FIX for Quad DAC reset bug on AOSP - LG V30 Themes, Apps, and Mods

I think I've found a fix for the quad dac disengaging when listening to music in LOS
You still need to toogle off and then on the first time, but when you pause music it should not reset itself anymore
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.phascinate.lgv10.dacfix
Try installing this and reporting back if it works for you (its for the v10 but works for the v30 as well)
Edit: also report back on battery drain (if any)

This worked for me, now I just need to find a way to automatically toggle it when I plug my headphones in

[Q] Question about linking volumes jellybean, streak 7

Hello everyone,
I have a question, and possibly an answer to that question with regards to my Dell Streak 7.
At present I am running AOKP 4.2 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2413390) on my dell streak 7, this followed from an upgrade to CM10.1 where some performance problems have since been resolved (AOKP 4.2, Op Killjoy, memory manager, greenify). However there has been one downside to this upgrade. I have a WIFI only Dell streak 7. CM 10.1 was available in a WIFI only version which allowed for control of media\system volume through the hardware buttons. AOKP 4.2 was only available in a 3g package and subsequently the hardware volume buttons are now linked to ringer volume which serves no purpose. Following a search for solutions I came up with this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2049052) while this thread discusses unlinking system and ringer volume I feel that I could use this technique in an equal and opposite way to link the media volume to the ringer volume to regain control of the hardware buttons, is this a viable option? I think so but I'd like to verify. Unless of course there is a way to outright relink the hardware buttons to to just media\system volume, or if it would be easier to rebuild AOKP 4.2 to a WIFI Only version. Did attempt using the buttonremapper.apk available here to no avail.
Only other problem I am having is the headphone port isn't working which is rather unfortunate, but I think that has to do with the sensors not working yet in these builds, from what I have found there isn't a solution available yet, unless I am mistaken?
I really appreciate the help, thank you.
Sensors work, if you flash the update from the correct thread.
Headphones worked for me.
Sometime soon, I plan on writing up a a streak7-common and then splitting into a streak7-4g and streak7-wifi

Alright, perhaps I fiddled up something with the sound settings, I'll investigate, everything flashed correctly. And with respect to sensors I should have clarified, rotation, and all other sensors work, just not headphone sensing or headphone output. I'll update later if I make any progress. Would really appreciate a streak-7-wifi build, you've done some fantastic work with the present build, best the tablet has ever ran. Thank you Giveen.
EDIT: Ok, so the sensors all work, media programs pause when removing headphones from the headphone port, however all audio still plays through the primary speakers. And still working on the volume linking.
Bizarre behavior
- - UPDATE - -
Followed abex181 guide for unlinking (or linking rather, binding ring\media\system volume)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2049052
Pushed the framework.jar back to tablet using technique provided by jivy26
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1296802
Rebooted....
Android optimized itself...
And it worked, I have regained control of the hardware buttons for changing volume before opening a program. It should be noted it previously and currently operates that once opening an app hardware buttons control media instead of phone volume, icon changes.
What is weirder? I plug in the headphones (guess its considered a headset rather, headphones that came with the tablet) and they worked.
That was until I unplugged them. I plug them back in again and its back to speaker only.
I tried pushing framework.jar again and rebooted, this time it didn't optimize, and the headphones still don't work again.
I'm scratching my head here.
All is one
SOLVED:
Got headphone port to work properly.
It was the 'headset' that came with the tablet causing the problems, what I originally referred to as my 'headphones', they didn't work and after attempting to use them it threw the tablet into a mode...
.. a mood? ...
which would fail to recognize any other connector ie. the normal 3 ring 3.5mm jack (opposed to the 4 ring 3.5mm jack of the headset).
Today tried rebooting with my other headphones connected, works, disconnected and reconnected, works, disconnected put to sleep, woken up and reconnected, all works, mystery solved. Unfortunate though, I did really like that headset that came with it. Oh well, while less convenient my Sennheiser HD's fit the bill just fine
Still enjoying the linking I worked out. Though I do think there is a better way but its beyond my ability, I think it would be better to just link the hardware buttons directly the media\system volume instead of linking the ringer volume to the media\system. I would believe that however minor the streak is wasting precious cycles switching between ringer and media when launching applications for having just a streak-7-wifi.
Anyway, cheers! Thanks again giveen, abex181, and jivy26.
Feel free to close thread.

[Q] About Safe Headset Volume Warning in Lollipop

Hey guys, I'm having this bug with Safe Headset Volume Warning.
Now I'm on Titan Prime Rom on Lollipop 5.0.2.
Each time I do a clean install, the first time I use a music player with my headphones (playing music on N7Player) I get the Safe Headset Warning. It asks me if I want to override the Safe Headset Setting. I press cancel, and it's gone forever. You can't make it appear anymore. It doesn't even work, because the headphones go up to the maximum volume.
I need the Safe Headset Volume warning because it's very important to me. I have tinnitus and it's essential so I can't screw my ears more than they are now.
I searched and searched didn't see anywhere on the net something related to this bug in Lollipop.
I tried making it appear with KK GravityBox, but unsurprisingly won't work
Can anyone help me with this?
The Safe Headset is just a warning that appears when you try to get above 80% volume while wearing a headset. It does not do anything else. So you can just drop the volume to 80% or less if you have problems and you will be ok.

