Even on Alieezpress is couple of version. Some described as global but in spec is not band 20
So confused now. Is anybody got 128Gb from alieezpress with Band 20 pls.
Sent from my BLA-L09 using Tapatalk

Official 128GB Asus Rog phone 2 does not come with band 20. Only band 18. If you want band 20 you have to buy the 512GB one.
If you mean band support for tencent version 128GB then it won't support band 20. But there is a global 128GB version for international countries that one has band 20.
You can see picture bellow.

On spec is six prism box.
This means this one should be with Band 20??

The Strix edition comes in the prism box too, so that Aliexpress item would most likely be that looking at the price. I've seen conflicting reports from different shops of whether the strix edition supports band 20, but on the ASUS eshop it's not listed so it most likely won't have it unfortunately.

I bought my 128gig from Asus direct. Came in prism box. Assumed it covered all bands, perhaps it doesn't then, which is why my 4g at work is no good?
Is there any way to confirm?
Website says
FDD-LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, 26, 28, 29, 32, 66)
TD-LTE (Bands 34, 38, 39, 40, 41, 46)
So guess I'm good

On the Swedish Asus eshop it says:
FDD-LTE (band 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 28)
TD-LTE (band 34, 38, 39, 40, 41)
So I have no idea what's accurate. I sent them a message about it, but haven't heard back yet.
If you're rooted you can use the Network signal guru app to check what bands the hardware supports. I'm not aware of any way to check this without root though. Maybe it's listed on the box?

You can install app "Net monster" and check what band is connected actually.
Sent from my BLA-L09 using Tapatalk

I've not seen me connected to band 20 yet, I'll have to keep any eye out

Depends what network are You using. UK??
Sent from my BLA-L09 using Tapatalk

Sorry, I'm UK on vodafone

I'm UK Vodafone as well. Already returned Tencent version because everwhere outside big towns Vodafone using only 800 MHz. Over 90% of time was only H+
With this app "Netmonster" outside the city You can check band 20 (800)
Sent from my BLA-L09 using Tapatalk

Today I noticed I was on band 7 when out and about.
I need to check at work outside what band it is, but I can't get it inside the building. My old phone and everyone else gets 4g, I get H+

So wird. Looks like Your phone don't have B20 what in Vodafone is nightmare. In phone with B20 LTE coverage is on about 99% places even inside buildings. Definitely You need contact with Asus to find what's going on. Direct from Asus should be full working in all UK networks.
On back of phone You got Tencent Games or Republic of Gamers??
Sent from my BLA-L09 using Tapatalk

Republic of gamers.
The building I'm in isn't great for 4g, only Vodafone and O2 work in here. You'd think EE would, but it doesn't.
But based in the fact other people on vodafone do, and my old Sony did, I would have thought mine would!
I just put it down to they spent too much time on making the WiFi good, they forgot 4g!
Thought about getting a new SIM card, as read that can help?
---------- Post added at 09:21 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:15 AM ----------
Just went outside, 4g+ band 1 - towers right by us.
Inside H+ on a tower much further away!?
Doesn't make sense

Yeah, the North American version will work on the four major in the U.S. with full LTE support.
Carriers will likely still lock the device (except Verizon which keeps their phones GSM unlocked)

Oh no I'm sure AT&T and the like will lock theirs but will the one sold by Google and Moto be fully unlocked and able to be used on all major carriers including sprints? [emoji39][emoji39]
when you say "global model" is that in a sense like a Nexus phone can be bought from any shelf and have any sim inserted into it and work?

Yep. It'll have the bands.
T-Mobile will likely remain unlocked, they have in the past with the N4 and the N5, I do not see any reason why they would start doing things differently for the N6.

There are 2 versions of the Nexus 5. One that Works on most of the carriers in North America. Another that works on most of the carriers, everywhere else. Typically called "international". The 6 will be similar.
The US Model will also work with MANY international carriers.

International Note 5?

