How to update CLT-L09 to EMUI 10? - Huawei P20 Pro Questions & Answers

I've been researching ways on how to upgrade my P20 Pro to Android 10. I've tried most of half the day trying to get my phone to find, download and install the EMUI 10 update.
Using Firmware Finder, is says my phone has been approved for the EMUI 10 update. I've tried the hot-spot first and altering the DNS, didn't work. I then tried to alter the DNS at the router, still didn't work and it continued to try and download EMUI 9 in eRecovery.
I've manually downloaded the ROM package and extracted it to a folder called Dload in my internal root storage. I'm not sure where else to go with this..... Any ideas?
P.S Phone is under contract by EE.
Thanks.

EMUI 10 was not yet globally released. The package you found with FF is for Indian region, that's why it doesn't work for you.
There are multiple threads on the forum covering this.

There is now a 10 version on firmware finder if anyone wants a go

Updating L09C440B138 to B139

Hi all.
I'm a fairly new P9 owner with moderate android experience. I'm not totally up to speed with the Huawei build numbers. I'm currently on C440B138 and using the firmware finder I see B139 available for my device. This should I believe update the device to 4.1.1.
The phone is on UK network EE and is on contract (network locked) I would have thought that I would see the B139 update on the phones internal updater but I get no updates available.
What do you think the risks are if I just go ahead and update to B139 using the firmware tool? Am I likely to end up with a useless phone if I use that update. The plan would be to update to 139 and use the method on here to update to EMUI 5.
Or do I wait and hope that EE releases 139 and the EMUI 5 update at some point in the future?
Additional - Does anyone know if EMUI 5 includes the adoptive storage feature?
Many thanks

Firmware changed to C900 ?

Hello.
I have a P9 Plus with the firmware VIE-L29C636B130. I tried to upgrade using Firmware Finder and Proxy to VIE-L29C636B202. After updating, the phone restarted and installed the update.
But, my firmware changed to VIE-L29C900B202. I can no longer see any further updates from firmware finder.
How do I upgrade to Nougat?
Any help is appreciated. :crying:

It shows you mistakenly flash a firmware from another region (cross flashing).
Just dload from you SD card, version C636B103, then you can dload either C636B180 or C636B202 later.
From C636B202, you can move to Nougat C636B362
B103 seem scarce, take it from here; https://mega.nz/#!W88SmSSa!Atlsa9G6aWcUK37KKqkLB-gz7VllP5IpyXT75k-4e5Q

[TUTORIAL] Downgrading to EMUI 8 using HiSuite

When I was trying to downgrade the old phone of my GF (single SIM, FIG-LX1 or P SMART 1st gen) all of the tutorials didnt work for me at all.
The one with Huawei Firmware Finder via Google Play was tedious altough i know how to change DNS, use eRecovery and all that jazz didnt work at all and the phone would throw me fit after fit.
Then I was reading too use older versions of HiSute and again change DNS and i gave up cause all ended up not working and thats how I figured out a way myself.
I will not be responsible if you lose any of your data doing this since it will wipe the phone completly
You will need:
- The phone ofc - make sure its charged all the way
- USB cable
- SD Card minimum 8GB
- Huawei P Smart FIG-LX1 FIG-L11 FIG-L31 hw eu HLRCF Figo-L11 Figo-L31 9.1.0.115(C432E5R1P3T8) Firmware 9.0.0 r3 EMUI9.0.1 05014XFJ 05014XMW - search androidhost.ru
- HiSuite
Steps:
1. Download the mentioned firmware from androidhost.ru
2. Extrach the dload folder from the zip to your desktop
3. Place the dload folder in the root directory of your SD Card (use a formatted one min. 8GB capacity)
4. Power down the phone, install SD Card and hold both volume buttons while powering on the phone to engage Force Update
5. Let the update finish its job and the phone will reboot too setup screen so just quickly set it up to reach the homescreen.
6. Connect the phone via usb and choose file transfer (for me it only worked that way)
7. Under my computer right click on HiSuite open and click HiSuiteDownloader
8. Finish installing HiSuite and follow on-screen instructions so the phone will be detected and connected to HiSuite.
9. Click Update and now bottom right of the window it should ask you for older version so click on it and it will present you with going back to EMUI 8.
(Explanation: I figured out if you run the latest version of EMUI 9 HiSuite will not present you a older version button thus you cant follow the process in my tutorial so thats why you downloaded the very first EMUI 9 build where it lets you do it)
10. Let HiSuite do its thing like downloading, installing and so on and do not unplug the phone until you come back to the setup screen which will be the EMUI 8 style one.
11. Good job :good: you finally downgraded to android 8.0 and now can unlock the bootloader if you choose so (unlocking costs money - search another thread for that i only focused on downgrading the phone so you can do it if you wish)
Well I hope this tutorial will help you as it helped me!
Feel free to like/thanks this thread and share if it worked or not
Hello! I have the FIG-LX1 vodafone Spain (only I can use one sim card). With Emui 9.1 and dicember 2019 Android patch security. Could I follow the process? Thanks!
I tried this and it worked, thank you! I was getting really mad at the slowiness of this phone in EMUI 9, it was getting worse in every update.
I also want to point one thing. You mentioned a firmware download on android-host.ru of " Huawei P Smart FIG-LX1 FIG-L11 FIG-L31 hw eu HLRCF Figo-L11 Figo-L31 9.1.0.115(C432E5R1P3T8) Firmware 9.0.0 r3 EMUI9.0.1 05014XFJ 05014XMW". While this may be right for your phone model, it may not work on every model. As I see from your post, you have the C432 model. People should look for the firmware for their model or else it may not work (in my case it was C02 and I also found it on android-host.ru).
Other thing I would like to point out is a question. I am not experienced in smartphone modding but as you downloaded the 9.0 firmware in order to downgrade from HiSuite, couldn't you just have donwloaded the 8.0 firmware and install it up front instead of having to pass in HiSuite? (I have not tried this, I have sticked to the instructions provided here. As I said, I do not know much of this).
Nonetheless, thank you again for making my phone usable!