In kitkat, when you had the phone asleep (screen off) you couldn't maximize the volume past the tolerable limit even if using the volume buttons.
Now I can use them to maximize the volume even while screen is off or on, and I get to the max of the possible output. I don't know what it's the problem but in past iterations of Android this wouldn't occur.
*BUMP*
Finally someone with the same problem. On Kitkat the warning was my safe to go headphone volume. Even when I disabled it, the next day it came back and everything was fine.
After updating to 5.0 it came up but disappeard after another vol+ click.
Please let there be a fix to get it back and don't allow to disable it with screen off!!

Oh, I was starting to think I was the only one with this problem.
Weird thing is I don't see this bug anywhere posted in the net.
What ROM are you using?
I'll link this thread to the official Titan Prime ROM too.
Same problem, i'm on stock btw. It gave the warning, i pressed vol+ again and it was gone forever. Like WTF? Why need a warning when you can just press vol+ and it's gone. I really need it back
I installed Gravity Box for Lollipop and checked Safe Headset Volume but it still doesn't work. Can you try it yourself?

I don't know if it works on Lollipop as well, but you can try using Viper4Android (advanced audio tweaking app), and reduce output gain. I know this is not a fix, but it's the best I can come up with.

[Q] Sound gaps while BT streaming to car audio.

Hi, I Have strange problem with my brand new Xperia Z3 Compact. I streams my music from Z3C to my Pioneer MVH-X360BT car audio. Every few minutes there is a gap in stream that lasts for maybe half a second. That's very annoying! Music is still playing during this gap but I can't hear it. I had similar problem with Xperia Z1 but I thought it was some problem in old Android and some bug in BT driver. Then I've had iPhone 5s and it worked like a charm! No gaps, no problems with BT. Now I've returned to Android and I'm starting to regret this :/
I've checked everything I could. I've turned on BT visibility, turned off Wi-Fi, checked if no notifications couse this. I've even flash clean stock firmware (originally phone came with branded firmware). Nothing. I've tested many players (Walkman, Power Amp, Player Pro, Double Twist etc). Nothing. I though that maybe problem is in my SD card (I store my music on external card), but: 1) it's very fast card 2) copying music to internal storage didn't change anything. Sound still has gaps. I don't now what to do I'm sure that my car audio is ok (iPhone works), today I've tested SGS5 with it and it worked well too. Problem is only with Xperia family (reminder: same problem on Xperia Z and Xperia Z3 Compact).
Any clues? I hate changing my phone again and I love battery life on Z3C (main reason I left iPhone).
Please help!

I have BT headphones and I am not experiencing those issues at all. Could it be that your phone goes into some kind of sleep mode and then wakes up again? Try with some app that keeps your phone constanly awake/screen on. Does the issue persist? Can you try out any other BT audio devices and report if the same problem exists?

Huh, I've turned off the 'Queue data in background' (I have polish locale and I don't know how this option is in english so I translated it literally) option in power management settings. Nothing has changed Also nothing has changed while I was driving car with Google Maps navigation (or Waze) turned on. Still gaps were present.
Unfortunately I don't have any other device that I could test my phone with Only other phones (and all phones works great).
I think I have to change Z3C to another phone, maybe SGS5 (but I don't like Samsung...)
Ehh, tough one

Hi there, I'm facing the EXACT same problem with a few minor differences in the setup:
I'm connected via cable to a philips CEM210. This so called "gap" usually happens when I skip a track(or when the next track comes on automatically).
I have recently purchased the kinivo btc455 and will let you know tomorrow if the issue persists on the BT device.
I actually think 2mal might be on to something here I use stamina mode regularly and I have rooted my device and change tracks via the volume keys.
So the issue might be the phone wakes up periodically (skip track? check notification queue?)

I have all power safe options turned off. Notification queue is empty. I have this problem only via BT. When listening with phone connected to radio by USB, everything is ok.

Try this app while you listen to music over BT : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.synetics.stay.alive
Still gaps?
Also I have Viper4android installed, dont think this would make a difference since it also worked before but its worth a try.
Get the apk from here and follow the instructions : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191223
I assume your device is rooted as it only works on such.
Speaking of weird bluetooth bugs, my music has been playing in fast-forward occasionally (cm12). I have no idea why this happens or how to fix it, so if anyone has any ideas I'd greatly appreciate it.

Stay Alive didn't help. There are still gaps once for a audio track.
My device isn't rooted so Viper is not an option :/
Thank you, though

Hmm , last idea , try turning the timeout for visibility option in the bluetooth menu (in the right corner on the bottom when bt is turned on) to no timeout.