Where can I buy a international note 5 for germany?
Thanks
seems its available in singapore, anyknows where it can be bought online
Yes, it is available in Singapore... I bought mine in a samsung-shop on saturday. Not sure about online ordering.
Maybe you can try here...
http://www.expansys.com.sg/mobile-phones/brand/samsung/
check ur PM
Does anyone know which Version Supports german language and celluar bands?
Hey, I have not looked at asian note 5 yet, I will do so soon.
For Europe, you need gsm and lte 3, 7, and 20 (1800, 2600, 800 MHz) [no26-800MHz # no20-800MHz! ...]
To use US phones for Europe, this is what i have come up with.
http://imgur.com/1yPhyFQ
I based that on what I found for SM-N920 A/V/P (AT&T, Verizon, Sprint), German/UK LTE network requirements, and the Galaxy S6 (SM-G920 A/V/P/F, F=Europe/Int). I guess the Note 5 is pretty much a S6 with larger screen and pen, so network capabilities should not differ too much between the S6 and the Note 5, hopefully.
I will get a AT&T device soon, hopefully only bootloader unlocked and just KNOX (don't care too much about warranty for US phone since I import it...). AT&T should work for most of Europe, or respectively for LTE 3, 7, and 20....
I see what I can find for the Asian Note 5 ('s) and msg back
EDIT:
Haven't found much info on the SM-N920S / SM-N920K (Korea, Asia?), but based on the SM-G920S/K or Galaxy S6, versus the SM-G920F Europe, there are some minor differences, but I think these should work just fine in Europe as well... http://www.mobosdata.com/samsung-galaxy-s6-sm-g920f (k, s).
g/l
Ill also need to import one, since it wont come here to brazil...needs to be lte band 7...id like to buy it today if possible...
How you can use a Galaxy Note 5 from U.S in Europe? is the region block...
the at&t one, unlock via website, not straight forward potentially, but seems possible espc as non-customer - https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/
but what bothers me is this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note5/general/verizon-att-samsung-note-5-knox-root-t3183641 - i guess will hold off the note 5 at&t for now, same with verizon, and sprint might not have full lte capabilities.
i might get the surface phone lol (if i can get full access to registry and group policies and have some way of turning all the phoning home off)...
Man, why you speack about Note with carriers?
On eBay there are a lot model FACTORY UNLOCKED, are they good? they have the region block if i buy them and i use in Italy?
I have the singapore one.
And it works just fine here in the netherlands.
At my home I don't have 4G.
Outside there is no problem.
I think the singapore one misses the 800 band.
4G is working only in the big cities here for now with this note 5.
Later this year the phone company release another bands.
800Mhz is to 1800 and 2600MHz LTE - loosely compared - as 5GHz Wifi is to 2.4GHz -- higher transfer speeds at the higher frequencies but shorter range and less signal through obstancles, generally speaking.
Would explain why inside you would not get a great LTE signal, if the 800MHz band is missing.... imho
You are right.
But the seller told me the 800 is there.
And now I know there is not a 800.
But here in the netherlands the provider also uses the 1800,but only in the big cities.
That's why the phone picks up 4G when I am outside.
yh, most european countries use all 800, 1800, and 2600, depending on region/area/whatnot...
just saying, without 800 capability, and when you happen to have 800 mast outside your area, you might not get signal, especially inside... ofc you can still have lte via 1800 and 2600, provided you are close enough and have a mast nearby, more likely in the cities (lots of data over short ranges)
Still I am happy with the note 5.
I am not saying anything about that
Apart from the obvious things everyone knows about vs the Note 4, it's a great looking piece of kit!
Also, Seller MIGHT have said 800 is there, as in 800MHz B26, but what you'd need in Europe is 800MHz-B20...
I saw it on ebay.
It's 800 B26.
My mistake.
I don't bother.
I read about Samsung region block and we can't put a different SIM respect the SIM of the contry model. Don't you have problem?
Does anyone have an SM-N920I?
It probably has more / less bands than you think. What's posted online doesn't actually reflect much about the actual phone. Does anyone have an SM-N920I?
In your dialer could you please type *#2263# and naivate to Band Selection. Post here what's in WCDMA and LTE.
On the S6 SM-G920I:
WCDMA: 2100, 900, 1700, 850, 1900
LTE: 1,2,3,4,5,7,8,12,13,17,18,19,20,25,26,28,29,40
on my N920I I have the following:
WCDMA: 2100, 900, 850, 1900
LTE: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 25, 26, 28, 29, 30, 38, 39, 40, 41
Let me know if you want something else too.
I bought this device to use on AT&T in the USA. So far it is working perfectly.

