General Accessories Thread (Recommendations Requested)! - LG V60 ThinQ Accessories

So I'm kind of surprised that we haven't seen some form of this topic pop up yet. I'm guessing this phone is bombing more than the usual LG flagship. Shame...
But I'm wondering what the best cases, tempered glass screen protectors, and wireless charger pads/stands folks out there are using for their new V60s.
I know that as far as cases and glass screen protectors, pickings are still slim.
But surely there are some quality high-speed wireless charging solutions out there that can make the most out of whatever is built in to the V60, no?
Recommendations with links are most appreciated. Also, FWIW, the links I provide are for convenience only. I am not an Amazon affiliate and do not stand to make any money at all from any purchases anyone makes by clicking those links. Just wanted to get that disclaimer out of the way. I'm also not promoting or shilling for these products, as one I linked to has yet to arrive, and the other has but I've yet to use it.
For now, I'm using the following:
Case 1: Some clear plastic supposedly non-yellowing case that came free with my AT&T online order. I don't have a link handy for it, apologies. It does the job, for now.
Case 2: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0867BMFQ9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
DAMONDY LG V60 ThinQ Case, LG V60 Case,Slim TPU Cover Thin Flexible Bumper Carbon Fiber Lightweight Protective Phone Cases for LG V60 ThinQ -Black
This one has been ordered and supposedly shipped, but hasn't arrived yet. I cannot vouch for it. Order page says it should arrive between May 13 - May 23, but tracking suggests it arrived at the local USPS hub, so I should probably get it at some point next week.
Update! This case arrived on Monday and I definitely prefer it to the freebie clear case I got from AT&T with my order. Not much to say other than it looks decent, feels good, the buttons work well, and while it does wrap around a bit in the front, it doesn't push up against my glass screen protector, so there's no potential for dislodgement. It does the job.

[3-Pack] WRJ Screen Protector for LG V60 ThinQ 5G (Not for The LG Dual Screen),HD Anti-Scratch Anti-Fingerprint No-Bubble 9H Hardness Tempered Glass for LG V60 ThinQ/G9 ThinQ
Ordered and arrived, but I haven't applied it yet. I'll be doing so later tonight and can chime in with my experience if there's a demand. I've heard that if you have fingerprint unlock enabled, some glass protectors will mess up and cause your device to not recognize your fingerprint(s). The recommended solution is to delete all fingerprint biometric data, apply the screen protector, then redo your fingerprint(s) setup.
Update! So this is a three-pack. I just finished applying one to my phone, and a second one onto the dual-screen accessory I'm no longer using. Basic screen protector application rules apply. Clean the surface you'll be working on of dust. Clean your hands thoroughly to minimize skin oil. Maybe hit up the website's application instruction video. Wipe down the phone's screen with the included wet wipe. Then dry it off with the also included dry wipe. Peel off the screen protector's plastic covering with the protector held face down, carefully align, place, and use your fingers to squeak any bubbles out. The fit is decent enough. It doesn't provide 100% coverage, but I wouldn't want it to, otherwise any case with even a little wrap-around would push against the edge of the glass and potentially dislodge it from the screen. It COULD provide a bit more coverage, but I'd rather a bit less than a bit more, in this case. I forgot to delete my fingerprint biometrics, and can confirm that none of my prints were recognized through the glass protector. I had to use the pattern unlock, delete the fingerprints, set them back up, and then redo the biometrics on specific apps that utilize them. Bit of a hassle, but worth it for the peace of mind, I suppose.

I actually have two of these, one at home, and one at the office that I haven't been able to use for two months because, you know, working from home. I bought them for the V30, and they work fine on the V60 as well, even through both the AT&T freebie case I mentioned above, and surprisingly through the thicker dual-screen accessory case as well. I guess I'm just wondering if the V60 has better wireless charging capabilities built-in, and if I should be looking at newer wireless charging solutions to better optimize my wireless charging experience.
Cheers! I wanted to make a thread requesting recommendations, but not without providing SOME feedback about my own experiences (so far) as well. I will update this post once I finish applying the new screen protector (and redoing my biometrics), and once the new case arrives. Edit - Screen protector applied. Relevant part of post updated. Edit 2 - Case arrived and post updated.

