Did you try this? I am just a noob but the files inside look like what you would expect from a twrp flasher. If it works, we might be able to root as well through magisk?

not sure how i clicked the apk for reno and it ask me to login and i logged in and its just a oppo service page. nothing about bootloader or any downloads on there.
This does NOT work because you can't unlock the bootloader on OPPO phones.

WTF I thought this phone was unlocked, I check on the service menu and appears as NO. What can I do? I wanted to change the kernel to get root :crying:

Nope, to my knowledge the N9500 wasn't locked down, only the other Snapdragons like N950U. Exynos not locked down either of course.
Till this day I thought every Android phone can be rooted very interesting... every day you can learn something new
Not all lg and samung are locked down mostly cause qualcomm wants them that way
Has anyone tried unlocking honor play with DC unlocker. Found a handy guide that seems too good to be true. Dont have my phone with me right now so can anyone give it a try.

Ok so you haven't. That's good.
I asked that question because unlocking the BL triggers Knox. Your phones' Knox would permanently not work anymore, which in turn makes Secure Folder and Samsung Pay not work anymore.
But I think in your case there is some other problem...

In my case I had to take it ON and connected to Internet for *exactly* 7 days to have it enabled.
There are some workarounds indicated in some other threads, BUT I don't know of they really work or not...