Jeah too bad i could not help, what you could try is go to a store and ask them whether you could try out some BT headphones, with the pretext of buying them ofc . If the issue is still present then it may be hardware related and an exchange unit could work just fine. Otherwise it points to some incompatibility issue that could maybe fixed somehow but not by me and my current expertise . Especially since i am not experiencing the same. Wish you the best and good luck !
I use a Bluetooth headset (mw600). Started with a nokia n900 and it had frequent gaps, probably due to wifi/interference. With the Z3C started with no gaps but now get few most likely when it leaves any wifi connection (hotspots).
Since you have tried all options on the phone side, it seems to be an issue with the particular car stereo. How about you reset the stereo by removing all power sources to it then pair the phone as a fresh new device and check if issue continues?
I have a similar issue. It seems like a head unit problem for me. Many problems there are with Pioneerer Head Units. Please don't buy this brand...
Have same problem with my Z3 and pioneer car sound.... No issues when i used samsung devices... Now i have a Z3 and the sound fails all the time....
I have 2 headsets bluetooth and i dont have any trouble....
The problem is between sony devices and pioneer!!!
Help!!!
This is not just between Sony and Pioneer. I have a Cardo Scala G9 BT headset for motorcycles, and never had a problem with my Nokia 808 for music streaming, nor my Nokia X2 DS (strictly used for GPS, no SIM).
Now that I bought my Z3C, I have this random gaps of silence while streaming music. Extremely annoying. Even after rebooting the phone, no resolution. Thought maybe there are some bugs with 5.1.1, so I went ahead and updated the firmware on my G9 from 1.6 to 2.1. Still same issue.
Another issue I found with the Z3C: When music streaming is playing, and I get a text message or a new email, the music volume lowers, but no notification sound comes through, before the music volume resumes. On my other phones, when I get a text message, the music volume goes down, and I hear the audio for new text, email, or whatever.
It is extremely annoying. Anybody know how to resolve first and second problem I listed?
Not a Sony issue. Had this with an lg g3 on a kenwood car stereo and the same with the z3c. Seems to be an android issue, as it didn't happen with ios. I am not 100% sure, but I think it only started with lollipop, because I had an htc one m7 before the lg and I don't remember ever having this before...
Yeah, I am inclined to agree with you.
With my Acura, the music has zero gaps. But when I am on a hands free call, I get the gaps! So it must be something buggy with how Android handles one of the BT channels. It is extremely annoying. And on the hands free calls, when the gap happens, my telephony audio goes to the phone. And when I try to switch it to BT mode, nothing, until the gap ends. Then I can switch back to BT mode. This is extremely frustrating.
Bump. I've been having this problem for months. I had it in KitKat too and it happens with any Bluetooth device. It always happens in specific parts in my route (place I go to often), even though I may have never connected to WiFi there or WiFi is off. Could it have something to do with GPS activity?
Any solution for this strange problem?
xperts help please!!!

Hello everyone!
I also have exact same problem with my Z3C and... Sony's MEX-N5100BT, there's a couple miliseconds gap while the music is playing. The best part is that while I'm talking through the radio's built-in BT Phone, the audio never has this gap... or I haven't heard that since I'm using this radio.
But you know what? This happens so rarely that I just ignored it and got used to it and I recommend you to do the same

[Q] Audio Playback

Hello everyone, I don't know if my problem is unique or not but I am having serious issues with music on my Moto G XT1068. After the screen is closed the music abruptly stops and then starts after a while or doesn't start at all. Its worth noting that during this brief time all other sound effects like key tones and vibration also stop. Any solutions ?

1. check if the music app has a take wakelock feature and enable it.
2. install better battery stats and look if yo find an alarm/wakelock called audiomix, this alarm is neccesarry for audio playback
3. reflash rom?
Seems like the audio drivers are corrupted. At that point I would just clean flash the ROM. But first try to do a dirty flash of your current ROM so the same drivers get installed once again, with no data wiping. If that does not work, I would just clean flash.
Its stock version

Lots of issues with Z3. Media audio, fast charging, etc. Help!!!

Stock Z3 running Android 9
Issue #1 the power button is very unresponsive.
Issue #2 No option to wipe cache partition. Is there another way to do this because the option isn't in the recovery menu on this phone.
Issues #3 & 4 - This is weird. I was listening to YT Music using bluetooth yesterday and the music randomly stopped. I didn't pay much attention to it at the time but later realized that none of the media audio was working. I turned off BT, tried different apps, force closed all running apps, checked all audio settings, and still nothing. The front speaker still works because it will play ringtones. I rebooted, reset app permissions, cleared cache on all running apps. Moto Mod speakers will not play media audio either. Also, noticed that the phone will no longer fast charge either. This is the first time this has happened so I'm thinking it's somehow related. I tried multiple chargers and cables and it charged extremely slow, so slow that the battery percentage would not go up while plugged in with the screen on. I didn't get it wet or anything unusual. This morning, I reconnected my BT speaker and audio still plays but still no sound at all on the phone or Mods.
The audio issue is probably the most important for me to fix. I can live with the rest. Anyone have any suggestions or similar problems?

Have you tried a factory reset on the device cause it could have a bad file somewhere in the firmware