It says it's not for the dual screen. Can you confirm whether the dual screen will close with protectors on both sides

I'm curious if you were able to put a protector on both screens and if it causes any problems

Updated my original post again now that the new case has arrived and I've been using it for a while.

No issues whatsoever closing the dual-screen case with the same tempered glass screen protector applied to both screens.
I have no idea why it says it's not meant for the dual-screen.
That said, the very nature of the dual-screen's case and the way it closes and protects both screens probably makes it safe to eschew screen protectors entirely.
But for my part, better safe than sorry!
Pro-tip: Have the second screen powered up before applying so that you can see the second screen's fake notch (which mirrors the one on the phone despite the second screen not having a camera there) in order to better line up the screen protector before applying.

Is there a dual screen case? I got this phone to game on while I have my Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G as a daily. Does it even need a case if I have it in the dual screen the whole time?

The dual-screen accessory comes built-into a folio-style case.
When closed, both screens face each other and you can't access either.
When open, the two screens are side-by-side (or one on top of the other, if in landscape orientation).
The case itself comes with a small outer screen that will show the time, date, and icons for notifications.

I haven't tried, but I don't think it's a touchscreen at all and I'm no longer using the accessory. Hopefully someone else can chime in.

No you cannot interact with it at all

This is the case I got and really like it when not using the dual screen.

This is the full review I wrote for it:
I bought this case to hold me over until my dual screen case arrived, so I wasn't expecting anything spectacular. I was rather surprised at just how well this case works! It fits the V60 perfectly, feels nice in the hand (it actually allows for a more secure grip on the phone), and good face down protection. The textured sides are a nice touch, adding to the secure grip aspect of the case. The back of the case is smooth and just tacky enough to not be slippery while also letting your fingers slide around when adjusting your grip.
If I had to nitpick, there's only two small points of notice (I wouldn't even call them a problem). One is all the product listing images show this as a smooth back design. The inside of the case back is textured with tiny dots. I'm not sure the purpose of these, but it makes for something like a matte look when viewing from a distance. The other is the volume button is a single exterior mold with no tactile separation between the volume up and down buttons. This doesn't seem to cause unexpected button presses, as the inside is molded better, but may be something to get use to. Both of these points are not worth docking a star for and are more aesthetic than functional concerns.

This is a missed opportunity by LG. They could have used a cheap LCD screen for the outer screen.
I think I might pass on this device.

Oh, that outer screen is already low-resolution and cheap.
It's just cheaper than you thought/hoped!

I wound up buying this as my third case (fourth if you include the case that comes built into the dual-screen accessory). I legit like it better than the cheap-looking and cheap-feeling clear screen protector that I got for free with my AT&T order, and the black DAMONDY TPU case I ordered from Amazon and posted about above. So thank you for the recommendation! I just hope it doesn't yellow like so many other clear screens tend to. And I agree about the dot-matrixy look to the back of the case. It's my one complaint as well. I wish it was 100% clear. I also don't understand the point of the matte-like texture that marrs the look of the back of the case. It should be clean and clear, but it isn't. And it's clearly a feature, not a flaw. It's perfectly uniform.

I don't own a separate camera, and I'd have to go through the hassle of setting up my LG V30+ (which I factory reset before I stored it away).
And until Corporate ends our work-from-home policy, I won't have easy access to another phone to take pictures with. Sorry!

I can't confirm anything over the long-term, since I stopped using the dual-screen accessory due to the many compromises using it requires.
But I did apply the same screen protector to both screens and opened and closed the case a few times and didn't notice any issues or potential for issues at the time.

Can confirm this wireless charger does work with the v60 and the dual screen installed: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07X32ZLM5/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Had this one laying around and it also works, albeit slowly. Would be good for charging overnight if you like using your phone as an alarm clock. You also have to put the phone on the charger sideways. works with the dual screen installed :https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Wireless-Charging-Convertible-EP-PG950/dp/B077712WKG

Screen protector clarification
Has anyone else bought the same tempered glass screen protector Mejilan mentioned and can you confirm both of the following?:
1.) The dual screen case closes with the screen protector applied on the main screen but not on the second screen
2.) The dual screen case closes completely with the screen protector applied on both the main and the second screen
If you have purchased a different screen protector, feel free to answer both questions and provide other quality indicators (and a brand / model and / or link).
Thanks very much.

