI logo shows up, press power+volume down and enter fastboot. Then connect to computer and reboot to recovery via ADB.
I did that, but the fastbot screen doesn't show up. It was like that because I had Darkness Kernel and it show always darkness theme instead of f.e. fastbot screen. But thanks for answer @andoidZhao.
Problem already solved. Thread's dead :]
