Waiting for 10 - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Questions & Answers

So I guess us US Note 9 variant holders are the last ones waiting for the Android 10 update at this point huh?

Looks that way. I haven't got an update on my At&t Note 9 since October

I never even got the beta nor had a chance to register for it honestly. But the last update I got on AT&T was in November. Been dry since then, not even a December security patch

I have unlocked on AT&T, I have December's update. Nothing on 10, not sure if I will go for it either. I am perfectly happy with how my note works now.

Here ya go
Sent from my Samsung SM-N960U1 using XDA Labs

Nope, i'm from Romania and still have not received the update yet either.

New Zealand models haven't received anything since December. Oh, but don't misunderstand... the only update we received in December was actually just the November security patch.

Brazil here and yet on december update.
Unfortunately the N9600 was completely forgotten by Samsung. No beta, no update, nothing.

I'm not going to lie I hate saying that it's apparently not just note 9 owners in the US. Seems to be rolling out to the rest of the world but kind of slow but no one stateside has gotten it. Not even a beta

KitKat 4.4.3 Rollout Prediction Thread

Like the title states... when do you predict 4.4.3 to roll out for the N5?
I'll go with February 22, 2014
Is it even out
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
lol, seriously?
i predict that it will absolutely be out between feb 6th and dec 31st, 2014
Between now and the end of time.
It should be out tomorrow according to the tweet "Apple" just released.

IMO there won't be a 4.4.3. 4.4 came out and 4.4.1 & 4.4.2 were just bug fix versions really.
4.5 is the next version we will see, and then possibly 4.5.1+ if there needs to be a bug fix update.
When will 4.5 come out? Anyone's guess really. It's like asking when is the next time you are going to come down with a cold. No one knows!
Really, Why even bother with a post like this!!!

A new version of android from google usually appears when they release another flagship device, it looks to be that perhaps the Nexus 10 will debut the new version of android or perhaps Nexus 5 will go first
Wrong, they presented and released Jelly Bean 4.3 before the presentation of the Nexus 7 2013.
BTW, Android 4.5 will surely come out in June/July with the Google I|O.
About 4.4.3 (?), Nexus 7 2014, Nexus 8, Nexus 10... boh...

GWR Wi-Fi Update/ Android Wear Update

Has anyone else had any new news regarding the info from this article? http://phandroid.com/2015/07/12/exclusive-android-wear-interactive-watch-faces/
I mean, its pretty obvious nothing is coming out this week, but maybe someone has heard about another release date?
Maybe it depends on how the Urbane sales are going. If they are slow we might have to wait even longer for the update so they can carry on pushing it as the only LG watch with WiFi!!!!!

That is true, however they explained this in May so that people won't get confused:
“LG Watch Urbane is the only wearable device Currently shipping with the latest version of Android Wear OS and is Wi-Fi capable out of the box. The original LG G Watch was not designed with Wi-Fi in mind and will not have this capability even after the Android Wear update. LG G Watch R will require a maintenance release after the patch update to Android Wear-access Wi-Fi networks. LG engineers are preparing the patch now for availability in the third quarter.”

I'm gonna wait myself. I don't rush updates anymore. I have found the old adage "be careful what you ask for" to be spot on with it comes to Android updates over the past year or so.
We have lift-off. Taken from the Reddit thread

Just got my OTA notification. Installing now. Yay!
Just got an OTA - I was surprised to find a WiFi section in the settings menu. Should be working fine, I haven't tested it yet. Build number is LCA44B.
Still nothing in northern California.
Already got 2 hours ago and found this new feature.

sm-n9200 Note5 Duos - android nougat

Hi,
I bought a Note5 (SM-N9200 Duos) in Hong Kong. I live in Belgium. I am using 2 providers (Telenet Belgium and KPN The Netherlands). When will I get the Android update to Nougat 7? Will this come OTA?
I am also waiting for that (SM-N9200 on 2x T-Mobile NL).. The SM-N9200 will probably be one of the last ones to receive Nougat OTA due to its slightly different technology (it's the only Note5 that is a true world phone with 1 CDMA and 17(!) LTE bands

Thanks again. I did not root or put in an alternative bootloader... I'm especially wondering how and if it will work. I am not living in Hong Kong and I am not travelling that way for the nex half year... And in Belgium, I'm one of the very few to own a Note5....

if your Note 5 model is SM-9200 then you should have received it a few months ago
Grace UX are the extensions to Android 6.0.1 that were added after the debacle of the exploding Note7.. They came with I believe the October or November updates and contained some of the Nougat enhancements.. If you have the
current N9200ZHU3CQD2 release then you are fully up to date..

Take this with a pinch of salt. From my experiences, Hong Kong representatives of giant tech companies do not really have a clue of what's happening within their organisation.
Indeed.. I spoke to Samsung representatives that did not even know that Marshmallow was out for Note5

For anyone that owns a US BLA-A09 etc. I emailed a US Huawei support member regarding GPU turbo for the U.S. they responded me with a "I can't confirm or deny your country will be receiving this update" comment. It was really sad with how shady they are being. My money is on no GPU turbo for the U.S.
most of the updates are delayed most of the time because the huawei approvals for installation process, I've just got the update today morning a few minutes ago actually, im just waiting to make some testing w/o it and see the phone performance to see if there is a real improvement, update its just 340 mb so it seems like no much added besides the GPU Update
My Mate 10's version is ALP-L09, but it still did not get GPU turbo... Anyone using ALP-L09 Version? Did you get it? I also did not get face unlock yet.. :/
I've got the Mate 10 ALP-L29, still no GPU turbo update, and on July security patches, even though FF says that it's approved for my device, no update can be found using the phone app, or even HiSuite.

well don't know about 960N but on my 960F so far its almost same as 2.0. only few new feature updates and the new deep sleep feature. all apps works well. no issue with secure folder aswell. so far i don't feel any battery improvements tho! im thinking of during factory reset and do a fresh start to see if that improves anything.
I just update my N960N to the latest version of Android 10 with OneUI 2.1 and so far it seems to have fixed some of the issues I had with the first release of Android 10 for the Note 9. Not sure about the Secure Folder as I have yet to test that.