[Review] Zerolemon Ultra Glass Armor 9H | Post All Reviews Here!!!

I have been asked by @ZEROLEMON_OFFICIAL to start a thread for the purpose of posting reviews of their Ultra Glass Armor 9H tempered glass screen protectors for the HTC M8.
***DO NOT START A SEPARATE THREAD FOR THE PURPOSE OF WRITING YOUR OWN REVIEW. ALL REVIEWS OF THIS PRODUCT SHOULD GO IN THIS THREAD ONLY. ALL OTHERS WILL BE REMOVED BY THE MODERATION TEAM***
My review is as follows:
I received my tempered glass screen protector in the mail the other day. Everything was neatly packaged and included everything to install the screen protector. The wording of the instructions on how to install the screen protector was a bit confusing, but I've used a screen protector before so I knew how to install one. The only real issue I had was getting the protective film off the sticky side of the screen protector itself. The pull tab-style sticker came right off but the film itself remained, so I had to use a fingernail to pick at the edge of the film and then finally remove it. The screen protector went right on and looks great. I've only noticed a couple of issues, those being the screen protector seems to have a bit more glare than the actual screen of the phone, but I didn't find this to be an issue when viewing the phone in various lighting conditions. Also, it does seem to pick up dust fairly quickly. Overall, for the price you'd pay at an online store like Amazon, I don't think you'll find a better value tempered glass screen protector. Pick one up for yourself and see:good:
Amazon currently has them for $8.99.

Thanks for your feedback. The pull tab-style sticker should be able to stick on the film so the film will be easy to peel off. Maybe you are just unlucky, sorry. Below is the revised version of instruction which will be applied to the new batch.
1.Please wipe off all fingerprints and oil stains from the screen with the included alcohol swab. Wipe the screen with the included microfiber cloth for drying.
2.Place phone on flat surface with screen facing up. Peel the first plastic adhesive off and align the screen protector edge with the phone's edge.
3.Gently place the screen protector on the screen. The screen protector will automatically adhere to the surface of the screen.
4. If there are bubbles between the screen protector and the phone, please use a flat card to gently push out the bubbles to the edge of the phone.
5. Installation complete.
Those instructions are much better:good:
OMG INCREDIBLE!! Of all the shields I have had, this is surely my last from anyone. I am sticking to Zerolemon from now on. My other shields was fingerprint magnets, not this one. Easy to put on, and thinner than any other shield. Here is my 5 Star review from Amazon:
""I got the shield today, it was a snap to install. Thinner than my Chinese shield, and surprisingly almost fingerprint proof. The one thing I hated about my last shield was it attracted all my fingerprints. I always was cleaning it. But this one doesn't seem to even know my fingers even touched it. I can see the prints after heavy use, but so easy to clean, and barely visible, it is remarkable. This has got to be the best shield out there. And I have had one on all my phones. But now, this is probably going to be the only one I will have in the future. It's like touching the glass without any shield. Only con is that it seems to attract dust. But given that it is so invisible to the sight and touch a little POOF and no dust at all, I think it is static, because it is new, and will soon wear off. But if you need a shield, heck, YOU DO NEED A SHIELD!! This is the one to buy...""
This has attracted my attention. It is the best one I have ever had on any of my phones. (Now if you can make those camera lens covers from this material, I would be extremely happy)
I received mine on Saturday. Beautiful packaging. The instructions where a bit on the small side, but its pretty self explanatory. The application went well enough, but keep in mind that this glass seems to be cut exactly the same size as the glass on the M8. So when you start to apply it make sure it starts exactly where it does on the phone. If you are even a little pulled away from the start of the glass on the opposite side of the glass it wont stick down because it will be slightly on the speaker grill. After getting that straightened out it looks incredible. For the price you cant go wrong.
Anyone who knows how to take care of a phone knows you need a screen protector.
Scratch proof glass just isn't after enough time has passed. But there's a reason manufacturers stick with glass for screens. It's tactile, your finger glides over it with silky precision. It gives the phone a solid and dependable touch to it. A solid reassurance. Most importantly, glass gives the best transmission of light from the underlying pixels so it makes the display look vibrant.
Then you have to slap some cheap plastic on top of it, This was far easy to apply to the phone. The glass and the phone join together like magic, after you have aliened it over the phone the two bond together, the Best part is there isn't a bubble beneath it, which I can't stand in plastic screens.
This is a revolutionary product. I love it. There are only a few cons to having this is an ever so slight increase in thickness in your phone. Plastic screen protectors are negligibly thick but glass has to be a bit thicker to be effective. Personally, I like the added thickness, modern phones are, to me, increasingly flimsy feeling. This gives it a bit more substance (My case still fits without issues as-well). I have also found 2 out of 4 corners are a little sharp and could of been slightly more rounded.
Overall this is one amazing screen protector and I look forward to showing it off on my phone.
How many taken part in this thread actually paid for theirs? Given that ZeroLemon were offering free units in return for reviews. It's hard to determine genuine positives from this thread. Has anyone compared this product to the others such as Nillkin (arguably best tempered screen protector), Mime, Zagg etc.

