Bug p30pro / android? - Huawei P30 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi,
Since a couple of months I've been having issues with my p30pro.
For some
reason every now and then, the pictures I've taken get misformed.
Out of the blue, it can be after a couple of days or after a couple of hours, pictures are suddenly unwatchable and have bars in the picture, or colors become inverted etc.
It seems to be done randomly to the pictures, and there is no action taken that causes this on my part.
First I thought it was because of WhatsApp. That a picture that I sent was then unusable afterwards. But I've noticed now it also happens to photos not being sent via WhatsApp.
Than I thought it was because of the gallery app so I installed another one and used only that one. Didn't change a thing.
I have a standard p30pro, have not rooted it etc. Installed every update made available trough the system..
This is becoming very frustrating and annoying that this happens on such a high end smartphone without any reason.
Photos I have taken are now sometimes unusable which cause me to miss moments captured with my camera.
The camera btw is the only resao' I've purchased the p30pro.
Does anyone know this problem? Does anyone knows how this can be solved.
Proove of misformed photos are added.

Usually because of using an external memory card, using internal again should fix it

Thanks for the reply.
I've changed the save location when taking pictures again to internal memory instead of external memory card.
I assume I can keep the SD card in my phone to use for other storage options?
Thanks.

[Q] Auto Clicking

Hi Guys,
This issue has been really p*****g me off over the last two days... so, would reapply appreciate any help on this...
Yesterday or day before, I was just scrolling through the menus of the phone and decided to do a horizontal calibration (i've never done this since the getting the phone about two months back).
Settings > Display > Horizontal Calibration
And ever since I did the calibration, the screen has been really screwing up with me. Basically, what happens is that, a certain area of the screen gets automatically clicked!! This happens to a specific area of the screen. For example, when I get to the home screen from the app drawer, the widget that I normally have in this area gets clicked on for no apparent reason, and then I have to hit the back key to get back to the home screen. This happens about 5 times and then seems to go away for a while. However, it happens all over again when I use the phone after a little while.

In the attached screen capture of my home screen, I have highlighted the area of the screen where this happens in red. This happens not only from the home screen, but from within any open app as well.... For example, when I view the "my apps" section in the Android Market app, the app that happens to be listed in the above area get automatically selected!!!
I have re-calibrated the screen, re-started the phone and the only thing I've left to do is a hard reset. I'm not too keen on doing this as I don't fancy having to re-install 70+ apps all over again!!
Have any of you guys encountered anything like this ?
Would really really appreciate any help on this as this is really flipping me over!!
Thanks in advance,
Cheers,
anyone......?
cmon, am I da first one on XDA to experience this issue?

[Q] Auto Clicking - Sorted
ah! no replied at all!!!
neways, finally got this sorted by having the screen replaced!! luckily the phone is still under warranty... otherwise it would hav cost me around 250$ to get it done apparently (according to the service center guy who did it)!!
tried hard resetting, data+cache wipe and even flashed with a different ROM (darky's).... but nothing worked.... so, finally took it to the service center... luckily those people didn't notice that the phone has been rooted and all that plus, got a gud rappo with one of the technicians over there, so got it back the next day as well....
cheers.....

Panorama mode when taking pictures with the camera. Does it actually work?

I've tried it multiple times and it'll say it's stitching the pictures but then no image will actually show up in the gallery.
Do panorama shots work for anybody else?
I've had good luck with it. Just click and pan. I really like it.

The white spot in the center is smoke, but this was taken back in the SmurfCam days.
Sometimes it seems to fail, others it works. If it takes more than like 30 secs or so it'll probably fail. I've taken a number of sweet panoramas
Sent from my rooted xt860
Hmmm... It also seems to say "stitching captures" for about 45 seconds and then just returns to the camera app with no hint of a panorama having been saved anywhere.
I got it to work by switching the storage location of photos from SD card to Internal.
It seems to work every time on internal storage and not at all on the SD card.

I take that back.
I decided to move all my pictures and moved everything in the DCIM folder on my sd card to internal storage on the phone and then changed the settings in the camera to use internal storage. Panorama stopped working (it would say "stitching pictures" for 30+ seconds and then nothing would happen).... so I then switched the save location to sd card and it worked!
It seems my phone only likes to take panoramas when I set the camera to save them to a location other than where I take my usual regular single-shot pictures. Weird.
I use this feature extensively & both my still images & panorama are stored on sandisk class 4 sd card never ever it failed but I use samsung i9003

with Google camera app it worse , keep crashing and freeze.
I will take that as a hardware problem for the the reason of no one complain about this as an issue.

