No WiFi, No network, No SIM card + reboots, EFS/Modem partitions likely corrupted - Sony Xperia XZ3 Questions & Answers

Hi guys,
I have my XZ3 which stopped recognizing my SIM card after an update. WiFi was still working at the time, but the phone was rebooting very frequently (every hour, couple of hours) with or without a SIM card inserted.
I went ahead and reflashed the latest firmware for my region with flashtool and unfortunately now WiFi doesn't work anymore and the phone reboots every 5 minutes (I guess after timing out on the WiFi driver missing or corrupted).
I tried to use software repair with Xperia companion but no difference.
I managed to get my radios working again once after flashing a modem/modemst1/modemst2 from a different firmware version, but unfortunately after a little while it rebooted and for some reason the phone got back to not recognizing my sim card/wifi again.
I have my bootloader locked and for some reason, reflashing modem/modemst1/modemst2 doesn't seem to work anymore (it's like it's not flashed at all, even though flashtool and newflasher seems OK).
Everything leads me to think that my EFS partitions are getting corrupted after a while, but what would be corrupting them? What is remaining on the phone that would corrupt them when I wipe and flash all the partitions with flashtool?
Since my bootloader is locked I can't erase modemst1 and modemst2 partitions as advised in here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/guide-efs-partitions-how-to-lost-t3307793
Could anyone advise on to repair this issue please?
Thanks.

Why not just take it to Sony? It should be under warranty.

[Q] Sim Card Locked to I9000XXJPC

I9000XXJPC has become a major headache, and now the sim card won't work with other firmware. The first time I updated via Kies, everything was fine for a little while. After realising it's buggy, I went back to JG4 and renamed nv_data.bin etc..
The second time I installed JPC for a bit of a play around was via Odin, and that went fine, but still buggy firmare. This time when I went back to JG4, the sim card doesn't work properly. It asks for the PIN, sits on "Unlocking Sim Card" for a bit, then asks for the PIN again, saying it's incorrect. After entering the correct pin another 2 or 3 times, TWlauncher appears, but there is no service.
Odin didn't make a backup of nv_data.bin, but I had made a copy myself just in case. Restoring this does allow Kies to see the proper product code, but makes no difference with the sim card.
Is there anything at all I can try? It seems as though flashing JPC via Odin has altered more than just the /efs directory, but I don't know what. It might also be possible that anyone else on JPC will discover the same if they go back to 2.1, but I hope it hasn't done too much damage. I tried another sim card from another network and it's the exact same situation (works only with JPC).
To anyone who hasn't tried I9000XXJPC, don't! It's not worth the hassle.
Basically, sim cards now only works with JPC..what can I do? I have 3-button recovery, so can try just about anything if need be.

Thanks, I read and tried so much but somehow missed that. At least it's a known problem thanks.
Edit: I thought it had something to do with the dates of the files. hmmm now I'm stuck.

[Q] Lost network & relocked BL?

Hello,
I've a weird problem with my Xperia SP. Today i wanted to get back to rom based on stock rom to get miracast feature.
I downloaded newest existenz rom and williams kernel for stock based roms. Installation went fine system booted ok and everything worked fine. After some time phone turned off and didn't wanted to start. Only flashmode worked. I've decided to download stock .205 CE1 rom and flash it.
It booted up, sim card was recognized(had to write PIN). After that network was not found. Signal with red "X". I've tried to manually register to network but i could not.
Next thing is that after flashing stock rom fastboot mode stopped working. Service menu shows that Bootloader can not be unlocked even that it was unlocked before and flashtool(BLU option) shows that it is still unlocked. Flashtool also shows Bootloader: NOT_ROOTABLE.
I have actually no idea what have happend. Now i'm installing stock rom using Sony PC Companion but i think this wont help for network problem.
My main network is PLUS GSM(Poland network).
Could sim card die? It is old type card (almost 10 years) and i had to cut it manually to fit micro sim for the phone.

Use flashtool to flash stock firmware by ftf file. Here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2311964
Use an older one and if that does not work, try one or two more. Hopefully, that will help. Best of luck!

Does it matter which country is it for? I can try some of them but i think that won't help. I've checked other sim card and it was recognized but didn't even ask me for pin. Weird Oo.
If nothing helps i will just flash stock firmware with SEUS and let sony service take care of it, hopefully. Phone still has guarantee.

Regions perhaps. But the thing that does not make sense it that that why did it work before and not now? It should work. Anyway, my SIM was mini too. I, too, had to cut it. It works. Or possibly contact your service provider maybe something is wrong with the SIM. They might have have locked it or something?

If none sim card works on phone then it is IMEI problem or phone itself somehow. I'm trying to flash other roms now. Hopefully it will help if not then sending to service.

I've reflashed stock rom using SEUS and sended phone to sony service. Hopefully they can help. Be careful with Williams Kernel for stock roms. This may be a common bug.
For anyone who had the same problem. Sony exchanged my whole phone with information that mainboard was broken. They said that phone could not be fixed.
Good luck
PS. Topic can be closed i think.