I have had the Nilkin on my M8, saved the screen when it fell on the floor when I was in the doctors office. But it was thicker, and always showed my fingerprints. This screen (Even though I didn't pay for it) is the best I have had. I have had tempered glass on my screens for a couple years, almost always the cheap ones from China that takes 6+ weeks to get here. This one is local and cost is similar, would I have bought it? I don't normally shop Amazon, so unless it was on eBay I probably would not, unless I seen it on someones device, or at least heard good news about it. I didn't even know that the glass resist fingerprints. Would I but another? Yep... I have already showed it to a friend, and she is going to get her M8 this weekend and order this shield. Because it is a lot better than the one on her M7. So even though you might think that the review is biased because it was free, it isn't. It is a good shield and not bad on the price either.... :good:
I got mine in the mail today.
1. It is awesome. It covers the entire glass portion of the front of the phone. Not just the active LCD area.
2. It is extremely smooth. This makes it feel as if it is not there.
3. It's oleophobic coating is superb. Haven't seen a single finger print.
4. It is extremely clear, I cannot tell it is there.
5. I have it paired with the Otter box symmetry case and feel as if my phone has the ultimate protection.
6. The only draw back was during the installation I kept getting a raised corner. This was because Tue glass is cut to very small tolerances and matches the M8's screen perfectly. I had to slow down and focus on what I was doing.
All in all I am pretty happy with it and will be buying a second one to keep as a backup. I see this protector lasting the life of phone and keeping the resale value in since the screen will be in perfect condition whenever it is peeled off.

I understand your concern. We are sending free samples in exchange for an honest review. We do not send samples to everyone, only legit users. You guys are welcome to compare our screen protector with other brands.
I have received my tempered glass protector from Zerolemon. Before I start I'll say that it was sent for review on condition that I review it. They told me to make an honest review, and never set any guidelines which leaves me to do and say whatever I'd like. I am in no way obliged to give a good review as they have nothing on me and have not told me otherwise.
The protector arrived in excellent, eco-friendly packaging that was simplistic yet effective in explaining what the product is and how to install it. Right away I could tell that the glass protector was of good quality and not simply a Chinese knock-off. I have used dozens of protectors including Spigen's $40.00 Nano slim, and this is comparable, if not better given the price.
The protector installed without a hassle, and aligned IDENTICALLY with my screen. The cut-out is perfect unlike other protectors, and offers maximum coverage with no exposed areas of the screen.
Included in the package are an anti-bacterial wipe and cloth to make sure you screen is very clean before installation. Once done, you take off the back film from the glass protector and simply let it adhere to the screen of your M8.
Again, this review was is in no way dictated by ZeroLemon, and I could of written anything I wanted. In fact, I already had another tempered glass protector installed so I didn't even need a 'free sample'.
I give this product a 10/10 simply because it's of top quality, and for the price, you cannot beat it.
I have recently received an ultra glass 9h tempered glass screen protector from zerolemon about a week ago. Upon first glance the packaging is well put together with the screen protector placed securely inside. The packaging comes with the tempered glass protector, a microfiber cloth, and an alcohol wipe to clean the screen off. The directions can be kind of confusing if you have never applied a screen protector or a glass screen protector before as they seem to be worded weird. If you apply to protector properly it looks extremely nice and feels as if there were no protector on it. The one thing I do not like about this glass protector is that it is a little on the thick side. With a case on the phone thou you don’t really notice how thick it is, but I do not use a case so I can feel the thickness of the protector. Without the case I need to be more careful when I put it and pull it out of my pocket to make sure that it doesn’t peel off or catch on the inside of my pocket. I have also noticed that this protector can have a little bit of glare in direct sunlight or light unlike the screen with no protector on it but it’s not that bad. All in all this a fantastic screen protector and for $8.99 you can’t really beat the price for any other screen protector, especially a glass protector. I would recommend this protector to anyone who wants to get a glass protector and give it shot!

