1. just keep the zip file in root of Internal storage
2. Give storage permission to Motorola update services by going to settings app -> apps -> show system apps -> Motorola update services
3. reboot the phone..
4. After this, just check for updates.. then your phone will start updating..

Didn't worked...
But i saw now that my phone is in amxbr channel! Thank you anyway!

I believe this zip is made to be installed with twrp, not the stock recovery, thats why it didn't work.

Ok, when you say root of internal storage, you mean keep it on internal storage or in a folder named root? Because it's on internal storage and I've tried it three times.

Hi, I had already installed when I saw this, but thanks. Now I have a problem, I managed to do everything ok, I installed Android 10, installed my apps, I was even using them, so I decided to restart the phone and it gets stuck on the Phone Is Starting screen. I can access settings, but some things are locked.

I factory reset it, I've restarted twice now and it's opening, but I'm getting so many erros, like apps that won't download, there's not a single folder on internal memory. Is this fixable? Should I try reinstalling it or downgrade it? ?
---------- Post added at 12:05 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:13 AM ----------
I think it's a problem with storage or slots, because whrn I try to screenshot it says it can't save due to limited storage although I only have 34% used

I just got the update and was able to capture the zip file.
Please be aware that after the update my phone was in a boot loop, and I had to do a full wipe. I'm full stock with the bootloader still locked.
This is the .zip I captured: http://fastdl.hostzone.com.br/zip/ab_delta-Blur_Version.29.271.13-10.1.22.lake.retail.en.US.zip

Thank you

[Q] OTA 5.1 Update file location?

So I received a notification to download the 5.1 update this morning on my rooted Nexus 6. I proceeded to click download and then install.
However, due to that I had TeamWin recovery installed the update failed on reboot. (didn't even try to install)
Now when I click on "Check for updates" in About in System Settings menu. It says that there are no new updates??? Even though it failed to install.
Does anyone know where the update is stored on the device before installation? Maybe i need to remove it before it will try and update again? (now that i have flashed stock recovery)
Any help would be very appreciated.
You need to unroot too.
Ota can be downloaded online.

Once you remove root, try pulling your Sim and rebooting. Let the phone sit, without Sim, and see if update reappears.

I was hoping to use the factory OTA update method for a change. (Always manually update) But might just be easier.

Might give this a try first. Worth a shot. Cheers mate.
OTA update downloads to system/cache folder ... It may get deleted soon after you try installing and restart the phone. You need rooted phone and a file explorer like es file explorer for accessing system folder.

Check first whether you have it in your phone already. Rooted phone go to /cache folder you'll find something.Zip there.
Ok so i managed to get the phone to download the OTA again and attempted to install it again. This time with stock recovery.
Everything was looking good but it fails with "error" below the android logo.
Any ideas?
Sorry I can't help you. I don't want that AT&T 5.1 update. So I did what you did and hit install. It of course didn't. I use TWRP also. But the damn 5.1 update is back!

Using a stock image will wipe the device each time. The posters question is even more valid now since Google's doing security patches every month.
I have the same issue & I wasn't able to find the .zip in /cache

You only need to flash the system.img file within the Google image using fastboot.
After that, boot into TWRP and reflash SuperSU, XPosed, and anything else you've flashed that resides in /system.
Wipe caches and reboot. Easy, and no app or data loss.

Except, to be more complete, it might be a good idea to flash everything except data and boot - that is, in case changes are made to radio or anything else, but if changes are done to boot and are required for system or kernel and you don't put stock boot, you're kinda screwed (you'd need a different version of twrp in this case and it probably won't be out).
My point, there really is no complete way to know if flashing just system is enough to get all the security updates unless you look at what the update replaces. That's why I'm looking for the ota.zip

And thankfully Google put version numbers to the other files so takes about 15 seconds to realise you only need to flash system. If a change was made to radio you can still flash in exactly the same way as the system and not lose data...

Need help, Rooted the phone, via twrp, but I wanted to revert back to stock recovery, I try to flash stock recovery with fastboot, then unroot the phone.
Then I try to go to recovery mode, and got to rescue mode.
Turn off phone, and reboot, and start just as I had it with my apps and everything.
But no stock recovery Need your help guys, what sould I do?
Edit: I managed to reinstall TWRP
In future updates, do I have to reinstall stock ? Or TWRP works like stock recovery for updates?
I erase some system apps google, hangouts, etc
Can I factory reset with TWRP, and configure the phone again, or do I need to flash firmware on stock recovery?
Is there a flashable zip for TWRP to downgrade or update firmware?
Sorry for my bad english, noob here!

[Q] is there a factory restore (not reset) available?

Dare I ask what went wrong?
I was going to unlock the bootloader (since it would require a full wipe if I waited and did it later), but otherwise stop there (I don't think changing recovery or rooting result in any need to wipe)
There is a full OTA zip in the 2nd post of the TWRP thread. This may solved your problem. But I do suggest you read the whole thread, as there maybe info that regard to your bootloader issue. I noticed that some of the OP3T came with OOS 3.5.1, which have issue w/ custom recovery. So you have to upgrade to 3.5.3.
PS: there is this full backup available also.

After mucking around with TWRP/Root, I decided I wanted to try the plain vanilla SafetyNet-compliant OxygenOS experience. In TWRP, I flashed the 3.5.3 OTA from here. I rebooted my phone into Fastboot and relocked the bootloader, then rebooted back into OxygenOS. I think relocking the bootloader and flashing the OTA are interchangeable.
Also, from what I recall, if you want to flash the file through the stock recovery, have the file downloaded to the root of your internal storage partition and name it ota.zip. Either download it while in the OS, or use Fastboot mode and use adb push to upload it from your computer to your phone through USB. Reboot into Recovery and there should be an option to update.