Tencent version vs global version

Thinking of grabbing the 12gb ram version. Any reason to get global over china version?
Global not out until late Sept but im waiting re band differences. great site https://www.kimovil.com/en/frequency-checker/AU/asus-rog-phone-2
Some folks have said that bands 66 and 71 will be supported in the Intl version. I hope that’s correct.

Here's the information for the two Chinese version. IMO the 5999 version is same as intl version except Chinese firmware.
GSM/GPRS/EDGE; WCDMA/HSPA+/DC-HSPA+;TD-SCDMA; CDMA 2000;FDD-LTE; TD-LTE Same
LTE Cat13 UL up to 150Mbps / Cat16 DL up to 1.0Gbps vs LTE Cat18 UL up to 211Mbps / Cat18 DL up to 1.2Gbps
DC-HSPA+: UL 5.76Mbps / DL 42Mbps same
LTE DL 5CA same
Unknown vs Support 4x4 MIMO and CA w/ 4x4 MIMO
FDD-LTE band 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8 adding band 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, 26, 28, 29, 32, 66
TD-LTE band 34, 38, 39, 40, 41 adding band 46
WCDMA band 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 adding band 6, 19
TD-SCDMA band 34, 39 same
CDMA band BC0 same
EDGE/GPRS/GSM 850, 900, 1800, 1900MHz same
And the information on ASUS taiwan website shows that taiwan version have no TD-SCDMA nor CDMA 2000. Other are same with the Chinese 5999 vision.
Thanks. So band 66 but not 71. Ugh, that’s a shame with T-Mobile, especially with the Razer Phone covering band 66 and 71.
Edit: /facepalm. This phone can actually go on any carrier, so just have to see if any make sense.
So then is the 512gb tencent no good for Verizon? I tried Razer 2 but they said even if it has the bands to work on Verizon, they may have deleted support to get ready for 5g. Had to send the Razer back and I really want the rog 2 but I'm tired of losing signal with att where I live so I'd really like to get the correct model, if any that support verizon
I'm on T-Mobile as well, so I definitely need to know if this device supports volte in the states
I contacted Asus North America to ask if the version we get will include bands 66 and 71. I mentioned how it would be a huge selling factor for those of us on T-mobile. They responded that that would forward it to the product team.

Global Version 128Gb - B20 or not??

Anybody with Global Version 128/8Gb can confirm band 20 (800Mhz)
One of colegue on forum have 128Gb from Asus UK and seems like without band 20.
So confused.
Thanks for help.
Sent from my BLA-L09 using Tapatalk
Only elite and ultimate version have B20. Strix, tencent and global 128GB not.
I'm sat next to my mate, he is on Samsung S9 - band 20 4g Vodafone UK, my direct from asus 128gb uk phone isnt. Even though I'm pretty sure the website says it has b20
Annoying as bought UK vesrion for full coverage and it doesn't do it! EE signal isn't good where I work, guess I'll have to try O2 and see what 4g band they have near by
Here's what ASUS' customer service said:
The ROG Phone II Strix edition does unfortunately not support LTE Band 20. Only the Ultimate and Elite edition does support FDD-LTE band 20, you can check this here: https://www.asus.com/Phone/ROG-Phone-II/Tech-Specs/ under Network Standard.

So unfortunately no B20 for the 128GB version
From asus, but this info is different to their site, it's split into models! But cheeky:!