Ok, i was normally running naked since i've had my m8 and got a .10 cent chine film screen protector for a while but it fell off on one of my trips to the beach. I contacted zerolemon to inquire upon the free product.
Fast forward a week and i got it 3 days ago. Putting it on was a snap, its very precise with its cuts. My crappy chinese case was very close to not fitting but it did with a little adjusting.
Now yesterday at santa cruz my girlfriend put our phones on trunk lid area while we grabbed our stuff. She grabbed her phone and we started closing the lid and foolishly we slammed the trunk 2 times. i eventually notices my phone and immediately freaked out, but fortunately the only cracks was 3 in diff areas, and my actual screen was unharmed. If it wasn't for this product i would have a cracked phone right now and im still rocking my slightly cracked glass armor until i order a new one soon.
I'm giving this screen 10/10 across everything just for saving my ass. I highly reccomend this screen
Now that is a test I don't want to try. LoL

Just place cards, not really phony. If you wanted to test it out free, then you need to review it, good or bad. But so we was ask to post a temp review on there till we get the screen and check it out. Once it is checked out, the tester can go back and edit his review to show what he/she feels about it.

Unbelievable. A "temp" review? Why not let people review the item after they actually use it, instead of telling people to leave 5 star reviews for an item they don't even have yet?

Tempered Glass

I am looking for a screen protector for my BN Turbo. I would prefer a tempered glass solution but am willing to explore other options. Does anyone have one or can offer suggestions for one? Thanks

When I bought my turbo in October or November, I also bought the "flexible glass screen protector for droid turbo" at the Verizon store. It is a little pricey at about $25, but I really like it. They had to order it for me and it was delivered straight to me.
For what it cost, I took it to them and had one of their employees put the screen on for me. I think he did a pretty nice job of it. I have no complaints, other than the high price. ?
As far as I can tell, it has no scratches on it, but, I try not to treat it rough. Also, it is very hard to see any smudges, etc that I get on it.
It did take me a little while to get used to its edges. If you swipe from the very edge of the phone, you can feel the edge. It kind of catches your finger. I have had no problems using it. At the same time I also bought the "Speck" case from them. I like it as well, but, it is also pricey.
Before this, I always used their belt clip. I do miss that, and, "may" one of these days replace the Speck with it. But, I think the glass screen is so much better than the plastic ones.
I would buy the glass screen again. (my opinion only)

I just received this one today.
Its not bad for the price.
I was just going to start a thread with the glass screen protectors that I've tried and whether it works or not. but just an fyi, I've used the ez guardz, they admitted to their current model having a design flaw; the edges of the screen protector doesn't adhere. Also the Ghostek I just received today has the same issue. There's one more I'm looking at on eBay and I'm going to stay away from the "flexible screen protectors" as those are the ones made by tech21 and I don't like the feel of them.
Sorry. Wrong thread.

Thanks for the info. I have read the same thing on most of the screen protector Amazon reviews. Everything from improper fit, to breakage, yellowing, dimples & valleys......
I have considered this non-tempered protector: http://www.amazon.com/Skinomi®-Tech...421509415&sr=8-1&keywords=skinomi+droid+turbo Does anyone have any experience with these?
I also sent an email to MIMEUSA because they show link for Turbo products on their site but when clicking on it nothing happens. I will post updates as soon as I hear anything from them

Looks like film, I have their screen protector for my moto 360, first batch was over sized, they then sent me the replacements which were a lot better. I may end up going with tempered glass as well for to 360 but at the time none were available but the film ones, except the Spigen which chipped. I'm not too confident with the ones that are available now.

