How to partition internal storage on realme x2 pro/ any android - Realme X2 Pro Questions & Answers

I have realme x2 pro with 256 Gb internal storage. I want to know how can I partition this into two partitions (one acts as normal internal storage and another as a backup storage space). So, in the future, if I need to completely flash my phone, the backup storage won't be erased.

External SD...? The internal storage is a part of your /data partition. What is your solution for that? A "own" partition leads to a conflict because your system won't recognize it. Only "divide" the internal storage into two parts means it still remains to /data. So yout backup section also will be erased.

Original INTERNAL STORAGE partitions

Dear ALL,
I have problem in restoring original partitions on my DIAMOND.
I've tried ANDROID (still pretty slow) on EXT2 partiton created on Internal Storage, but i want to restore original partitions.
I thought that there was only 1 FAT32 partition for all the storage so I did that, but when i did so i'm unable to flash ROMS from Internal Storage. It says "No ROM file!" and trigers USB flashing.
Could some one please explore your dimond in partitioning tool and paste screenshots with original info (number of partitions, type of partitons, filesystem)?
Thank you

[Q] Unsplit Internal SD - LG P990

--------------------------------------
Problem: If i watch my internal storage, i see it splits i got a;
- internal storage; 1,5 gb / 1,25gb
- Extra storage: 5,5 gb / 5,5 gb ( .mnt/emmc )
how can i unsplit my internal sd card to just make it look like this: internal storage; 7gb - 6,75gb
I see also i can delete / ungear my ( /mnt/emmc ) but i think i wil loose it if i will do that.
i hope you can help me! thanks!:good:
it might be possible by using a partition layout similar to what phones that come with JB use, but I don't think its a good idea.
you would have to re-partition your internal storage which would wipe your user data, files on internal storage, and installed rom.
but there's a good chance any rom you install will have no idea how to handle that partition layout because they are built for the stock layout, and if it does work the gain in storage space is negligible.
so in short: more work than its worth.
it would be possible with some NVflash hacking, but the point is those 1.5 GB are the /data/ partition, where all your apps are installed, and the rest is the internal SD card where you can store music, pictures etc on.
It neither makes sense to allocate it all to internal storage (since you wouldnt have any space for apps) nor to allocate it all for apps, because you will never fill 7GB just with apps, sicne all the big data chunks are moved to the external SD card (or the internal SD card partition) anyway.
So unless you are running into some serious space problems, I suggest you keep everything as is

Internal USB drive partition removal?

has anyone managed to remove the internal partion and make the internal storage a single capacity amount with is single system partition rather than have that 5.7gig space as a usb partition?

[Q] Half of internal memory missing

So I bricked my phone and ended up having to FXZ to the OTA JB update. Once I did I found that the internal memory just isnt there. There is still 4GB for the apps but no storage and backup will not work because it can not find internal storage. It also will not show up on my computer like normal. How do I get it to show back up?
thecodydavis was able to format his internal storage, after so many reboots, the phone ask him to reformat the storage space. And I believe reformat it will lose all the data in the storage, but you will have internal storage back.

I have the same problem except I need to recover the data. I am still trying to make an image of /dev/block/mmcblk1p26 (storage memory block) and hopefully data recovery tool works on the image.
Thanks! Pretty much what happened! Problem solved!

Check apps2sd https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=in.co.pricealert.apps2sd&hl=fi
You can link(move) apps to sd-card with it. You just need to partition your sdcard to FAT32(this partition will work like normal sd-card) and to ext4(this partition will be where apps are linked) partition.
Remember to backup sd-card to somewhere before partitioning.
Fat32 I understand but how I can formate to ext4?