I installed Google Camera App and it works fine, good focus when I keep my hand steady (slightly better focused images than the ones I get with the stock camera app), if you have crashing or freezing problems, I suggest you wipe out cache first then try again, if you still have such problems, try to Factory Reset / Wipe Out Data then install again and try (remember to back up your data on the internal memory as Factory Data Reset will wipe out all of it)
I can confirm, there is a problem with the focus and its look like its in my device ( and sound like in other brand new devices). i just got a new S5 Mini G800G/DS and there is no problem with the focus. ( i don't believe that only now i have a normal camera!!! , i got my S5 Mini when it came out in June).
for the record it look like the my new S5 Mini has a newer build # and it come with new preinstalled apps ( like Opera MIni). My OLD S5 Mini was not able to get the new update, keep telling me it up to-date.
Conclusion: if any of you have a problem with a camera it defect in the hardware not the software and i will send it back for replacement or repair.

Artifacts (problems) in stock camera

Hi!
I noticed some randomly appearing flickering artifacts (they have random shape, random position on the screen and can appear once an hour or every second) ONLY while viewing image from rear camera via stock camera app. But they didn't appear on video, which I recorded via screen recording app. So, my Mi A2 (I bought it a week ago) is non-rooted and has locked bootloader. Build number is PKQ1.180904.001.V10.0.2.0.PDIMIFJ (Android 9 Pie). Reboot and factory reset didn't help. Did anyone have something like that? Help me please!
Photos (sorry for bad quality):

It appears in daylight too.
Hi I have the same problem.
I have the android One 4gb global version, (Sweden)
android pie 9.0 V10.0.2.0
Tried rebooting and factory reset.
Reset cache memory in the camera 2.0 app didn't help.
Have tried different camera apps, same problem.
And i noticed when i look at different streaming sites the artifacts patches appear on the video.
I have described the problem in the feedback app.

I don't think this is because of the anti banding. They appears at daylight, but more often at lowlight conditions. And for me they are completely black random shaped things, and they doesn't appear on video, so i think its not the camera's fault. Maybe an update will fix it.

Strange, I'm on stock pie and this doesn't happen to me, try flashing different roms? if all fails I think you should return your phone because this seems like a serious issue

They are rarely appear, and has no affect on videos/pics, so not a very big deal, just annoying sometimes. Im on stock pie too, i haven't tried flashing any different roms, now i'm waiting for the january update, if it does not fix it, i will send it back.
This happening to my Global 4/64 A2 on Pie. BTW, it does not happen with OpenCamera, only with the stock camera app.

Weird issues since updating to Android 10 - troubleshooting assistance needed!

H8314, US-based, Verizon carrier.
Currently on build 52.1.A.0.672.
This problem either started with 52.1.A.0.618, or the previous update where Android 10 was introduced. I'm really not quite sure as it has become an escalating problem, but has certainly been an issue since 618 and has not been resolved by updating to 672 this week. I was kind of sitting on this hoping that the new update would fix my problems, but alas it has not.
So, here are the three things I am experiencing:
1) Drastically reduced battery life (easily halved, if not more) and phone gets very warm if used for longer than 15 minutes
2) Camera quality reduced (lower resolution, grainier)
3) MMS messages sent by iPhone users, most specifically screenshots that they've taken and sent to me, appear completely garbled, as if they have been cropped and reassembled with different pieces on top of each other. Here's a screenshot of the kind of thing that I receive:

I have no clue where to start with this and googling has not been fruitful. I'm really not sure how to describe the iPhone issue, and none of the fixes I've tried have improved the battery life. I have done factory resets and used the Xperia Companion repair service but that's about as far as I've gotten. I would appreciate any assistance or pointers you all could give me!
Thanks.

Not sure about your first 2 issues, but the 3rd issue is something both my and wife's phones do, kind of. She's had her XZ2C H8314 single-SIM on Verizon for maybe 6 months now, ever since she's had it, she's used Google Messages with RCS enabled. Occasionally, both in group and 1-on-1 texts, she'll get a picture message from someone (both iphone and android users) where the picture shows up black/white grainy/almost dot-matrix looking. Same person will picture text again, no issues. It seems random. It happened on Pie as well as on Android 10.
I figured it was her phone, something she'd done, who knows. I just got an XZ2C myself a week ago, single-SIM on Verizon H8314 already updated to Android 10. I'm also using Google Messages with RCS, same thing. Some seemingly-random picture messages show up in black/white and all grainy. Once, in a group text that both her and I were in, 3 pictures were sent by someone. On both our phones, the 1st and 3rd pictures were fine, the 2nd one that was sent was messed up. On both of our phones, the image is never mixed up, it's just black/white dot-matrix looking.
I was going to switch to a different messaging app and see if it happens as it may be Google Messages, RCS, or RCS enabled in GM. But it doesn't happen frequently enough that it's driving me nuts yet. Nobody's complained to her or I about getting messed up picture messages from us, it just seems to be random pictures we receive. See attached photo. This is a group text that both of us are in, looks the same on both our phones. 2 pics from the same person, 1 messed up the other is OK.
I updated from Android 9 to Android 10 .672 and I am experiencing a bug with Whatsapp voice messages: from 10 voice notes I send, one or two will go silent in the middle. I really don't know what to do, I was looking to download the 52.1.A.2.1 software and flash it via flashtool hoping that it would fix the issue, but I cannot find it anywhere, and I wouldn't get it via OTA (I'm using the US customized software)