I know that it's a film protector & not tempered glass. I was wondering if anyone had any luck with it. I was also looking at the iVoler tempered glass sold on Amazon
The iVoler is great, with a few minor caveats:
• Follow instructions to the letter, making sure the screen is immaculately clean. Also, wear rubber gloves if possible. Even a minor trace of skin oils will result in spots that refuse to adhere, so be super careful.
• This particular item ships from Shengzhen, China, and takes about three weeks. Order a spare while you're ordering and waiting so ridiculously long for the item to arrive.
Aside from that, it seems to be just the ticket... It's coated, so it feels slick, stays clean and doesn't show fingerprints.
This company finally has one out, I have it on order today.

reporting back from my last purchase.
Tried this TEMPERED GLASS Screen Protector - Slim 0.33mm Super Hardness - Crystal Clear by COVRWARE - picked it up from amazon for $9.97
The glass itself is nice. It feels like the naked screen. It's a 9H and oleophobic. Unforunately the edge adhesive halos. It's cut slightly short of the edges to in an attempt to deal with the 2.5D screen edges.
you don't notice when the screen is on, but yeah it's not a edge to edge performing adhesive. so i've left it on, as i look for a better screen protector.
i'd love to see how that mime screen protector does.

Let me know if the edges stick that's really the only issue with most of them on the market right now. I don't even want to show my phone to others because of the parts of the screen protector that doesn't adhere. Waiting on a replacement for my ghostek, if that's the same then I'm off to trying a different one.
The edges on mine are all good, with the exception of two spots where my fingers made contact with the adhesive. My hands were clean and dry, but it apparently doesn't take much to impact the performance of the adhesive. I'd recommend wearing rubber gloves during application... Other than that, it's a great fit, and covers only the flat (non-rounded) surface of the screen.
Ok got the MIME today, typical package and install. Goes on good does not go the the edge but about like the xtreme one I had installed. This one sticks so far and feels way better slickness wise than the xtreme.

Interesting there's no cut out for the proximity sensor. Have you had any issues during phone calls? Make a phone call, and hold the phone away from your face. Does the screen still go on?

Is there ANY tempered glass screen protector that's great with Note 5??

Ok, I've looked through forums, threads here and there, Amazon, manufacturer sites, web searches... and my takeaway is that glass protectors for the Note 5 are a problem... in particular the protectors don't fully cover the screen (just the flatter part) and there are halo effects. The non-curvature issue can also cause dust to accumulate, apparently, by getting into the edges.
Is there, in fact, ANY really great tempered glass screen protector that does the job?? One that fully fits the curves along of the Note 5's screen, has non-sharp edges, and isn't a headache to install or otherwise deal with? I see the same type complaints whether the glass protector is inexpensive or at the high-price end.
I have a new Note 5 arriving next week, and I'd love to know which are the top choices. Or, because of the curved screen, front side, is this just a holy grail search never to be reached?
My guess is that once manufacturer's continue to get feedback they will fix the issue, but it will take time and feedback from consumers. The device is fairly new so I would say in about another month or so the issues Should, or so I would hope, be ironed out. If you cannot wait, I would suggest getting a case with a built in screen protector. Give Artech21 a jingle, they have a case with a built in screen protector, and I believe they are still looking for testers for their cases. I am going to be receiving mine whenever they ship. At the moment it seems like September 30th, at least according to Amazon, but I hope to get one sooner than later.
Either way, a decent case and being careful will go far to help deal with your screen until, either manufacturers fix the issues, or you can get a case with a built in screen protector.
I bought the tempered glass screen protector at the T-Mobile store. Forget the brand, but came in a big green box, with a roller and bed like thing to put the phone in, and apply it dummy proof easy. It is on clear and zero bubbles, and can barely even see the protector whatsoever.
Skinomi.com is where I purchased mine. Absolutely perfect for my Tab S so I made the purchase for the Note. Also perfect in every way! I paid around 7 bucks through ebay

