A seaside view photo turned out to be a green blob of a photo as if I'd taken it thro - Honor 10 Lite Questions & Answers

So I take a photo of 5PM blue sky, Seaview, and I've attached it. Can anybody advise what I'm doing wrong? I'm from the world of Samsung and never had any trouble with their phone cameras. This Honor 10 is a bit more difficult. Many thanks. Dave Glass. Oops, no way of attaching the photo. So to explain, it came out totally green. You could sort of pick out the horizon and a very dark lighthouse but it was all just bottle green.

Tytn 2 Panoramic Shots Inside

Just thought I would post a few photos using the 3mp panoramic feature, you may notice that some pics are slightly overlapped, couldn't help it as it was very windy and very cold and difficult to hold the phone steady
Photos were taken today in South Wales UK in the Brecon Beacons
Cut the size down a bit as they were huge.

Great place to visit and a nice 40min walk to the summit, on a nice sunny day the views are amazing
Here is some info on the place.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brecon_Beacons
Here is their main site.
http://www.breconbeacons.org/
Is it me or is there a greenish vertical stripe about a third of the way in on all those photos (+maybe another one 2/3rds of the way in)? How many shots were in the panorama?
Last time I was in the Brecon Beacons I had a 60 pound backpack on a 20 mile run They obviously look better when you're only carrying a camera and a sandwich bag
Great photos
Those are some really good shots!
Was there a lot of motion with the cloudcover or where they pretty steady?
They were steady.
I can't find the registries to enable 3MP in panorama mode, some help please?

I see them. Vertical bands where the picture is slightly darker, with a greenish hue. They aren't spaced exactly at 1/2, 2/3. But it must have something to do with the stitching.

Use KaiserTweak ! There are two registry values to edit...
Thanks for the suggestion but actually I wanted to keep my other registry settings so I didn't use the KaiserTweak. Anyway, I've figured out the registry settings and did the following changes:
HKLM\Software\HTC\Camera\P6\
Changing the DWORD value of MainCamCaptSize from 64 to 1024 and MainCamSupportCaptSize from 80 to 1748.
Is there a way to darken the part of the screen that is frozen in place to line up the 2/3 and 3/3 shots? I suck something awful at lining up the panorama shots.

Screen suddenly broken... or software??

All was fine and dandy on PA 0.5
Then I got my phone out of my pocket and I see a stuck blue pixel, with a gray line on the right of it.
WTF?
Then I can see that the backlight seems not uniform anymore, the blacks are now washed out greys in the bottom of the screen when using some apps. But on the home screen the black are nice blacks.
Onto a movie - blacks are blocky, shades of grey are blocky, the colors are not as saturated as before...
So I reinstall PA... same thing.
I take the battery out for 5 minutes, same thing...
Bad thing is I moved from Spain to the US and I am not sure that I can invoke easily the warranty, even so it would take forever to send it and get it back.
So, what do you think, hardware issue? Maybe the graphic controller? Or the screen? Or a software issue?
Anybody has seen this before?

Here are some screenshots, 3 are taken with my Mac webcam and 1 with the native onboard "screenshot" feature.
When taken with the onboard screenshot, the colors seem ok, although there is a grey bar in the bottom and of course the stuck blue pixel doesn't appear.
When taken with an outside source, we can see that the colors are washed out and that the blue stuck pixel is there.
Native screenshot: View attachment 1251064
The 3 pics taken from outside source: View attachment 1251065
View attachment 1251066

What gives??

Did u tried a simple restart?
Yes I tried simple restart, shutdown then take the battery put for 5 min, then reinstall PA 0.5
The blue stuck pixel lights up even when the phone is booting, at the Samsung logo stage right at the beginning...
yep bring back for warrantee or insurance, or have a relative do it for you
have them ask first thought if its possible to do under warrantee

Looks like you need to claim warranty! Maybe talk to the samsung guys and ask for a replacement in the US? :fingers-crossed: before you send it for warranty flash the stock ROM and reset flash counter to 0
Before going to the Samsung store you might want to flash a touchwiz based rom and see if any difference is there
Thanks guys for your replies...
Yes, it looks like I need to have it serviced, bummer!!
I'll contact Samsung US and see if they can do something about it. And of course I left the original receipt back in Europe. I hope it's ok as the phone has been in the market for less than a year...
And in any case this means quite a while without my phone...
Sux.

I did install the latest update..but i still have over exposure outside is it wrong?

Hello i did the software update but i still have over exposure with outside pics..
Is it possible that the update didnt go well?even that is showing the right software number and camera number.
Seems to me like you're tying to shoot with the sun directly in front/above your judging from the shadows.
Either use HDR or Backlight mode for best exposure, or shoot when the sun in your back.
That's the only problem I see with this picture. Also make sure you clean your lens.

Here you see the exposure to...There was no direct sunlight it was cloudy...
help
Somebody more?
Your second picture show some overcast, but you might be right about some overexposition.
Could you try taking a similar picture but focusing manually on the sky in order to check if it changes something ?
Click on the photo to focus on something before you take the shot, either the buildings or the sky, and you'll get the photo you require.

