Android 10 - Android Auto "this internet connection isn't reliable at the moment"
EDIT - According to THIS Android Auto support thread it's been reported and is being worked on.
-----
I've got an AT&T locked Note 9 (SM-N960U). I recently updated to Android 10 via Odin using the CCT variant of DTA4 build. The update worked fine but afterwards I noticed that if I try to compose a message (new message or reply, Hangouts or SMS) in Android Auto it will work OK up to the "do you want to send it or change it" part and then it IMMEDIATELY gives a quick beep and says "this internet connection isn't reliable at the moment". The signal is fine from all I can see.
I've tried clearing cache on Play services and Android Auto with no luck. Today I went all in and did a factory reset in case it was an issue with the upgrade vs a fresh install. No luck, same error. I can use Assistant on the phone to compose/send messages successfully. I've also tried being on wifi vs being on a strong 4G LTE signal, same failure.
I found a mention HERE of someone solving it by removing GBoard. I didn't have that installed, but I did try disabling Google Voice Input under the keyboard section to no avail.
For grins I tried posting at the AA help site HERE but I figured this audience might be better equipped to help. Any ideas?
If it matters, the car is a 2018 Volvo S90, but there's been no changes to the car's software in this time so I don't suspect is as the cause.
Thanks!

[Q] Network/Cell Location not working

I have a Razr i on Orange UK, and have found that apps that use the network/cell location (instead of Wifi or GPS) don't work. I've tested this with various apps, but the problem can be seen with Google Maps:
- Disable GPS and Wifi in settings
- Tap location crosshairs and wait
- A 'waiting for location' message will appear, followed a few seconds later by 'your current location is temporarily unavailable'
I'm not sure if this is an issue with my provider (Orange) or with the phone itself. Can anyone else reproduce this issue?
I have the same issue here in Brazil with my provider (Claro).
My other 2 phones can find the location using the network, with a precision of about 1km, but RAZR i doesn't even "try" to find it. I receive the same message as you using Maps. One of that other 2 phones is a Motorola Spice XT300 (using Android 2.1 at the same provider), so this issue may be especific for this device or for the newest versions of Android.
I would like to use the location based on the network to activate wifi and other tasks with the SmartActions (without GPS, wifi and bluetooth to save battery), if somebody knows a way to make this work, I would be very thankful too.
I can try this later today on my father's Galaxy SII (using ICS too), and will post here the result if anyone doesn't post it before me.
EDIT: I tested it again, and it works! Maps could find my location with a good precision (better than 100m) only using the 3G network. By the way, the SII can do this too. I don't know why it works now, but maybe with a 2G network the device can't find the location.
I found a fix for a similar sounding issue here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9576852&postcount=108 However that fix requires root access which I'm not currently willing to try on my new Razr i.
After reading that link, I did manage to fix it for now by going to Settings > Apps > All > Google Services Framework and pressing the Clear Data button. I was prompted again to enabled Location Services. I then rebooted my phone. After a reboot the Play Store didn't work at first, but it sorted itself out after a few minutes.
I'll say that this is fixed 'for now'... some other threads discussing similar problems show that such fixes sometimes stop working after a period of time.

Problem accessing Youtube and Play Store

Hi, I desperately need some support as my device refuses to sign in in both Youtube and Play Store. I'm therefore unable to use both these apps. An error message keeps saying I'm offline and proposes to retry, but it simply never works whatever I do.
Issue has been going on since many weeks; I googles and tried many suggestions without any success.
Before I do a hard reset, has anyone an idea what this can be?
The amazing part is that my daughter's tab (Galaxy S2) is also having the same issue since some time! She has her own google account. What the heck is going on?
Thanks!

This may be an bug in the updated version of google play store or YouTube..Have you tried to sign in specific apps usning another google account you have..Also try to clear cached data of phone as well as clear data of those apps* you can also uninstall updates of those apps and force stop or disable them and after enabling again try to access*..Also might be network related issue sometimes weaken network shows such type of errors..Try to acees with high speed wifi or data with maximum signal..Even if problem exist then simply reset is last option for you..