This is the screen protector your talking about http://www.pure-gear.com/shop-by-de...oll-on-kit-biodegradable-samsung-devices.html, Also cheaper direct through manufacturer by about $15. At any rate it looks like a good screen protector and very easy to apply. I may give it a shot once I get my device sorted out.
The Zagg glass from Verizon is a perfect fit, but if you have to be insanely accurate. If you are, the results are amazing. I read on another thread that version Best Buy carries does not fit well so I went straight to Verizon. Yes it's pricey but worth it. I'm used to staying under $15 for a glass one for my last few purchases. I purchased 2 backups (different manufacturers) for $3 total from Amazon with coupon codes, but it's good to know I won't need them. Let me know if you need pictures.
edit: For the most part, halos are causes by wrong cuts or if you are off by a hair in either direction. If applied correctly with the right brand, it should cover 100% of the flat area before the curve.
Thanks!
Pictures would be great!
Also... thanks everyone for the input so far! For the above-mentioned glass protectors, do they cover the curved part of the screen in a form-fitting way?
In the meanwhile, I've ordered from Amazon a couple of glass screen protectors as an inexpensive first step solution awaiting products that subsequently come out that may take advantage of user stories/input. The two are: (1) IVSO with lifetime warranty and (2) YooTech with lifetime warranty.
I also ordered three Note 5 cases from Amazon to try: (1) Spigen Air Cushion Slim Armor Case, Champagne Gold, model SGP11687; (2) Spigen Neo Hybrid Carbon Case, Gunmetal, model SGP11689; and (3) Urban Armor Gear Case, Black.
Unless I have totally overlooked it, you won't find a protector that covers the curve in a glass form. It wouldn't be physically possible since the glass protectors do not have any bend/give at the ends to cover the edges of the screen.
Looks to be possible
I wonder what might be the engineering reason for not producing a curved tempered glass screen protector. Cost perhaps? For example the screen itself is curved, why can't the protector be formed (molded in a sense) to mate to that? Search on "curved tempered glass" and you'll see that it is possible to create curved tempered glass.
Also, look up: "Cinder .2 mm Gorilla Glass Screen Protector for iPhone 6/6+" on YouTube (I'm new to XDA, can't post links yet!). This protector IS curved on the edges to follow the form of the phone. I'd love to see this for Note 5!
The Cinder is from Cupert. Check out Cupert (period) com.

Mixed reviews + hope for the future
For all of the above-mentioned glass screen protectors, when I look at their Amazon ratings, I see overall a mixed set of reviews, primarily around halo issues and the screen not fitting enough of the Note 5's glass, and with some users having complaints about installation. My conclusions so far: that this represents what's currently on the market. However, presumably there's hope for a better product, e.g., a Gorilla Glass thin, sleek glass protector that curves to edges and fully form fits the entire screen, as is the case with the Cinder product made for the iPhone (in which instance the holy grail seems to have been found). We now know that this appears to be possible for a large curved device (see the Cinder references/web site I mentioned above).
My hunch is that a fully form-fitting glass protector would also provide better shock protection for the screen versus one that doesn't fully mate to the screen, curves and all.

Can you confirm if it's actually glass? I was going to buy it (not from tmobile, $40 is robbery) but the "flexible" part is what threw me off. How can a tempered glass SP be flexible? The mfg website states that it's made of Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET).

Review: Dendrobates Note 8 case friendly screen protector

Hi all, I've been after a decent screen protector for my Note 8 and came across a now closed thread on here asking for reviewers to receive a free one for testing. Unfortunately, I live in the UK so the free option was not available to me. As the reviews on Amazon.com seemed good I thought I'd try my luck. This is the protector:
https://www.amazon.com/Protector-Friendly-Dendrobates-Installation-Coverage/dp/B076PRGQKM
Installation: this was a little bit tricky compared to a TGSP, as the film is much more flexible, it's very similar to the Brotect ones but actually covers most of the edges of the screen. The guide which fits into the USB port is a great idea as it ensures the correct alignment of the protector. Just take your time and push out any bubbles with the supplied squeegee. I did have a small issue when taking off the top protective layer as the adhesive used is very strong, this meant that the actual protector came away from the screen. Fortunately, the protector did not move and was easily refitted without any issues.
The protector fits very well with a small border that is not covered to allow use with a case. I've tried fitment with both the Ringke Onyx and Spigen Ultra Hybrid and both fit perfectly with no lifting of the protector.
Overall I'm very pleased with the protector and find it has a nice feel to it. It's more like a very thin glass and has a hard to the touch surface so works well with the stylus. The one thing I'd change is the left and right edges of the protector have a very fine black border, this would be fine if the protector was full coverage. As the protector is case friendly this border is on the actual screen, though this has not been an issue for me when using with a case as the edges are slightly obscured anyway.
I'll add photos when I get chance tomorrow.
dendrobates screen protector
waiting to see it
Oh the shill that got banned is back ^
I actually REALLY like the Dendrobates screen protector for the S8+. At least the second version it. It's still on my S8+ as a matter of fact.
However the Dendrobates for the Note8 was very disappointing. It would not stick down on the right side. Used up both screen protectors trying to make it work. Dendrobates refunded me.
Dissapointing service from them, i would avoid.
Their previous thread on XDA got blocked and OP seems to be one of them trying to promote their own stuff again...