@TOY_O_MACHO Where have you found the C02 firmware? I try to find it with EMUI 9 version and i cant find anything. I only see this one:

I think that this is the first 9.1 version with C02 (15-june-2019)
Huawei P Smart FIG-LX1 Fig-L11 vodafone default HLRCF Figo-L11 9.1.0.115(C02E6R1P3T8) Firmware 9.0.0 r3 EMUI9.1.0 05014XVU [androidhost.ru].zip
Starting from 9.1.0.176 (C02E11R1P5) I've downgraded to 9.1.0.115(C02) through sdCard.
Then through HiSuite downgraded to 8.0.0.144(C02).
Next step ---> unlook bootloader!

I've tried with 8.0.0.134(C02) through SdCard but the process fails on start.
I don't know if repeating the procedure without HiSuite(putting in SdCard 8.0.0.134(C02)) would have worked equally well.
Got it Working perfectly from 9.1.0.203(C432E11R1...) to 8.0.0.176(C432).
1 Step Closer to Bootloader Unlock
Im sorry to say but this guide does not work.
At least, not for my region which is c782 (UK). I did try with the rom you mentioned anyway, just in case the region would not matter but obviously it does.
There doesnt appear to be a 9.0.x version available for my region on android host so I guess I am totally stuck.
I've tried every downgrade tutorial in existance and none work. every dload method seems to fall over. Tried both androidhost.ru and firmware finder roms and just get nowhere. I give up!
Thank you. I was able to downgrade a FIG-LX1 that was not running latest EMUI 9.1 to EMUI 8.0, and then used another tutorial to flash and older version of EMUI and unlock its bootloader.
Anyone having the 9.1.0 C40 or C900 version by any chance?

firmware finder not working

Hi guys, about half a year ago, i managed to get google on my phone with the googlefier (or smth similar) method. Its now been 6 months that i havent updated my phone and i think its needed.
My phone by itself doesnt recognise it needs to be updated. So within the phone settings, thats not working. I have to do it via HiSuite and Firmware Finder.
But now the issue is that every update i wanna check on FF, its telling me that it got deleted and is therefore unavailable... I thought to look on the official website of FF to download the newest version but apparently i have the newest version (it didnt get updated for a long time).
So now im quite lost because i really need the phone app to work to see if the update is even viable. I dont want to end up downloading firmware to then read its no good for my phone.
So, what can i do now? Anyone got some ideas?
Thanks!

I'm sort of having the same issue with my phone. A few months ago I was able to downgrade my software to install GMS. It worked and everything ran smoothly.
I got a security warning from Gmail and had to change my password. Since then, GMS stopped working.
I've tried downgrading my firmware once again but every firmware file on firmware finder says "the firmware was deleted from the server" .
I'm currently searching for firmware version ELS-LGRP6-OVS 10.1.0.132

I couldn't find the firmware for my device either, but by googling for my Huawei mate 10 pro build number and emui version : firmware "BLA-L29C185" "9.1.0.341" i found the exact firmware image on Ministry Of Solutions
You can probably find it online as well since Firmware Finder didn't work for me either

Huawei Mate 10 EMUI 12 using HISUITE / Hisuite No Internet connection solution

I successfully upgrade my Huawei Mate 10 using Hisuite.
At first i encountered multiple No Internet connection on Hisuite.
I tried reinstalling the Hisuite proxy and Hisuite app but to no avail.
But i managed to download the EMUI 12 using DNS server.
Does anyone know how to get this working for a C636 region ALP-029? I've been stuck on EMUI 9 (officially) but I want to revive this phone since I like the form factor... I

There are no updates availble when using hisuite- that is the issue. I've tried all different versions of hisuite and nothing pulls the update. In the firmfinder tool there is an EMUI 10 update for the C636 region but it never gets offered. There seems to be no EMUI 12 update for that region code yet, either.

If you don't have a SIM card in it, try that or if you do try a different SIM.