Hi, I tried most of the solutions you're are mentioning, without any success. What I find interesting is what you wrote about weak network. I cancelled my cable connection at home some time back and using instead a 4G modem. Could that really be the culprit, knowing the coverage is medium? It sounds to me strange that such possibility exists, also I often go out and have full 4G network for hours sometimes and still it doesn't work. Interestingly enough, every about once per month it suddenly works, and I'm able to update my apps and also access my account in Youtube. It'll work for 2-3 days, until it's again the same bad. Really boring and would love to understand this issue better so as to possibly fix it. Thank you.

1)It's possible sometimes your networks proxy enforce your google id not to be sign in into specific apps you have mentioned and yes sometimes low network coverage also causes the issues like offline or sign in errors like please check network connection due wireless functionality limitations
2)I am curious about one thing if you have tried almost all the solutions found on google as well as your own, is it that much impossible for you to make backup of your current imp data and give a try to hard reset?? If i am not wrong, please give it a try because sometimes software glitches also causes the app crashes or network errors
3) Next thing sometimes your stock software gets corrupted due to some fatal malwares so many system apps as well as third party apps pretended to show errors like unfortunately process is stopped also some network related issue, so one solution you can try is to re-apply or update your current stock firmware..i.e. if update is unavailable you can fresh install same firmware version again on your phone which most of the times resolves the issue
4) As i mentioned in my first post you should give a try to any high speed mobile network like LTE or 5ghz band Wi-Fi which gives constant access to internet connection which probably help you to figure out exact issue i.e. with modems or connection your using or with your device itseld due to corrupted software
5)Please mention your device model no,country, your mobile network provider information so that it would be easy to figure out your issue
Thank you. Yes, a hard reset could solve it although I'd like to avoid it if possible. I will try ASAP on a solid wifi and see. I forgot to mention an important point: my daughter's tablet (Galaxy S2 pro) has got the same issue, and it started near about the same time like it did to me. She has her own Google ID, and she uses a different set of apps. Will report whenever I can test on a wifi.
My mobile provider is Salt Mobile here in Switzerland, and my Note 5 is a generic one bought in UAE. I run Dr. Ketan rom of about 8 months ago.

1)Ohhhk now i got, i assume you might be using Indian Variant with indian mobile network providers as per your username 'prerna'
so your device might be factory unlocked SM-N920C
2)So you should try on any faster network provider or incase wifi to check if problem is due to weak singal strength or specific with your device software integration
3) And i think you should give a try to dr.ketan's nougat rom which is based on latest nougat firmware which will might help you to overcome your issue as new base, new kernel will help you to get stable connectivity
4)If your running dr.ketans MM 6.0.1 based rom then download latest N5 nougat rom to flash
5)I know u might not new in flashing custom roms ad your running a custom one only from 8 months but once again be sure to enable 'oem unlocking' and 'usb debugging' options from developers option before flashing latest twrp version(Don't worry u can flash dr.ketans rom using any 3.0 twrp version ur running now but if latest version with stability and improvements available for your device then you can install it as per your requirement) if your running old one or before flashing nougat based N5 rom by dr.ketan

Getting the dreaded NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID message