I'm not trying to promote anything. I'm just trying to share a good experience that I've had following several attempts to find a decent screen protector for the Note 8. Still going well, not had chance to take any photos yet, will try to over Xmas.

Tempered glass and cases

Has anyone found a pretty decent case/tempered glass for this device as of yet (Any budget)
Pictures are awesome if provided, would love to see what our community had found so far. (I can't seem to find one that fully seals the entire screen instead or simply the edges)
All tempered screen protectors that have come out so far appear to completely suck. They've all been the type with only a thin strip of adhesive along the edges, thus making them come off really easily. I sincerely hope a good one comes out soon. If one doesn't in the next month or so, I might just get one of the crappy ones, but purchase the overpriced ($30-40) version from the T-Mobile store. They will replace it for free everytime you come in. This would definitely save money and frustration in the long run over repeatedly purchasing the cheaper ones.
I ordered the Ringke Fusion-X case, but they only became available a day ago, so it only arrived today. I'll update with a short review when I get home from work. I've had one for another device, though, and really liked it. In the mean time, I've been using this $5 clear TPU case, which is exactly what one would expect if they've ever had one before. I will note that the buttons are a bit difficult to press, but otherwise it's perfectly fine. I chose this one over the other similar ones because of the slightly thicker bumpers on the corners.
I'm debating getting one of the Otterbox cases, but I'd really like to see one in person first, so that I can evaluate the bulkiness of it before dropping $60. I've always used/preferred lighter-weight cases, but then again I've never before had a $930 phone.
Update: I initially forgot to report back with my Ringke Fusion-X mini- review. It is a phenomenal case. It looks very good, and being able to see the back of the phone through the 100% clear back is nice. The somewhat thick rubbery-ish edges offer a great deal of protection without excessive bulk. If my previous experiences with similarly styled Ringke cases are and indicator, it will greatly increase the chances that drops will damage the phone. It also feels very great in the hand, and provides very good grip. Also, the buttons feel VERY good, even to the point of being nicer to press that the phone's buttons are without a case at all.
Although it would certainly be even more protective, it's unlikely I will end up ordering the Otterbox, as I feel confident the Ringke will adequately protect my phone given my usual degree of phone violence.
I can't speak to screen protectors but I had picked up the Spigen Rugged Armor case and it is excellent.
All of the screen protectors have been garbage thus far. As mentioned, you either get stuck with the black ring around the edges, thus losing screen space or bubbles because they dont adhere to the curved edges. Tried two brands and bot were a waste.
The cases all seem to be more or less the same. At least the TPU ones anyways. Tons for $5-10 and no major advantages I can see. Otterbox says no screen protector so you enjoy the display more. Code for we dont wanna make one that works well. YMMV though.
I've read that the one T-Mobile sells is pretty decent (if expensive). The reddit user who posted about it said hr believed it had the full adhesive, rather than just around the edges like the others I've seen, so that should help it not come off as easily. I'm probably going to get one today if they have them in stock. Also, a nice thing about getting one from them, which may justify the price, is that they will replace it for free whenever necessary.
This is the model.

Unfortunately they did not have it in stock, so I had to order it for delivery. I will report back within the week (presumably), after I receive it. Pics, too, hopefully.
While I'm waiting for "IQ Shield LiQuidSkin" I ordered "PULEN Screen Protector"... I'll keep you updated!
I'm having a very hard time finding anything decent that seals completely with any rainbow effect going on

Which one? There are two, one with the black border and one without. I ordered both but have only tried the one with the black border. Fit was nice but touch sensitivity sucks. Didn't seem like it adhered well. Had rainbow affect in the middle.
If anyone finds a glass protector without the stupid notch and covers the camera lenses please post here. I want full coverage like my V10 had. Didn't seem to affect the cameras at all. I want one that just has a hole for the speaker. A rear cover and camera lens protection would be nice as well.
