Hi, thanks for posting your guide. I have a few questions if it's okay.
1. Where is the stock boot image backed up to?
2. If I needed to undo everything this guide achieves (e.g. for warranty or selling), would I...
A. Uninstall all Magisk modules that I may have installed, then remove Magisk using Magisk Manager, then uninstall Magisk Manager
B. Restore the backed up boot image. (I'm not sure how to do that but can probably find out how to do it using adb)
C. Relock the bootloader.
3. Can I let Magisk Manager update Magisk and update Magisk Manager? The tip about how I can replace Magisk files and the risk of bricking make me think that maybe I can't.
4. Because you're thanking @mauronofrio for his unofficial twrp, does that mean this replaces the stock recovery with that twrp?
Thank you!

Also does the safetynet passes along with EdXposed?

Ok thank God the Lord has given me a changed frame of mind cause I was about to slam my laptop and computer. I must be missing something. I have Java installed and downloaded the magisk jar and for the life of me I can't get it to work not by double clicking not by running as administrator nothing I can't get Java to pop up so I can put in the command. And I tried using the other method with adb and fastboot. I keep getting error that directory doesn't exist. I think I'm stuck with boring stock at least I got unlocked LOL oh well. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

More information about Viper4Android
See official XDA thread for Viper4Android:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191223
In this thread I would like to provide a list of tutorials for installing Viper4Android on L90 in different configurations and different scenarios. I decided to do that cause installing Viper4Android since Lollipop has become much harder for average users. This particular thread will work very simple. In here users will be allowed only to post complete tutorials with (for example) instructions how to install Viper4Android or recommended settings configuration. Q&A will be taking place in separate thread. I will also provide a recommended template for users so every instruction looked similar and friendly.

Instructions:
1. Check for SELinux policy.
- Go to settings > About a phone > SELinux status
- If Enforcing then:
a) Change SELinux policy to Permissive (less secure). Go to point 2
b) Install MOD allowing Viper4Android to work with Enforcing policy (recommended) (requries unlocked bootloader and custom recovery). Go to Point 3
- If Permissive then got to point 4
2. Changing SELinux policy to Permissive.
- Install SELinuxModeChanger-v3.2-release.apk
- Grant ROOT privileges
- Click on "Permissive button"
- Do NOT uninstall this app.
- Go to point 4

- Download "Viper4Android_on_L90" zip...
- ...and extract "Viper4Android_on_L90" folder onto your SDCard.
- Select right Viper4Android app for you from the folder:
a) Viper4AndroidFX_Modded.apk was created by one user and has Material Design theme included but for me worked only in "compatibility" mode. Can be a security risk.
b) Official Viper4Android_FX_A4.x.apk created by author of the original app. It was NOT modified and works in "normal" mode. (recommended)
- Open the app and select right driver mode for you. (I selected High Quality).
- Configure the app for your liking.
6. That's all. Go ahead and enjoy Viper4Android music experience on LG L90.
Information from tutorial author:
- Tested with CM12.1 form Quarx with standard kernel from Quarx. Version from August 30, 2015.

Prerequisites:
-Your bootloader must be unlocked.
-Have installed a custom recovery.
-Recovey.img for patch (32/2 variant only).
-Magisk.
Spoiler: PROCESS IN THE VARIANT 32/2
WARNING: In this variant when the root is active, the phone does not read the IMEI (I mean the mobile data won't work), this is fixed by simply rebooting normally, but yes reboot normally you won't have root.
Download and install the Magisk application.
In the section "Magisk" click on "Install" and select "Recovery Mode", then next and select "Select and Patch a File" and search recovery.img file (it can be the recovery twrp or the recovery stock), select "Let's Go" and wait for the process to finish. Once finish the process, the file patched will be in the folder Downloads.
Then reboot on TWRP, once there go to "Install", select "Install Image" and then select the file patched what is in /sdcard/Downloads and install it like "Recovery", then reboot into recovery mode and you will have root .
Spoiler: PROCESS IN THE VARIANT 64/4
Download the zip file of the GitHub of Magisk.
Reboot in TWRP, select "Install" and then search the zip file of Magisk and flash it.
Then reboot normally and you will have root .
If any part was misunderstood, sorry, I'm not very good at English ;-;

at the moment this is the only way
so that the imei is not lost, then a custom kernel should be made, since the problem is that the ramdisk of the boot.img of the 32 version is in a different format than the one used by magisk

great news - will be great when we can restore backups.
I just fastbooted boot to see if it did - and up jumped TWRP. I think I will wait until restoring comes out, unless it would be helpful to report any other issues - but think others would be way ahead of me.
Working for me. I did a backup and it seemed to work. Will not attempt to restore. Thanks.
Willing to test anything. Hit me up if you need a brain to pick. I helped get TWRP working on the OP6T
Thank you Billaids
this works for Nord N10 5G but it lacks touchscreen support, but you can still use the mouse if you have the right adapter. Although now you can't sideload because even if you unplug THAT it still prolly wants the other device instead.
nice work, i got mine carrier unlocked at best buy, will give it a go in the morning and see how things work
Nice job, but i willn't use it bcz backup restore feature is one of main recovery features wich don't works (for now).

Why don't you try "install"?

Tried that already. Gives me a bunch of loop device errors.

Bricked my Phone (Mi 11T)

I installed a bad magisk module and now my phone doesn't boot.
I flashed the original boot.img to remove magisk - didn't help.
I tried "adb wait-for-device shell magisk -remove-modules" but it doesn't do anything even though I am pretty sure I have USB debugging enabled.
The problem that There is no TWRP for my phone (only for android 11 but I am on android 12).
What can I even do now?
I REALLY don't want to format (and ofc don't want to be without a phone for longer than I absolutely have to)
I am forever grateful for anyone who can help me!
I can provide any Info y'all need
PS: I contacted the TWRP dev if he can update it to android 12.
I think magisk modules are located at: /data/adb/modules
So you could run "adb shell" command while in fastboot mode.
After that execute command "rm -rf /data/adb/modules"
If you want to delete specific module run same command just with folder name of module.

you cant use adb in fastboot mode though
Hi,
I`m a Poco F3 user, you could try RUN_TWRP-Orange Fox FIXED.bat Temporary Recovery, you run this via FASTBOOT, Start from instruction 6.
you have a choice between TWRP & Orangefox,
just replace the .img file (twrp.img) with the correct one needed for your phone
and choose 1 TWRP.

You could try with TWRP's file manager, but since you're on Android 12 the /data folder will probably be empty. Try that command I sent you, but while booting up the phone.
I had exactely the same problem after updating a magisk module, which module made this problem?
Are you on official Magisk or on Magisk alterantive like delta?