Hi all,
Hi all, first time poster here, please highlight any indiscretions or mistakes in etiquette and I will address them going forward (forgiveness is appreciated!). I have also asked this question on the Android Central forum a couple of days back but have had no response yet.
I have a Galaxy Tab S2 - 8.0 inch screen size, 3GB RAM, 32GB Storage, Android 7.0 (Kernel Version 3.10.9-10949424). It's been absolutely fine for over a year, the only recent thing I can recall doing which may have some relevance is removal of the Airwatch Software and Agent which my previous employer used to manage devices connecting to their corporate network. No AV software is installed.
I first noticed the issue when trying to browse one of the regular newspaper sites I read in Chrome, I got the "Your connection is not private message", with the "NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID". I am not able to proceed to the site - I just get the "back to safety" option.
The problem is more wide reaching, some apps that require internet access do not work any more, Google Play thinks it is not connected to the internet. Some web sites do work however, and so do some apps. A standard Google search will not work. E-mail via the stock app and the Outlook app both work.
I searched through many websites and found the same advice and steps to attempt resolution in a number of places, I will highlight below what I have tried.
Resetting the time, from automatic to manual and back on a number of occasions, with reboots in between.
Have tried connecting to 3 different WiFi networks, all of which work fine with other Android devices and my Win 10 laptop.
Rebooted my home router.
I have cleared the Chrome cache / history multiple times.
I tried the stock browser, the same happens.
Disabled Chrome, rebooted.
Re-enabled Chrome back to it's default version.
Installed the Toaster app via an apk, but I have to admit I have no idea what to do with it.
Rebooted multiple times.
There are no user installed certificates to delete / remove.
Under Settings->General Management->Reset, I went for Reset Settings and Reset network settings, with reboots etc...
None of the above have worked, the only thing I haven't done is a factory reset, to avoid the pain of restoring everything, even with backups etc it's tedious.
Any other suggestions or advice on anything I missed would be most welcome please before I take that step, many thanks in advance.
Peter

Android auto problems w galaxy fold

I have no idea what is going one w new look version and old versions of android auto. Either way, most commands or calling a contact, get driving directions or text someone are decli ed saying something like sorry, not sure how to do that or not know how to handle requests. Kinda frustrating and settings appear to be correct as I can see music apps, google maps etc.
Any suggestions or is it an issue somewhere else. Any other android phone and AA works fine w it whether new look version or old AA version.
Tia,
Ian B
Same problems here, Android Auto is borked big time on my fold but is still OK on my Pixel 3a. Problems are:-
1) When connected to my vehicles head unit it often disconnects for no reason
2) When I get a stable connection, and ask it to "navigate to xxxx" by voice it responds that it cannot do this "while in driving mode".
3) If I ask it to make a call or send a sms it responds "sorry I cant make calls yet" or "sorry I cant send texts yet"
4) After AA has been opened (even outside the car), Google assistant will no longer make calls or send texts via voice commands. Disabling the Google app, clearing the cache doing a restart brings the assistant functionality back but only until I use AA again.
The whole thing is a complete mess and given it is intended to be used WHILE DRIVING it is a very dangerous distraction - Google/ Samsung need to get on top of this or I can see them getting sued because they killed someone.
UPDATE: Iwas running a beta of google play services, when I uninstalled that and went back to the general release version, everything seems to be working OK with Android Auto.

Question Cannot pair with Bluetooth remote shutter after updating to Android 12

I have a Bluetooth remote shutter—something like this or this, the original listing I bought has been updated to a new version—that I've used with both a Pixel 3a and 5a with no problems...until I updated them to Android 12.
Now I get a "Cannot pair with AB Shutter 6 because of an incorrect PIN or passkey" error whenever I try. But the shutter doesn't have a PIN, or at least I never needed one with Android 11, and it doesn't even give me the option to enter one, just says "oh wrong PIN sorry bye".
I've already wiped data for com.android.bluetooth, and tried various combinations of the Bluetooth-related developer options (Gabeldorsche, AVRCP version, MAP version), with no success.
I can pair the shutter with my computer just fine, and I can pair the phone with my computer and a Bluetooth keyboard—it's only the specific combination of phone and remote shutter that doesn't work. And I get the same error message on two different devices, both specifically after updating to Android 12, so I can only imagine that's the problem.
I contacted Google support and they insisted they haven't had any reports of this issue, and wanted me to do a factory reset, which...sorry, but without the ability to restore a Nandroid backup if it doesn't work, I am not committing to an hour+ restoring everything.
Is there any log I can look at to see what is actually happening? An app I can use to, I dunno, force the connection somehow, or manually enter the PIN? I already tried this app, and it gets a "Connect error (read failed, socket might closed or timeout, read ret: -1)". It also says "(waiting for the supported uuid...)" next to the device title, so I'm thinking it's not getting even as far as trying to pair from system settings.