Clean installed but it doesn't detect any Wifi and hence doesn't allow to pass through the setup. Stuck there. Any Suggestions? (Formatted Data already) (All clean (even Internal Storage and everything))
Edit: If we don't decrypt after TWRP install, it seems to work fine. For those who are facing the same issue as mine, try not to decrypt after installing. Worked for me then.

Apparently there is a different decrypt zip for pie and flashing oreo decrypt will cause this mess. Also the new TWRP is supposed to support native decryption so maybe you can try that.

Last firmware 340..
sorry, just my 2 cents;
after read all posts here, and predict that this thread would be filled by many posts later on , I think the explanation on the Original Post should be made clearer & more complete, like (from posts I read until I write this) ;
*The required firmware before doing this (should be 340 ?)
*The right (links to the right) files of required "TWRP, decrypt, and magisk" for doing this.
*The 'effect' of what will lost after doing this.. (Google 2FA perhaps? what should we do about critical —tied to a firmware state— apps like that?)
that, or maybe more...
and, personally I'd like to ask you who already do this;
"Is this pie really works smoothly and 'worth it' now?
(I read that the previous pie version before was not smooth & not really worth it compared to the original Oreo or other Custom Pie ROM for our phone. How about this one now?)
What are the minuses (and pluses) you found with this firmware?"
Thank you for the OP and all sisters & brothers here

I can't answer if it is better or not but I can provide how to do it. I went from 340 but if you will do clean install like me it doesn't probably matter what version you are using.
So I had 340, decrypt, TWRP 3.2.3-0 and magisk installed.
HOW TO DO CLEAN INSTALL FROM OREO TO PIE:
BE CAREFUL: Apps and data from internal storage will be deleted.
***HOW TO PREPARE:***
1) Backup all your apps and files from internal storage.
(You can use Titanium for backup your apps and after just restore them like Google 2FA etc. It works)
2) Update your TWRP to newest version "twrp-3.3.1-1-X00T-20190609.img".
(How to do it https://forum.xda-developers.com/as...ent/recovery-unofficial-twrp-3-2-3-0-t3888110)
3) Download and put it in your SD CARD:
ROM: https://forum.xda-developers.com/asus-zenfone-max-pro-m1/how-to/ota-asusx00t-t3938692
DECRYPT for PIE: https://forum.xda-developers.com/as...w-to/decrypt-zip-asus-stock-pie-roms-t3923265
MAGISK for ROOT v19.3: https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445
***HOW TO INSTALL:***
1) Go to TWRP (Power + Volume down) => WIPE => Advance wipe => check everything but micro sd card (you don't want to delete your files in sd card)
2) Flash ROM: UL-ASUS_X00T-WW-16.2017.1905.053-user-modified. Don't reboot after that.
3) Befofore flashing decrypt in TWRP go to MOUNT and check "Vendor"
4) Flash decrypt for pie
5) Install MAGISK 19.3
That's it. It works for me. I hope it will work for you.

What other bugs? Rom is working great, I debloated and removed about 40-45 apps from system/app and priv-app. OTG works without any tricks too. Only thing needed is way to disable expanded desktop for apps which have it by default. How do I enable camera 2 on this?

IMHO I think for me, it's better to stay on Oreo for now

I have OP10P which is global unlocked at all so I didn't need to switch from chinese coloros to global/europe OOS.
Ok, that was nice
I have eu op10pro unlocked and rooted.
I've got a guide on how to root, plus the stock and patched boot images, I'll release them on each new update.
All will be EU
(Guide) Rooting, payload dumper, magisk_patched guides NE2213
Hi all, Thought i'd share a guide on how to get these boot images yourself as well as all the files required, plus the patched boot.img if you just want to go ahead and boot/flash it without obtaining one yourself Please read the process before...

You'd need windows..
So if you're on a Mac like I am for work then you could use boot camp and have a dual boot or just get parallels, have an OS within an OS, it's £70 a year but it works extremely well..

Your phones saying you have an update?
If you're rooted then you do not want to update the conventional way..
This is in my guide on rooting mate. Just follow it.
In short to update you do this.
1. Install oxygen updater
2. Change update method to full in the app.
3. If an update is available then download the whole thing, it'll be big.
4. Once downloaded, back out and navigate to the normal phones system update and click the 3 dots, then select local upgrade.
5. Take the update and let it install.
DO NOT REBOOT WHEN PROMPTED!!!
6. Back out and open Magisk.
7. Click the top install button and then install after OTA.
8. Reboot and you're updated and rooted.
I'm on NE2210_11_A.13 too, local install doesn't work (it doesn't recognize the Oyxgen ROM)

Turn on airplane mode, turn off wifi, then reboot, does it show it then?
read this the other day, someone was able to get it to show by doing something like this.
Or could be a Magisk module causing it, if you disable them then reboot, that may make it work.

It doesn't show if there is an update pending to install. Solution is to reset the phone and not connect it to the internet or to delete the installation hidden files.
Unfortunately the problem is not finding the option, but that when you pick the .zip for Local Install it says it's invalid. I've downloaded the ROM .zip file directly from Oxygen Updater and from external links to no avail.

Ahh I see so can I clarify, at the moment you're on the Chinese OOS?
And you're attempting to install another regions firmware?

Correct, NE2210_11_A.13 is the Chinese version. I'm attempting to simply install an OxygenOS official ROM but it's not allowing to. I have an OP8 Plus and it worked very easily, simply pick the original ROM, local upgrade (now the option is called "Local install" instead) and then clean cache and good to go. This is not working now for whatever reason. I tried both in A.12 CN to A.12 EU and A.13 CN to A.12 EU.