Blurred Pictures in a dark room

I've just come across this problem - Just tried taking some pictures in a pitch black room and some of the shots are coming out blurry when the flash is fired and some are fine.
I'd say its rather hit and miss 7/10 shots taken come out blurry and the rest don't. There's a random element to it as I take all the shots in the same way ie touch to focus wait when the green box appears then take the photo.
Its really strange. What's up with the blurred pictures?!!! Anyone else with this issue?
I'm on the latest firmware 1.29

Note 9 yellow photos in low light.

Hey,
I'm rocking a tmobile 128gb blue note 9 and it takes takes some nice photos but I as I was playing around in my house after sunset(night) I took a photo of my couch. I have my ceiling light on, and low and behold there was a HUGE yellow tint to the photos. Not like a filter but more like the default white balance and tone were completely off. Used my moms iphone 7, and the photo was more natural in color from the same angle and lighting. Also swapped cameras and tried my note's front camera and the lighting was also normal. When I use the camera in natural light, the colors are fine and pictures beautiful.
https://forums.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-note-4/457879-photos-yellow-help.html
Googled it and found similar issues, tho thats a note 4.... Any ideas how I could fix this? The photo still has a ton of detail..it just seems again the default white balance and tone is way way off resulting in an inaccurate color scheme. I can post photos tonight when the sun goes down if it helps clarify
Thanks for reading guys !
EDIT: uploaded the reference images from a later post to the main post. 1st image is the yellow hue one from the back, the front camera is the second image and you can see the image is..normal.
I'd be interested to see an example, are you sure the White balance isn't just incorrect?

Here are two photos using an apple as reference...notice the one w/ the back camera is much more yellow in hue than the front camera. I wish the back camera was similar in color to the front colors.
Found this article:
https://www.androidauthority.com/samsung-galaxy-note-9-camera-review-900461/
It seems the note 9 actually may be crappy at determing the right white balance/temp with poor light which leads me to think, if this is the case then why does the back struggle while the front is able to do it properly?
bump
I agree, lower lightphotos get pretty yellowish. Seems easily fixable with a patch. I hope it is.

Thank you for the reply.
I googled a review and it seems to be the case with low light, easily fixable with any photo editing software. You want 2500k for indoor photos, which is what I adjusted the white balance to and then wham, perfect.
The front camera doesnt have this issue, but the back does? What gives? It's obviously a software issue...
I was worried I had a defective unit, but it's safe to say it may just be samsung's software?
Yeah after reading your comment, I used Snapseed and TOOLS - White Balance - AW (auto) on my 3 previously posted photos. Before/after comparison:
EDIT: sorry Ⅰ messed up, some of them came as thumbnails and the newer ones as full size images. To compare it is better if you click-open them all on different tabs and switch between the tabs.

Can only see the before photos, maybe use imgur instead or upload to the forum instead?
Yeah well, if my unit isnt defective and this is widespread perhaps maybe we can get a few more people to test it and submit it to samsung?
Maybe nothing happens but hey worth a shot....it really does seem like an easy fix(hopefully)

Fixed. Now that I fixed it btw, I guess Using Snapseed Auto White did not really give the best results. Only improved the lighting a little. I should try the 2500K thing properly..
BTW what app do you use? All apps I tried until now do not let me specify 2500K, but instead, have a + / - % adjustment slider.
Low light performance is bad beside my old p20 pro
Here's Photoshop Express' magic wand (attached).

Low light performance is actually pretty impressive.
Here's DXO's Note 9 Low light test vs P20 Pro Low light test.
Note 9 takes the win imo.

I took my photo originally in pro mode, with 'save jpeg and raw photos' enabled. I used all auto in pro anyways, so it's the same as auto just also saves in raw...
I then edited my photo in snapseed, which then prompts snapseed to open its raw editor. You aren't given as much to work with as with a jpeg.. but you can adjust the basic settings such as temp, wb, etc.
Anyways, when you're in 'raw mode' in snapseed, it shows you the default temperature(i guess JPEG doesnt save that info?) and you can slide it down to whatever temperature and eyeball it to see what looks good. Every one of my photos taken indoors with a yellowlish light, if i simply edit it...it becomes normal.
Here's a chart actually for WB: https://www.shopmoment.com/momentist/how-to-shoot-manual-white-balance
Now the question is, why is it that indoors my front camera produces auto photos with perfect white balance but when I use my rear camera, it has a messed up white balance when taken in a room with yellowish lights? You obviously have the same issue, so I think we can rule out defects. I noticed the yellowlish tint/white balance being off in some example low light photos at night actually where theres yellow light present in some reviews of the camera on various websites. This seems like a system wide thing, and would be great if maybe some others could test it out so we could make some noise?
Nope ....

Nope what? If you're referring to off wb, it only appears to happen when the main light is yellow. Otherwise, the camera works fine. Went outside last night and took a photo, it's very good in low light. Inside with the lights on(mine are yellowish in hue)? Photos come out wrong.
In your case...seems to be no major yellow light source.
My photo, willhemmens photo with the skulls and the photo here( https://forums.androidcentral.com/s...21378-yellow-hue-photos-help.html#post6389992 ) with the yellow hue. For some reasons, photos under yellow light are producing off balance hues. Any other light? works perfectly....
Least my case, but maybe I have a defect? It's what im trying to figure out, but it seems like others are experiencing the same. Don't wanna go in for a warranty claim if I don't have too.