Need a solution from experts..

i have Z3 compact (D5803).
i have used it for a long time.
After installing "D5803_2157_Concept_6.ftf" via flashtool, my z3c lost network.
i have tried tons of methods:
i have flashed "D5803_4.4.4_23.0.A.2.93_TR.ftf", and rooted.
i have flashed "D5803_23.4.A.1.264_1289-4791_R2C.ftf" and rooted.
i have repaired the firmware via Sony PC Companion 2.1
i have repaired the firmware via Xperia Companion
i have tried installing twrp, when i try to install any custom rom, i get an error like this: "this rom is for d5803, d5833 etc etc... but you phone is differen"
i have tried this: http://firmwaremobiletools.blogspot.com.tr/2015/11/how-to-remove-pattern-lock-from-all.html
i have tried this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/general/guide-unlock-z3c-international-bands-t3091344
So i can flash any ftf without any problem.
But i can not install anything via twrp. (although i can install twrp)
i can root roms without any problem.
But phone can not connect to network..
it always says "invalid card. emergeny calls only"
- there is no IMEI problem..
Anyne have any solution for my problem?
Thanks...
- i have attached screenshots of *#*#service#*#* and *#*#info#*#*
Any help?

Have you tried cleaning the sim card?
Do you have a different sim card from another phone you can try?
There is also a hardware reset button next to the sim, have you tried that?
I looks like there is some sort of corruption in a system volume, looking at the error states listed.
What was the results from using PC companion to fix? any error messages?
Did you restore your TA partition? That would have been damaged in the flash to 6 concept.
Have you tried finding the right firmware for your country/provider via Xperiafirm, download it, make a tft from the file, then you know you have the correct baseband flashed.
Don't know what else to try, sorry.
Hello, thanks for the answer..
My z3c lost network, after installing "D5803_2157_Concept_6.ftf" via flashtool
I have tried cleaning the sim card.
I have tried different sim cards.
I have tried hardware reset button next to the sim.
After PC Companion, there was no error message.
I have tried all different ftf files for my country. (4.4 - 5.1 - 6.0 etc..)
No solution
it always says "invalid card. emergeny calls only"
Put a stock rom back on and send it back to Sony for repair

No SIM / No WIFI: qcn/xqcn files needed to restore IMEI/MAC

Hello All,
November update... It took a whole time to get my phone booting again but I don't have SIM or WIFI anymore.
I think my IMEI's are gone, even as MAC for WIFI.
I tried recovery image (that's what solved the boot problem).
I took backups but some parts seems to be corrupted so I can't recover from there.
Does someone have the (x)qcn available for flashing over QPST (or even over TWRP to change afterwards over QPST)?
I found different versions online but I think it's checked against model number; mine is: M1804D2SG (SI doesn't work)
Yes... I will change your IMEI!
Thanks!

Did you try to flash older build of stock rom?
Flash via MiFlash Tool, that worked for me
MiFlash tried,
I tried most recent version that was available, but yes that's an older version.
The corrupted data isn't even in the recovery rom.

Does not work unfortunately, just tried. In that topic it's more about sensors etc. not working.
Try flashing global firmware via twrp.

How may I help you? Give me instructions. Also specifically tell me how to remove my original Imei in that file. I'll then upload the files.

Xperia Z C6603 problems with SIM Card :(

Sometime ago, I used Xperia Flashtool to flash a DE variant of Kitkat for our Xperia Z, but after that flash my phone don't recognize anymore the Sim Card!
It's possible that I've wiped something important? I tried Xperia Companionto restore the stock firmware but the SIM doesn't work anymore.
Have you any ideas of what may gone wrong?
Also the battery may be done, because when it reaches 0% level, when booted up requires to "optimize" apps and that takes about 5minutes/10minutes
Thankx you
It SIM-Locked, you'll need to unlock it over at your carrier. Flashing doesn't lock SIM, it just means it had a tripped firmware.

Previously it had the Central Europe firmware, or maybe Italy's one if it had that. I used my Sim on it before the flashing :/ Now if I put the SIM into it, it reboots because it detects, but when rebooted, no sign of life
Try flashing original firmware ?

I just restore the firmware with Xperia Companion (10.7.A.228.R1E) but I plug into the Sim, it reboots and then it says no SIM inserted, it only reboots if you plug or unplug it
Wifi and NFC works good.

Oh I discovered, it is no the firmware, it's due to Sony's crappy sim tray little piece of plastic, that needs to be changed
I return on this topic because it's still not resolved.
Maybe it's the SIM card slot broken or pins. But the strange thing is that the phone correctly see that I put an actual SIMcard inside it. It reboots and then says just "No Card Inserted".
I've a c6603 Customized IT device, that was for years stuck on A4.4.4 because it didn't received Lollipop via OTA.
Anyway the phone works for everything except for vibrations and SIM support so calls, data etc...
I'am sad for this, I wanted to try A12 for this, it came out with even May 22 security patches!