Why sell a phone in the UK that doesn't work!? I should have just bought the cheaper tencent version. Dont like this phone any more, grrrrrr.
Here we go again, asus selling faulty products. What a joke.
I wonder what Kind of bull**** they will create for rog phone 3.
It's my one and only Asus!
Thought I'd take a punt, regret it now
I've put an official complaint in, as the UK site implies it has band 20.
Doubt anything will come of it though.....
Can You share link to Asus website where is this info. I will sent complain as well.

Well ASUS are and absolute joke. Their website has changed, so they know the info was wrong. Link I posted above no longer works.
They said I should have checked the sellers site for the info, not their site, as it's only general information. WTF, you make the phone ASUS, if anyone should have the right info, it's you!
Secondly, I did buy it from Asus site, just a third party fullfiled the order. And they have said they didn't have that information anyway.
So no-one has the correct information apparently!
Who I bought it from said it's too late to send back and if I do, I'll have to pay a restocking fee, no idea what that is, but I asked them anyway.
Just a joke, I bought this on false information that has been taken away now and Asus have said nothing helpful, just they are sorry for any inconvenience.....
I'm so furious.
Can't believe. That can say some seller from Aliexpress. Sorry I'm put wrong info on offer.
But how official ASUS website can be wrong. IT'S JOKE.
Sent from my Mi 9T Pro using Tapatalk
According to ASUS, AliExpress would be more accurate!
Yup, complete joke.
Shame I'll have to keep the phone for a few years now to warranty the cost.....actually, the phone is great, the connectivity is terrible.
Such a shame....
Wait wait wait hol' up. If my carrier supports LTE (4G): 800/1800/2600MHz does that mean I won't be able to use 4G LTE or what???? I was just about ready to buy the global version of this phone.
The phone supposedly supports 1800Mhz (apparently that's gotta be a B3 band) . My question - do certain bands provide more or less coverage or is it all the same? I'm not sure whether I need to have both 800Mhz and 1800Mhz or just one of those bands and I don't want to lose 4G all the time because 800Mhz is more covered than 1800Mhz.
The bands the ROG Phone 2 supports:
GSM: B2, B3, B5, B8
WCDMA: B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B8
FDD-LTE: B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B7, B8, B28
TDD-LTE: B34, B38, B39, B40, B41
Clarification would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
You'll have to check what bands all the providers use and perhaps a map of where towers are and the band they have there.
Most UK networks are band 20, which is why I'm on 3G 99% of the time

How do you tell if global variant is version a or b?

After no one could answer this question properly,
I found out more info on it myself and find the following information to be 100% accurate. Here's the only way to find out what it is. Tested and proved by asking for pics of manuals in the box from sellers, and asus support.
Triangle box alone doesn't mean anything. If Model number on the bottom of the triangle box matches taiwan( ZS661KS - 6A015TW) or U.S model number (Not released yet) and box says 512gb + 12gb or 16gb ram, it is guaranteed to be version A that has all the bands for global use.
If triangle box is any other model number, there's a 50/50 chance that it will be a or b. Only way to find out is by going to the bands page in the manuals in the box.
If it says tencent and comes in a rectangular box, it is guaranteed to be version b with less bands not recommended to use on U.S carriers.
If it says 865 (not 865 plus) in triangle box which is the strix edition, its guaranteed version b.
Here's a pic of version b bands inside global variant of 512gb 12gb ram rog phone 3. Zs661ks-6a026ww https://ibb.co/3zM1sLm
https://ibb.co/LPT9pS6
Another way of knowing which model comes in both version a and b is by going to the asus website and changing the region. You'll see only taiwan and u.s has version a only models. The other regions come in both a and b versions so again its a 50/50 chance with those.
Good luck purchasing the phone. I went ahead with ordering oneplus 8 pro over the rog 3 for my needs
Seconded. I would also like to know this, since apparently the SKU isn't going to say (mine has the SKU of 6A027WW, which Hong Kong's Asus store's website assures supports US bands, but I'm still a little concerned since mine's also apparently supposed to be a Strix phone when it doesn't even mention Strix on the back).
There needs to be a guide on how to tell which phone is which. Tencent? Elite? Classic? Strix? 8/12/16GB RAM? 128/256/512GB storage? A or B version?
For Tencent, it is easy. There's only square box and it will say Tencent on the box. All Tencent sets are version B.
For ROG Phone 3 (865+), the square box is version B and 6 prism box is version A. For Strix, both square and 6 prism boxes are version B. There is no version A.
How to tell between Strix and ROG Phone 3? See the box label. It will say 865 or 865+.
All Global variants are Version B.

