Asus ROG Phone 2 Tencent Game version WW should Root or Unroot? - ASUS ROG Phone II Questions & Answers

My Asus ROG Phone 2 is a "Tencent Game" version. I already unlocked the Bootloader and changed the ROM from CN to WW so my device warranty gone already. So should I keep root my ROG Phone 2 or should I keep unrooted. I mean after rooting which extra facilities or which helpful modification I will get? After rooting I deleted some bloatware app like "Armoury Crae", "Netflix", "Facebook", etc but then my phone couldn't reboot after deleting those apps, so I reflash the rom and did not root again. So what I should do with my Unlocked Bootloader phone? Should I keep it rooted or just keep unrooted? If rooted phone can give me some extra advanced feature then please explain me what are those! Please!

well, if you need explanation of what rooting enables you to do... don't root your phone.

If it is very difficult to you to explain then you need not answer the post!

what i wanted to tell you is that if you don't know what rooting does to your phone, then you probably don't need root. or start educating yourself.

But, just in case, I have some Magisk modules. I attached them. And, in addition, is extremely easy to root this phone.

I've flashed both so. Thanks!
And what's your equalizer to listen the steps? More highs than bass?
And when they are cropped? It would be amazing for the last part of the match
Thx mate!

it's the movie preset. uses a lot of compression to bring up the background noise, such as steps in pubg, and brings down the volume of gunfire.

They are adding modules like this in the Magisk TG Channel.
Could someone be useful for us?

Verizon bloatware removal
Hi!
Thanks for your work.
By the way, did you remove all the verizon bloat?
I`m outside the US, so there is no need for me to use it.
SuperSU Update
I installed your rom (thanks!) and SuperSU is saying that I need to update it, but when I try it fails and keeps putting a notification in the notification area. Is there a way to update the binary so it stops doing this?
EDIT: nvm work firewall was the issue.
1.5
I've been reading and trying to follow.. I have a turbo, with 21.44.12
Am I correct to say, that if I follow the root process and just replace the img file with the 1.5 img. I'm good? Is there a walk through? I'd really like to get rid of all the bloatware.
Are there any quirks with the 1.5 version?
root and lolllipop
Sorry if this question is in wrong section. New to this forum/have not re visited in awhile. I have the new phone all set up with my new apps etc. Do I have to wipe to install root with adblock (1.52) or can I just download and go? Also, should I wait until I get OTA Lollipop 5.1 and then see where new updates are? Thanks. (more knowledgeable than most smartphone peops but definitely a green pea compared to you guys!)

The newest flash is great but you removed verizon visual voicemail and I cannot seem to get any version of this apps APK files to install since then. Even at the store.
Can you please let visual voicemail be an allowed app because this is not bloatware to some people, thanks!

@computerfreek274 Thanks for all the hard work, loving my rooted Turbo!! I have always rooted my devices but I have never run adblock. I downloaded and flashed 1.5.2a without issue. Everything seems to be working OK except Pandora Radio. Whenever an Ad should be played it causes app to freeze and force close. Not sure if this is normal for Adblock build. Any help would be awesome!! Thanks in advance.

I thought my Moto Voice not working was an isolated issue so I was about to ask about a potential mistake on my end. I see I'm not the only one and has to do with V4A. I just wanted to share that I'm another one that doesn't have it working.

What are you using root for?

Now that root on X4 is pretty solid it would be nice to see what different people use it for.
Themes? Apps that need root? Magisk modules?
Let's share some tips and tricks!
I have not rooted yet but want to know if there is some interesting customised tips for motox4
For me it was actually needed to remove operator bloatware.
But I found here the (almost) clean EU retail ROM where only Linked-in and Outlook apps are added, so it's perfectly OK for me.
So... no need for root
I reverted back to fully stock but I mainly used it for AdBlock.
i use root for adblock. if i could find a way to write a hosts without rooting id be happy
You guys using ADblock, wouldn't it be the same to use a browser with this feature built-in?
Well, that works if you don't want to block ad banners inside apps.

It's not the same as editing the host file. Many ads still get through.
Another important reason why I need root. Titanium backup.

* No wireless display support (edit built.prop)
* Adblocking( Edit host)
* Audiomods(Viper)
* Xposed modules.
@anas214812, now that's interesting stuff! A couple of questions:
1) is that wireless display mod you refer to able to show the phone content on the TV?
2) about Xposed, do you know if GravityBox works? I'd be interested in a way to set the statusbar clock centrally aligned.
Thanks!

Bro...warranty will be voided permanently...right now there is no way relock the bootloader and most of the banking apps not working for me ?
Ah! Thanks again for the heads-up!
Now I'll think twice before rooting X4, because I use a banking app and actually care about product warranty.

On my old Moto PE, I had no issues with unlocked bootloader and Magisk for Adroid Pay or any banking apps. Are you finding differently with Moto X4 or are you not hiding root with Magisk? Does safetynet checks pass in Magisk?

When I install magisk safety net was pass and after installing xposed and its framework.zip file from magisk then safetynet failed.
But even without installing magisk just because of bootloader unlocking my banking apps won't work. Even with safetynet pass(but Google pay worked).

Viper4android on Note 9 (snapdragon) without root?

Hi everyone,
I just switched from my old good Galaxy S7 to a brand new Note 9 (snapdragon, couldn't find an exynos variant on my country)
and so far i'm loving it, the software (aside from the usual bloatware) has been excelent and nothing seems to be missing for me right now, EXCEPT for some decent quality audio.
I'm used to use mid-high tier headphones and all I can say is samsung is still giving us pretty much no control over the sound quality.
Now to the point of this post, I know there is a way to install viper4android by just changing the kernel to permissive (idk if this still works). I don't want to void my warranty by tripping knox this time, and up to this moment there is no reason for me to root my device except for the sound mod.
Does anyone know how to install viper4android without root?
Does anyone know how to change the kernel to permissive without tripping knox?
Does anyone know if there is or is in development a way to root without tripping knox?
Thanks for reading

what are the pros and cons (if any) of Magisk over SuperSU ? i apologize if this is

i searched for some info but couldn't find any at a glance so perhaps I will just ask you guys. I apologize if this is a FAQ and i just missed it. i have supersu. i wonder if i should move to Magisk ?
1. what are the pros of Magisk
2. any downsides of Magisk ?
3. is there any tutorial for converting from SuperSU to Magisk ? i managed to get TWRP and SuperSU because someone else did it on my phone. that person is no longer be able to help. different country different timezone. not a friend either. it was a paid service done in Hongkong where and when I bought the phone.
again I apologize if this is a FAQ. I'm a noob. I hope you guys can point me in the right direction. I just want to set this phone right from the get go. it's a virgin phone. haven't install anything yet. well i install Titanium Backup just to make sure root is working. 99% virgin i guess. thank you for any help and pointers

Possibly not compatible with as many devices as SuperSU was.

I can only suggest to uninstall v4a and reinstall as mentioned in the installation procedure. It should work if you have done that properly.