That's wrong. I emailed asus and they said it should mention the version on the box. Also, the band support is written in the manuals in the box.
There's Version a and b in the global variants for Hong Kong, Singapore, and like 2 other countries. A version a only model is only for u.s which is not released yet, Taiwan and germany. This does not include the tencent or strix models. Those are seperate.

Where did you get the data that all global variants are version B?

Go to asus website and change the region to Singapore. It should list version a and b. I confirmed it also by asking ebay sellers. There was a specific seller with the Singapore model because I checked up the model number who checked the manuals in the box and sent me a picture confirming it was version b.
I researched everything I said from asus website, confirming with ebay sellers that were in possession of the item and now have shared my results above since no one knew the answers.
In the end, I went with ordering the oneplus 8 pro because it was ip68 rated and could not find any water resistant cases to use on the rog for the gym. Good luck guys.

That doesn't mean they're all version a. It specifically mentions versions a and b so that means it could be either of them.

Asus SG is just plain lazy to modify the spec sheet. They copied and pasted from Asus global spec sheet, changing only the Memory section. Ebay sellers? Likely to be scammer. Asus SG only distribute version A. There are lots of export set floating around 3rd party sellers in Singapore. Asus Singapore model is ZS661KS-6A026WW.

Like I said, the seller sent me pictures of the box and manuals for ZS661KS-6A026WW and the manuals inside showed band support for version b. The seller had multiple in stock and sold many with good ratings. I already did all the necessary research and contacted asus and they told me to check the box and manuals. So yes, I'm right. There's version a and version b for some of the global variants including the Singapore variant.

Well, user manual in the box is the same for all.
https://www.asus.com/us/Phone/ROG-Phone-3/HelpDesk_Manual/
Take a look at the US english manual. It is not version A. So does that means USA does not have version A?
So does the ebay seller have a "Version A" set with the full RF bands listed in the user manual?

I'm in Malaysia. Asus Malaysia also seems to carry both Version A and B. But we also get the lower end 8GB Strix model.
I was told that only the Strix version is Version B while the other ROG models (prism box) is version A. However like I said I cannot get a consistent answer for this. The best I can get is that HK Asus site lists my SKU (ZS661KS-6A027WW) as supporting the necessary bands. Seems that whole of Asia gets the WW version.
Is there a way to figure out if the ROG 3 is "version A" or "version B" based on the retail package info, prior to buying the phone?

That's just 1 or 2 models translated in different languages. If you change region on asus website, you should see a couple of different models with different manuals. Just send the seller a message asking for the bands specification in the manuals if you're buying a global variant. If you want to be sure you're getting version a, buy the taiwan or the upcoming u.s model. Both only come in version a.
Hello my model is zs661ks-6a012cn global rom.I would like to know if this is version A or B?Inside the box i found a manual in chinese language but does not refer to network bands.

Does it smell like Samsung Note 20 copper vs graphite again?
My local Asus said they do not know and have no info on Version A or B.
If its in triangle box its A version. Its simple guys. Stop overthinking it.

Wrong. Triangle box alone doesn't mean crap. If Model number on triangle box says 512gb + 12gb or 16gb ram and matches taiwan or U.S model number, it is guaranteed to be version A.
If triangle box is any other model number, there's a 50/50 chance that it will be a or b. Only way to find out is by going to the bands page in the manuals in the box.
Proof is a guy sent me manuals inside triangle box of Singapore global variant and bands matched b.
How do we know which model number refers to which country?
Also, aren't all CN (tencent) models same as "Version B" network bands?
